Update 6/28/24 Corbett's restaurant is a local family restaurant in Redding. It is a great place for breakfast or lunch. We haven't had dinner there yet. We visited Corbett's for breakfast. The service was excellent, and the servers work as a team to keep make sure our coffees and beverages were kept full. Our server was very helpful, and friendly. The ambiance has the feeling of a typical locally ownned diner. Not fancy, just comfortable. Our breakfast was prepared and served in a timely manner. Every breakfast dish we ordered was prepared perfectly, and was very delicious. Fresh Corned beef hash and eggs - 4/5 The eggs were prepared perfectly over easy. The corned beef was very tasty, not dry. The hash browns were perfect. It had a crispy crust, and soft interior. Overall, a very nice breakfast selection. House Scramble - 4/5 A very nice egg scramble for breakfast. The House Scramble consist of Italian sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions topped with jack cheese. All combined for a very savory breakfast. I would order this again on our next visit. Lobster Benedict - 3/5 This selection consist of two English Muffins topped with two perfectly prepared poached eggs, tomato slices, with sautéed spinach and lobster. We asked for the hollandaise sauce on the side. The quantity in this lobster Benedict was limited. That said, this selection was still good. Overall, Corbett's is a very good local restaurant to visit when in Redding. We will continue to go to Corbett's for breakfast or lunch when we are in Redding. read more

Saturday brought a new group of family to Redding and we chose Corbett's. They have a convenient downtown location in the middle of everything. Good size for small and large parties alike, we were greeted and seated swiftly. The server was very knowledgeable on the menu and what she did not know she asked rather than making up an answer. As you can see the portion sizes are large and almost shareable. My daughter's Benedict Sauce was awesome, my son's biscuit cream sauce good too. I asked for spicy and while it wasn't mind blowing (my fav) it was full of flavor with a bite. When you are thinking of a place to dine in Redding, put Corbett's to the head of the class. read more

If you're in the old downtown part of Redding as opposed to the new sprawled out strip mall area east of the 5 freeway, this is a good choice for breakfast. Parking is a bit of a pain in the downtown area, but thank goodness Corbett's has it's own parking lot. Breakfast does seem to be the main draw here ... no dinner served. I came here with one friend and he had the omelet, I forget which one, but it covered half the plate along with a big portion of hashbrowns. I love hashbrowns instead of those "country potatoes". He enjoyed the omelet and potatoes. I had the chicken fried steak slathered in a wonderful gravy. OK, not the healthiest breakfast, but what the heck every once in a while. Service was just fine and friendly. If I'm in the area, I'd come here again, maybe the lunches would be something to try. read more

First off, I've been here many times when driving through Redding and have always been more than happy with the food and service. UNFORTUNATELY, I can't say that this time. One of us had MAJOR JAW RECONSTRUCTION surgery and ordered Hueveos Rancheros with no onions or peppers and the eggs cooked soft. They were very well cooked eggs and loaded onions and peppers. She could barely eat these and had to pick through the eggs to pull out the onions &peppers. (WTF!). She also had a biscuit but no butter was brought, it had to be requested....and it was forgotten. By the time it was remembered, it was a cold biscuit. She was able to eat the refried beans and inside of the biscuit with cold butter and jelly. They did take a whopping $3.99 off a$14.00 bill. The food did taste really good, but I won't bring my cousin back since she has issues with what she can and cannot eat! read more

The restaurant is cute, conveniently located down town but the first red flag was there were no cars. Red flag #2 was the homeless gathering up their stuff in the parking lot, they were the only homeless we saw downtown. We walked in and there were 2 people eating breakfast. Both servers were so friendly just great at what they did and so personable. I could review them separately I would. My husband ordered the tri-tip omelette special. I ordered the Carve Master Ham and Eggs. The ham was a good size slice with more fat than I have ever seen...the eggs were way overdone and inedible, the hash browns were great, the biscuit was frozen and microwaves mush, the gravy was powered. Plus I had to use my first napkin to blot up all the grease. Now the omelette...could it have been worse? Not really. The first bite was mediocre, then the meat...every bite was full of gristle and inedible. Every bite of meat had to be spit out. Five bites in and it was just too terrible to eat. The server asked what was wrong...we told her and she tried to get part refunded., We could hear the person in the back arguing with the server. I think they took off $7 so this terrible, inedible breakfast cost us over $30. We tipped the server because she tried. Avoid this place. read more

I could not believe how fantastic this was. Lets begin with the usual... The location is in the middle of downtown Redding, which has come a long way, yet is still not the most savory area, it's still a "downtown area" if you catch my meaning. For some reason a lot of locals are fighting the gentrification of the area, which is desperately needed. Corbett's is an unassuming building nestled amongst commercial areas. When you enter you're transported to a whole other world. When I first walked in I took note that it was incredibly clean and a familiar scent filled my nostrils, moistening my mouth and rumbling my stomach. The atmosphere is reminiscent of old southern ma and pa diners, not the rinky dink tiny ones, the ones who everyone in town knew and they knew everyone. They have local business ads printed into the table tops and everyone should feel welcome. They have their preserves caddy as most similar places do... Yet another hint to excite me... Seedless blackberry. I don't know the story, I don't know why, and I don't know how, but I've found a good place that offers real SOUTHERN FOOD. I knew exactly what I wanted. Chicken fried steak. When it came I knew it with certainty. The service is amazing, the food is delicious (better than I ever dreamt), the value is way beyond what we paid, the restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. 5/5 can't wait to come back! read more

We had strawberry French toast that was good and a chili relleno omelet that was pretty bland. Probably the most surprising thing is they allow dogs inside the restaurant. I came here with a group of 5 on a Sunday morning around 10:30 after a night of drinking. The place wasn't too busy, so we were seated immediately. It took a while for our server to come around for our order and for our food to come out, but not too big of a deal mainly because our server was VERY friendly and accommodating! I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries. The texture of the fries were AMAZING, but could have definitely used more seasoning. The burger was very large and the quality of bun and pickles were exquisite, however, the patty was very dry. My wife ordered the club sandwich which she enjoyed. Overall, it was a good experience. The club sandwich was yummy! And I really liked their French fries. My wife's burger was pretty greasy, but dry at the same time which was weird, but other than that everything was good. We stopped here for breakfast and we really enjoyed our meal. I got a side of a biscuit and gravy and it was one of the best I've tried. The biscuit was soft and flavorful. I also got the strawberry croissant French toast but I kind of wish I would've just gotten the regular French toast and added strawberries since the croissant felt a bit too oily. We were on our way to Shasta and decided to try to find a place to stop and get breakfast. We didn't wanna try the usual places and found this place via Yelp. The building is very unassuming, we almost missed it. The inside is very nice and clean, it does seem like an older place but well maintained. There also seems to be a lot of locals that come in. I'm not a huge breakfast person but I love waffles so I ordered the Belgian waffle with strawberries and cream, mom had the short stack of pancakes and my dad had the chicken fried steak. Our server was so nice and the food came our out super quick. I did not expect such a huge portion and it was delicious but I could barely finish half of the waffle. The rest I got to go. Everyone else managed to finish their food. According to my dad the bathrooms were nice and clean. The only negative was the parking lot. The spots are very small so you might have to be careful when maneuvering around. If it wasn't 3 hours away I would certainly come back! read more

My main critique is that there wasn't enough of their tasty enchilada sauce and all the sauce was on the bottom of the omelette. What this dish needed, frankly, was a drenching of enchilada sauce.
