The only reason this place gets a 4 instead of a 5 is the initial service. We were seated at a table along the side of the room, which was otherwise void customers. No one came to address is for severance minutes and then choose to move to the bar. Here, Alna, the main bartender, greeted us immediately and made us feel welcome. She explained the wine flights and offered a sample of Reisling to my girlfriend, who preferred Moscato, which La Cantina doesn't offer (though no one trait does in New England). Thankfully Alna had a similar palate to that of my girlfriend, and they quickly made a connection. Love that! I chose a flight of reds and ultimately preferred the Clone 8 above those that I tried, thigh the Cab Sav Reserve was a close second. The Drunken Goat cheese sample was delicious too! The menu definitely has us eager to come back for food. And for those who aren't wine drinkers they have a small selection of beer and a cider. The atmosphere is lively and open, and looks like they'd open up the large bar doors on a nice day. Come enjoy a flight, or a glass, you can't go wrong!

First time here and it did not disappoint! Met a coworker who had been coming here for years. I decided to do the tasting flight of red wines and they were all delicious! My favorite was the Montepulciano! I also had the margherita pizza and it was the best I've had in a long time! The bar tender Alana (?) was super friendly and attentive!

La Cantina Winery is a surprise find in an average Franklin neighborhood. A fairly small store front but a large backyard used to host concerts, wine tasting and other events. On a pleasant Saturday afternoon, county singer AK Cody entertained about 100+ patrons. The winery offers a nice sampling of white and red wines as well as sangria and beer. I had a flight of five reds including a Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve which were my favorites. A block of cheese and crackers are available for snacks. You can bring your own food too so we ordered nachos and guacamole from Acapulco's located next to the winery. https://fb.watch/gehLnmVgaJ/

Everything was absolutely wonderful! Our bartender, Joe, went above and beyond with his hospitality, making us feel welcomed and valued throughout our visit. The wines were expertly crafted, and his friendly demeanor added to the overall experience. We truly had a memorable time, and we are definitely looking forward to coming back!

This is the go to gem for fantastic food and wine. Pizza NEVER disappoints. Staff is friendly and attentive. The saying is true " come in a strangers, leave as friends". Wine choices are incredible. Cabernet Sauvignon is our favorite.

So... I found out La Cantina Winery was opening a new place in Franklin, MA with the Grand Opening TODAY! Is it ok to say I squealed like a little girl? I've been to a few of their "lawn parties" and a full restaurant is a logical progression. Anyway, I usually don't review food on places that just open because it doesn't seem fair. This is going to be an exception. The Wagyu sliders and lamb lollipops were PER-FECT. The Cabernet I had was perfecter. They are open until 8 today. If you are in the area, come on down. You may have to wait, but you'll enjoy the energy and love the food (and wine, of course!).

La Cantina is an amazing local find, especially if you're looking to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Boston without any sacrifice in flavor or ambiance. The restaurant is beautiful and open with a large bar. The bathrooms are also very clean and modern. The day my friends and I went it was unseasonably warm; I was hoping for some outdoor seating but there is none. There isn't much of a view in the area so that is fine. Parking was very easy however when we left, the parking lot was getting pretty crowded. Our server was so friendly and helpful. We stayed so long her shift ended/she went to work the bar but she made sure we were taken care of. She answered all of our questions and was so accommodating. Now, for the star of the show: the food. It was all amazing. Honestly. Everything was seasoned to perfection and as previous reviews stated, you can absolutely tell that the chef is crafting the menu /dishes with intention. We did the tapas and pretty much ordered most of the menu. And we loved the tuna tartare, lamb, and a few other dishes so much that we ordered them again . The pizza menu looks delicious too but we didn't get to it. The wine flight was delicious. I gravitate towards reds and they have a great selection. The one critique I have is the dessert menu. We ordered 2 tiramisus and it is not a traditional tiramisu (airy, no lady fingers, and not soaked in espresso). Our bill was very reasonable, given we ordered pretty much everything. Loved it so much I'm going back for my mom's birthday!

Wine flight! I liked the bubbly the best.

I have a friend who lives north of Boston so I drove up from CT for us to meet in the middle here at La Cantina! THE WINE -we both did flights and enjoyed our selections! -they give you a cute dry erase menu to circle your choices. I recommend looking at the menu online so you can see a detailed description of each wine before selecting what you want. -the tasting comes with the winery glass. I am happy to add this one to my collection. Really sturdy and nice hand feel. THE SERVICE -there was one person working when we arrived about 20 min after opening. I think at one point someone else came in. -she clearly had a lot to do as the place got busier but she still made sure to check in on us and other tables + apologized to folks when they experienced any sort of wait THE LOCATION -we were here in the winter so we sat indoors. I'm honestly not sure if there is outside seating but I want to assume yes -the inside was VERY small. About 6 high top tables (most 2 seaters) plus a bar. We were lucky we got there early because it really filled up quick and we would have had no where to sit. -I will say I noticed a pretty decent turnover of tables so even though it was consistently busy (as a Saturday should be) I didn't see any patron have to be turned away or wait long for seating. -the tables were pretty small but enough room for our flights. It got pretty loud once the place filled up so my friend and had really had to lean in / talk louder in order to hear each other at times -being high top tables the chairs were also high and had very low backs. I can see them possibly being difficult for folks with certain disabilities or some people who are older. -Parking! I did not look at the website ahead of time to check for parking and was very confused upon arrival. I called and they were able to give me good directions. There isn't a parking lot and not much street parking. But there is a large beige building (gymnasium) nearby where you can park ALONG the white fence and walk through this back way to the winery. My understanding was the other spots in the parking lot were strictly off limits! THE FOOD -there was a food truck when we were there and lots of folks purchased from it. Seems like they have rotating vendors. -I think you could purchase a charcuterie on site as well. -you are allowed to bring your own food in so I brought cheese and crackers + some other little snacks! It is always very nice to have that option. Though we had to be really careful maneuvering our food to make sure we didn't knock anything over because the tables are so small. Overall I had a really nice experience and recommend this winery. Would love to go in the warmer months to experience outdoor seating options. While I won't drive here of my own accord (1hr+ away) I would definitely meet my friend here again as a lovely central meeting point!

The woman doing the tasting was very detailed about the wines and we really enjoyed listening and asking questions. We enjoyed all the white wines with the Cayuga White being our favorite, so we got a bottle of that to take home. I also enjoyed the reds and the rose. The owner was very friendly and loved chatting when we asked about the huge unusual tree - it is his pride and joy - a chestnut tree! We would definitely come back. I do wish they gave more than a very small pour. In some of the wines, we couldn't really get the flavors as there was just not enough wine in the glass to taste fully.

The winery is open 12-4 on weekends and allows you to bring in your own food, which was the perfect way for us to enjoy some local wine in a beautiful setting. There is seating inside the house, outside on a covered patio area, and they have tables scattered across the lawn so there are many options to pick from. We each decided on a wine flight before selecting some bottles and paired it with the snack trays we brought from home and we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon together on the grounds of this vineyard. One thing to note, the road to the winery is very narrow so they employ a metered light system at the beginning of the road. It's important to wait for the red light to turn off before driving down the narrow stretch. The person in front of me didn't do this and ended up having to back up (reverse) down a narrow and winding path to allow the incoming cars (who had the right of way) through. For visitors with mobility needs, there is a grass parking lot and lots of cobblestones and lose rock to navigate during your time here, so be mindful of that. There are a few stairs in order to gain entry into the house to shop/select the wines and the bathroom is not wheelchair accessible.

Man, do I feel like a friggin' dingus! Driving up to the location of this lovely establishment…read moreproved to be nothing shy of slightly misguided. I blame Google Maps for this (not the restaurant) because it had me turn directly into the EXIT lane! Yeah. By the time I realized my mistake, it was too late. Couldn't do a three point turn. Couldn't just reverse out of there and try again. So, I sheepishly drove my car at a snail's pace up the wrong way whilst veering as far to the right side as I could. Passed like 3 cars. Yep. I'll likely beat myself up over that one for years to come. Anyways, welcome to my Prime at Sky Meadow review! :D So, wifey and I share the same birth month. Every year, we choose a bougie restaurant to have what we call a combined birthday dinner together. Tired of always going to Ruth's Chris every other year, we decided to see what the locale had to offer. One thing led to another and...we ended up booking a res at Prime. Walking in, we're immediately greeted with an aura of elegance. The entrance consists of a grand standing lobby featuring a self playing piano, adding to the opulent atmosphere. We were able to get a table within mere seconds after they verified our reservation. The dining room LOOKS nice and has a great view, from what I understand (it was dark that evening, so we couldn't enjoy the view). Too bad I can't say the same for the acoustics. Out of the many fine dining restaurants I've visited in my life, Prime may possibly be one of the noisiest. I think it's because the tables are too close together. Which means you can almost hear entire conversations at the table next to yours. It's why I never travel in public without at least one pair of earbuds. Misophoniacs UNITE!! XD Now, I'd like to give a shout out to the waitress who took care of us that evening (I really wish I didn't suck with names so much). Service was stellar, overall. After receiving our drinks, we ordered the following.. Appetizers: Got the crab cake and clam chowder. Now, I just need to mention...our waitress had us at, "it's pure crab, no breadcrumbs". Both our eyes lit up as I said, "Yup. We'll take it!". Guys. I gotta tell ya....not a lot of restaurants can make a crab cake properly. Yet, Prime nails it! This thing was f#*!ing delicious! I dare say it may possibly be the greatest crab cake one can buy anywhere in the state of NH. And I will stand by that claim until or unless I discover better elsewhere. The clam chowder is in a league of its own. I often say how the very best chowders are the ones you don't have to add any additional seasoning to. This one totally slaps! Creamy, savory, made with REAL fresh clams. The cheesy bread they give on the side pairs brilliantly with the chowder as well. Solid 10 out of 10 for both apps! Mains: Wifey and I stuck with our favorites, getting a filet and ribeye, respectively. Describing the taste of these should be brief, since they seem to season all their steaks the same way. While the temperatures were absolutely spot-on, they could have used a bit more seasoning for our preference. However, we didn't see the need to send them back and just sprinkled some salt over the steak instead. Ch'yeah! Forgot to mention...this is one of the few fine dining restaurants that actually leaves the salt and pepper shakers on the table. Inconceivable! :o Got the lobster mac & cheese as the sharable side. And, uh....I think we were totally spoiled by RC's version of this. Because what Prime does here is....unique. The cheese (which I STILL cannot identify yet) was so mild, I truly believe the chefs were going for a subtle flavor. If done properly, it can actually give a delectable impression to the palate. Few extra dashes of salt, the whole thing was quite tasty! My one complaint here though: lobster meat was lacking. Normally, the ratio should be something like 70/30, macaroni's favor. This version was more like...85/15. Side's an 8 out of 10; steaks would both be a 9 out of 10. Dessert: Last, we have the peanut butter pie. I decided to take this one home, since I already felt like a pregnant whale by this point. Simply put, this pie was nothing short of sublime. Rock hard chocolate frosting aside, this was a 9 out of 10 for me. It's worth noting an 18% service fee is automatically charged to your total bill. So, take that into account when tipping. I'm not totally sure why they do this regardless of party size. Nevertheless, we made sure to close the gap, so to speak, on the gratuity by adding in an additional 7%. Service was just that good! Whilst I'd love to be able to give this place a perfect score, I honestly can't when considering the noisy ambiance of the dining area and lack of lobster portioning in their mac & cheese. That's not to say, however, that Prime is anything short of an amazing dining experience. I'm giving Prime at Sky Meadow 4 stunningly sweet chocolate peanut butter pies that melt in your mouth, not on your fork, out of 5.
