French Dip-good flavor, not too salty.
Sydney P.

Solid Food, I had a french dip and my dining companion had an egg dish with sausage gravy which she raved about. Just a handful of tables and a counter that seats 4. We will definitely be back. Breakfast all day, they close at 3pm. Food is cooked to order so not really fast but it was worth the extra five minutes.

Breakfast as good as it gets! Located in an unassuming building in a strip mall, Tye Dye Cafe does breakfast right. With an extensive menu of breakfast items, there is something for everyone here. The breakfast burrito ($9.95) was enormous and chocked full of eggs, bacon, sausage, onion and cheese. With the addition of some Tapitio, it was out of this world. The Southern style breakfast ($12.95) was also huge, boasting two eggs atop a biscuit smothered with sausage gravy and accompanied by sausages and a giant side of potatoes. The owners are working the floor and the stove and obviously enjoy what they do. If you are anywhere within 50 miles of Redding and are in need of a good, hearty breakfast, make your way to Tye Dye Cafe.

Biscuits & gravy with sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and hash browns.

A wonderful homage to classic American tastes and times. The biscuits and gravy were a fantastic platter and very true to a southern style. Just marvelous. But what makes this place the best is the people who work and come here. There is an atmosphere of fun and joy. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.

Really good food and the prices are reasonable. Can't go wrong with the breakfast sandwich. It's my favorite.

Good food. Great people. I had breakfast with my brothers. The staff loved it when I walked in the door. I was Tye Dye from head to toe.

I think the Philly cheese steak was absolutely amazing!!! But the place was small and the food took 45 minutes to get.

Whenever I'm visiting Redding, I always like to try new places, especially searching for solid Mexican food (which isn't an easy task in such a small town). People who know me, know that I love beans - refried especially. My grandmother and father made amazing refried beans. Living in Los Angeles, there's a diverse number of places that really deliver the flavor. I digress. So, I stop at Hermanos today and ordered a bean and cheese burrito and a chorizo soft taco. The guys working there were friendly and after explaining to them that I'm visiting from Southern California and my affinity for beans (I'm a nerd, what can I say lol), they gave me a taste of their shredded beef birria. It was amazing. Melted in my mouth. So, A+ there. To the headliners... Bean and cheese burrito. The tortilla was homemade tasting/feeling (didn't appear to be store bought like some of the other places I've tried here). On a scale of 1-10, I give the beans a 7. They were better than average and better than good. Chorizo soft taco. Pretty simple taco. Soft flour tortilla, lettuce, pico de gallo, shredded cheese, and chorizo. The chorizo was cooked perfectly (That isn't a passing comment either. Chorizo can be easily under or overcooked). Great flavor. Tasted fresh. They gave me green and red salsa. Both were really tasty and enjoyable. I think I have found my new favorite Mexican spot in Redding. The true test will be their chili relleno and pozole. I will definitely be back.

The waiter helping us was super nice even though he looked like he wasnt having a good day. He made sure we had anything we needed or asked for, he was a older gentleman. He was working his section like a champ. It was alil loud to hear but that was only cause it was so busy, very festive, atmosphere was nice, other people were satisfied with the service and food. Now from the time we walked in to being seated to ordering the food came out to us very quick, very hot and delicious. The waiter made sure to warn us of the temperature of the plates. I think the whole time we were in the restaurant was maybe an hour we had stuffed ourselves with chips & salsa and Queso so I had plenty of left-overs. Would I recommend yes would I come back of course id like to try some of the other food.

We got the chips and salsa. The chips were a little on the stale side, hard and chewy. The salsa had flavor, not much heat. The drinks were big and came out quick. The food portions are pretty big and good prices. The food was good, nothing really great. The chimichanga could have used some sauce on top instead of the sour cream which said it didn't come with. The carne asada was a big piece but a little tough. It all lacked some flavoring and the rice was dry.

I came here for dinner and also to get a breakfast burrito for an early morning the next day. The tacos were great, good size and full of meat, perhaps a smidge pricey at ~$5 after tax and tip each, but still delicious. The lengua (tongue) was tender and meaty, cooked the way it should be. The tripas though were the stand out - crispy, smoky, rich... I might get just these next time. If you haven't tried this before, don't be squeamish - they don't taste like offal, they don't have a weird texture, they are just delicious. The tortillas were also great, thin and chewy and just strong enough to hold onto the ingredients while you ate. It should also be noted that they have free and unlimited chips and salsa. And the salsas are quite tasty, the salsa verde being my favorite. The super breakfast burrito was eaten cold at around 5 am the next morning, so obviously it wouldn't be fair to judge it like I had it fresh. But it was well constructed, very well sized, and had plenty of egg and bacon in it. It was good even if not eaten at the optimal time and temperature. The restaurant is located next to a sushi bar (which I am too scared to try given Redding's inland location) and has a big parking lot. They take credit cards and bring the food to your table. Whether you're a local or just visiting this place is definitely worth a visit.
