One word. AMAZING!!!! My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out on a Friday night since we've drove by it multiple times and saw how busy this place can get. We just so happened to pull up to the parking lot and scored the last parking spot! As we entered, we heard a nice young lady greet us from the bar while pouring a drink. She insisted we find a seat or a table anywhere that makes us feel comfortable. After a few minutes or so, we were brought over menus and asked if we knew what we were drinking. It seems although this might be a place for locals and we loved the energy of this place! I was torn between the Caramel Apple Tini and the One Two Joe's Punch and couldn't make up my mind, so I decided to get both! My boyfriend got a octoberfest beer and a caramel espresso martini. We LOVED our drinks. They for sure didn't skimp out on the alcohol pour either! Our server was phenomenal and very attentive- he also gave us owner/manager vibes. If so, he's doing one heck of a great job. The place was pretty packed around 6pm. We were informed about their specials on the chalkboard which was helpful because we couldn't see it from where we were sitting. We got the Kung Pao dumplings and onion rings which were both a huge hit. We cleared those apps in no time. I didn't expect an American food bar like 1048 to have dumplings nor did we really expect much but they were flavorful and delicious-- highly recommend! We ordered the steak tips and the thanksgiving day sandwich and both were so tasty! The steak was cooked perfectly to my liking and the bourbon glaze was one of a kind! This place has it all! TVs all over the place and viewable at all angles, great music, free parking, excellent food with a long list of options for everyone... even the picky ones, and A+ service. Kaitlin and Joe were both amazing! I would definitely ask about their specials or walk up to the chalkboards and also ask for a drink menu. They have a lot more seasonal drinks available on their physical drink menu than their online menu. Again, hands down would highly recommend whether you're a local or not. read more

Okay I have to give a special shout-out to 1048's hidden gem: the daily specials written up on the chalkboard! Today I tried the Shrimp Teriyaki stir fry over Rice and Im so glad I did. So delicious! They use the large shrimp and don't shy away from giving your a good amount. So well seasoned and great portions. Worth every single penny. Can't wait to have this again next time! read more

Where do I even start with this place?? The food was one of the best pub meals I have ever had. The steak tips were marinated so well and you could really tell that it was made well. The waitress/owner Kerry was so nice and helpful, honestly the best server I have ever experienced in a restaurant. The place was very nice and cozy. The kitchen staff even had a separate fryer for shellfish allergies, which unfortunately is one of the most rare parts of a kitchen. Overall the absolute best pub I have ever been to. read more

Met my friend for a girls night out and we chose the grill. I haven't been there since they changed management so I thought ...why not? It was a Wednesday night...thought we would be the only ones there but nawhhhh.... the place was jumping. There was a pretty diverse group of people there so I loved it. I love martinis and the pumping one was on point. We had the steak and cheese Calzone (a prize winner at the taste of Randolph prior to the pandemic) and it was still a winner. We ordered the glazed steak tips and the glaze turkey tip dishes with vegetables for our entrees. The turkey tips were delicious but the steak tips didn't make the team. Well it was trending towards a four because I initially liked the chicken wrap with the artichokes with the red peppers, but I got a few bites with an odd off, gamey taste not sure if some pieces were old or what. After being cooped up in the house for months because of Corona we were so excited to head out to 1048 and finally eat in a restaurant. I think everyone had the same idea! Place was packed and all tables taken! We saw this cute woman sitting all by herself at a table! Her name was Janet! The staff asked if she would like company and asked us if we minded to share a table with her and would understand if we didn't due to Corona. We were very happy to sit with Janet. I cannot tell you how much fun we had that night with this wonderful woman. I cannot thank the staff at 1048 for giving us the pleasure to spend our first meal "out" with this wonderful woman. The food was excellent, the staff extremely nice and we stayed for hours hanging out with Janet and drinking a few coca-cola's why she sipped her wine. If there was an option for 100 stars, I'd give it. This is your typical local pub, with extraordinary service. I've been going here ever since the new owners took over. Some of my favorites: Bar pizza, Greek Salad, Steak Tips, Burgers, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, Buffalo Wings, Calzones, Tater Tots!!!!, Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls. My wife is in love with their mac n cheese. The bartenders are quick and friendly. Joe and Kerry always greet me by name when I come in. They are both amazing at making sure all your needs are met and that everything is to your liking. The other Joe runs the kitchen. I once had a sandwich that was prepared in a way I didn't expect. I told him about it, and he explained how to easily place my order and voila, it's my favorite sandwich on their menu. I also want to note, they adapted quickly during the early days of the pandemic and provided the community with an exceptional take out dining option. And speaking of community, they do fund raisers, and support the community's less fortunate during Thanksgiving and Christmas!!!! The place is okay I guess. I went for the south shore style bar pizza which I was told they had as I like trying different places that have it. Now that I have, I must say it was average at best. So many better places very nearby have ssbp and this one couldn't compare. The establishment looks like it's mostly a locals place and they had a pretty big lunch time crowd, which was surprising. The menu is large and a few other items I saw while I was there looked decent, but probably not tempting enough for me to return. Truthfully this just barely escaped 2 stars but I went with 3. Local dive bar. Nachos were decent. I like that the chips were really toasted, but the rest of the toppings weren't cooked (onions & olives). The bowl of chili was a hefty bowl of chili, so come hungry. It was different than any kind of had before-mild with minimal beans & full of corn & bell peppers. It was good, but different. Hands down the best lobster roll I have ever had. The service was absolutely phenomenal and I would have never expected such a delicious dish to come from a neighborhood bar. This lobster roll holds the trophy of lobster rolls . Best I've had along the seacoast. No holding back on the meat. I usually stop in there for my occasional beer, but I finally decided to try the food and I'm so happy that I did. Everything was made to perfection. Fries on the side of my lobster roll where crisp and fresh and the fried pickles were a great deal, served as a huge portion. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Maybe I'm bias because I'm from the south and I'm use to seasoning. I ordered shrimp and I guess the north only has JUMBO but it was OKAY. The mash potatoes and corn were super bland I had to put salt pepper butter... the works. The lady who answered the phone was SUPER NICE I can say that. The food on the other hand I'm sorry. I was in the area on business and was pretty sick of the food in the area around my hotel and did a search to try to find a good "neighborhood" place and 1048 did not disappoint! A very small bar/dining room, I was surprised by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. I had a Chicken Parmesan sandwich and it was very much like the sandwiches I remembered while growing up in SW Connecticut. 1st time there today,we had a commitment in town and decided to try it after it based on reviews. It was as described, loved the 'local' bar and the set up of the eating are. Tv's on all the walls, black boards for the daily specials.=, and there are plenty. We sat at the bar and were greeted by one of the owner Kerry, who was the bartender. Welcomed us for our 1st visit. Drinks were great and it was nice to hear the comments amongst the customer/bartender. Then we had local friends drop by as it turned out to be their favorite hangout. Shift change in bartender s the owner was flying to Washington to catch the Patriot game the next morning. new bartender Joe was a character and was great at giving the incoming customers fun comments , and the exchanges were definitely 2 sided. Ordered stuffed quahogs , chicken stew soup for apps. Quite good, but the stew needed a tad of salt. The baked haddock was as good as fancy restaurant and nothing was needed. The veal perm with linguini was good, but the sauce was lacking in taste and texture, the veal ( 2 large pieces) were good. Overall, it is a very friendly place, easy parking, great service and good food at a very reasonable price. Looking forward to a 2nd visit to try out their pizzas. read more

O'Donnell's has been in Randolph for a long time. I grew up in Randolph and had never been in, until now. My wife and I had a coupon from the Entertainment Book, so we decided to give it a chance. We did not expect much, since it is a townie Irish pub/restaurant, but we went anyway. Here is our experience: 1.) Atmosphere: Upon walking in, we were welcomed by the after work drinking crowd at the bar, who were already drunk. But, it was a Friday so that's OK. The dining area is behind the bar, so we made our way over to be seated. 2.) Service: Our waitress was not a happy girl. Actually, we've seen happier people at funerals. She was miserable, but at least she was trying to be friendly. I know you are working at a crappy pub, but at least be pleasant to paying customers please. 3.) Food: My salad had hair in it. I took the hair out and was just going to let it go, but then I found 3 more hairs. So, I asked for a new salad. Our "friendly" waitress obliged, surprisingly. She probably just took the hair off and moved the vegetables around, but whatever. The salad was OK, the lettuce probably came from a bag. But, at least it was edible. For my main course I got the steak tips, which were actually very good. They were cooked well, tender, and marinated well. I was impressed and surprised. My wife ordered the haddock parm. (weird choice, I know). It actually looked like mushy poop in a bowl. The pasta was over-cooked and watery, the sauce was awful, and the fish was mushy and fishy. I actually tasted her food, just to see if it tasted as bad as it looked. Yeah, it was awful. Overall, for a local pub/restaurant, I guess the place is just OK...for a drunken meal. If you choose to go, after reading this, stick with something simple like steak tips or pizza (they are known for their pizzas). And try not to smile or be friendly because they obviously don't like that. read more

This is the kind of place that you hide out from your wife or husband for a night to just get loaded and stare are the other local drunks. On my visit there I met the Bartender and he was friendly with a good sense of humor. (guess that comes with the territory). If you are a single guy or gal this not the place to meet singles. The few women I noticed there looked like heroin addicts to be honest. Skanky! I wouldn't roll the dice on food here based on the condition of the place.
