Service 5 stars Jenny Green. Ambiance pretty dang cool. Pretty fishies all around. Food - we had NO food. But it was 5 o'clock somewhere and we had drinks. Jenny offered me Lalo Tequila, which I'd never had. So as I like to try NEW, I said let's go. It had such a clean and soft flavor. No bite on the finish. Literally everyone in this bar acts like it's cheers. They're all nice. They all make you feel like y'all been sitting together for years at the same bar stools. My man has told me that he's much of a local legend and he asked the bartender are you Jenny? Jenny Green? And that was all it took for recounting of stories and misadventures and fun. The bartender Jenni was rude and super unprofessional. As a public servant I hold myself to a high standard and was attacked verbally by another person at the bar, when I deescalated the situation and tried to walk away, Jenny then proceeded to tell me and the entire bar that I (someone who works in fire service) was no good and made a huge deal over me defending myself and my date. I will not be returning to this bar and will be making sure to let everyone know that this is how they treat their first responders. I am in the business of saving lives, not causing harm and when I was attacked, I was treated like a pos for trying to walk away. All while the bartender was drinking at work. read more

Been there only one time but was very impressed!! Will go back in again. Was very impressed at how clean the fish tanks were!! Means the rest of the place is probably just as clean?? Worst bar in redding. Every bartender that works there takes ridiculously long to serve people who come in and if there is more than a few people they're too busy talking or on their phone. I've never gotten served within 10 minutes of sitting down and getting another drink after you have finished the first takes even longer. It genuinely feels like they don't want customers. You can not go wrong coming here. I usually go after dark due to work schedules and it's always a great time. Whether it's going out for a drink with family, girls night or friends coming in from out of town, it's always 10/10 above and beyond! The bartenders are down to earth as well as observant and aware of what's going on at all times. Never have to worry about grabbing a quick drink alone after a long shift. Ever heard of the Lochness Fish of Redding??? It's in this bar in the aquarium on the left if you're sitting at the bar and it only comes out if triggered by cool ass ppl having a loud fun time which was us and of course if it's provoked. I'll post a pic bc the bartender literally swung the aquarium (which is hung by chains) to get this beast to present itself. We visited my brothers favorite bar in Redding which is connected to the mall... genius location... family can shop and others can drink, eat and catch the game. Very friendly and experienced bartenders too. I asked for a difficult drink (or so I thought) and was given a pretty damn good version. I heard it called alien brain and the bartender said she's heard it called other things which I won't repeat here but you can ask them. All in all, I can totally see why it's my brothers favorite bar. The chicken tenders were decent but the poppers were awesome!!! We will be back. :-) read more

I occasionally come to this mall. I enjoy having a glass of wine after shopping, until today. I'll NEVER go back. While going through the door I accidentally scraped my toe and it began bleeding. I assuaged the problem with the Kleenex I had with me. I asked the bartender Jenny, upon arriving, how her birth of her baby went. She said it went great and the baby is 2 now. Time flies. I asked her if she had a bandaid since my toe was still bleeding from the nasty door. I asked her two more times. When she finally brought the tiny bandaid she said, "This isn't my priority, I serve drinks not bandaids." She then said you have a bandaid on your arm, to which I replied, "Yes, I'm a potter and that happened in studio." Seriously, seriously? She even tried to shame me with other customers. So very wrong. Never again. My ten year relationship with y'all is DONE. And the noise, profanity, is over the top in there. read more

This is my second time here, it is definitely like another user commented a dark no frills bar but I don't get the impression it is trying to be anything but that and I'm totally fine with it. The bartender, crystal is super friendly and attentive you don't get the pretentious girl bartender vibe that you sometimes do with cute female bartenders. She's super friendly and professional. Lots of different seating ranging from up front and center at the bar with at least 6 different flat screens, a lounge area off to the side and also a bench/bar lounge up against the back wall. The bathrooms are clean. You can't beat the location right outside the mall. I would never hesitate to stop for a drink as a reprieve from the redding heat or shopping. read more

I was in the mall and I thought I would like to get a drink. As I walked in the bartender gave me the eye as if he was GOD, he was talking to a customer at the time & Acted like he did not want me there. I looked around the place slowly and I decided I was unwelcome & not to buy a drink from this Rude bartender . I guess my skin was too dark for this place . Just keeping this real friend. Good bar, best thing about this bar is that it's not the hen house, also the rusty nail is where the locals go

This has the distinction of being the bar in Redding that actually resembles a bar and isn't necessarily scary (read: it's a full bar that isn't a part of a hotel or chain restaurant and it isn't frequented exclusively by creepy older people who have clearly given up on any and all ambitions they had in life). The big plus is the bar is located in the middle of the actually economically active part of town, so you can have a nice happy hour after running an errand of one sort or another. My recommended selections are the well drinks, which run for $4.50, and pitchers of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. read more

Anyone seen Billy and his mullet or Cheech? I use to frequent the Nail back in the day when I was home from college and had much more disposable income and no responsibility. Anyways, great full bar, free popcorn, not a lot of room to work it when the place is packed. Opens early so that's a plus for all you early birds. God I use to love coming here while on Thanksgiving and Xmas break, it was like a high school reunion, so rad... everyone bullshitting everyone about how great they're doing, how successful they are and how they're cooler than you. I can't name the name of the guy that was working the bar that night, but I will say this. I will never go back to this place. Once this dude gets his ass out of his own head it might be manageable due to the other staff that runs this place. My friend and I stopped in last Sunday for a quick drink. I have always enjoyed this bar until this last weekend. The bartender seemed more into all of the guys around the bar then us. Once we were finished and I went to pay, she was extremely loud and rude and said your card is "declined" when clearly on the receipt is said " chip malfunction" whether it would have been declined or not is fine but to scream it across the bar so that everyone in there can hear is just extremely rude and and unprofessional. This place is way nicer than you'd think it would be for a bar attached to the mall. But it's always my go-to spot when I visit Redding. The staff is nice, and the drinks are stiff. And so cheap! The normal customers here tend to be boring middle class people but, hey, they are usually chill and not rowdy. If you aren't also boring and middle class they may snoot at you, but at least they aren't falling over or being super loud. I'll take it! A great place to unwind in the evening and/or start out the night. The bartenders are nice... the more you show up, the nicer they get, understandably. The bar is a little narrow, so don't expect to be able to move around a whole lot after 8pm. The super long booth with several tables makes it easy to grab a seat. I was at the mall and I guess I did not make a good first impression because being dressed too nice and not white enough.
