Fresh sushi as always! Loved our chef! It's a great place to go with friends or your s/o.

Kobe Seafood & Steakhouse is a very popular teppanyaki style restaurant in Redding. There is also a side where you can order off a menu. We elected to try the teppanyaki side where you see the teppanyaki chef masterfully chops and dices the ordered food, tossing and catching sharp knives in the air and then sets the entire grill aflame as an entertainment while propping and cooking our foods. We ordered fillet, scallops, and shrimp. We also ordered fired rice for an extra cost. You see the skilled teppanyaki chef skillfully dice all the veggies and prepare the main items ordered right in front of all at the teppanyaki table of 10. The various menu selections of foods ordered - 5/5 The veggies, fired rice, and all foods ordered were cooked to perfection. The veggies were seasoned and cooked just right. Not overcooked to mushiness or undercooked where it might be too hard. Very delicious! The fried rice was prepared on the spot with fresh ingredients with eggs, and seasoned to perfection. The fried rice is worth the up charge. The steaks were all prepared and cooked as ordered. Our filet was very tender and succulent. The shrimp and scallops were also cooked perfect;Ly. The shrimp was not tough, dry or hard, but was very tender and tasty. The scallops were also cooked just right. Very tender, and seasoned just right. Our experience at Kobe Seafood & Steakhouse was very enjoyable. The teppanyaki chefs were very skilled at entertaining the guests while preparing and cooking the ordered selected menu items. I highly recommend visiting Kobe Seafood and Steakhouse for a great meal!

We had a late lunch early dinner, at approximately 3 PM. We had been told by different people that you could sit and watch them cook your food. This did didn't happen. The grills were closed. We were seated at a little table by the window. It took a few minutes to decide what we wanted because we were both disappointed about the grill. However, I chose the shrimp tempura bento box and my husband ordered the pad Thai with shrimp. He didn't have any complaints about his food, he said it was OK. There was disappointment that there was no lime to squeeze on it. Mine on the other hand, locked flavor. The shrimp was really nice and crunchy, but it was blah! There were four different vegetables, and they were OK, needed more flavoring. There was a dipping sauce, but it was not a dipping sauce I wanted. There were a couple pieces of California roll and the Wasabi and ginger, which I always love were there. They were they were tasty. I was disappointed because I really wanted more. The service was average. No complaints with that.

The food was tasty and fresh. The show by the cook was wonderful. The place is nice and welcoming. Our family enjoyed it all.

The sushi is middle-of-the-road quality--the fish is the ordinary fish found everywhere, although they usually have uni when it is in season. The tempura is more crumby than the kind of batter I usually expect. It's more like a panko crust. The servers are friendly and welcoming, but few of them seem to know how to pronounce the Japanese names of various fish. The ambience is spoiled as management seems intent to just coast along without much care for the minor details in your dining experience. Most of the dishes and plates are chipped or cracked, often in multiple places. If that's how much they care about the details, it's questionable whether the fish is really trustworthy or fresh.

I understand maybe they are understaff since it's a small family business, but it did affect the whole dining experience. I had the boat noodle, broth is rich with good flavor. My husband had pho, he liked it. The lemon pepper wings were lemony, I wish it would be more peppery. I thought it would be the dry lemon pepper seasoning. The wings were fried very well, really crispy.

I knocked off two stars because the posted prices at the restaurant were a dollar or two higher than those listed in their on-line menu, as well as the dry (I assume they're baked and not deep fried) crinkle-cut French fries. These chips?\fries were unsalted (I can handle that), but they seemed like mashed potatoes that hand been formed by machine into crinkle-cut French fry shapes. They were very dry on the inside, and perfectly tasteless. I've never had chips that were so healthy, and thus, unappealing. Deep fry my chips like every other fish and chips restaurant does. If I wanted health food, I'd bake my fries at home in the oven, while listening to Joan Baez screech out a song about something we all need to feel guilty for.

The entrance was a bit tough to recognize. In addition, the sign requesting patrons to wait to be seated was absent personnel. The youngster arrived while on the phone taking a reservation. Further delay as she coordinated seating for the large group (showing up on Wednesday, she shared). She mentioned they were slow and said I could select whatever table I liked. I ordered a savory martini and filet mignon, mashed potatoes and French onion soup. Soup arrived with the martini and the two could not have been more oppositely received. The soup exquisite, the martini...nearly undrinkable. But to be fair, I wasn't expecting an overwhelming bell pepper flavor. Black pepper Absolute Vodka was the description. I detest bell peppers. I tried to choke down as much as I could, then decided to give up halfway through. The soup was sublime. A 1/4 inch slice of brown toast under the melted Swiss cheese, the broth and onions delicious. I requested a 6 ounce pour of the Caymus California Cabernet Sauvignon with the steak. It arrived with my meat and potatoes beautifully plated. I'm not sure I wasn't served a sirloin. That filet was the shape of no filet I've ever bought or been served. But it was perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes were sublime - buttery and flavorful. The wine with less tannins than I anticipated- I really enjoyed that. Service was attentive and both the hostess and my server checked on me. My drive back to Sacramento will be pleasant.

Portion was huge and he brought half home. For dessert we had the cheesecake and the cream brûlée, both really good. Only downside, if you are dropping almost $200 for dinner, the bathrooms need to be clean and upscale. Mold in the ladies room toilet at the waterline - yuck - and Toilet paper dispenser broken and laying on the floor in the stall. This needs improvement. Overall we were happy with our meal and we will be back.

When the po' boy came out, we thought it was burnt! We didn't know the catfish will be blackened by default. We thought it will be fried since it is a po' boy. The options can be blackened or fried based on the menu online. We were not given those options by our server. They brought out the food but didnt provide utensils until minutes later. Fried green tomatoes: It was good. Fried perfectly. The dressing that was tossed with the side salad was super salty. Catfish po' boy: Fish was tender but super salty as well. Fried chicken sandwich: Pretty good sandwich. Chicken was huge. The fries was so soggy, not crispy at all. Also very greasy. We were a bit disappointed as we drove out of our way to try this place.
