It's another one of those places that you are not sure about when you arrive. But it had good reviews so we went in and I'm glad we did. Service was wonderful. I couldn't believe how much food we got on our plates. My husband had the corned beef hash with a biscuit and I had the steak breakfast tacos. I brought most of the potatoes home and had them the next day. The coffee was great as well.

Thank you for the birthday surprise pancakes. The food and service are always amazing!

Trendy's is my go to place for brunch. I'm addicted to their steak breakfast tacos. Thank you for surprising me with a birthday pancake. The flavor was so tasty I thought about the pancake during the day. The staff and food are wonderful.

We don't really have old-school diners with an authentic Americana quality in my city, so I was very interested in trying Trendy's during my stay in Redding. The servers were super friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and there was a steady stream of regulars while I was here. I was initially excited for my meal but the food wasn't to my taste. The menu states that classic plates and omelettes come with garlic herb potatoes and choice of toast, biscuit, or pancake. My corned beef hash plate ($16.50) was pretty lackluster and underseasoned. The corned beef was mushy and more fine textured than what I'm accustomed to. However, the potatoes in my hash were decently browned and my eggs were cooked over easy as requested. The pancake was fluffy and came with pats of salted butter, but the pancake itself tasted like it was made from a mix. A server kindly brought over some homemade mixed berry, strawberry, and mango jams that made the pancake more interesting to eat. The warmed bottle of syrup on the table was a thoughtful touch. I didn't get a side of garlic herb potatoes with my plate, so I asked a server about it and they said my corned beef hash was already made with potatoes so it wasn't included. Maybe the menu wasn't updated or there was a misunderstanding, but I do see that another user posted their corned beef hash plate which did come with the garlic herb potatoes. My dining companion ordered the "pearl waffle" plate ($13.50) which had 2 Liège style waffles, whipped cream, and fruit. I ate some of the waffle and enjoyed crunching on the pearl sugar. It was nice with a smear of jam. The waffles are pretty small so if you have a hearty appetite, you might want to order an additional side. They ordered some scrambled eggs ($4.50) to round out their meal and said the eggs were fine. I don't think I'll be coming back but I definitely see why it's a local favorite. It's just not the best breakfast place for me and that's okay! Some non-food details: friendly and efficient service, indoor and outdoor seating, and decent amount of onsite parking + street parking available if needed.

Had the BEST Monte Cristo I have EVER had! We're in Redding for the weekend and turned to Yelp to find a breakfast spot--so glad it led us to Trendy's! The reviews were spot on because Trendy's did NOT disappoint. I love a good Monte Cristo and have tried a lot of them, but this one is hands-down the best I've ever had. The ham and turkey tasted like something straight out of grandma's kitchen on a special holiday, the cheese was melted perfectly, and the bread-to-meat-to-cheese ratio was absolute perfection. The service was just as amazing--Alma, our waitress, suggested I try the mango jam with it. I was hesitant (I'm usually a berry jam girl), but WOW... it was so good I ended up taking some home! My husband ordered the BEN sandwich and said it was delicious. He also had the fresh-squeezed orange juice, which brought back sweet memories of his grandma making it for him in a little amber glass when he was younger. Portion sizes are generous, prices are fair, and parking was easy--which is always a win. If you're passing through or local to the area, make sure you stop by Trendy's for breakfast or brunch. There's a reason they have so many great reviews! *REVIEW UPDATE* It was so good the first time we went back today! My Husband had the steak tacos and said they were AMAZING! I have a sensitive tummy and sometimes finding a good mix of carbs and protein can be a challenge. I ordered just a scrambled egg and since the turkey in the Monte Cristo was so good I ordered turkey all by itself for an added little protein! Dipped it in their homemade jam of course! For my carbs I ordered a pancake. (Kind of apprehensive about that from a prior review I read...) that review was way off! If that pancake was from a box please let me know who makes it cause it was so fluffy and yummy! As we sat outside we saw many people come in and out and the employees greeted many of them by name! I almost wish I lived closer so I could be a regular too! Sorry no pics This time as we are before we thought about it!

Stopped in Redding for a night on our drive from the Bay Area to Seattle and this looked like a really solid brunch spot! It did not disappoint -- we ordered the chicken apple sausage as well as the California Breakfast Burrito with country potatoes. The chicken apple sausage was delicious, and I would definitely reorder if I came here again. My husband also loved his breakfast burrito, especially with the spicy salsa (they also have a mild option). He was a bigger fan of the country potatoes than I was. We also had the cinnamon swirl pancake and panko-crusted french toast on the side. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pancake as I found there were too many walnuts in it for me to enjoy, so I think next time I'd try their sweet cream pancake instead. The french toast was definitely a standout though and super unique. The panko crust added the perfect crunchy texture and the sourdough gave it a solid structure that held up well with both syrup and their house jams (I recommend trying the peach jam if it's in season!). Definitely don't miss out on the french toast! Overall would stop by again if I'm in the area.

Came here for breakfast after taking to Yelp to find a nice local spot that wasn't a mediocre chain. Trendy's was the highest rated breakfast spot, and had classics that everyone in the group would like, so Trendy's it was! We were helped by Mary, who was very friendly and gave great customer service! The food was talking a while because it was packed, so she brought out our pancakes a little early so we could have something to snack on while we waited for the rest. My boyfriend and I shared the Huevos con Chillies Omelet and Corn Beef Hash, with a biscuit as our side for one and a pancake for the other. Both breakfasts were good, with the corned beef hash being my favorite of the two. The portions were a good size to fill you up, and the prices reasonable. It was Father's Day, so the place was filled with families celebrating. Even though it was quite crowded, we only had about a 10 minute wait to get seated. They have seating inside and out, but Redding is hot, so we opted for inside - otherwise it would've been even quicker to get seated. This spot is pretty hidden and nowhere near the areas of Redding we frequent when visiting, so very glad I found them on Yelp!

We stopped by for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was warmly welcomed upon entering by one of the servers. She told us to grab an open table and someone would be with us shortly. Our server came over with in a few minutes and asked if we had looked at Menu and wanted to order: Our food arrived quickly looked amazing and tasted even better. If in the area, I highly recommend it.

Dope little breakfast diner with friendly service and solid food. We got both the norcal burrito and the breakfast tacos. The burrito was solid, but I'd HIGHLY recommend getting the breakfast tacos. Those were hella bomb. We also go the panko french toast, which I thought was decent. It was nothing special, just your standard french toast with panko breading, but still yummy. We went here on a Sunday morning around 1030ish and while it was a bit busy, definitely wasn't overcrowded and they had no problem with seating us promptly. There's plenty of parking as well, so that wasn't an issue. I'll definitely plan on coming back if I'm ever in the Redding area and wanting breakfast/brunch.

One of those small out of the way jewels that you find once in a while with absolutely amazing food and service! Huge portions! My wife had the Locomotive omelette. An egg omelette filled with meat, veggies and cheese, served with cottage potatoes and a biscuit bigger than a man's fist and their homemade jelly. My son had the Mt Shasta. A generous serving of scrambled eggs, mixed with ham, potatoes and cheese. Served with a pancake that was as big as a plate. He's a 17 year old and a big eater and could not finishe the whole thing. I had the Cortez with steak. Basically a bowl full of eggs mixed with corn tortillas (or Texas Migas) added steak that was amazingly tenders If you're in Redding this is the breakfast spot! We're talking about goi g back to try their burger!

Trendy's is a "hometown" diner serving breakfast and lunch. The staff make you feel right at home with welcoming smiles and attentive service. We sat outside to enjoy the morning sun, the for folding chairs they were comfortable, and the chairs and tables clean. The food was delicious, especially the omelette and the pancakes, syrup & butter (it was soft :) and easy to spread) are not necessarily needed- the pancake was light, fluffy, and buttery sweet. Whether you're a local or passing through Trendy's is a great choice and sure to become a favorite!!

We came here early on a Tuesday morning at 9am, it was just us and another party of two. A local mom and pop breakfast spot. Plenty of parking. Our server was nice and sweet and attentive. We ordered the chicken fried steak with a side of pancake and the trendy burrito. Chicken fried steak was yummy and breaded well with a good amount of gravy. The burrito was your normal bfast egg and bacon. Would come to support local again!

We came here on a weekday and the place filled up with a trickle and was pretty full by like 930 am. We ordered a French toast plate and the chia pudding. We also ordered a coffee and orange juice. In total, the bill was over $50 and so it was not cheap. The food itself was just ok. The French toast was much more eggy than we thought it should be, and on the drier side. The chia pudding was fine, nothing special, but it did come with some fruit and granola. Overall, we thought the food was just ok. The service was kind and helpful, though. There is plenty of parking up front and on the side streets.

Trendy's is the best breakfast spot we have been to in Redding. We've tried the waffles, Panko pancakes (yea that's right PANKO PANCAKES) potatoes, and breakfast burritos and everything is amazing. The employees are the sweetest and want to ensure your experience there is a positive one which really shows. The restaurant itself is DARLING. Trendys just keeps getting better and better! I already gave it 4 stars but now have to upgrade it to 5. We had breakfast with friends yesterday morning. Delicious food. I had a really good experience here. I tried the Trendwich breakfast sandwich but with bacon instead of sausage and extra aioli. It was just what I was hoping for! The potatoes were slightly cool but very tasty and cooked to the perfect consistency. The fresh orange juice was also a treat. They also appeared to be following safety guidelines with tables spaces apart inside and servers all wearing masks. I will visit again! read more

Visited on our way home to Oregon. Based on the reviews thought it would be a great choice. The place was consistently busy which is always a good sign. We sat at the counter and it was a great opportunity to watch all the staff function as the well oiled machine they obviously are. Food was great, loved the fried potatoes. I was traveling through Redding with my mom and she refused to eat at Back Bear- I'm so glad she did! I then looked to Yelp to find us the perfect place for breakfast or lunch. Trendy's came up highly recommended and was only 7 mins away. The place was small, adorable and clean! We were greeted right when we walked in the door with a smile and a woman saying "sit anywhere you like ladies". Food came out fast and it looked incredible! My mom ordered breakfast- fruit, eggs, chicken sausage and a pancake. I ordered the chicken caprese sandwich- out of this world! Hungry on I-5? Call ahead for a tasty meal. Our order was ready in 10 minutes - instead of fries, fruit is an option, and it's hand-cut and very fresh. I had the TBT and ny husband had the Spring Special chorizo burger. Both were great. Tables and counter seating indoors, and tables with umbrellas outside. Very friendly staff. read more

Lucked into this gem! Wow superb food. I wasn't expecting to be wowed but I was ! The home made biscuit was fluffy and the size of a saucer! The potatoes just the right amount of crispy. Delicious eggs and sausage too. My vegan friend had the veggie scramble with no egg and was equally pleased. Good, strong coffee rounded out our meals. I'll be back if I'm ever in Redding. This place is AMAZING. I was super hungry walking in and there was a bit of a wait, but it was definitely worth every minute. Trendy's is the best breakfast spot in town. There are other good joints that I frequent, but when I think of breakfast in Redding, CA, I think of Trendy's. First off, I'm Mexican, so growing up I've eaten my fair share (and then some) of chorizo and eggs. When I was younger, I used to LOVE when mom would make chorizo and egg burritos. They were easy to eat with my little Joseph hands and were always exploding with flavor. As I got older we would visit some breakfast spots and I'd order chorizo and eggs because I loved them so much. Unbeknownst to little Joseph, not everyone makes chorizo and eggs the way mom does... The eggs would be too runny, the chorizo wouldn't be cooked, the flavor would be bland as can be, and all that was left in front you would be a huge plate of disappointment and tortillas (because tortillas are never disappointing). Sadly, I learned at an early age that chorizo and eggs is something you should never order at a restaurant. So, my first several visits to Trendy's I'd tried their bananas foster oatmeal (excellent), their linguisa and eggs (excellent), their corned beef hash (excellent), steak and eggs (excellent) and I'm sure some others, but always excellent. I took my mom here the first time she came to visit from LA, and she decided she would order the chorizo and eggs. Immediately my mind was flooded with my traumatic experiences and I prayed that G-d would have mercy on her poor soul. The food came out, and as I'm taking my first bite, all I hear from mom is "WOW!" That's my mom's usual expression when something is too spicy followed by her fanning her mouth, so I thought maybe that was the case. I was wrong. "That's some of the best chorizo and eggs I've ever had!" she says. Now, again, my mom makes awesome chorizo and eggs, so for her to say that, that some pretty high compliments. She urged me to try it so I mustered up the courage, placed all my fears behind me, and moved my fork towards her plate. Son. Of. A. Biscuit (always get the biscuit at Trendy's with jalapeño jelly. Quick pro tip for you). My mouth burst with excitement just like it used to when I ate mom's chorizo and eggs -- nay, more so. Not to say my mom's cooking is bad, but the chorizo Trendy's uses isn't your run of the mill grocery store chorizo. This stuff is much better quality and genuinely the best I've ever had. I've eaten chorizo in Mexico that wasn't as good. After our meal, we asked the staff where they source it from and they were kind enough to share that information with us. The food here is as good as everyone has said. We came in for breakfast and got two omelettes. They were huge and delicious. The veggies in my omelette could've been cooked a little longer but it was busy so everyone seemed a little rushed. Our server was awesome and friendly but one of the girls running food and refilling coffee had an attitude which is why I couldn't give 5 stars. I thanked her for refilling my coffee and she just kinda smirked and walked away. That wasn't the only time she was rude but it's the example that stands out. In any event, everything else really was great and I was impressed with how clean it was. Definitely order the biscuit and try the homemade jam! read more

Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. Portions were large, food was all homemade. Roll with jalapeño jelly was light and full of flavor. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs and red potatoes. Every thing was seasoned to perfection. My husband had eggs, ham and bacon, potatoes and hot cakes. Because the portions were so large we were only able to eat half of what we got. Meet the Business Owner: Cupertina G.

As of February 2020 Trendy's was purchased by the current owners of Joe's Giant Orange (a thriving north Redding / Shasta Lake I5 staple restaurant!) The new owners bring over 35 years experience in the restaurant industry combined with their love of delicious food and desire to put smiles on their customers faces! No one loves food more than the owner and head chef Ruben, he has been cooking with his heart & soul for over 35 years, and his wife Cupertina has been serving their customers with a smile and running the business for over 10 years. When they heard this past December that the previous owners of Trendy's were thinking about selling their restaurant, they jumped at the opportunity to own a slice of iconic downtown Redding's thriving food scene! Since the beginning of February they have worked side by side with the previous owners of Trendy's, and have perfected the recipes and the menu, and are working hard to deliver mouth watering food with amazing service!

Let's start with In store ordering is the only way to order from them. The food is really really good, fresh, fairly quick and moderately priced. It's worth the cost for what you get. Ordering Togo can have mistakes and ordering for delivery, well continue reading. Now.... I Would not recommend ordering from their 'From the Hearth' app. When you download it and order from it it seems as though it's an app they monitor and delivery would be private. It's DoorDash that the 'ordering/payment/delivery it actually goes through. Here's where it gets frustrating. On DoorDash app when an order is incorrect you can file a claim and get a refund. You cannot do that with this app, nor is there anyone to help you through From the Hearth side and it's missing the DoorDash side. I've done several home deliveries through the app and mostly items were correct, a few times fries or sauces, added ingredient's to a dish we're missing and we'd than have to go to the store to get them, which is manageable but the experience I'd like to really share is: I made a $175 order to feed my family and friends that were in town. It took over 2.5hrs to finally get delivered to us, it even got delivered to the wrong house and when trying to get it figured out through From the Hearth staff they treated me as if I was lying and would not remake the food nor refund me. The food was literally "missing" and I was told I had to go through the subsidiary (DoorDash) that's when I learned it was not their app and they had no responsibility once it left their store. But really for me, It was the way the From the Hearth staff responded to the incident that truly baffles me and makes me not eat there anymore. I use to frequent the business several times a month, this was extremely rude and made me very disappointed. I would NOT recommend them based on their customer service by this experience.
