    Chicken Exquisito

The restaurant has ample parking in the front and rear of the buiding. This place is very popular with the locals and the ambience is classy and dated. Service is excellent and we loved our waitress. For the bread, definitely ask for the dipping sauce over the butter. It brings it to the next level. The oysters Rockefeller came out extremely hot and was an interesting appetizer. I got the chicken exquisito, it isn't something I would get again with the brandy taste strong for my tastes. The ravioli side that came with it was delicious and I'll get that as a meal next. The cannoli and spumoni were very good and is comparable to any good bakery. Cash Only, there's an ATM located in the restaurant.

I've been to this place a lot of times but last night was my best meal. The appetizer meatballs in marinara and stuffed eggplant was on point. Now the wine we had was paired perfect with my meal. Now the others they got a chicken and shrimp dish didn't pay much attention to their meal but they said it was delicious. I got the chicken boca and ravioli. Best decision Now the desert, the cannoli was filled with there recipe. And the lemon desert if I known it was that good I would have gotten my own lol

Things I liked: - Cool rustic aesthetic outside, classic romantic decor inside. - Very good prices--meals starting at $15, apps starting at $12. - Large portions--I'm not sure who on this planet could finish a whole meal in one sitting here. Things they can improve: - Two our dishes were dirty when we sat down. - Our server had been working there for one week. She didn't let us know until my mother asked about an item on the menu and she had to double check. She could have mentioned that when introducing herself. - My mother asked for dressing on the side, but they put it on the salad. - I waited for the server to return to the table say thanks before I left. I was walking to my car outside and she flagged me down to make sure I paid as someone earlier that day didn't pay. They don't take card, and I definitely placed the cash directly under the receipt. I ordered the ziti as my entree and meatballs as an appetizer. Both were okay but very filling. My mother really enjoyed her shrimp dish. Overall a decent restaurant, I wouldn't be opposed to coming back if someone else suggested going here.

Been here 3 time in different occasions. The first time was ok the last 2 times was not good at all... the host and hostess is very accommodating. The service is just not up to par. It's a cash only restaurant which is fine and there is an ATM machine on site just incase . The portions are fairly generous. The mix drinks needs more work, so I stop having mix drinks there and stick with wine. The food is on a salty side. The restaurant is old so it can use some updates to bring it to life again. The ambiance is family style dining for sure

Wonderful service and really good prices. I suggest making a reservation for Friday nights. This place is cash only also. I want to return to try different menu options next time!

Good prices and service. For the area it's a good choice. What we had was good not outstanding.

They have a great 3 course pasta meal deal that I got last time but I remember seeing the Pork Milanese on another table and I knew I had to get that this time. We started our meal with fried brussels sprouts that came with large chunks of pancetta and a apple cider reduction. All the flavors worked well to balance each other out, we attempted to recreate this delicious combo several days later at home. Next came the Verdi insalata, which was an arugula and watercress salad with apple, pistachio and balsamic, a refreshing followup to the brussels sprouts. Next came the massive pork milanese, it's a show stopper. The breading is impossibly crunchy and not oily at all, while the pork was juicy and flavorful. There was a citrusy fennel salad on top and that paired really well with the fried pork. Every course of our meal exceeded our expectations and I am excited to come back next time to see what's new on the menu.

We went for a date night and were decently surprised considering we live down the street and had no expectations knowing it's tough to find a modern spot in this neck of the woods. The restaurant was pretty dead, so we were expecting a relaxed, smooth experience. The prosciutto and cheeses were great -- but let's be honest, it's hard to mess that up. My friend ordered a cheese and meat board and a steak, and I ordered the mushrooms and mussels. After two or three rounds of drinks, I realized my food still hadn't come out. I asked the bartender about it, and he said it could be out in five minutes. I told him that if it was already on the way, we'd take it -- but if it hadn't been put in yet, that was fine and we didn't want it anymore. His response was basically, "If you want it, it'll be out in five minutes." No explanation, no acknowledgment of what happened, and no apology. It felt more like "do you want it or not?" rather than any ownership of the situation. In the end, I never got my food, and it just left a bad taste in my mouth. Not terrible, but definitely disappointing given how quiet it was. The food we did have was solid, but the lack of communication and basic apology knocked this down to two stars for me.

She helped make the night a really good time out. My gf and I split the Fra Diavalo and the Burger. The Fra Diavolo as excellent in terms of taste, al dente buccatini (serious chew) and the seafood. What we didn't understand was why we got so little pasta in the dish. To be honest, it seemed like we got half an order of the buccatini which was a shame since the shellfish was great, sauce was great and again, pasta cooked perfectly. We will make sure to ask for more when we return. The focaccia and butter to mop up the remaining sauce at the end was phenomenal. We will probably try to order meatballs, sauce and bread & butter next time. It should be on the menu. The burger was also excellent. The burger itself was extremely tasty, I hope they don't move to cheaper beef due to rising prices. Add a dollar if you need to. Overall, a great night. I will say I think the deserts are a little pricey. We really wanted the baked Alaska but $14 seemed a little high. At $12 we would have ordered it. A mental thing I guess since the overall meal we thought was worth every penny.

However, the food is shockingly mediocre in relation to the whole scene here (and mediocre is generous to say). My friend and I ordered the eggplant rollatini to start. Half of it was COLD and the other half luke-warm. Makes me think it was a microwaved dish. For my entree, I ordered the bucatini & meatballs. The bucatini by itself was good pasta, but the bland sauce and meatballs ruined it. Both were lacking flavor and meatballs were so dry, they were crumbling on my plate. We ordered the tiramisu cake to share for dessert, which was easily the best part of my meal and what I'm giving 2 stars for. I would only come back here to sit outside and have some drinks, but can't say I would recommend the food here :(

The menu refers to these as "Greek cheese bread" but somehow that doesn't do it justice - these were immensely pillowy and cheesy, with an amazing crust, with homemade honey butter on the side. I could have had just these for dinner and been satisfied. They really nailed the bread. My other favorites: 1. Hipiti: spicy whipped feta with crispy potatoes on the side. I don't do well with spice but I absolutely loved this. 2. Marouli: winter lettuce with the most amazing vinaigrette dressing. My only knock to this is, presentation-wise, they serve it with half of the plate empty and the other half with salad. I don't understand why restaurants do this because - one, it only highlights the smaller portion and two, we're just going to mix the salad all around in the bowl anyway. 3. Boudeto: daily catch in a beautiful tomato broth. For a seafood dish at a restaurant in Back Bay, this was priced at a fairly reasonable $28. The only dish that fell a little flat for me was the tzatziki - needed a bit more seasoning. As it was, I was eating mostly just plain yogurt. The table-side preparation was cool, though. The space is its own visual dinner, there's simply a lot to look at (including a drawing of Poseidon riding a surf board). We got the big table in the back, which was a beautiful glass structure with a whole terrarium underneath. We couldn't stop marveling at it throughout the meal. Our waiter was wonderful - very helpful recommendations, came by to check on us often even though we were pretty far in the back, super patient with our questions. Hard to get reservations but worth it! Don't bother driving / trying to find parking unless you're willing to eat a hefty garage fee, it's Back Bay.
