Place was packed on a Sat nite. Parking isn't greatest since it's in a strip mall with a Whole Foods store ... Made mistake of not making a reservation ...walked in and find out there is a 2 hr wait but within a few minutes 4 spots opened up at the expansive bar. The place is huge. Bar is expansive and comfortable. Plenty of space unlike most bars in restaurants. Tons of TVs to watch sports. Apps were overcooked chicken fingers ...a very good chicken quesadilla and some pita bread with a blah feta cheese dip. Very good selection of beers on a side note. I got the bayou chicken with pasta. A very tasty creamy dish with a hint of heat. One other dish was a bolognese that I'm told is very good. Rumor at bar was that the burgers were the best around. I did see a flatbread pizza that looked ok. Also the chips and salsa has the thin chips ...not sure if they are heated though. Overall a decent atmosphere and pub food. read more

The prices are overly high for what you get. The service is spotting, 1 moment it seems rather good, and just when you think that's how it is, then you're left alone, ignored, or half-hearted attention when it's not even busy. I was often confused about whether it was good or not. Drinks way overly iced, and not much drink. I came here with a friend, for my birthday. I don't know how to feel about it. Yeah, it's fancy, but is that what the price is for? If I was electing to spend my own money, I probably wouldn't come here, because the cost, price, and service was just not the value I'd have thought. The food and drinks, altho' pretty, were just OK. The service was mixed. Sometimes good, then suddenly nothing. We were so confused. It's like an emphasis on "the first impression" then slack off. But, "the first impression" comes off 1 way, then after the order is made, it's just not the same as when you just walked in. My friend got so perturbed, because she suffers from pain in her body, she had to get up, shake it off, then come back to sit down, 20 min later, and the server still hadn't returned, and she wanted the stuff she ordered & requested, which was stuff like condiments, eating utensils, napkins, and now just water, because drinks were really pricey, and still thirsty, (you know, the basis of stuff you're supposed to have, but were also requested multiple times, and assured to "be right back" then upon return still didn't do those basic things even with reminders & requests) and just getting antsy to just leave, but couldn't even do that, because she's just off somewhere else, do who knows what??? She didn't seem to be ill, didn't seem to be overworked or stressed, and I'm just TRYING to understand what's going on. I'm pretty lenient, but it just got really weird. I don't care to ever return. I'm sorry. I dislike writing bad reviews. I also don't like being harsh to workers, staff, employees, because I've worked service. I've also worked management, supervision, and owned businesses, and even worked customer service. For what my friend paid for of her own money, at my behest, I could've just waited for the following day and gone to "5 Guys" burgers, or the Brazilian joint down the street (which also has inflated prices), bought their expensive burgers, got a few drinks at the liquor store, and some sodas, been full, satisfied, satiated, and both myself and my friend could give each other authentic service to each other. read more

They were SO flexible and understanding about late arrivals/fluctuating number which I know is annoying. The food was all delicious and the server made great recommendations. This is more of a 3.5 stars but I don't think it deserves 4. I've been a couple times and service is pretty good. The food is decent, but it really depends what you order. The egg sandwich was essentially a puck like mold with eggs and cheese. That wasn't great, but the breakfast potatoes were delicious. I've had the Caesar salad with salmon that was good. They have speciality drinks and coffees if that's what you're looking for. It's great for a group but it is very poor so be prepared to struggle to hear others in your party. My friend and I both tried the steak and cheese Crunchwrap. My friend thought it too spicy but I thought it was fine. The chopped pepperoncini may have been the culprit for her. Great addition to Weymouth! They did a fantastic job renovating the space to have both indoor and outdoor seating. I've been here a few times since they opened and had a great experience every time! The first time I came here, my husband and I sat at the huge bar. We ordered pretzels and wings to start. The pretzels came with these apple slices on the side and I swear it was the BEST apple I ever tasted! For my entree, I got the steak & avocado salad and there was a whole avocado in it - yay! The next time I came here was with my girlfriends. We ordered some apps and then I got a burger. It was fantastic and cooked to a perfect medium-rare as requested. We waited a lot 30 minutes The Hostess station were polite and informative! They kept us informed and when table was ready we all were seated! We were greeted by our waitress NATALEE- who was the most pleasant and great to deal with since we had 6 hungry guests and she answered all our questions and even suggested what she thought was the Best Entre! Tavern in the Square is a new addition to this plaza in South Weymouth and it was a great place to watch the NBA Finals !! We ordered the crab rangoon dip, bbq pizza, elote pizza, some beers, & I got a shirley temple. The bbq pizza had great flavor, with corn and bacon. I liked it more than the elote pizza but the elote pizza was also good. The elote pizza tasted lighter and just like eating elote corn on pizza. I was not the biggest fan of the crab rangoon dip. The wonton chips had a lot of sesame seeds and the chips, itself, were extremely hard, making it difficult to bite. I would get the bbq pizza again and watch a game here. read more

We made it to the new Tavern in weymouth down the street from south shore hospital and in the same plaza area as whole foods. We wanted to catch the game 5 Celtics and arrived to a packed house! The wait staff was super nice and got us a booth anyways without reservation as one of our party had a leg injury. We rooted for the Cs to a bunch of nice draft beers and grabbed the BBQ chicken pizza, and elote pizza. The pizza dough was good, flavors were bold so we finished those pretty quick crust and all. You know how some places the crust is hard and tastes like cardboard, certainly not the case here. We also got the crab rangoon dip. The dip itself was pretty good, tasted actual crab meat (normally made with imitation crab) but the chips i didn't really care for, had sesame seeds and such on it but chips were bland. This is a great addition to the area with plenty of parking and a nice interior. I went during a Celtics Finals game and it was very busy. I thought the service was good for how busy it was. The waitress did a good job checking up on our table. I think the food quality here is better then other TITS locations, hopefully they can maintain this level of quality and service. The burger was cooked perfectly, I asked for medium rare and it wasn't over or under cooked. The size is the patty is really good and the special sauce adds really good flavor. Takes forever to get initial service and then they never come back unless you wave them down. It has nothing to do with how busy the bar is either. When ordering food at the bar the server/runner comes out from behind you on the floor and makes it difficult to turn around so they can put the food down. Great addition to Weymouth, and rumor on the streets is another location is currently being built in Braintree. If you go here you HAVE to get their birthday cake donut balls. To go with them they also have a birthday cake shot you can get. I seriously think about these all the time. The restaurant is huge with a large bar area, but expect to wait for a table even on weeknights. Service is great and fast. Went here for dinner tonight seeing I work in Weymouth. We received very quickly and our waitress came over promptly We ordered two appetizers, the bang, bang, broccoli, and the pretzel. I think the cheese sauce needs a little bit more flavor as it was sort of bland maybe some spice. I noticed that there's no salt or pepper on the tables which I found a little strange Waitress came back about five minutes later with our entrées my wife got fish and chips and I got the mac & cheese with buffalo chicken I thought it was strange that the macaroni had a buffalo sauce drizzle rather than having the entire thing be coated in buffalo sauce. The chicken wasn't even coated in Buffalo sauce. The even Stranger thing is the dish tasted like pickle juice. My wife's fish and chips needed salt on the fries as well as the fish and was a little bland. Our waitress was very attentive, almost too attentive, checking in and asking if everything was OK around 7 to 10 times as if she was trying to rush us out. Do not door dash from here. I've given it multiple chances but they forget at least one item each time. Some occasions have been a whole plate. I know I broke two of the cardinal rules of eating out - don't try a restaurant right after it opens and don't try it on a holiday. But, the new Tavern in the Square in South Weymouth is next to my nail salon and an empty bar stool called to me as I was walking back to my car. Gabby was covering my end of the bar, service was very friendly and attentive despite the bar being fully seated and patrons waiting for tables also making orders with her. The red sangria was lovely, a nice blend instead of tasting solely of sugary fruit juices. I had the Side Caesar and the Bayou Chicken Pasta. The salad was cold and crisp, while the pasta was piping hot and flavorful. Delightfully spicy - just enough Cajun seasoning to make you enjoy every bite but not enough to make you stop eating, which my scale will shame me for tomorrow. The only mistep the entire meal was that the salad came out with the pasta but that is a minor timing issue and completely inconsequential on such a busy evening so close to opening. TLDR - very impressed with the food, service, and ambience so soon after opening. Will definitely go back and would recommend to friends. read more

The one with the black curly hair purposely did not come back to our end of the bar to serve us another drink because we were talking to a guy that she felt uncomfortable serving because he left his drink and went to the restroom and had him kicked out. It's your typical noisy clatter of a sports bar with some nice decorative touches to try and give the "tavern" vibe. If your on the side closest to the middle of the building, avoid looking up. The ceiling is seemingly falling apart and it looks line nets were haphazardly put in place to catch falling debris. For our food, my husband ordered the Bayou Chicken Pasta which has the option to add a starter salad for $8. We split a starter Caesar and it was good. No complaints, not over-dressed nor soggy. Good chunky croutons and fresh shaved Parmesan. The pasta had good flavor and the components were good. What would make this dish better would be too cut the chicken into smaller bites, make the sauce a little thicker as it was pretty liquidy, and chop up the jalapeños instead of leaving them whole. I ordered the Korean Crispy Chicken sandwich. the flavor was great, had a nice kick to it and the chicken was nice and crispy. The fries are slightly thicker than McDonald's fries but very similar. They tasted a bit old once they got cooler. Could be better. Overall we'll still be back to try other menu options. Also, I'm not sure when this ice embargo happened where restaurants no longer give you ice with your water, but please consider at least asking if you're not already going to serve it. Stopped in for lunch. Greeted by the hostess who sat up right away. Huge bar. Open tavern style decor. Well lit. Spacious, clean, nicely decorated. Comfortable booths and seating with ample access viewing to the many television screens over the bar that's located in the center of the restaurant. Nice date night spot or group to hang , get some grub, drinks and watch a game or two. Good extensive menu. Mari, our waitress was excellent, polite, courteous, professional, helpful and attentive. More like 3.5 stars if I'm being completely honest. I ordered the BBQ Chicken pizza - it was delicious! Never would have thought of corn on a pizza! The bacon was slightly charred, but not bad. Also had a mango margarita, which was delightful but somewhat overpriced for the small glass. The interior was nice and the place had a cool vibe; however, our server wasn't friendly at all, and it was weird to see the hostess walking around with a tablet marking what point each table was at in their meals - not subtle at all. I went to Tavern in the Square last Saturday night in Weymouth.We had a party of 5 as we were celebrating my birthday.We had to send back 3 meals for different reasons such as steak tips that were served to me red raw inside,my daughter ordered Salmon and received Chicken!We had Josh as our waiter and he seemed confused at times.When the bill came my daughter paid $150 with gift cards toward the bill and the balance with a credit card.When Josh returned he only put $30 of gift cards toward the bill! When my daughter questioned him he said that is all she gave him in gift cards!!! He clearly stole $120 worth of gift cards from us.I told Allison the general manager what he had done she still wanted us to pay the balance of the bill!!! I told her we weren't paying the bill and left the restaurant very upset at what had happened.Never going back there again!Beware if you dine there and get Josh as a waiter. read more
