Really, really delicious. Bacon cheeseburger with fried egg on top - excellent fries. Significant other got veggie pizza. Both delicious. Have not been here for years. It got busy as basketball playoffs were on at the bar but regardless, it's a cozy spot. Food really good and we were not rushed.

We had a great time on Saturday when we happened upon Four Square Restaurant. They were hosting a Kentucky Derby Party that we had no idea about. When we first arrived, it was very quiet but as the race grew closer, the restaurant became very crowded. We ordered some mozzarella sticks for apps, which were excellent. We then had a grilled chicken sandwich, cheeseburger and veggie sandwich. I had regular fries and the other two ordered waffle fries. All the food was excellent. My chicken sandwich was particularly delicious! My daughter is still raving about the waffle fries! Service was solid, even though it was very busy and the crowd was focused on the Derby! I liked the neighborhood feel that I felt. It was obvious to me that everyone knew each other, which was cool. I gave 5-stars because of the food, atmosphere and solid service! If I lived in the Braintree area, I would definitely visit often.

Ended up here after the place I was hoping for turned out being closed for lunch. I have to agree with some of my fellow Yelpers. This is not a foodie destination, but a neighborhood hangout. Go in with some people, order drinks or shots (shots written on the wall sounded interesting) and get food to not drink on an empty stomach. I had to drive later that day, so it was just food for this time. Ordered the Four Square Burger cooked medium (with cheddar), and waffle fries as a side. Waffle fries were very good! They were cooked very nicely and didn't require additional salt or pepper (though I add pepper to literally everything). One note: they had a light taste of wonton, not sure if intentional or not. (Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining.) The burger was a miss for me, primarily because it was over-cooked. A tiny amount of pink and juice, and everything else was well done. The meat appears seasoned, but rather lightly for my taste (compounded by being overdone). As for the egg: I'm not sure if they were going for over hard... usually burgers include a runny egg that ties ingredients together. Veggies were certainly there, but I personally like them just a little more pronounced (possibly compounded by the burger's size.) This thing was massive! Meat, bacon, and the wonderful golden and gooey cheddar were not skimped on! The service was excellent, and the location was superbly clean. (Full disclosure, I think I was one of the first people in that day). I don't see myself returning for food, but might meet a friend for a drink when the current situation allows.

The buffalo chicken, truffle Mac and cheese is very good! Atmosphere of the restaurant is tranquil, casual bar feel (in the afternoon). Menu is classic, comfort American food. Had the nachos as well which was OK, but the chicken was slightly burnt and the bottom of the nachos are dry as the ingredients are only stacked on top.

    Buffalo mac and cheese...amazing!!

My rating out of 10: 8 Four Square has a cool pub atmosphere that I can imagine can be a bit chaotic and noisy during peak, but it was great for a late lunch. I had the buffalo mac and cheese, and it was off the chain good! Their four cheese blend is super creamy and flavorful, and the buffalo chicken throughout kicked it up quite a few notches, making for a fairly spicy dish, especially for the Boston area. It also had tomato and spinach throughout, rounding out one of the tastier mac and cheeses I have had in quite some time. There are lots of beers on tap to choose from, and many other choices besides mac and cheese, many of which looked amazing as they came out to other tables. I will definitely be back!

Food from reopened restaurant...so disappointing compared to the original, we don't be back

I am so sad to see what had become of my favorite local restaurant. Four square had amazing food. The menu was very unique with an Italian flare, I enjoyed everything including the pizza and the four square sandwich. Each menu option was a step above basic and we returned week after week. We visited a few weeks ago with high hopes and were quite disappointed. The menu is basic to say the least. Had the calamari that came with blue cheese and carrots and celery...it wasn't buffalo. My husband had a burger that looked like a smaller burger than a McDonald's burger microwaved. He was very disappointed given his love for the burgers at the old Four Square. I had a bar pizza which was nothing to write home about, didn't compare to any legendary bar pizzas in the area. I'm impartial to their old pizza as bar isn't my favorite but this bar pizza was subpar at best. Again, the menu is basic. 'Burger', 'chicken sandwich', 'pretzel', 'basket of fries' etc. it's missing that step above that used to be. One other comment is that I feel it's missing it's identity. Is it a bar or is it a restaurant? It's too small to be a bar but only had about 5 tables, all high tops so it's not family friendly anymore. I'm not rushing back, as sad as it makes me. I'll give it a few months and hope for improvements.

Best Pub in Weymouth. Great servers, bartenders and Chef joe is the best. Many craft beers and domestics. Great pizza too! 5 stars. Unbelivable entrees and tons of wine choices. The owner is a great guy too.

Now that I am leaving the state soon, I am in the middle of a mad dash to try all the places that…read moreI've mentally bookmarked before I am a thousand miles away. With this comes the anxiety that I will discover a mind-blowing place and kick myself for not heading in sooner. Thus, a disappointing experience doesn't hurt *quite* as bad. However, the foodie in me doesn't care about relocation... he cares about food. Lured in by reviews of my peers, I tried the Tokenfire Colada and the Ribeye Steak. The Colada seemed interesting and unique, and the steak looked mouthwatering in the pictures. Tokenfire Colada - This one was very sweet, peanuty, extremely creamy, and a little savory. The thickness kept it from being refreshing, and I am not sure if I would call it boozy either. Usually with cocktails I sip and sip until it's all gone well before the halfway point, like popcorn in a movie theater where the bag is gone by the end of the trailers. Then there was the Ribeye Steak. I don't know... something about one of the photos here possessed me to order it, though I almost never order steak at a restaurant (gosh knows why). The wait for this thing was considerable, more than I would expect for a medium-rare piece of meat, especially when it wasn't that busy. I can only imagine if all tables/bar seats were full and there was a waitlist! Eventually the steak made it to me, but... was it worth it? No, it was worth neither the wait, nor the money it cost. First, rather than being cooked medium-rare as requested, it was more a medium-well, at best. Second, some of the steak was extraordinarily chewy. Third and finally, I found it rather bland, while some salt was used in seasoning, this was very light. The steak came with broccoli and mashed potatoes. These two were also bland, and so forgettable I didn't remember them until I went to upload the photo of the dish. Finally, there is the question of vibe. It feels like a place with light tavern influences. Not at all bad to spend a couple hours. However, as a small quip, the purple/violet LEDs fly in the face of said vibe. Thus, we are left with a thoroughly underwhelming experience where I begrudgingly finished my items because I am not someone who likes to send food back. I am only glad I tried Tokenfire in that I won't regret never trying it.

We ordered Mexican corn, fried calamari, and chicken wings for the starters. We wanted to order the octopus, but it was unavailable. The corn has little seasoning compared to those at Mexican restaurants. The batter for the calamari was so crispy. It would be nice if it were fried clam belly, but this is not a seafood restaurant. The wings are crispy and a little spicy with the Thai chili sauce; this dish was a fusion dish for them. The main dishes are pork shank and rib-eye steak; it might be bland for some people because they use simple seasoning. The pork shank was tender and juicy, perfectly paired with broccolini, which I even placed another order to go. The rib-eye steak (medium rare) was tender and juicy but a little bland to me. My partner enjoyed it since he preferred simple seasoning on the steak. Both entrees were huge. Coming here with an empty stomach is better. It is reasonably priced and offers excellent service from a local restaurant. They need to update their menu

The outdoor area is inviting, and inside there's a great mix of low-top tables, high-tops, bar seating, and cozy spots to settle into. Everything feels thoughtfully spread out, and I loved being able to see the open brick oven and activity in the kitchen. The space also has a bit of a bakery/café vibe, making it feel like a place where you could stop in for a quick grab-and-go item or stay awhile for a full meal. The staff made a great impression too. The people at the front were incredibly helpful to my guest, who was having some trouble with their phone. I also ordered one of the specialty drinks but asked for it without alcohol. The bartender absolutely nailed it--it was so good that my only complaint was that it didn't come in a bigger glass. For food, I had the grass-fed burger and fries (see photo), and it exceeded my expectations. The burger was so juicy and flavorful that I ended up cutting it into pieces just to make it manageable. Every bite was delicious. What I appreciate most is that I left feeling like I hadn't even experienced everything the restaurant has to offer. I already want to go back, choose a different seat, and enjoy a completely different perspective of the space. Honestly, it feels like the perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon. The Fours was good once, but not this time. We went on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. It was not crowded at all which we liked. Our bartender Brian did not seem to be happy at all when he greeted us, but that was ok. Sometimes even servers have bad days and we just let it go. After ordering drinks we shared their Buffalo Fingers appetizer. I always loved this appetizer. It was still good but felt the chicken was a bit on the chewy side. Then, for entrees, I always get their Chopped Salad with Salmon on it. Their Chopped salad always tastes so good and with a big portion I usually bring the rest home. First off, the Salmon was overcooked and dry and I was so upset since I was craving a good piece of Salmon. The salad was still decent. My husband had their Hot Pastrami sandwich and this was excellent. His order always comes out perfect LOL! The good thing is when I told Brian about my fish he felt bad and compted the whole salad which was very nice of him. I will say I do like sitting on their patio when the warmer weather is here with a glass of wine, an app and people watch. Not sure if the food has gone down but I will say this place usually had better food and service than our last experience! Cheers~
