This is by far the most awful awful food I've ever tried. How the heckkkkklll do y'all have 4.5?????? Breakfast potatoes are the size of a brick ! My 98 year old grandma can make them better !!! I kept hearing about how awesome this place was so I decided to check it out. Unfortunately I was not as impressed. The family who runs the place were very rude although it's clear if you are a regular you are treated far better and get great service. The breakfast burrito I got was terrible but I decided after a couple months to give it a second chance. I wanted an omelet that was on the menu without almost all of the ingredients except the meat and cheese and the younger gal informed me she would have to see if that was possible and sent one of the owners over to tell me they don't like to make any changes to their menu! I decided on something else and again thought the food was less than average and I will not be returning. I'm giving Trendy's Five Stars for the ambience, food, and service. The whole package. We thought with a name like, Trendy's, this was going to be a modern restaurant with crazy new dishes. The name actually comes from a play on both of the owners names. This is a family owned and operated old school diner, doing it right with fresh, local ingredients. To start off, great coffee that's served in large cups. I never had to asked for more, the staff was always there topping it off. I ordered the homemade chicken fried steak with a biscuit and the jalapeño jam. While ordering, our waitress educated me on what kind of steak they use and the local butcher where they buy it. Very cool. I'm a chicken fried steak snob, and this one was outstanding. Lightly breaded and topped with a well seasoned sausage gravy. The jalapeño jam is a must. It was so good. My friend ordered the two egg breakfast (Two eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes and a pancake). He said it was an excellent breakfast, with perfectly cooked pancake. And last but not least, we were waited on by three generations of family members during our meal. Great service, great breakfast. Stop looking folks, Trendy's is so amazing that even I have to share my thoughts! I came to enjoy Lake Shasta for the first time, but engine trouble cancelled the trip at the boat dock.. So, I came to town and the only thing better than Trendy's food is the staff! Fork tender Country Fried Steak, well seasoned potatoes, scratch made biscuit with a mixed berry jam that was so good...I wished my Mom was enjoying too! I stumbled on this place while taking the wife to an appt. I was amazed at the food. Everything was quite perfect. When I told my wife what I had eaten during her appt and how amazing it was she had me order her the same. Perfect burger, perfect fries, perfect o-rings. Another young man who was there heard me complimenting the staff, said to try the tacos, they're the best and that he drove a half hour to get them. I'm not often in Redding, but this has become my must visit for future trips. It's so good you might expect to find it in old Town Napa or some other fancy area, not on the mean streets of Redding. Trendy's.... an adorable better than a "hole in the wall" joint. The atmosphere inside made me feel so at home. They offer daily specials and genuine smiles. The food was UNREAL. Looking for a place to get breakfast and lunch we stopped by Trendy's. We were sit immediately and with a friendly welcome we chose a table. The menu had lots of options and we settled on bacon and eggs breakfast with pancakes, corned beef hash with toast, a basket of garlic fries, panko breaded French toast, and 2 large glasses of orange juice. It was so much food! The orange juice was fresh squeezed and sweet. Every dish ordered was incredibly yummy. The garlic fries were crispy and lightly salted with evenly spreaded garlic. The bacon was thick and crispy. The corned beef hash was well mixed with the potatoes and crispy!!!! I've usually had it mushy and this was not that and was not overly greasy. One of the best I've had. The panko breaded French toast, again was slightly crispy and a sweetness that melted in my mouth and I ate my half quickly. Yum! The toast I ordered was sourdough. Well buttered and came with homemade peach jam. The pancake that came with bacon and eggs was huge and as big as the entire plate. A meal we barely ate half of and happily took leftovers with us. Great atmosphere, delicious meal, and a nice stop. We ate so fast that I believe in 20 minutes! While we were traveling through, I'm sure we will come back again. read more

Came for lunch with my mom. Lunch was meh. The ingredients are quality and fresh, the service was excellent but the wait was LONG. Because of this I debated three or four stars. But, I wasn't impressed with the food so had to go with a three. I ordered a brisket burger. It was very very sweet. Too sweet. It was so sweet you couldn't taste the meat, the onions, the cheese- nothing but sugar. It totally ruined the burger and could easily classify as a dessert burger. Boo. I also order fries done crisp. The fries came out totally limp but the waitress noticed and took them back and when she returned they were perfectly crispy. My moms salad was good. Nothing earth shattering but solid. After finding this little gem my husband and I have gotten breakfast here 3 mornings in a row and honestly will keep getting breakfast here until we leave! The breakfast trendwich is AMAZING, the egg is cooked perfectly. And by perfectly I mean all three times have been better than any other breakfast sandwich I've had. The fruit bowl was also amazing. I feel very fortunate that the only place within walking distance of my office is also the best place. Right now they have a monte Christo sandwich that is served with jellies they make right there. They do make really good pancakes (they call them griddle cakes). The chicken fried steak wasn't good, they would get run out of Texas trying to serve that. It was actually burnt on the bottom. Bland gravy, the whole thing needs help. Service was lousy though. I know they were busy, but I had to ask 4 times for a glass of water. They also brought out my pancake after I'd already ate the rest of my food, I thought they forgot that too. read more

We've been to Trendy's at least 4 times now, and every meal I've had has been fantastic. The panko French toast is really unique. Crispy deliciousness with a touch of cinnamon. Hubs can't get enough of the corned beef. Served flat and crispy, it's not oily or heavy at all. If you like corned beef at all, you won't be disappointed. My favorite sandwich is consistently the Trendwich with the sausage, egg and Gouda. So much yum! It's a little heavy sometimes though... This time I wanted to try the spinach, egg and bacon instead and it was perfect. All the eggy goodness I wanted without the heaviness of the sausage. All this yummy food is served with the kindness and generosity of Wendy's staff. Every interaction I've had with them has been so good to both me and my kids. It was so good we went 2 days in a row! The first day I had the Panko French Toast and fresh fruit and my wife had the Monte Cristo. Both were AMAZING!!! I "borrowed" some of the fresh strawberry jam (made in house) from my wife's plate and slathered it on my French toast....eyes rolled back in head good!!!! The fruit was real fruit..fresh sweet and delish with awesome variety! The second day, I did the waffle with fresh strawberries and in house made fresh whipped cream.(I own the sweet tooth) and my wife had "The Bomb Burger" with fries. The burger itself had great flavor and it is topped with cheddar and crispy onions! THE BOMB INDEED!! The service at Trendy's is top notch and the interior is warm and inviting and comfortable. My favorite breakfast restaurant in the area and just across the street from the hospital where I was interning. It's always a treat coming here, with consistently good food and portions. Every time I go, I'm greeted with a smile and well taken care of. My go-to items are the Locomotive Omelet, Monte Cristo, and Trendwich. However, everything on their menu tends to be fairly safe. The one bad thing is there can sometimes be a long wait to be seated and with such a small kitchen staff, the food can take awhile, but I don't mind waiting a bit for good food. Weekends use to be their busiest time of the week but it's now only a weekday joint, which makes me sad. Nevertheless, excellent food and service, and truly a gem of Redding. read more

GOOD LORD! And he is good! I have fallen in love. I substituted the chorizo for corn beef (best decision in 9 1/2 months) then had to ask for seconds of their mouth watering salsa.
