[Out-of-Towner Review]…read more Obsessed with this cider! I stumbled upon this cider at a local restaurant and had to seek out the Cider House a few visits later. I will say, it is very hole-in-the-wall, no-frills cider tasting (and enjoying). I love how patrons are amongst the product stacked on pallets. I love how they have so many tasting to offer, on any given visit. Because I love their cider, I just love everything else about my visit here. I travel for work, so I end up doing things solo a lot. This was no exception. I found it every easy to maneuver as a solo guest. There was plenty of space and tables for patrons and the tasting bar is also spacey. The staff was kind, funny, and rambunctious, as you'd expect at a Cider House. There are no frills and just good 'ol cider to enjoy! Driving here, since I'm unfamiliar with this area of Boston, was a little hard to get here. I was a little thrown off, but I should have guessed it would be a warehouse style place. My bad! Tons of parking and I even saw an area with cute string lights and what I'm assuming were food trucks, but I didn't wander over there. If y'all could please make your way to California, it would be cool!

I do miss the days when the samples were free, but I totally understand why they no longer do that. Staff is always friendly! We no longer live in the area, but we visit whenever we're back in town.

While this location is located about a 15 minute walk from the main downtown area of Salem, the walk is pretty easy. We got there around 2:30 3 o'clock on a Saturday afternoon and the location was fairly steady. They did have live music as well. We both ordered the honeydew slushy and absolutely loved it. I wish there was a way to be able to ship it to Florida as it was so amazing. I also got a flight so I could try some of the new ciders that I hadn't had before. Or all they were good I think my favorite was the broken heart and the Collab for the dog adoption.

It seems they rotate them pretty frequently. The bad- the atmosphere. Maybe we got them at a bad time, but it was DEAD inside. The floors and walls were cement, it felt like we were drinking in an unfinished basement. If the place had some more decor and a few more patrons we might have stayed longer. But we drank our flights fast and Ubered out. The bar is a bit far from downtown. It's walkable, but after two days of 20k steps an Uber was in order.

The person working the bar explained the tasting menu and there were more options to choose from than expected. Our surprising favorite of both flights was the balsamic infusions! And honestly, you can feel the good energy when you walk in. Other reviewers rave about the atmosphere and service, and I get it. The team is warm, the space is inviting, and the whole experience feels very "local gem." But here's where the 3‑star reality sets in: the flavors all start blending together. For a cidery/meadery with such a big menu, I expected more range. Instead, most pours land in the same sweet‑leaning zone, making it tough to distinguish one from the next. After a few sips, everything felt like variations on the same theme. Not bad -- just not memorable. If you're new to cider or prefer sweeter profiles, you'll probably love it. But if you're hoping for bold contrasts, dry options, or something that really stands out, the lineup might feel a little one‑note. Still, the staff is great, the vibe is relaxed, and it's a fun stop if you're already exploring Westerly. With a bit more variety in the flavor profiles, this could easily jump to a 4‑star spot. Cheers
