I've enjoyed Mosaic before, which is why I chose it for brunch with my daughter. I ordered the cheddar biscuit eggs Benedict, and it arrived looking like it was rushed off the line. I can overlook presentation, but only if the flavors deliver. They didn't. The potatoes were dry and completely unseasoned. The cheddar biscuit lacked both flavor and texture. The eggs had undercooked whites, and there was barely any hollandaise which should be the star of the show. I ended up eating a few bites of biscuit and some tomato and leaving the rest. I don't mind paying for ambiance, especially when I'm trying to spend quality time with my daughter. But the food has to justify it. Walking out feeling like I would've been more satisfied eating at home isn't a great experience. I know Mosaic can do better, which is why this was disappointing. read more

We came here on a weekend day in the late afternoon. There was one large party outside and like 3-4 smaller tables outside. The service was very slow. It took about 10-15 minutes for someone to take our order. Then it took another 20-30 minutes for us to get our food. At one point, I realized our plate of salmon was just sitting there. When one of the cooks in the back asked one of the waiters to help with the effort, she ignored him and continued wiping the utensils. That was pretty annoying. Our actual waiter on the other hand was helping with taking stock of things and it just seemed like there was not enough staff. When the pizza was supposed to take another 5 minutes after we had gotten our salmon plate, we told them we had waited almost 40 minutes and no longer wanted the pizza. They definitely can work on the logistics of this place better. Sadly the salmon was delicious but the experience and service left a sour taste. read more

Came in for an early Valentine's Day dinner and Valentine's Day breakfast since it is right next to our hotel. They were able to seat us very quickly. I will say they had the tables set up and were very small and intimate but a little crowded. They had an option for outdoor seating as well if anyone wanted to brave the cold weather. Though they did have heaters outside to help. There is a nice bar area too. We got the Valentines special which was not a bad price for a three course meal. The portions were decent. I wish I could have given this place a better rating but alas, I must be true to my experience and the service we received. We stopped in for lunch and ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the power bowl along with a Diet Pepsi and an iced tea. That came out to almost $53. The chicken patty was rather small, fries were just alright, the power bowl was missing the citrus vinaigrette and was quite dry. We sat at the bar and the bartender was a bit slow moving. He said he would bring us a lemon for my iced tea, never did and the same thing for ketchup for my boyfriend's fries. Also, he dropped off our food with no place settings so I had to grab a fork and napkin off a nearby table. He seemed a bit out of focus but was nice enough to grab us some to go drinks. After a long day exploring Turtle Bay we stopped here to get a small quick bite, we weren't super hungry so we decided to share! I was super surprised when we got 2 pieces of salmon with a tiny little bun under. It was literally almost the size of my fork! I think we paid around $25 for this. Super disappointed. Still holding this at four stars but have some updates. First, they've tightened up the menu which is usually a good thing but they've left few options for me (and maybe) you on the starters side. Suggest adding a basic green salad or wedge to complement the kale salad option. A soup would be nice on those chilly winter evenings. The pizza is still very good but it wasn't the amazing pizza I remembered. The choices seem odd, suggest making a clear build-you-own option for those who don't want creamed leek or provolone instead of mozzarella. Asked the hostess to turn on the heat lamps outside in the back but she said they didn't work... as we were leaving, we saw a party with their dog seated indoors and it would've been nice if she mentioned we could sit inside while seating us. Mosaic continues to "Wow" us! Prior review is on dinner. As for lunch, the Steak Salad and Salmon Bowl are amazing. Steak Salad (5/5 stars): cooked medium rare. I asked they lean more towards rare, so the meat wouldn't be overly cooked. Dish was perfect. We loved the squash, pomegranates & cheese bites with the salad. Salmon Bowl (5/5 stars): a warmer dish. Salmon has that crispy crunch. Delicious. Comes with quinoa & avocado. Brussel Sprouts (5/5 stars): go to appetizer of ours now. Always a treat. Husband really enjoyed the mule drink. I liked the sour pear for a one time experience. It tasted okay for me. Service is great. Make reservations by the fireplace ahead of time. It is lovely. Outdoor is lovely too, when the sun is out. We had a reservation, but had to wait 15 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. It took another 15 minutes to get water, then 15 more to get our drinks and place our food order. I kid you not, it took at least an hour to get two pizzas and a salad. We missed our reservation time for our next event following dinner and had to push it. We ordered more drinks that never arrived. Definitely do not go here if you are in any kind of rush, have plans afterwards, or want to feel as though you're receiving quality service. Other than the service, the food was delightful. The margarita flight was beautiful and so tasty, and served in the cutest little glasses! We were looking forward to a relaxed meal and ordered a pizza and a caesar salad, asking if they could be served together. The pizza, which we typically love from brick oven-style places, took unusually long--long enough that it felt like more of a system or staffing issue than a kitchen delay. Our order was taken by the bartender, who was also managing a busy bar, so we didn't get any table check-ins from him. Eventually, we flagged down another waiter and asked if the salad could come out while we waited for the pizza. About three minutes later, both the pizza and the salad were brought to the table. Unfortunately, the salad was missing its dressing--likely because it had been sitting partially prepped and just never finished. It seemed like a small detail that was overlooked, possibly because the waiter wasn't assigned to our table and didn't notice or take the time to check. When the bartender finally returned, probably after noticing we are not eating anymore, we mentioned the salad issue as constructive feedback. He was very apologetic and kindly removed the salad from the bill, which we appreciated. It was a thoughtful gesture. Overall, it felt like the restaurant may have been short-staffed--we even noticed someone who appeared to be the manager stepping in to help serve tables. The food was also average considering the prices, and the experience suffered from a lack of coordination and attentiveness. We hope things improve, as the place has promise. read more
