I've been coming to Huckleberry regularly for the past couple of months, and I wanted to leave a review that's both honest and appreciative. The food here is absolutely outstanding. Every dish I've tried has been consistently delicious, well-prepared, and full of flavor. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality you're getting, which makes it even more impressive. It's clear the kitchen takes a lot of pride in what they're putting out. I'll be honest -- the service has been consistently disappointing. The wait staff is often very slow, inattentive, and at times comes across as outright rude. Celeste was one of the servers we had, and unfortunately that experience reflected the same issues. There was also another server on a different visit whose name I can't recall, but the experience was very similar. There have been multiple visits where it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers, and basic things like check-ins or timely service were lacking. It's frustrating because it takes away from what should be an amazing overall experience. To be fair, it does seem like there are some good servers there, but unfortunately we always seem to end up with the ones that provide a poor experience. That said, I'm still giving this place 5 stars because the food truly carries the experience. It keeps me coming back, and I really want to continue supporting this restaurant. If the service improves, this place would easily be next-level. Either way, major respect to the kitchen -- they're doing an amazing job. read more

Gave them another try for lunch. Not great. We started with fried green tomatoes, 5 tiny slices for $8.50. They are ok but it's tomatoes, way over priced. Partner had the Monte Cristo. The "dipped French toast bread" was also dry. Otherwise it was ok. Unfortunately the Huckleberry jam that came with it was tasteless. Well, not tasteless, it tasted like purple sugar. Not huckleberries. I had the spicy chicken sandwich. Awful. The chicken was so overcooked I couldn't take a bite out of it and ended up cutting a piece to try. So tough and dry. When I let the server know she told me they use fresh chicken. Not sure why she told me that. Fresh or frozen it was way overcooked. My guess is that they par cook it then cook again in the fryer when ordered. So we won't be back. There is simply no good lunch spots in Redding. read more

Don't let the name fool you ! We were a party of three and went for the first time. Excited to check out the menu as we love huckleberries. Well, don't be surprised when you look at the menu and you don't see anything Huckleberry on it! We asked for our eggs over medium, not runny. They came very runny. All of our food was cold and their bacon is the cheapest bacon they can find. The food did not have hardly any flavor to it at all! The huckleberry syrup on the waffles had no flavor. Previous Huckleberry's that we visited are great for breakfast. It has a bayou inspired menu. The service was good, not great. Our coffee was only refilled once, but our server was friendly. The scrambles - 4/5 The Mississippi Scramble and the Louisiana scramble were very good. There was sufficient meats in the Mississippi scramble . The Louisiana scramble had pretty decent amount of shrimp. The only concern was the potatoes. The country potatoes were too soft and mushy. It should have some texture and a little more solid. Mardi Gras Beignets - 4/5 The Beignets were good. It was not light and fluffy as Beignets I had before. The condiments of various berries went well with the Beignets. Southern Swirl French Toast 3/5 The caramel desire was too much which made this selection overly sweet. I would drizzle the caramel sauce on it and put a small cup of extra sauce for the customer to add if needed. There was hardly any bananas too. Redding Huckleberry' is good. I would not hesitate to visit this restaurant again in the near future. read more

Unique southern food that isn't usually found in our area. Great staff, very attentive. A great place to dine, with fun decor.

Walked in the place was empty, except for one customer waiting for his order to go Woman with her back towards me since something about she be been in a minute. I stood for more than a minute. I'm handicapped on a walker just stood there. Finally I turned around and walk back out. I will never return. I was visiting my whole town breakfast. read more

Have been wanting to try this place since I lived in SLO. Food was great! I really loved the portions and the prices weren't too bad, I was expecting it to be a lot more. The service was fantastic and we got our food quick. Really enjoy the Mardi Grass decor. There is limited parking. read more

Huckleberry's - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Redding, California

Huckleberry's is definitely a great new addition to Redding. The ambiance of the restaurant is very Southern/Florida themed, with lot's if wood walls and signs warning of alligators. They did a really great job renovating. We came in the first week of operation, so the wait was pretty long. Part of the problem was that they are also doing online orders at the same time, making the kitchen busier, and harder to sit people because the kitchen can't catch up. But the food was great! Also service was exceptional, I think we had Kaya/Kai ? She went above and beyond and was really sweet. Would go again, but maybe at a less busy time of day! read more

This is a relatively new place that replaced IHOP. Parking isn't the greatest but doable. However, the food selection is incredible and the service second to none. I had the New Orleans hot skillet meal with Andouille sausage, Louisiana shrimp, & mushrooms topped with melted Monterey Jack cheese & Creole sauce. My wife had the Garden meal With Tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, spinach, and bell pepper with Monterey Jack cheese and sliced avocado. Served on a hot iron skillet - scrambled with eggs and Country Reds. Superb! read more

Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience eating here. My family and I wanted to try it out since it's a new breakfast place in town, but the staff seemed very stressed and many people were complaining about the wait. We ended up waiting about 1 1/2 hours for our food, which was served cold. The vegetables in my omelet were hard and not sautéed. Our waitress also didn't come back to check on us after we received our food. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I wouldn't return. read more

Love the Bayou decor. But I agree with another post, the beignets are not authentic to those served in New Orleans. We have visited twice and the food was delicious with large portions. Service is their weakness. The staff seem stressed and often fail to bring items we requested. The IHOP certainly needed renovation but the waitress there was super friendly, greeted most customers by name and never did she seem stressed or overwhelmed as she covered so many tables. Both times there appears to be management/supervision on site but walk around and do nothing to assist, greet or check in with customers. Our second visit this month we were unfortunately placed in the back room across from the kitchen. The noise was horrible from the staff and clanking of dishes and cookware. We will give it another try but will refuse to be seated in the back. read more

Wow! The music in here and the atmosphere was so fun! The food was also good, but the service was great! We had Kim serving us for brunch and she absolutely cracked us up! She gave us good recommendations and suggested the "gator juice" and green tomatoes that were so good! Definitely glad to have a cool new spot like this in town, can't wait to come back again. read more

Don't bother. If only they could actually make beignets. What was brought to our table was not a beignet. It obviously was cook and placed under a warmer. Not good at all. Just stopped by Huckleberry's in Redding.......didn't realize it was opening day----Welcome to Redding!! Staff was great, professional and welcoming!! I ordered their special French Toast Swiril......almost licked the plate it was so good! I am a believer and will stop by Huckleberry's whenever I can.....will have to bring Wife and kids next time! We've gone there twice now. The first time the service and the food was good but they ran out of salad mix. The second time, the service was very, very slow. We watched as another table was seated right next to us with another waitress. They had their drinks and food ordered before ours had even come to greet us. We weren't there during a rush or anything, but apparently she was covering much of the restaurant. It took a while to get everything: drinks, food, condiments, utensils. By the time we got our food the table next to us that had been seated after us was already paying for their meal. Not sure if this is a good indication of the quality of service on a daily basis, but we were not impressed. read more

Love huckleberry's we came in on opening day for the new restaurant. We got seated right away the staff and our waitress were very friendly and professional. The menu is wonderful, we had omelette called Riverboat with red potatoes and chili on the omelette it was excellent very yummy with biscuit. So happy it's in Redding . Will be back. read more

I've never written a review for a restaurant, I'm quite picky. But my experience here was so wonderful that I felt I needed to. I went with my son and though there was a little wait it was worth it as the food was excellent. The taste, the presentation and the portions, Oh my. All beyond excellent. The ambiance to the environment was beautiful, clean, and more than welcoming or inviting. It felt like you stepped into another place. The staff and service was more then on par even though they were swamped and busy. I would recommend this place to bring family, friends, or out of the area company as this is an awesome awesome restaurant. Would give no stars if you could. Worst breakfast ever what breakfast place doesn't have eggs and didn't tell us until we got our food. The rest of the food was cold biscuits were microwaved. They did comp the breakfast but will not go back. Even the people sitting next to us said the food was not good and cold. read more

Visited here for the first time....Sunday morning close to 11 AM the Sunday before Christmas. (Probably not the best timing on our part.) Despite the pouring rain, it was crazy busy! The staff were very friendly. We had to wait about 40 minutes to be seated, but they did their best and kept thanking us for our patience. The service was very good. Theresa was our server and she did a great job throughout the meal. There is a large menu with breakfast and lunch items. Hours are 7-3. Southern Cajun-style food and there is something for everyone. There don't appear to be many healthy options. I had to search to find much under 1200 calories. I had the Huck's Combo, 2 eggs, 2 bacon or sausage, and a half waffle (or a pancake or slice of french toast.) It was a perfect size for me. Everyone in our party of 4 were just "okay" with their food. There are some large platters on the menu as well...chicken & waffles, fish and chips, omelets, benedict style dishes. lots of french toast, burgers, sandwiches, cajun style fries, etc. I think this restaurant will do well here in Redding, but you might want to pick a weekday to check it out rather than a weekend near noon. I probably won't eat here again because the calorie (and no doubt, the cholesterol) counts are pretty high. read more

The food was absolutely horrible, the service was mediocre at best. Some of the staff was very dirty and grungy, which is very unacceptable in a restaurant setting. The very first Huckleberry's I went to in Modesto, was very top notch, excellent food, service, and very clean. I was hoping for the same thing here, but was very disappointed. Management from Modesto restaurant should come train this staff to help save it. I hate criticizing but this experience was very bad. read more

Huckleberries is new to our area. I have went several times. The first time I went me and my daughter it was wonderful. We had strawberry mimosas, which was the best I ever had. The second time I went and had a strawberry mimosa it wasn't good and I had the vegetable skillet which was mainly potatoes. Love the atmosphere. Customer service was top-notch. read more

Teresa was amazing!! So was the food! Again Teresa was great!! All of our food was delicious and the fried green tomatoes were great! The only downside is the mimosas have way too much syrup added into them so maybe ask for just a splash of flavor if you get mimosas m, other than that we had a wonderful experience! read more

The beignets were disgusting! While I've never had an authentic NOLA beignet, I can't imagine they're anything like these.

My waitress was Teresa and she was wonderful. The food was great and I will definitely come again
