I swung into this place when my first choice was too crowded. I'd never seen a restaurant at this location so I checked it out. The place has two large bars completely seperate from each other - which was a little strange - plus a downstairs that wasn't open yet but I'm told will have 9 pool tables and darts. When I mentioned the place smelled of varnish - they said they opened at 11 AM that day for the first time (3/27). I quickly forgot the smell and enjoyed a good selection of craft beers on draft plus the usual brews. The Weihenstephan Heffenweiss unfiltered wheat was exceptional. Jimmy - the bartender - was very helpful and I sampled a number of my top choices. For dinner I tried the fish and chips. It came out as a huge single piece of haddock. Really tasty. The fries were shoestring and average at best. The cole slaw was good but far to scant in quantity. The TV's are large and a good place to watch sports. I would not hesitate to return. read more

Went here tonight 6/6/14. Service was horrible. Waitress drops placemat on floor and still sets it in front of me. My wife gets a cloudy wine glass with lipstick all over the rim. Exchanged without apology. Som ordered sweet potato fries gets regular fries. Again exchanged without apology. Ordered several drinks that sat in the bar and I went up and got myself. Waitress was young and very inexperienced but looked around and unfortunately she has nobody to teach her. They were all terrible including the bartenders and manager. Big thumbs down. read more

This place never disappoints! We have been here 3 times now and love it more every time. Colleen (bartender) is amazing. She literally makes you feel like family. Cannot say a bad thing about this place. First, the wait staff and managers treat me well, very well. And they are not giving me any freebies to say that. They are ALL very, very polite people. Even the kitchen help are polite! (I have spoken to them outside when they were waiting for a ride). Second, their beer selection is broad and diverse. Which includes IPA's, Stouts, Porters, Lagers and Shandy's and more. I have yet to try all that they have. Third, I would like to say that there food is great, but I can't get past eating their fish sandwich, so I haven't tried many other dishes. But if it's like their fish sandwich, it's gotta' be good. I have even seen the manager eat the fish sandwich. (Obviously, I like fish). Fourth, they have three very large rooms. 1. Is the family dining room, 2. Is the young crowd room, AND 3. My favorite - the game room. Nine regulation pool tables, plus darts and other games. Fifth, their prices are very competitive on both food and drink. Sixth, the ambience for all three rooms is a Okay. Seventh, they will do special requests, if they have the time (not super busy). Went for lunch on a sunny and warm afternoon. We ate outside. The food was ok, typical bar food, nothing life changing. The drinks were not bad. We did get a look inside, it was dark and damp. The place just seemed cold for the middle of the day. The patio where we sat is parallel to route 1A... Not such a great location. It was quite loud and noisy. Went my first time for a function downstairs, bartenders right off the bat had a terrible attitude and couldn't be more miserable. I was at a family/friend party and they were checking id's like it was a nightclub, very annoying. This place is great! Plenty of beers to choose from on tap and the help is friendly and knowledgeable. There are three separate areas to this place and each has its own feel. One smaller more quaint bar, a bigger bar on the other side and then a large downstairs with a bar, pool tables and dart boards. Plenty of T.V.'s throughout the whole place and it is a great place to watch a game. I have not had the food yet so this review is solely based on having drinks at the bar and the nightlife.This is a great place to go with friends and have a few drinks and if you feel like doing more head downstairs. read more

I've been to this place many times over the last couple of years. I was getting fed up quite honestly. The previous manager was way over her head and the place was going downhill fast. Then a few weeks ago on a Friday night. I went in with a friend and found out there was a new manager. I got to meet her and was delighted to see that she is committed to bringing the place up to its potential. They started kareoke on Tuesdays and Fridays. She said she has more changes on the way. The reason for the three stars is because of the past. After meeting Rachel. If ownership allows her the freedom to implement her plans, I have no doubt my rating will move up to the 5 star category. That and the hopes that the pool tables will receive some serious well needed maintenance. That and maybe a reduction in price per game. I can't see paying any more than $1.25/game. $1.75 is just way out of line. The whole staff seems to like Rachel. And if you ever get to meet her, you will quickly understand why. Not only does she have a very delightful personality. She is out on the floor cleaning tables and supporting the staff. In closing, I just want to say. Went there for our first time and sat at the bar with the weird set up. Who ever designed the bar must have been drinking there. What bartender uses drawers? Never mind that they are over the girls heads! You would need a ladder to even use them. Just silly! Actually, a tv would be great there. If you sit in the middle of the bar you have to look left or right to watch tv. The ladies at the bar were professional and very nice. The good? Not so good. I would give this place 10 stars on decor & friendliness of staff (waitresses + bartenders). The food kills it. The main dish was OK. The apps were a total joke & insulting to any decent restaurant. The chicken poppers were frozen & bagged like from a supermarket. They used a jarred thai-chili sauce that I have personally seen on the shelves of stores. The nachos also used jarred add on's. Went for dinner last night. Always a great atmosphere. Amazing food and a great beer selection. The chicken portobello is amazing.

Had Salmon Cioppino and it was excellent. Wife had clam chowder - delicious - & a fish sandwich. The only minor irritant was the young waitress calling my wife "love" every time she came over. At least she didn't say "guys." We are seniors and prefer a more professional approach even in a pub. Since it was Monday they offered free pool in the lower level. We have eaten in a couple of local pubs and this was the best food and the prices were reasonable. Worth a visit. read more

This is our go to place. We probably grab dinner and beers here a couple of times a month. Great burgers, bar pizzas, and beers. I recommend the Napper Burger medium. I am a regular customer here. Almost every time I come the service is awesome, the drinks and food are great, they have plenty of pool tables and dart boards, and the employees are friendly. I give two stars here for one exception though, that is the blonde bar tender who works on Fridays. I have been served by her a couple times now and every time she is very rude. She will always prioritize her friends over other customers, making myself and others wait while she has a conversation right in front of us. And she gives off an attitude to other customers, making me feel like she doesn't want to serve me or even be there. It's a shame, because I otherwise enjoy the atmosphere here. I will continue to be a regular visitor just not on Fridays. read more

I USE to LOVE this place. What a bomb. We ordered a burger and steak and goat cheese salad. I usually get the burger, but I was excited for the steak salad. My husband said the burger was bland. I told him that I was grateful that I didn't order it because I usually order the burger without the bun. My steak salad was terrible. I couldn't finish the steak, but I forced myself to eat at least half because I can't stand wasting food. The steak was charred on the outside and over cooked inside. I was hoping for med well, but it was over done, charred, and bland. Soooooooo sad. The food used to be great. I used to rush to order food "TO GO" here. I'm taking it off my local list. read more

We have gone regularly since this site opened in Walpole. We are newer residents and don't live too far from it - so of course, we were looking for our local watering hole. We bring our toddler and try to go early enough in the evenings during the week. There is usually the after-work crowd but we have a "usual" table and our service has always been decent. I like that they switch up the beer as well - though, I was told I was the only one who liked the Gingerbread beer so they got rid of it! Anywho - I was really only disappointed one time - the California Chicken Sandwich was missing the avocado and bacon and the buffalo chicken dip was just like a cheese sauce instead of chunky like usual. We live in Walpole and go to Napper's a lot so I feel like I have pretty reasonable expectations. This is a great bar- excellent beer selection, good atmosphere, ok food, fast service. I've never gotten a meal there that I was particularly wowed by and I have been dissapointed by a few options- for instance, the edamame stirfry should just be taken off the menu. The sauce is sickeningly sweet, couldn't honestly eat more than a few bites. The margherita pizza I got tonight was just disgusting...the tomatoes made the entire crust soggy to the point that it was just falling apart, it was gross. Margherita pizza is a basic- if you can't make it perfectly then you shouldn't be making pizza. On the other hand, their burgers are awesome and the shepherd's pie is yummy. The salads are good but overpriced for what you get. The appetizers are...well, bar food. So, I gave Napper's 3 stars because I love going there to have a few beers and hang out but the dinner options are somewhat lackluster... read more

New pub for Walpole but part of a small local pub chain. My wife and I had dinner there last night and first, the good. Started coming here a few weeks ago and i think i found my new spot. I dont usually write reviews but this place is a hidden gem. Food is awesome, great beer selection, and service was A+. It was very busy the Friday i came and there was karaoke. The DJ was the best i have ever seen he is so fun, entertaining, and interacts so well with everyone. Been there several times mostly to play pool/darts. Huge place, has 2 floors but only've been downstairs. There are lots of pool tables and good amount of dart boards. Darts are free, which is nice (but their quality isn't the best), and they have free pool nights weekly. The crowd seems okay with a few annoying people here and there but not too bad. Cues are pretty decent but some tables are a bit crooked. Drinks are okay, somewhat reasonably priced. We usually get pizza which is quite good for what it is. read more
