Deja Vu is a popular breakfast, brunch and lunch spot. Everyday from 7am until 2 pm, the place is buzzing with chatter and the smell of good food. Park behind the building with the entrance off of East Street. Check in at the front desk for quick seating at indoor tables, booths or on the patio. Super friendly staff. We enjoyed the Classic Breakfast with scrambled eggs, potatoes, a biscuit and chicken applewood sausage. The biscuits are made in-house, flakey and are absolutely massive! Pay at the table. Easy peasy.

This place is outstanding! We had 8 people and everyone enjoyed their meal. We will be back!

We were looking for a quick bite on our road trip & came across this quaint diner. It was easy to get to, the staff were all very friendly & welcoming. The place was clean & comfortable. They had an extensive breakfast menu but we opted for their sandwiches since it was a hot day - their Garden sandwich & Turkey sandwiches w/potatoe salad. They didn't skimp on the turkey! Both sandwiches were very good. The potatoe salad had a slightly bitter taste (dill?). Super clean bathrooms & it was really easy to get back on the freeway afterwards.

I love this place! This is the first time I have been here in the new location and it's adorable! The customer service was top notch! The decor is amazing and I love how inviting it feels! It's so nostalgic for me, I came with a large party and we got our food and drinks super quick. I got the eggs Benedict and they are the best I have ever had! The portions are amazing, I wish we lived closer! Definitely try this place out!!!

This place was 1st to show on yelp and it was right around the corner from the hotel we stayed at ! Food was bombdiggity I had the traditional eggs Beni . Good size portions , crunchy on the outside perfect on the inside country potato's . Bloody Mary was a nice appetizer before breakfast! Service is friendly , genuine stellar service . Price is good . I would highly recommend Deja Vu .

Another hidden gem that we found thanks to the great reviews online. It was our first time at the cafe, we were on a road trip from San Jose to Crater Lake and stopped in Redding for the night as well as to visit Lassen National Park on our way. Now, the cafe, the setting and the people were great! We loved the vibe, the ambiance and the overall feel of the cafe. What we ordered: 1. Avocado Toast 2. Chicken Fried Steak with Biscuit 3. Vanilla Flavoured Latte What we loved: The food was amazing, it was tasty and the protions was sumptuous for both of us. The biscuit was a little unusual for us, we've never tried biscuits like these before. They did seem a little on the dry side, a dash of butter and gravy would help solve that problem. The chicken was cooked properly and the hashbrowns were crisp and delicious. The coffee was surprisingly good, not sure what it was but the overall taste was amazing! Moving on to the Avocado Toast, now this was a different take on the tried and test formula. I believe they use some sort of seasoning similar to the Everyday bagel seasoning and that knocked it out of the park. Service: The service was good, our server was attentive and helped us with the coffee order. We were happy overall. Whenever we pass through Redding next time, we will stop and have lunch here!

Great price for the quantity and quality of food. Nicole was awesome. And the waffle came with a Lou of strawberries. Though there are many vegetarian and egg options, all the food is made on the same grill as the meats. So for vegans, it's best to stick to the cold sandwich or the waffle.

When we ordered, the woman at the register was very sweet and patient. However there was a woman that was a bit shorter with brown hair that was cleaning & while my friend was ordering, the worker cleaning asked behind her what the time was & huffed with a sour face when she was asked to make a smoothie. While we were waiting for our orders, I noticed the woman cleaning had taken a table & chairs from customers talking outside, while we were sitting at the register waiting she came and told us that she was going to sweep right there really quick. We had scoot over but not far so we can grab our order, and she proceeded to sweep my friends feet. When we were figuring out where to sit, she said, "were actually closed right now," we said that we're so sorry & didn't realize it, which she responded, "Yeah," and held the door open until we walked out. I completely understand trying to close & customers keep coming in (as an ex-cafe worker) but a simple, "Hey guys, just wanna let you know that we're closing in 5 minutes," when we walked in and we probably would've just let them close & catch them the next time the cafe was open. I would like to add that the food and drinks were still amazing, every other time I've been here I've had great experiences, and I still plan on returning/recommending.

This particular location (Churn Creek Rd.) is the best out of all 3 stores in the city in regards to interior and general vibes. The prices are a bit high, but in contrast to its contenders, I know what I'm getting and I'm happy when I go. My personal favorite is the Peruvian Steak Sandwich (specifically with subbed-in sourdough bread) and truffle fries. Sizing of things like the fries admittingly have shrank since I first went three years ago sadly. I have yet to have anything bad off the menu that didn't please my tastebuds. (It also has working machines for their lemonade options compared to the College View location. Those drinks are an absolute huge plus!)

When asking if they use tamari or gluten free soy sauce, she said she wasn't sure and pointed to a list of salad dressing options that were marked. Not their rice bowls toppings - heads up- it's regular soy sauce. Also since I was asking all the gluten free questions, it would have been nice to be informed that the tacos were also served on flour tortillas. Not the cashier or the menu indicated this. Luckily I do not have a severe allergy, or I'd be furious. Obviously this place is a bakery, so there's gluten everywhere. I'm not mad, honestly. Just a little disappointed. Any information is best. I got the chimichurri steak tacos, which are covered in chipotle aioli - I'd honestly rename them to be chipotle steak tacos. Get zero chimichurri, the aioli completely takes over. I do like the steak isn't tough though, so still get some points for the attempt. For me, and my gluten sensitivity, probably won't be back since there aren't many options that are actually gluten free.

The servers were super friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and there was a steady stream of regulars while I was here. I was initially excited for my meal but the food wasn't to my taste. The menu states that classic plates and omelettes come with garlic herb potatoes and choice of toast, biscuit, or pancake. My corned beef hash plate ($16.50) was pretty lackluster and underseasoned. The corned beef was mushy and more fine textured than what I'm accustomed to. However, the potatoes in my hash were decently browned and my eggs were cooked over easy as requested. The pancake was fluffy and came with pats of salted butter, but the pancake itself tasted like it was made from a mix. A server kindly brought over some homemade mixed berry, strawberry, and mango jams that made the pancake more interesting to eat. The warmed bottle of syrup on the table was a thoughtful touch. I didn't get a side of garlic herb potatoes with my plate, so I asked a server about it and they said my corned beef hash was already made with potatoes so it wasn't included. Maybe the menu wasn't updated or there was a misunderstanding, but I do see that another user posted their corned beef hash plate which did come with the garlic herb potatoes. My dining companion ordered the "pearl waffle" plate ($13.50) which had 2 Liège style waffles, whipped cream, and fruit. I ate some of the waffle and enjoyed crunching on the pearl sugar. It was nice with a smear of jam. The waffles are pretty small so if you have a hearty appetite, you might want to order an additional side. They ordered some scrambled eggs ($4.50) to round out their meal and said the eggs were fine. I don't think I'll be coming back but I definitely see why it's a local favorite. It's just not the best breakfast place for me and that's okay! Some non-food details: friendly and efficient service, indoor and outdoor seating, and decent amount of onsite parking + street parking available if needed.
