I can't eat here as much as I'd like to because my doctor said I have high blood pressure, so I'm steering away from the fatty, salty and high calorie foods. But, they do have some good healthy alternatives.. like the steel cut oatmeal and the garden omelette.. but I'm eating less breakfast these days.. This place had a change on ownership and it now owned by the owners of Joe's giant orange. Food is not at all what it used to be- the owners before put way more love into the food. Omelettes are not as fluffy and the potatoes are bland. Won't be going here again and really sad about the switch.... This place used to have the best owners with the best customers who would take turns paying for peoples food at random.. it was always a nice atmosphere and will be missed. read more

Seem like the staff was kind of arguing amongst them self you don't really want to hear that in the morning when you're trying to have breakfast. 1 missing ingredient made this bomb burger a dud. First time getting food from Trendy's. They are within walking distance, but being under the weather during a pandemic I figured I'd just DoorDash. Simple order, the bomb burger with fries. Nothing altered, but a note to please include some ketchup for fries as I don't have any condiments for this. It took 45-50 minutes which was unfortunate, but the "double the expected" time made me hungrier. When I got my food it was very hot and fresh. So that was awesome, fries were crispy and burger looked like the bomb...except it was a dud. It had a fluffy brioche bun, melted cheese, juicy patty, crisp fresh lettuce, thick bacon, good cut of tomato, and a crunchy fried onion...but no chipotle aioli. Super crowded so we sat at the bar and watched all of the fantastic items coming out of the window - seriously I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order. I had simple eggs and bacon - came with a fantastic fresh fruit salad, so delicious. Toast with home made berry jelly was out of this world. I would have been just fine with the fruit and toast! Husband had corned beef and hash with eggs - also delicious. His came with a biscuit and gravy - he said it was the best biscuit he has had in a long time and that is saying a lot! The egg on the breakfast sandwich was perfectly cooked so it wasn't too hard but didn't run down your hand and I loved the aioli sauce it was dressed with. This off-the-beaten-path little gem came highly recommended by other Yelpers and so, since we were spending the night in Redding before continuing our trip to San Francisco, we decided to give it a try. This is not a place one would find by just driving around town as it is on a side street a couple of blocks off the main drag and appears to be frequented by mostly locals who go there on a regular basis. Trendy's did not disappoint. The place is small and cozy with some tables and a counter staffed by one very friendly woman who has obviously been there a long time and knows what the locals want. So does the cook, who had one regular's breakfast going before she even made it through the door. We had breakfast and it was great. Everything was prepared to perfection, using fresh local ingredients. Trendy's had a very "California" feel to it for me, from the decor to the upbeat, friendly locals who frequent the place, to the freshly prepared, tasty choices on the menu. I would highly recommend this place to other Yelpers who might be in Redding and are looking for a great place for breakfast. read more

My family goes to Trendy's at least once a week and we have never been disappointed. This family-owned business does 2 things perfectly: customer service and delicious food. My favorite for breakfast is the chicken fried steak and my daughter's is the breakfast burrito with bacon. The restaurant is always packed and no one minds a few minute wait for a table. I came in at 7am. They open at 6am which is good for those who plan to go to Mt. shasta, etc. There were 2 other customers; one was leaving so basically me and this other table. My food came in like 10-15 mins. Kathy was great and attentive. I got the corned beef hash with pancakes and a slice of panko french toast. Those pancakes...oh my they are as big as your face! I asked for their special jam - the 4 berries. Everything was delicious except for the french toast. It tastes a little bit salty, which I'm not really fond of especially with the sweet french toast taste as well, but an interesting experience nonetheless. The total was $15 plus tax is $16.13. This is the most amazing food I've found in California! It's got such a spectrum of flavors, yet it would fall into American cuisine. The Monte crisco is like nothing I've tried before. It's like French toast cake bread, but just a hint of sweet, with ham and turkey and cheese, and a sprinkle of sugar. It stayed together well to eat easily as a sandwich, while still feeling like an entire breakfast platter. I had it delivered, and then reheated the other half (giant portions!) and it STILL tastes phenomenal! I had to have more from this place, so I tried the "gringo sandwich" and was just as pleased. So much meat on the sandwich, and the slaw, omg. Even the French fries here are nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. I also got the chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy. Was perfectly cooked, and the biscuit is HUGE. The gravy is wonderful, creamy and peppery but not over powering. Again, the portions are so large, I have breakfast and lunch whenever I order. Whoever is cooking and coming up with these recipes is a genius. And extremely affordable! 2 giant meals for around $25-$30 is really hard to beat. Quality food for sure. We visited during the lunch hour on a Tuesday with our two girls. The Wife ordered the TBLT with chips and salsa, I ordered the Carnitas Gringo Sandwich with Garlic Parmesan Fries and the kiddos were stoked on some breakfast (eggs, bacon and potatoes with toast). All of the food was fresh and good quality. The kids menu portions were huge! Leftover breakfast potatoes? I'm in. Food was delish. We got in a good time and we were able to a seat quickly. They started doing reservations on Sunday's about 6 weeks ago but have a few walk in spots. Eggs cooked the way we like.
