Great place, downtown Redding, for breakfast and lunch. Nice ambience, great new ownership and staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast offers all the classics and they also have great other breakfast selections that you won't normally find. Seafood Benedict, house omelette with a cream cheese sauce, just to name a couple. Lunches are excellent as well! So many choices that I've been going for years attempting to try them all but keep getting drawn back to my favorites because they are soooo GOOD!! Small place, maybe 20 tables. Took 15 minutes before someone took our order. Then another 40 for our food to be brought out, and when it got to us it was cold. A table next to us asked for their food to be boxed to go they had been there for an hour. A couple minutes later their food was ready, go figure, only 2 boxes. A gentleman who had come in after us was making a to go order left with about 6+ boxes about 30 minutes later. Make that make sense. Do not recommend, and will not be back. read more

First impressions are everything and sorry to say our 1st impression was not good. The "brown water" - coffee - placed on our table in a small mug was never topped off or asked to be topped off as we waited for our meal. We did ask if their was a dark roast when our breakfast arrived because the coffee did taste like "brown water" .. we were informed the coffee was a medium roast. Our waitress took the coffee off our bill since my husband had only the first cup .. thank you. There was no one checking on needs of any of the customers though there was plenty of staff seating customers. The house omelette was okay ... nothing to go back for and the toast was warm but not toasted. The restaurant seemed to have regulars but we won't be. I ended up paying $20 for 2 eggs, potatoes, biscuit, and a small glass of orange juice. The eggs looked like it was just one egg, extremely small portions. Maybe they are used to slanging hash to blue haired old people? Not sure what the heck that was. Come across this place during our roadtrip from Seattle down to San Francisco. Food: The food was really good and flavorful! So I ordered hash browns with an omelette and probably was one of the best hash browns I've had in a while. It was perfectly crispy and everything was cooked thoroughly. Family got french toast and said it was just the right portion, not too much or too little. Another got bacon and eggs, in which the bacon looked a bit underwhelming, nonetheless, everything on the plate looked great and tasted good. Service : Waitress was very attentive and was patient with us ordering as it was our first time there. She even warned me that the fruit was cantaloupe before proceeding with the order. Just happened across this gem of a breakfast/lunch spot after a doctor appointment and sooo glad we stopped in. Both our breakfasts were excellent! Can't say enough about delicious food and great service. The owner even stopped by to check on things. We ordered Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs Benedict and both were mouth-watering delicious! I always ask for crispy on my potatoes and finally someone knows how to cook them perfectly The steak was tender and flavorful as was the country gravy. They had super friendly service. They were busy on Sunday morning but not too busy that we had to wait. Ordered a ribeye steak sandwich. The Dutch crunch bread they served it on was perfect! It was crunchy outside and soft on the inside. It did not hurt my mouth biting it (which can happen with Dutch crunch). Texture without pain. The sandwich had lots of cheese and a garlic aioli that was great. Also got sandwiches with ham and an egg. They were accommodating with the request to trade in ham instead of bacon! Service was good. The food was just awful. There was a hair in my hash browns, the waitress saw me discover it. I had not even taken a bite yet. The main issue was my eggs were not over medium. The whites were not throughly cooked. She took the plate back and I was brought a new food. Well, the hash browns were the same ones because I like pepper and they didn't come that way. The eggs yolks were now half cooked and the white was crispy. NOW for the bad part... The oil that was used tasted quite off. An old rancid and slightly chemical taste. It was so bad that I could only eat a few bites. I mentioned it to the waitress and had her take the food away... Yes I was still charged for it.... It was the first time in my 67 years that I could not eat food that was served to me in a restaurant. My husband ordered the breakfast bowl special. This place is pretty good . Easy to find and has parking outside. Coming to this place is thought for a sec it looks fancy but actually have a very open, relaxing atmosphere and had nice simple decor. The servers were all nice and friendly. Love love how they come by your table every few mins to refills our coffee. Ordered the Egg Benedict with Hashbrown and it was really yummy. This restaurant claims to follow Covid safety measures but the only two employees wearing masks were the Two servers in the front. There is not even a suggestion to customers to wear one which explains why at least half the patrons were maskless. This was pretty bad experience from the beginning. When we first got there the waitress walked up to us and asked for how many. She didn't say anything else and then walked away. We assumed that we had to wait for a table, and we finally sat down, then waited for menus and then to order drinks coffee, juice and water. We got our coffee and juice but when I asked waitress for water she ignored me and had to ask another waitress for our water, and then had to ask for silverware. What a waste of time and gas. We drove up from Andersen hoping for a tasty breakfast. Corbett's sounded interesting offering items different than your typical breakfast fare. We started with a latte since they had signage for espresso drinks. Little did we know a "machine" made them as opposed to a traditional espresso machine. Needless to say, they were terrible. We continued to be disappointed with each item. I tried their lobster benedict hoping for improvement. No such luck. Canned hollendae sauce should be clearly advertised on a menu! Corbett's is such a sweet, upscale diner with friendly staff and excellent customer service. Anytime I'm headed up for some hiking/camping, I ensure that I stop here for a meal. What's even better is the vegan breakfast option on the menu- tofu scramble! There was only one waitress for the restaurant. Then after another half hour people that came in a half hour behind us were getting severed. Messed up since the the new owners took over. ***Corbett's is now under new ownership*** I have been eating at Corbett's Restaurant for the past 3 years since I have worked in downtown Redding. I have enjoyed the wonderful service and kind ownership of Corbett's restaurant for as long as I have gone there. Today, however, I ordered a prime rib sandwich on my 30 minute lunch break, and when I drove back to work to eat my food I found out I was given a ham sandwich. I do not eat ham! I called the restaurant and was held up on the phone for over 10 minutes as the waitress and the owner talked back and forth in the background. They even questioned me on what the meat looked like because they were positive it was prime rib. Ultimately, 2 hours later I walked back over to Corbett's with my entire sandwich in hand to prove to them that I was given the wrong food. They offered to remake the sandwich once they knew that I was serious, but I requested a refund instead. My refund was for $18, which is how much they charge for a sandwich and side of fries BTW. Meanwhile, after requesting a refund, I look over to my left and notice the new owners teenage daughter trying to nonchalantly take a picture of me on her cell phone!!! I didn't say anything to her because I didn't want to cause confrontation, but I do feel extremely violated and offended by her actions. I will tell you it was the worst experience and absolutely horrible customer service, and I will not be going back to Corbett's EVER. I will make sure my coworkers at SRMC know of this situation and don't go back either. read more

It has been amazing to watch and I am honored to have been a part of it, working in the trenches alongside these people. The stories of terror and loss were met with a listening ear and a hot meal. Tri-tip and au jus had decent flavor, unfortunately the tri-tip was very dry. I'm not sure if I'll be returning.

By far my favorite Breakfast in Redding. The owners are super cool which is a major plus. I've been there three times in the past month because I'm addicted to the lobster Benedict lol it's so freakn good with a lot of lobster meat. Only $12 too, so can't beat that. The mimosas are delicious as well. They have this lobster roll that looks amazing but have yet to try it. I remember my great aunts taking me to Corbetts when I was real young so early 90's, it has sentimental memories it's a must try! read more

Horrible rubber pancake a teaspoon of syrup in a plastic cup cold potatoes cold bacon was funny they said they were slammed when we arrived but sent all the servers home except one BEFORE LUNCH ON SUNDAY? LOL wow four ladies serving coffee and water and owner who just stood and watched over the diners eating like a warden while one little server tried to deliver all the food . Well first time here is definitely our last. My opinion McDonald's has more of a clue than this place. read more

Was visiting Redding with my boyfriend and spent a lot of time on yelp going back and forth on where to have breakfast. Decided on Corbett's and we were so happy we did. The food was AMAZING. Some of the best breakfast I've had. I got the eggs Benedict with hash browns with the biscuit and gravy. The hash browns are homemade and thick, so delicious. The biscuits were so fluffy and soft. My boyfriend got the chicken fried steak and it was thick and juicy. We definitely recommend eating here and we will definitely come again when we are in the area. read more

Corbett's seems to have new owners so they've had some changes. We went in for dinner on a Thursday night and there were two waitresses and 5 tables including us; quiet. Our waitress was fast and efficient. The menu has a lot of the same things the other owners had with some new stuff like a huge wine list and very reasonable prices. My favorite bottle of red wine is actually $3 cheaper at Corbett's than our neighborhood grocery store. We ordered fried chicken special $15 and buffalo chicken salad $15. Both were large portions and tasted fresh. We split a piece of pie - apple with cheddar cheese melted on top. Also excellent. I would liken Corbett's to a locally owned Denny's with healthier food - less sugar, syrup and salt. Double check their hours - unlike a Denny's, they are only open for dinner Thursday through Saturday. I see they have $6 breakfast and $8 lunch specials. We will be back to try one of their locally famous specialty sandwiches. read more

The food was hit or miss..the. The Smell of burnt toast floated through the air, my wife's potatoes cooked beyond recognition, but her turkey omelette was great. My ham and cheese omelette perfect, my hash Browns were paltry and devoid of moisture. But my biggest gripe? they were installing a sign and so we endured hammers pounding and drills whirring relentlessly. Head splitting. Echoing and amplified. Really huge portions just didn't make up for the fact I could not enjoy the food at all. The highlight was my mimosa - they served me almost a pint sized glass and it tasted great. My son ordered pancakes and they were off - a little too fluffy and doughy made me think they didn't really measure their ingredients. He didn't even finish 1 pancake. My husband and daughter were fine with their meals proving that some people really don't really care about flavor and if that's the case maybe you'll like the place for the ambiance and large portions. Lazy cusomer service... It took 10 minutes to get a hello or acknowledgement from staff when we came in the door. The table that they "cleaned" for us wasn't clean. I had to request place servicings. My husband accidentally poured too much ketchup on his plate so the waitress insisted on offering us a dirty dish (seriously dirty + used) from the table next to us so he could put some of his extra ketchup on that. We had to insist 3-4 times NO before she would leave us alone. Gross. Makes me wonder what they consider sanitary in the kitchen. read more
