I'm a frequent flyer here and the food never fails to disappoint! I've tried something off each of their menus and it's all been fantastic! All the workers are so sweet and helpful. 10/10 food and 10/10 service! All the men and women in the grill are pleasant to be around and all work very fast and well! The grill provides a peaceful atmosphere with live music some days!! Some of my favorite dishes are the steak, salmon, hot honey fried chicken sandwich, sliders, burgers, salads, fish tacos, and their breakfast burritos! Amazing dessert as well. read more

I stayed at Gaia Hotel for two nights when it was very foggy in the area so I appreciated having a good restaurant on-site. Service was good and waitstaff was informed and helpful. They were quite busy one night but kept track of everyone and their orders. The Woodside Old Fashioned was one of the better old-fashioneds I've had. Ceasar salad was also very good, freshly prepared with lots of Parmesan shavings. I ordered the New York steak rare and it was cooked exactly as I asked, but the steak itself was full of gristle and large fat pockets, so not a great steak. For the price, it should have been much better and that's the only reason for four stars. The second night I had the soup, a Greek chicken soup with orzo pasta. Delicious. Also had the macaroni and cheese which had a nice crunchy top and generous serving. I had breakfast there two mornings - oatmeal with really good fresh berries the first morning, and the California omelet the second day. They were both very good and I would order either one again. The hoteel gave me coupons for 25% off breakfast so it was a bargain. I would recommend Woodside Grill whether you're staying at Gaia or live in the area. read more

We had dinner there for my Mom's birthday. We had not been there for awhile. IT WAS FANTASTIC! The service was great (ask for Annalyn). The soup of the day was brilliant, the salmon dinner was really good, and how can you go wrong with chicken tenders and fries? Waiter was great! But the cook had his family there and instead of working he was over with his kids and eating with his fingers which is very unprofessional! We waited for a hour without our food then his kids running around and crying. I'm not one to leave reviews like this but I feel this needs to be addressed being it used to be my favorite "nice" place to eat at. After this I will not be returning unless they fix these issues. I went to Woodside Grill for dinner with my future mother-in-law and fiancé on Friday night and it was an amazing experience and so delicious! We started with the Thai Chicken Nachos which were the perfect mix of tangy sweetness and savory flavor. My fiancé couldn't get enough of them! He ate the majority while my mother-in-law tried to fight for what he left us, but every bite was fantastic! I opted for their house cocktail the Black Bottom Lemondrop which I admit I've had before, but am never disappointed it is so yummy every single time. For dinner my mother-in-law got the fried calamari which she generously shared with us and they were amazing. I had the Tempura Fish Tacos and let me tell you sometimes I worry I won't be full when I order the fish tacos from other restaurants, but not Woodside Grill. Every portion size is perfection and packed with flavor. My fiancé had their Woodside Burger with sweet potato fries and I am not exaggerating when I say they were the best sweet potato fries we've both ever had...and let me tell you, we LOVE sweet potato fries. We of course had to save some room for dessert and got the Brownie A La Mode which was the literal cherry on top to an outstanding dinner. The service was outstanding, Mike was our server and he was very kind and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. My fiancé and I can't say enough good things about this place. We have already booked our table for Valentine's Day. If you have family in town or want to go somewhere for a special occasion this is the spot to take them. I ate here three times during my stay at Gaia and the food here is outstanding. Their breakfast potatoes are to die for. The kitchen's attention to details in the dishes are amazing. You can tell the chefs back there are extremely qualified and they somehow make each dish standout in their own unique ways. Madeline was my server and she was terrific! They have indoor/outdoor dining and a 10 seater bar with tap beers. Overall ambience is chill and well maintained. If you're passing through, local or staying at Gaia, you have got to give this place a shot even for just a cool one on the patio. read more

My son took me Saturday night for an early Mother's Day. From the bread, honey butter and dipping oil to the hot honey chicken sandwich and fish in chip, everything was perfect. We also ordered the calamari and dipping sauces really wowed us. The new staff and chef know what they're doing. My son and I both agreed some of the best food we've had in Shasta county. Hostess and server were perfect and the outdoor patio was lovely. We will definitely be back soon! read more

On February 12, 2026, my grandson (adult) and I had lunch at the grill. Whenever I am in the Anderson area, I also look forward to having lunch or dinner at the grill. I hadn't been in a while, and I was surprised by all of the changes the new owners have done to the space. A new outside patio area with a fire pit and the inside has been opened up with lots of natural light. For our meal, I had the Blackened Chicken Salad (suggested by the very friendly waiter) and he had the Thai Chicken Nachos. The meals came out quick and my chicken was still steaming (nice to get hot food). Both were excellent and we would order both meals again. I need to make a point to get to Anderson more often. I Always enjoy the friendly service and the excellent meals. Great job new owners! I hope more people get to experience the grill. read more

Steaks were pre-cooked in a souvee Water bath. Meat was stringy then it was blackened on a flat top grill. cook should be forced to watch Food TV then be fired. Breakfast was an omelet with a plste full of burned potstoes. Again fire this cook too. read more

Delish! Had dinner and breakfast while staying at the Gaia with family for a weekend at the races. Both meals were great! Fish Tacos were outstanding. And the fries I stole off my husband's plate were perfectly fried, with a yummy seasoning. Three of us ordered the Breakfast Burrito the next morning, and all agreed it was one of the best we'd ever had. Very impressed with the food, and equally with the service. What an amazing top-to-bottom upgrade, after they have recently gotten a new Executive Chef! Our family had eaten at the Woodside Grill several times over the past 3 years, but despite enjoying the light and airy ambience, this was never equaled by the food quality--which ranged from really good, to more often "meh," and sometimes "Wow, I can't believe they served that to us..." But, the real "black hole" was their service: long waits to be seated (even when we had reservations), inattentive servers with bad attitudes, serving cold food, etc. So, we eventually decided to never go back again. However, we heard they had a new Executive Chef, "And the food is great, and service is good." So, we decided to give them one more chance, during a weeknight in the first week of April, 2025--and are we glad we did! We were seated promptly, service was quick, cheerful, professional, and attentive--and with 5 adults in our party, we had a great opportunity to sample a good portion of their entire menu--appetizers, salads, main courses, and desserts. Sharing samples around among our party proved that every bit of food tasted as good as it looked--and it looked great--all food items being very artfully presented. The complete transformation of this restaurant (from top to bottom) had to be experienced first hand--I never would have believed just a verbal testimony, no matter how reliable the source was. The food was delicious, the service superb. But...they allowed a woman to come into the almost empty resataraunt with her "support animal", sat them right beside us. Having a family member with a true Service Dog I know how they act and behave. This dog was anxious and would not settle. So the lady sat the dog up in the chair beside her. I believe in service dogs being able to go anywhere but emotional support dogs, especially those who are not actually trained have no business in food establishments. This establishment blew it by allowing the dog in and on its furniture. Wonder what the Health Dept would think about it? They lost my confidence in keeping their place clean. It was a bummer. Food was amazing last night. The hotel and restaurant have new owners the staff said. Restaurant has a new executive chef and you can see changes are being made. This Shasta County staple is amazing again! So excited to have a delicious option for food. The property is super scenic too. We love to walk to around the pond and back to the river after our meals. There is no tofu option for breakfast so I was only able to get oatmeal which was good but not what I wanted. Came in, seated right away. One host/server, who looked as if she wanted to be anywhere but at work. She ambled around, never brought my husband his coffee ordered. Took our order after about 15 minutes of waiting, we only ordered the simple breakfast and the oatmeal. Food took about 45 minutes to get to our table? And there were only 3 other tables who had people seated, only 2 of which had placed food orders as well. This timing is unacceptable. We will stay at the hotel again, but we will not be eating here again. read more
