    Seared scallops
    Vincent C.

Food and service were both really high quality! The seafood dishes in particular were phenomenal. Food: For a group of six, we were stuffed with a full paella, half order of parrillada, and about 6 tapas. The seafood paella and the seared scallops were my favorites! They were super fresh and cooked to perfection. The only plate we got that I maybe wouldn't order again is the waygu carpaccio. Personally the dressing and sauces covered the meats taste. Service: The service was stellar! They marked the dishes that we should avoid due to allergies and checked in on us frequently. The staff was overall super pleasant and fun to talk to! The tapas all arrived super fast and filled the time well as we waited on the paella. Atmosphere: The atmosphere was the one area we were mixed on. We sat at the seat closest to the bar so the music was a bit loud for a sit down dinner. The lighting was cozy but was too dim for some of the group to read the menus. But overall I enjoyed the lively energy

Classic spot that never disappoints, with a huge wine selection and a great atmosphere. We loved sitting outside, and the whipped goat cheese was easily the highlight of the meal. Always a solid choice!

LOUD and very trendy. Do not sit inside if you wish to speak with others at your table... or it could just be that our party of 6 were seated in the bar. This was our first time in (only one person in our party had been before) so we had plenty of questions regarding the menu... TO BAD though, because the server couldn't hear us nor we them. We enjoyed all of our entrees... though the bread came out afterwards and you should probably ask for the bread when and IF you order the charcuterie board. BTW I got the impression we were getting on the servers and management nerves... but that could just be my perception alone. All and all a nice place to gather if you want a happening spot. Respectfully Reviewed.

The perfect spot for a fun night with any group! Located in Brookline on Beacon Street with lots of street parking. We had a res for a Wednesday night and it was PACKED-- definitely plan ahead! The menu is huge and perfect for any dietary restrictions, super vegetarian friendly. We also had a severe nut/peanut allergy and they were able to accommodate so easily and confidently. For two, we ordered the patatas bravas, the mushrooms a la plancha, the burrata, and a half seafood paella which was probably a little too much for two girls (not that we were complaining!). The Patatas are classic with nice crispy potatoes, the mushrooms were nice and light in a vinegar sauce, and the burrata was with some yummy herbs and seasonings. The burrata was definitely a stand out for me! The paella had the perfect char at the bottom with tons of fresh seafood. We also decided to check out the dessert menu and tried the Olive Oil Cake which was incredibly!! Not too sweet, warm and soft on the inside, with a teeny bit of salt on top for a twist. Definitely a unique dessert and really a perfect end to our meal. Lastly, the service was spot on. Our waiter was helpful and courteous, and really great at providing guidance when we struggled with what and how much to order! The vibe in the restaurant is just so fun, it's absolutely a space that is perfect for really any occasion and will bring the energy for a fun night.

I've been obsesseddd with Barcelona Wine Bar, ever since visiting the location in South End. Decided to go to the Brookline location one day & made a reservation for 7pm. When we arrived, it was pouring rain so they closed the outdoor seating area & our wait ended up being 30-40 min. Then we were seated and ready to order, we were told that they ran out of complimentary bread, as well as grenadine to make the Shirley temple I originally wanted lol. It was interesting because we saw other tables around us have the bread on their tables... But anyways! Here's what we were able to order w/ two people: -mussels -ham & cheese croquettes -potatas bravas -paella salvaje -beef empanadas EVERYTHING was very good! Surprised to see our mussels came with bread since our server said they ran out of complimentary bread but guessing just different type of bread used. The potatas bravas were my favorite & have continued to be my favorite dish from Barcelona Wine Bar! AND I am usually not even a potato kind of person haha. The half size for paella is more than enough for two people, especially if you're also getting tapas! We were basically already full after finishing our second to last tapa dish, so when the paella came we just had a bite each & packed it up to go. Highly recommend Barcelona Wine Bar! My favorite is the South End one, so far but food is still good. Parking: there's meter parking spots available !

Nice windows with a view of Beacon Street

A great dinner option for any occasion. Who doesn't love tapas small plates and nice views of Beacon Street? Such a fan of their wall to ceiling windows, as well as their outdoor patio out front. My friend lovessss this place so we ended up going here twice during her stay. Here's what we got: Patatas Bravas: potatos served in a semi spicy marinara sauce with melted cheese on top (this came out wicked hot! I burned the roof of my mouth on these hahaha) Meatballs: 6 meatballs served in a dish in marinara sauce (perfect for dipping the bread in when you're done eating the meatballs) Ham and cheese croquetas: These are definitely cheesy alright. A little overpowering but not bad by any means! My friend got the mussels and lovedddd the brothy mustard sauce they came in. She also got the beef empanadas and tuna crudo and loved every bite. Ordering 3 tapas plates each was the perfect amount to fill us up. Also, we highly recommend the red sangria here. It's super affordable here and their menu is always changing. Also very friendly staff work here. Only knock is that even if you have a reservation, be prepared to wait. The first night we waited about 30 extra minutes - granted it was really busy so we sat at the bar and grabbed a drink. The second night we waited about 15 minutes. Both nights we did have a reservation and had a decent wait so just a heads up. If anything that's a testimony to how popular this place is! :)

I've been here a few times over the last couple of years and find myself getting pretty frustrated with my experience almost every time. Regardless of your reservation time, you're almost ALWAYS forced to wait 15-20 minutes in their front area. It's always super congested so you're better off trying to wait at the bar (where seats are hard to come by). Don't get me wrong the atmosphere is still super lively and fun, but I think there's just a few too many people. My experience with the staff has either been awesome or pretty poor in terms of attentiveness. I've had super friendly waiters who check in a lot as well as waiters I feel like I need to track down just to get another drink. The food and drinks are great. I love the patatas bravas, steak carpaccio, and ricotta. I went to try the tuna cruda last night and they were sadly out of it (as well as being out of bread!?!) which was a bummer. Despite the negatives, I do see myself going to dinner with a friend at Barcelona here and there. One can only go so long without enjoying some good ol' patatas bravas.

Service is better than food :) tapas are tasty but nothing special as far as quality, often too much sauce and/or oily. The bread is very good, made in house.

    Seafood paella
    Lan T.

I was thoroughly impressed with the food! So tasty and unique! I would say this is now ranked one of the best restaurants in Boston for me! The Seafood paella was to die for!! I also loved their tapas! The eggplant tapas and the mushroom were my favorite! The vibes were also good to hang out for drinks! The staff are nice and attentive! However, a minus point was I felt we were rushed out of the restaurant.

So called chorizo migas, no chorizo. Mysterious white sauce.
    Andres E.

The Ali oil has no garlic, no bite whatsoever. The chorizo migas has barely any chorizo and what it has, I doubt is Spanish, there's no hint of Spanish paprika. Redeeming dishes, the four dates wrapped in bacon and jamon croquetas over a white sauce that was definitely not alioli Gambas al ajillo have no ajillo. Neither the chef nor sous chef are Spanish. The manager walked by and asked how things were and I let her know the jamon never arrived. She went to 'check' on it and never came back. We had it removed from the bill. No Spanish jamon today!

Whipped ricotta was the star of the show. Grilled peaches were a little bitter. Ribeye just left me wanting more. Ordered the happy hour almonds but they never made it to the table. Love the music and the vibe. That's two visits to Barca at two different locations in the last month. Look out Mass Ave location. I'm zeroing in on the perfect tapas selections.

Whenever we come to visit Boston which is twice a year, and I ask my friends where do you want to go, it's always Barcelona. When I told my husband, his response "of course it is!" Honestly why ruin a tried and true place, good tapas, good sangria- I have never had a bad experience from the many years we would come here. The only negative part is whenever we get the charcuterie board we always forget our favorite cheese. But whatever we end up picking up never disappoints. My favorites is the paella but order that first because it takes 20-40 minutes depending how busy it is.

The drinks menu is impressive too, with a large selection of beers on tap plus wine, cocktails, and mocktails. For food, we kept it simple and shared our way through the menu. The Farm Green salad was crisp and fresh, pa perfect starter. Then came the asparagus, roasted in the wood-fired oven and served with a sauce that elevated the whole dish. Unfortunately, this most recent visit didn't live up to the high standards I've come to expect. While a few dishes hit the mark, the majority of our order was a letdown: Tinned Octopus: Surprisingly chewy and lacked seasoning. Mushroom Toast: The texture was rubbery, and the flavor was completely drowned out by an aggressive amount of balsamic. Beets: Had a very overwhelming cumin flavor that threw the dish out of balance. Roast Beef Slider: Served cold and felt a bit uninspired. It's such a cute, intimate space, and I've had so many wonderful nights here in the past, but the execution was just off this time around. "Walk in as strangers, leave as friends."…read more If that's not a saying that makes you want to head there now, then I don't know what is LOL! Obviously, there is more to the new renovated location of La Cantina than this saying but I will say I was pretty impressed when I saw it and knew I had to add it to my review. Let's just say it is pretty accurate. We did leave as friends since we made a few at the bar and then some. Just saying! La Cantina winery in Franklin, MA used to be a small wine bar that offered wine tasting flights and minimal food. BUT, now it is in a stunning new location (not far from their old stomping grounds). Fun Fact: It used to be a Mechanic garage. Well, wait until you see how it has turned from fixing cars to wine making and tasting. YOU HAVE GOT TO COME HERE! Parking is easy with plenty of spots. They have a lot of room at their gorgeous bar, but they also have high tops and tables for families or a large group. And, they host events here too; birthday parties, bridal showers, and anything in between, this place is it. I actually want to hold one of my milestone birthday parties here but well keep the number a secret for now. Service: Alana was our bartender and she was wonderful. Always asking us what we needed and how were doing. You don't get this upscale service any where else. And, when I wanted another sample of something she gave it to me without a fuss. Always with a smile on her face, she was the best. Wine: They have an excellent wine menu to choose from and they offer flights for about $25 pp. Flights are the best way to try multiple wines. I personally loved most of the red wines with Petit Sirah being my favorite. My husband loved their Barbera! I did sample their Sauv Blanc too which was nice but it was too cold to have a full pour. Food: Their menu is great with a ton of options from charcuterie, to tapas and some entrees. I will say some of their items can get expensive but definitely worth it. We started with a few cheeses and prosciutto. Then we ordered one of their popular pizzas called La Cantina. Everything was fresh, made in house with their beautiful pizza oven right smack in the middle of the bar. You have got to see this thing, its huge! Overall: If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We had the best time and we can't wait to go back. Franklin is not far from where we live but still a good 30 minute drive and also not far from the Wrentham outlets. We didn't have to make a reservation for a Sunday afternoon but I bet Saturdays can get pretty busy. I just loved everything about this wine bar and I know you will too! Cheers~

We ordered the meatballs, the souvla of the day and the salad. Everything was so tasty. You can't go wrong with anything here. The table next to us had the huge sampler which was about $240 but was one of every dish on the menu. This is a perfect choice for six to 8 people. Service was super friendly. They left a large bottle of water on the table, which I love. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. Go here! You won't regret it.

The menu refers to these as "Greek cheese bread" but somehow that doesn't do it justice - these were immensely pillowy and cheesy, with an amazing crust, with homemade honey butter on the side. I could have had just these for dinner and been satisfied. They really nailed the bread. My other favorites: 1. Hipiti: spicy whipped feta with crispy potatoes on the side. I don't do well with spice but I absolutely loved this. 2. Marouli: winter lettuce with the most amazing vinaigrette dressing. My only knock to this is, presentation-wise, they serve it with half of the plate empty and the other half with salad. I don't understand why restaurants do this because - one, it only highlights the smaller portion and two, we're just going to mix the salad all around in the bowl anyway. 3. Boudeto: daily catch in a beautiful tomato broth. For a seafood dish at a restaurant in Back Bay, this was priced at a fairly reasonable $28. The only dish that fell a little flat for me was the tzatziki - needed a bit more seasoning. As it was, I was eating mostly just plain yogurt. The table-side preparation was cool, though. The space is its own visual dinner, there's simply a lot to look at (including a drawing of Poseidon riding a surf board). We got the big table in the back, which was a beautiful glass structure with a whole terrarium underneath. We couldn't stop marveling at it throughout the meal. Our waiter was wonderful - very helpful recommendations, came by to check on us often even though we were pretty far in the back, super patient with our questions. Hard to get reservations but worth it! Don't bother driving / trying to find parking unless you're willing to eat a hefty garage fee, it's Back Bay.
