They made sure we were comfortable and had the space we needed, which truly meant a lot. Marina was fantastic -- patient, attentive, and handled everything with ease. We were looking for a quick bite on our road trip & came across this quaint diner. It was easy to get to, the staff were all very friendly & welcoming. The place was clean & comfortable. They had an extensive breakfast menu but we opted for their sandwiches since it was a hot day - their Garden sandwich & Turkey sandwiches w/potatoe salad. They didn't skimp on the turkey! Wow!!!!! I cannot say enough about this establishment! From the owner, Karline, to the amazing servers, the food, and those amazing pumpkin spice pancakes! Everything here is absolutely phenomenal! The staff will make you feel like you are one of the family! Karline, the owner, went above and beyond for our family to gather on the patio! She made sure that her son put up shade for us! Nicole was our server and she is fantastic! Debbie is also another staff member that will make you feel like she has known you forever! Another hidden gem that we found thanks to the great reviews online. It was our first time at the cafe, we were on a road trip from San Jose to Crater Lake and stopped in Redding for the night as well as to visit Lassen National Park on our way. Now, the cafe, the setting and the people were great! We loved the vibe, the ambiance and the overall feel of the cafe. What we ordered: 1. Avocado Toast 2. Chicken Fried Steak with Biscuit 3. Vanilla Flavoured Latte What we loved: The food was amazing, it was tasty and the protions was sumptuous for both of us. The biscuit was a little unusual for us, we've never tried biscuits like these before. They did seem a little on the dry side, a dash of butter and gravy would help solve that problem. The chicken was cooked properly and the hashbrowns were crisp and delicious. The coffee was surprisingly good, not sure what it was but the overall taste was amazing! Moving on to the Avocado Toast, now this was a different take on the tried and test formula. I believe they use some sort of seasoning similar to the Everyday bagel seasoning and that knocked it out of the park. Service: The service was good, our server was attentive and helped us with the coffee order. We were happy overall. Every couple of years, my husband and I come into Redding to see family; and every year, I double check that their pancakes and waffles still have no eggs in their batter; and I am just always pleased with the response and the service received here. My family and I have gone here twice in the past couple of weeks during our vacation; and each time, we were shown kindness and understand with our 20 month old twins. Last week when we came, the waitress said she loved their names. We came again this morning, and while we had a different waitress (Marina), the other waitress that saw us a week ago remembered our boys' names. Felt like we were family. The two times that we went, my husband had biscuits and gravy with bacon, I had a a short stack with strawberries, my husband's grandmother had a waffle with whipped cream, the first time my kids each had a Mickey Mouse pancake (and we had leftover's) and the 2nd time, I shared my short stack with them. When we travel through this area again, we will definitely stop by again., this is my absolute FAVORITE breakfast restaurant and I wish this company was nationwide.
