Tasting Room
Rich A.

Located in a non-descript building on Brockton Avenue in Abington across the street from Wal*Mart, 10th District Brewing Company offers a variety of tasty beers in their large tasting room. 10th District produces several types of tasty and fresh beer on-site - including IPAs, stouts, seasonally-inspired ales, and seltzers -- and rotates the selections on tap in the tasting room. Beers are available in 16 oz pours ($6-8) or try a flight of four 5 oz pours ($12) to sample several and pick your favorite, then grab a 64 oz or 32 oz growler or cans to go. Food is limited to hot pretzels ($5) served with mustard packets. When a local friend and I stopped by 10th District on a recent Saturday afternoon around 5pm, the tasting room was almost empty with only a handful of other patrons sitting at the bar and remained that way until we closed our tab and left around 6pm. We decided to get two flights to try all eight of the beers on tap. I went with the India Pale Ale. Double India Pale Ale, Pumpkin Ale, and Leo's Oil American Ale, while my drinking companion tried the Winter Ale, Extra Special Bitter, Jalepeno Cream Ale, and the Sour. Both of us enjoyed our beers .. giving them a solid 4 out of 5 stars for their smooth, consistent flavors. I thought the Pumpkin Ale was tasty, with a more subtle pumpkin taste than some of the mass-produced brands, and the IPA/DIPA were tasty without being over-hopped to hide other flavor deficiencies. We both agreed we'd go back next time I'm in the area.

So good I had to take some home !

Wow! Is all I can say. I wish I took more photos but I had my dog, bbq and beer so really no free hands. Boyfriend and I were planning on grabbing a quick drive through lunch but needed to stop at the liquor store in the same parking lot. I had never been in to 10th district brewing and didn't have plans to since I'm not a huge beer lover. I try all of my boyfriends fancy beers but hate the taste. Anywho he saw the bbq and I saw the outdoor space with entertainment so as soon as we found out they allowed dogs we agreed to pop in for a quick bite and beer. The outdoor space was great! Nice and private which is not what I expected on the busy street. The music was good , bbq was great and the staff working the beers were absolutely incredible. They seemed to know every customer there personally. It wasn't until I was approached by the same people that I realized they may not have known everyone there- they're just super nice and down to earth because they treated us the same as if they knew us! Back to the beer. As I mentioned I don't like brewery beer but I go for my fella. I got the apricot blonde beer which is a light beer described as easy to drink so I went with that. Holy crap I found a beer I Love!!!! I even went home with a four pack! Again the staff was so nice I would have probably returned even if I didn't like it. The inside was nice as well. I liked that they kept both front and rear doors open so if you are ok with eating inside you're still getting some fresh air. Very covid smart. 10 out of 10 !!!!!!

Jalapeño Cream Ale. Must try.

Suits me just fine as it gave me time to chat it up with the bartender. As more patrons arrived we enjoyed the friendly bar banter that ensued. The rich voice and great tunes by solo guitar player Ken Snow made the time even more enjoyable. I am a big fan of pairing music to drinking and the combination of great beers and tunes made for a 5 star experience. From the outside the space doesnt look that large but after you enter you come into a nice size and comfortable tap room with a good number of tables. The tanks and apparatus are in the back warehouse section not visible to patrons. A couple of TV's made watching the Sox game possible. I noticed a lot of breweries dont have TV's I think the cost is prohibitive and some bars say they want to promote patrons conversing like in the old days before tv. Not sure but to me a TV can fill in dead time and if there is an important event why not enjoy a brew and watch some. On the whole the beer was tasty. They had 10 beers on tap. A pretty solid if not standard line up. I started with the Hoppy Patriot and Deep End in the 2 flight sampler. Both beers are good. Then I tasted the Money Line before getting a pint to get the IPA's out of the way. It's a hazy New England brew that hits the spot. It was my favorite. One thing I noticed is that for the whole lineup the ABV's are on the lighter side if you call 7.0 for the Deep End light LOL Anyways we stayed for awhile more enjoying the music and beer and then had to head toward home with a last stop at Shovel Towns new beer garden in downtown Brockton. Not doing a review on that but its a pretty large outdoor spot with a stage and there was a reggae band playing. Decent crowd too. Great job by Shovel Town to get the beer stand there! Only open weekend nights I believe. if you find yourself in that area it's a clean safe oasis and I hope it leads to more renovations in the area.

This is a brewery with a Vietnamese flair. My husband ordered a beer and my daughter hit one of their special soda's which they both loved. I tried my daughter's cream soda and it was the best cream soda I've ever had. For food my husband had the Vietnamese steak and eggs, my daughter the chicken tenders and fries and I had the tofu pad Thai. All of our food was fresh and delicious. It's a sweet and sour beer. It's light, fruity and girly. Definitely something to order if you're not into beer 4/5. We also had the Frederick & main, another light beer. Definitely refreshing in this heatwave 4/5. We got to sample the red ale... Waaaayyy too strong for me! Customer service was amazing 5/5. All in all, I LOVED this spot. The Fermentary carries other local breweries' beer - Widowmaker, Vitamin Sea, Stellwagen, etc. They also carry all natural wines and have some snacks to munch on (the pretzel and queso are really good!). They made some nice upgrades. It seems brighter and maybe more seating. Only "negatives" we've seen are that they are very heavy on IPAs (mostly double and triples, the couple times we've been), which isn't too bad for us, because we really only drink IPAs, but if you're looking for a lager or an ale, your options might be limited. Also, they don't have cable, so if it's a local game you're trying to catch, you'll be out of luck. Notice they've had some events held there - seems like it would be a great spot for that (nice open space with fireplace and tv). This will definitely be our go-to for a laid back afternoon/early evening, quick drink or two. Definitely check it out!

It was a mixed bag of responses from our group, seated past any lunch rush in a nearly empty dining room. A day after St. Patrick's day, I tried a special of Beef Stew. I found it was . . . meh at best, A little too salty for my taste, and it seemed to be getting down to the end of it. One potato wedge, 2 carrot slices, a few bobbles of stew beef and a lot of thick, over-salted stew. The accompanying wedge of soda bread had 2 hefty butter slices that couldn't save the dryness, but Irish soda bread is always a hit or miss prospect. On the other hand, a takeout Wedge Salad had everything I could dream of putting on a wedge of iceberg, accompanied by a healthy piece of delicious salmon that was cooked perfectly. A Reuben sandwich was full and seemed to please one of our party- the most difficult one to please - and the giant pile of french fries that cozied up to it looked like twice-cooked salty goodness. The third in our party had a simple Garden Salad that, like the Wedge, looked like it was a good salad. Coffee was good, and served alongside a little tray of a petite creamer, sugar and a single spoon was just a simple but sweet touch on a gloomy day. For me, the standout was the responsive waitstaff- servers were professional, informative about the menu and friendly without being overly pushy to order - the best combination. Overall, it was good and probably would be a lot better with more careful menu choices next time. And I'll definitely return for another Wedge Salad!

This place has a neighborhood bar and grill feel with a nice driving range (and pro shop) out back. In my opinion, it's a 5-star atmosphere with 4-star food and drinks. We visited on a Thursday night and the place was PACKED. The parking lot was completely full with cars overflowing onto the side of the main road outside. I can't imagine how crazy it is on the weekend. We got on the waiting list after finally finding parking, and it was about 45 minutes until we got a table. No complaints though since it was the perfect amount of time for my husband to hit the driving range, and there's a little outdoor bar where you can grab a drink while you wait. There's lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and while there were people of all ages drinking, golfing, or enjoying a meal, it's all definitely very family-friendly with lots of kids running around. The food itself was actually better than we expected, though a bit overpriced. I get the sense people are really coming here for the golf and the vibes more than anything else. Since that's what we were expecting, we were pretty satisfied with the quality of the wings, fried haddock sandwich, and strawberry salad we split. I also tried the Cool As a Cucumber cocktail and was super happy with it. Not too sweet and nice and refreshing on a hot day sitting outside. With lots of golfers in my family, I have a feeling this won't be our last visit!

I'm a bourbon/Old Fashioned drinker, and this store sells three different brands of maraschino cherries/bourbon cherries, which is truly outstanding, when you consider that very few liquor stores carry any maraschino cherries at all. Now, keep in mind that you're pretty much on-your-own in this huge store. I've been shopping here for over 10 years, and not once has anyone ever asked me if I need help finding anything (and there have been times when I did). This is the "Home Depot" of liquor stores, and in that sense, you'd better know what you want, and you'd better know where to find it. No one's going to ask you. If you don't know where to find what you're looking for, be prepared to wander the aisles for a while until you do. In terms of selection, Luke's just can't be beat.
