Food was so fresh tasted like something your best friend mom made I heard people talking about their Philly cheesesteak sandwich

Amazing food very fresh ingredients. I heard people talking about their Philly cheesesteak sandwich. I will be back soon with friends and family to eat at.Corbett's Restaurant

Saturday brought a new group of family to Redding and we chose Corbett's. They have a convenient downtown location in the middle of everything. Good size for small and large parties alike, we were greeted and seated swiftly. The server was very knowledgeable on the menu and what she did not know she asked rather than making up an answer. As you can see the portion sizes are large and almost shareable. My daughter's Benedict Sauce was awesome, my son's biscuit cream sauce good too. I asked for spicy and while it wasn't mind blowing (my fav) it was full of flavor with a bite. When you are thinking of a place to dine in Redding, put Corbett's to the head of the class.

If you're in the old downtown part of Redding as opposed to the new sprawled out strip mall area east of the 5 freeway, this is a good choice for breakfast. Parking is a bit of a pain in the downtown area, but thank goodness Corbett's has it's own parking lot. Breakfast does seem to be the main draw here ... no dinner served. I came here with one friend and he had the omelet, I forget which one, but it covered half the plate along with a big portion of hashbrowns. I love hashbrowns instead of those "country potatoes". He enjoyed the omelet and potatoes. I had the chicken fried steak slathered in a wonderful gravy. OK, not the healthiest breakfast, but what the heck every once in a while. Service was just fine and friendly. If I'm in the area, I'd come here again, maybe the lunches would be something to try.

Ordered the philly cheese steak & hot pastrami sandwich, both where phenomenal. Ambiance was great, warm, comfortable. Waitress was in top of service .

Corbetts was delicious and can't believe I waited this long to try them. My sandwich was very moist and fresh along with the sweet potato fries. Service was friendly and quick. Felt very cozy and loved they had a decent size menu with a variety . I can't wait to go back !

Hungry. Then I suggest the House Omelette. It was superb! Spinach, diced tomatoes, green onions, black olives, and an Artichoke Cream Cheese!! Not a long await. Food was great, staff friendly. Glad I found this place. You won't be disappointed!!

All we could not eat because it was so bad.

The restaurant is cute, conveniently located down town but the first red flag was there were no cars. Red flag #2 was the homeless gathering up their stuff in the parking lot, they were the only homeless we saw downtown. We walked in and there were 2 people eating breakfast. Both servers were so friendly just great at what they did and so personable. I could review them separately I would. My husband ordered the tri-tip omelette special. I ordered the Carve Master Ham and Eggs. The ham was a good size slice with more fat than I have ever seen...the eggs were way overdone and inedible, the hash browns were great, the biscuit was frozen and microwaves mush, the gravy was powered. Plus I had to use my first napkin to blot up all the grease. Now the omelette...could it have been worse? Not really. The first bite was mediocre, then the meat...every bite was full of gristle and inedible. Every bite of meat had to be spit out. Five bites in and it was just too terrible to eat. The server asked what was wrong...we told her and she tried to get part refunded., We could hear the person in the back arguing with the server. I think they took off $7 so this terrible, inedible breakfast cost us over $30. We tipped the server because she tried. Avoid this place.

The servers were super friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and there was a steady stream of regulars while I was here. I was initially excited for my meal but the food wasn't to my taste. The menu states that classic plates and omelettes come with garlic herb potatoes and choice of toast, biscuit, or pancake. My corned beef hash plate ($16.50) was pretty lackluster and underseasoned. The corned beef was mushy and more fine textured than what I'm accustomed to. However, the potatoes in my hash were decently browned and my eggs were cooked over easy as requested. The pancake was fluffy and came with pats of salted butter, but the pancake itself tasted like it was made from a mix. A server kindly brought over some homemade mixed berry, strawberry, and mango jams that made the pancake more interesting to eat. The warmed bottle of syrup on the table was a thoughtful touch. I didn't get a side of garlic herb potatoes with my plate, so I asked a server about it and they said my corned beef hash was already made with potatoes so it wasn't included. Maybe the menu wasn't updated or there was a misunderstanding, but I do see that another user posted their corned beef hash plate which did come with the garlic herb potatoes. My dining companion ordered the "pearl waffle" plate ($13.50) which had 2 Liège style waffles, whipped cream, and fruit. I ate some of the waffle and enjoyed crunching on the pearl sugar. It was nice with a smear of jam. The waffles are pretty small so if you have a hearty appetite, you might want to order an additional side. They ordered some scrambled eggs ($4.50) to round out their meal and said the eggs were fine. I don't think I'll be coming back but I definitely see why it's a local favorite. It's just not the best breakfast place for me and that's okay! Some non-food details: friendly and efficient service, indoor and outdoor seating, and decent amount of onsite parking + street parking available if needed.

This particular location (Churn Creek Rd.) is the best out of all 3 stores in the city in regards to interior and general vibes. The prices are a bit high, but in contrast to its contenders, I know what I'm getting and I'm happy when I go. My personal favorite is the Peruvian Steak Sandwich (specifically with subbed-in sourdough bread) and truffle fries. Sizing of things like the fries admittingly have shrank since I first went three years ago sadly. I have yet to have anything bad off the menu that didn't please my tastebuds. (It also has working machines for their lemonade options compared to the College View location. Those drinks are an absolute huge plus!)

When asking if they use tamari or gluten free soy sauce, she said she wasn't sure and pointed to a list of salad dressing options that were marked. Not their rice bowls toppings - heads up- it's regular soy sauce. Also since I was asking all the gluten free questions, it would have been nice to be informed that the tacos were also served on flour tortillas. Not the cashier or the menu indicated this. Luckily I do not have a severe allergy, or I'd be furious. Obviously this place is a bakery, so there's gluten everywhere. I'm not mad, honestly. Just a little disappointed. Any information is best. I got the chimichurri steak tacos, which are covered in chipotle aioli - I'd honestly rename them to be chipotle steak tacos. Get zero chimichurri, the aioli completely takes over. I do like the steak isn't tough though, so still get some points for the attempt. For me, and my gluten sensitivity, probably won't be back since there aren't many options that are actually gluten free.
