Poutine
Jonnie D.

I was visiting from Las Vegas my family that lives here and we decided to eat here before they Friday night high school football game. I didn't take any pictures of my actual meal because my sister and I shared but I did take a picture of the special appetizer. I had poutine it was probably one of the best poutine that I've had in a really long time the fries were amazing and the gravy was amazing. My sister and I shared the jalapeño burger and although I don't have a picture of it it was also really really good. I definitely would eat here again when visiting family.

Warm pretzel with beer cheese and mustard

Woody's Brewing is a friendly place offering around 20 independent beers on tap and casual food. We loved the warm pretzel with beer cheese (a must have) and had both the spicy chicken sliders and the Angus burger sliders along with two Teacher's Aide beers. The ambience is nice for a casual lunch or evening meal.

Visited this local spot after a day of hiking and it was a typical brewery with classic bites. I decided on the fish and chips, but unfortunately they were a let down. It was all breading with little fish. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but definitely more fish. Anyways, the nachos were a save. It was loaded with the standard pico, beans, guac, cheese, and meats. The tortilla chips were hot and crispy. I'd say this is a place to go if there are no other options. Pass, 4/10.

A small establishment with a good selection. Some choices limited to beer mug members although they did let us try a taster. The cherry chocolate stout was very good. We didn't try them but the tater tots are house made and looked excellent, as did the wedge salad.

Great brew pub in downtown Redding. Easy parking outside and you can seat yourself then they come take your order. Nice selection of beer options especially liked all the lighter beers for a hot day. Between the smokehouse burger and the buffalo chicken sandwich I preferred the buffalo sandwich. Pretzel was also great. Definitely would come back here

This place was amazing!! Good beers and ciders and even better food!!! Our waitress was so sweet and let us know what was good & what was popular. Whenever I'm in Redding again this is going to be a stop. The portions were so big too. Will be back

Tater tots with chili topping

We stopped here hungry after a long day of driving and a visit to Berney Falls. I often end up in breweries for the food and rarely get a drink because I'm not a beer lover but this place has several hard cider options - one local (?) and a few from Schilling. I got a taster of the Schilling pineapple and it was delicious! I ordered the tater tots with the chili topping. It was fine - I think I would have liked it better if I had not just had the best tater tots of my life a week before, and these ones were just a little too "doughy". I think it would have been acceptable as a side, but a whole plate with some dry beans on top was a bit too much. A soupier chili topping could have helped as well. My friends raved about the Cali sandwich though, in both the original chicken version and the veggie patty version. Logistics: - indoor and outdoor seating - limited street parking in front - Tater Tots are gluten free (not the beer cheese topping), and it looks like there was a gluten free bread option on sandwiches and burgers - veggie patty substitution for all burgers and sandwiches available

Onion rings

Fish and chips: Fries no seasoning, soggy. Fish, no flavor, other side soggy. It was ok but the sogginess threw me off. Dipping sauce, good had a mustard taste. Onion Rings: worst thing ever. soft no crunch at all. just seemed lazy. why would anyone think and big ass cut like that was ok and to not fry it long enough for it to be crunchy. had a weird smell too. Waitress was nice and attentive enough.

Stopped here when passing through. Very casual atmosphere. Service was top notch, very friendly and attentive. We ordered the fish and chips and subbed the chips for tater tots, and the Mac attack and added the ghost pepper cheese. Both came out hot. The tater tots were not your normal tots, more like a fritter or hashbrown ball. The fish was decent. The Mac attack was good, the ghost pepper cheese add on gave it an incredible kick, probably wouldn't go that route again. Over all I would probably come back if I lived here though I did find it a bit high priced.

The beer flights are great here...and even more fun (IMO) if you sit at the bar. They have a pretty tasty selection. I ended up really liking the cider options here, which was a recommendation from someone at the bar. We tried the wings, which were not bad, but I definitely liked the fried tomatoes. It was just something different to have at a bar, and the sauces they have on the side are great and homemade. We tried the Wookie for dessert, but heads up, the barley flavor is pretty strong in the cookie (and it is served cold). Neither of us were fans since the flavors didn't seem to meld. But that didn't shadow our experience of how awesome of an environment it was, how great the bartenders were, and the delicious beer options. Next time I go, I definitely want to try their beer cheese. This is always a stop for me anytime heading up past Redding.

Woody' BLT and tater tots

Driving back to the Bay Area after visiting Ashland, OR we pulled off in Redding for late lunch. Easy parking right out front. Our friendly server, Nicole, seated us immediately. She provided excellent descriptions of menu items, returned quickly with 2 ice cold Mug root beer to quench our thirst and took our order of one Woody's BLT to share on a hoagie roll plus tater tots Both were outstanding! The dining/ bar area and restrooms were clean. Lots of draft beer options. Highly recommend with special praise for Nicole who went out of her way to make us feel welcome!

Soo good. Really delicious flavorful pub food. Definitely recommend the Tater tots with the aioli and ranch. They have really good ranch.

The beer batter on the fish and chips was dense, and not good, and one piece was way over cooked. The iced tea was great.

Ask the Community - Woody's Brewing

Do they have patio heaters?

We don't have patio heaters yet. The weather has been nice so far, but we are looking into getting some heating options for the patio.

Is Woody's dog friendly?

Not inside the restaurant, however, they have a fairly spacious outdoor seating area with umbrellas which is dog friendly.

Are the tots gluten free?

Yes they are, but they are not fried in a dedicated gluten free fryer.

I see reviews saying you are vegan friendly, so what are the options for vegans here? thanks

There are a few vegan dishes that are good, but my favorite is their house made vegan black bean burger on a ciabatta. It's so good!

We each ordered a beer (they brew their own) and they were outstanding! We each ordered the Reuben sandwich with the German potato salad. Sandwiches were huge and overfilled. Only issue was the corned beef was that it was not cut across the grain which made it very chewy. I told the waitress that it would have been a great sandwich if the corned beef had been cut correctly. She said she would share that with the cook. Loved the atmosphere, food and beer. Highly recommend!

We settled on the brewery thinking it would have a variety of foods to choose from. It is a very modest place with some outdoor and indoor seating. We were greeted by our server who brought us menus and water pretty quickly. The menu was not super extensive. We settled on burgers. My daughter ordered the Wagyu burger and I ordered the special (Smokey burger). Our choices of sides were Mesquite BBQ Kettle Chips and German potatoes (chopped up potatoes mixed in Dijon mustard). We thought it was odd that they didn't ask us how we wanted our burgers cooked. It took longer than we expected to get our food considering it wasn't super busy. When the food did come out, we noticed that the burgers were big and looked pretty tasty!! The German potatoes were pretty flavorless and a little more al dente than my daughter liked. She didn't end up eating them at all. The chips were literally just BBQ chips. The burgers were actually really good. The bun was the highlight - crispy and buttery. The meat seemed to be just a cooked standard frozen patty. My daughter ordered avocado and after she had eaten almost half the burger she realized there wasn't any. No one checked on us the whole time. The final bill was $45 and we didn't even order any drinks.
