I looked up desserts in Redding and Woody's came up. We ordered some beer, the tots, and the seasonal dessert "Peach Buckle" Loved to see everything we ordered was completely homemade! So impressed and the prices were reasonable. I like the rotating dessert and will go back to see next seasons special! The food looked really good too so I will have to try the entrees next time! The food AND the beer are outstanding. I don't know where to begin, food or beer, even the service! Valerie took such wonderful care of us! So, the beer selection is a good range from light to dark, high alcohol to low. The hefe was refreshing and clean, the way I like it! So I got the taco salad. 10 stars, why? Layers of wonderful lettuce blessed with dressing, shredded cheese, chips, gauc and the marvelous habanero salsa. Perfection for me. Didn't yearn for Tabasco or extra salad dressing. I opted for the shredded beef and it was a buku amount of shredded luscious tasty no fat shredded meat. The crispy darkened pieces were like the outside of a prime rib, yummy. What a packed place on a summer Wednesday night! There was not a single table available inside. Good for them! Service was super friendly and set the tone for a nice casual meal. Tables were pretty close and it was sort of loud in the restaurant but that just added to the energy of the place. Picking and choosing my carbs (lol), I had the Philly cheesesteak without a bun and tater tots. They were not typical but I sure did enjoy them! Crispy seasoned outside, pillowy inside. Mm. Hubsters chose fish and chips, son ordered chicken fettuccine Alfredo... both of them finished everything and enjoyed every aspect of their meal. We had seen a Facebook post about the special meals Woody's was offering for Octoberfest, and it looked delicious so we went for dinner. A sign told us to seat ourselves so we did. After sitting there for a good 15 minutes we finally were given menus and water, and the waiter quickly disappeared. We could have given him our order but he didn't bother asking, and we would have ordered our own drinks at the bar, but there was no bartender to be seen. I'm generally a pretty patient person, but I don't know anyone that would go to a brewpub to sit with a glass of water and no food. After sitting another 10-15 minutes with our water, we realized we could go elsewhere and actually be waited on, so we left and went to another restaurant. Probably won't go back again. read more

Good service and they have their own packaged cans of beer. Appetizer Thai wrap is bigger than the normal Chinese lettuce wraps. Asian salad is ok, love the tangerine mixing in. Fish and chips is ok. It's a good local place. read more

We were in town for a mini vacation and decided to get late night takeout. I am obsessed with pretzel buns and its quite hard to come across a burger joint that offers this (let alone as a menu staple) so I was super excited to try out their burgers!! We got the regular burger as well as the spicy chicken burger with tater tots. I was so dissapointed that the chicken burger didnt come with a pretzel bun (even though on top of the menu it said all burgers come with it!!). Aside from this, the rest of our meal was amazing - loved the giant tater tots. It didnt have a greasy, unhealthy taste like normal tater tots do - I'd say the consistency is more bread like and starchy (in the most yummy way possible). We heard the food and drinks were delicious so for date night we decided to stop at Woody's! We arrived around 7pm and there was no line and were seated almost immediately (major plus). The indoors was pretty small and tables were tight together but it worked. As soon as we sat, they brought us waters and placed our drinks and appetizers order. For appetizers we got the fried pickle and the woody tots - both were BOMBBBBB!! For beer, we started with the October fest and the artichoke wheat ale, and let me tell you, both these beers were so so good! I HIGHLY recommend the wheat ale. For dinner, we all order different platters. I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich and I would say it's okay. The Buffalo sauce does have a really good kick but I would've preferred one slice of fried chicken rather than 2 because it immediately was break apart. Also, these buns were not my fav tbh, within a minute of getting it the bottom was already soggy and falling apart. My boyfriend got the Shrimp Po'Boy with a side of Mac and cheese and he said he really liked his meal. He kept raving about the max and cheese! Our friends order the Cajun Chicken Alfredo and the Woody's Mac Attack and we were not impressed. The Alfredo had no Cajun spice and was overall very bland. Found this place on Yelp. Omg, we ate dinner here twice in the 3 days we were visiting. This place was only 3 blocks from where we were staying. Both times there was a table for us right away. Cool vibe, clean bathroom, service rocks and amazing food. First night we had Heather as our server and 2nd time it was Lauren. Both were friendly and rocked as our server. Seriously we eat out a lot and they have been some of the best recently. Also the 1st night Val helped with some beer to go and a cool hat for my husband. Woody's food portions are huge. Each time the 4 of us split 2 meals since we were staying at a hotel and didn't want left overs. My daughter both times got their pasta mac and cheese. It came in a big bowl and 2 slices of garlic bread. She split it with my 87 year old mother who was quiet for at least 10 minutes eating away. My daughter loved it and that is why she got it both times. My hubby and I first split their nacho with chicken on it. It was enough food to feed both of us and fill us up. The nacho was so yummy. The 2nd time there we got the fish and chips and I wil say that it was just like we love it! We have been so and have been way disappointed regardless if the server says theirs is awesome. No it wasn't but Woody's is the right way to make fish and chips. We ended with their ice cream sandwich for dessert. It also was huge. All 4 of us split it. There was enough for all of us plus we were so full we left a bit behind, dang. Their beer selection was awesome. We had some great IPA's on draft. We will definitely come back if in town again. I found this place online. We found parking right in front. The place is spacious inside it's one room but very open. We ordered a giant pretzel to share it was good. The burgers are pretty big and filling. The tots were really good. I had the Tex mex salad it was okay but very filling. Everyone there was very welcoming and nice. The price I think was ok 4 meals with an appetizer for $77. I would definitely return. read more

I would say the tots are a must to get with a beer if you'd like because they hand make the tots and have beers you won't find just anywhere! The service was fantastic. Unfortunately, nothing else was. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. The beer cheese sauce was too salty making the sandwich inedible. Without the sauce, it was bland. The "Thai Pork Lettuce Wraps" were just repurposed pulled pork with a mildly spicy sauce. It wasn't Thai inspired, and the pork was not seasoned to be consistent with Thai flavors. The pork was also not good. It looked like a cat coughed a hairball onto the lettuce and had the same texture. The ambiance is sort of low end gastro pub. I'd give this place a pass. The restaurant's atmosphere was pretty nice even though it was very crowded. They also have done a good job with the decor and layout. I had their Asian Chicken Salad and it's probably one of the worst salads I've had in a long time. The chef had no idea how to cut lettuce or what part of the lettuce should be used. The chicken looked heavily seasoned but it was super bland and lacked flavor. There were only 5 baby tangerines and a splash of shaved almonds. It was $16 for mainly old lettuce. The waitress could see that I didn't enjoy the salad but instead of asking about it, she tossed us the check. It would have gone a long way for her to actually check in and even offer another item at least. Sadly, but a great experience. As for GF options, they do have GF marked on their menu but the fryer is shared so avoid anything fried like the tots and nachos, if you have a seriously GF allergy. read more

Best. Nachos. In. Town. My GAWD. Make sure you get the ghost pepper cheese sauce on it!!! Not very spicy, but oh so flavorful. Prepare yourself to share because ain't NO WAY you're finishing that all by yourself. In fact, (6'1" woman over here) if you're a tall single man that thinks he CAN, ask me on a date and we can have a competition. Your treat! For real though the staff is always willing to please, working with you to get the best meal in front of you. Great about making any changes necessary for your sensitivities, eating plans, what have you (but for the love of God do not order the nachos and make changes because they're perfect in every way). Beers on tap are always excellent (though I will admit I love a good sour and their selections of those are lacking), the food options are GREAT (including an incredible Cajun pasta and some of the best fried pickles in town!!), and the vibe is a classic loud brewery experience. Amazing find in Redding!!! This place deserves every star! Our group had the Philly, the smokehouse burger, the taco's (on Tuesday) and the Asian salad. We also grabbed some wings for an appetizer and walked out with a $107 bill. The food was THE BEST WE'VE HAD this side of San Fran! (Haven't found something this good yet in Sacramento.) The burgers are UNBELIEVABLY good, and so is the beer Mac and cheese! The Philly was a family favorite, as we made my son share. You definitely want to check this place out! Great beer too! Just an overall really good experience! Tourists...just in town for one night...always on the prowl for breweries (especially with food). We were greeted right away, and when we explained it was our first time there the server was super nice! As I'm sure she is all the time, but it really helped being new to this particular place. The IPA was as good as any. The wings were awesome! The home-make tater-tots were pretty darn good too. Wife had a salad with gigantic prawns on it that she said was really good too! We drive down to L.A. from Seattle a couple times a year, first time spending the night in Redding, but. thanks to Woody's it won't be the last. read more
