I am a bit behind in writing this, but wanted to regardless! My partner and I had our daughter's birthday party at Woody's in April. We chose Woody's because our little one wanted mac 'n cheese and they have some of the best in town! I cannot rave enough about the restaurant and how well they handled the party. The booking process was easy and completed via e-mail. This aspect was handy as I didn't have to leave the house or make a phone call on a busy day. The gentleman I spoke to answered all of my questions during the booking process. On the day of the party, we showed up a few minutes early to put up some decorations. A waitress and waiter came and greeted us right away. The owner even came by, promptly, and introduced himself to me. The kindess and professionalism was outstanding. Our waitress (I wish I remembered her name! I feel terribly that I can't provide it.) did an outstanding job! We were a big group of people and she took all of our orders, answered questions, and helped us with anything we needed. I hope it can be determined who worked that day so she can be given her kudos as she was lovely! Lastly, the kitchen staff did a great job getting our food out in a timely manner. I was impressed by their speed and the food was delicious. As the restaurant was busy, we didn't have a chance to say thank you one final time before we left. So, thank you again, Woody's! I finally tried their banh mi today. It had a few "pickled" cukes and huge daikon strips. Unfortunately, it also had fajita style veggies on it, which is not normal, nor tasty. Or maybe they were the peppers/onions that go on the cheesesteak? We did a DoorDash for a work group and with all fees it was a $30 sandwich (menu price $23) but I trashed after 3 bites. I tried, because I do not like to waste, but I couldn't stomach that combo. The side salad was actually great so I ate that, but essentially, $30 for a side salad is no bueno. read more

The third star is for the waitress. Waitress was fantastic. Had the fish & chips (switched out for tots and beer cheese). Great beer cheese, and the tots were good. Great tartar sauce. The breading on the fish was thick. Too thick. Did I mention the tartar sauce. Will have to go with a burger next time, no more fish. read more

I was visiting from Las Vegas my family that lives here and we decided to eat here before they Friday night high school football game. I didn't take any pictures of my actual meal because my sister and I shared but I did take a picture of the special appetizer. I had poutine it was probably one of the best poutine that I've had in a really long time the fries were amazing and the gravy was amazing. Visited this local spot after a day of hiking and it was a typical brewery with classic bites. I decided on the fish and chips, but unfortunately they were a let down. It was all breading with little fish. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but definitely more fish. Anyways, the nachos were a save. Fish and chips: Fries no seasoning, soggy. Fish, no flavor, other side soggy. It was ok but the sogginess threw me off. Dipping sauce, good had a mustard taste. Onion Rings: worst thing ever. soft no crunch at all. just seemed lazy. why would anyone think and big ass cut like that was ok and to not fry it long enough for it to be crunchy. had a weird smell too. We stopped here hungry after a long day of driving and a visit to Berney Falls. I often end up in breweries for the food and rarely get a drink because I'm not a beer lover but this place has several hard cider options - one local (?) and a few from Schilling. I got a taster of the Schilling pineapple and it was delicious! I ordered the tater tots with the chili topping. It was fine - I think I would have liked it better if I had not just had the best tater tots of my life a week before, and these ones were just a little too "doughy". I think it would have been acceptable as a side, but a whole plate with some dry beans on top was a bit too much. A soupier chili topping could have helped as well. My friends raved about the Cali sandwich though, in both the original chicken version and the veggie patty version. Stopped here when passing through. Very casual atmosphere. Service was top notch, very friendly and attentive. We ordered the fish and chips and subbed the chips for tater tots, and the Mac attack and added the ghost pepper cheese. Both came out hot. The tater tots were not your normal tots, more like a fritter or hashbrown ball. The fish was decent. The Mac attack was good, the ghost pepper cheese add on gave it an incredible kick, probably wouldn't go that route again. Driving back to the Bay Area after visiting Ashland, OR we pulled off in Redding for late lunch. Easy parking right out front. Our friendly server, Nicole, seated us immediately. She provided excellent descriptions of menu items, returned quickly with 2 ice cold Mug root beer to quench our thirst and took our order of one Woody's BLT to share on a hoagie roll plus tater tots Both were outstanding! The beer flights are great here...and even more fun (IMO) if you sit at the bar. They have a pretty tasty selection. I ended up really liking the cider options here, which was a recommendation from someone at the bar. We tried the wings, which were not bad, but I definitely liked the fried tomatoes. It was just something different to have at a bar, and the sauces they have on the side are great and homemade. We tried the Wookie for dessert, but heads up, the barley flavor is pretty strong in the cookie (and it is served cold). Neither of us were fans since the flavors didn't seem to meld. But that didn't shadow our experience of how awesome of an environment it was, how great the bartenders were, and the delicious beer options. first off, Gage was an amazing human thus making a beyond great server. The beer flight was so worth it and the amount of options we could choose was so many it was perfect to split with another. I especially liked the brown ale. Food was so good. The tater tots were wayy better than any normal one-super fluffy almost like mashed potatoes inside and perfectly crispy. The cajun sauce that comes with could go on anything. The smokehouse burger was huge and the onion rings were perfect-never pulled the onion out once in a bite. The thai lettuce cups were really refreshing, but filling. I wasn't expecting pulled pork but it was a unique and a splendid surprise. We started with the loaded tater tots. They were super yummy! I always try tots if they have it on the menu. They were crispy, cheesy, and topped with guac and sauce. The mac and cheese was creamy with a bit of sharpness from the cheese. Super satisfying. We also ordered the Thai-flavored wings, which were packed with flavor and served hot and crispy. This was my first time visiting Redding and our Airbnb host recommended woodys. I'm not a huge fan of American food in general but my friends and i decided to go. We got the chicken club, jalapeño burger, blue cheese burger and their famous tots to share. The star of the show was definitely the special hand made tots that are individually smashed. It's crispy on the inside and super fluffy on the inside almost like mashed potato with the perfect hint of garlic flavor to them. My favorite and best tots I have eaten to date, I orders the blue cheese burger because I really like the blue cheese dip from Wingstop. The blue cheese burger contained bacon, a blue cheese ranch, and the regular toppings in a burger such as tomato, lettuce, and red onion. I took my first bite and it was amazing! The crispy bacon with the salty blue cheese and sauce was a flavor bomb of salt in my mouth. However it soon got super heavy to be able to continue eating. There might have been too much blue cheese on the burger and I think it just didn't pair well with the already extremely salty bacon. I had to ask for a side of jalapeños to continue to eat the burger. On the other hand I tried my friend jalapeño burger and it was a lot better with the spiciness of the jalapeño really helping with the heaviness of the burger. I would recommend the blue cheese burger if you really love blue cheese because they definitely pile it on. Aside from the ingredients inside the burger. The meat quality was great and the burger was cooler perfectly. I personally think jalapeño would go really well with the blue cheese burger or at least some pickle to cut out the extreme saltiness after every bite. In conclusion, the next time I come to Redding I would definitely order the tater tots and come just for that. Truly the best thing on the menu. read more

Nicole is probably the most talented server I've had in recent memory, she held down the entire dining area herself; and making sure every table was seen, acknowledged, and received the same excellent service that my family had the pleasure of enjoying.
