Wow! Upon entering the restaurant is very clean and we were greeted with a welcome to Mr. Perri Perri's and a smile. This was a first time of many. (I make sourdough with starter at home as well as cook so I'm a picky foodie) This Brisket sandwich was the best I've had. The meat was cooked to perfection. The sourdough delicious and all the toppings were layered perfectly. The homemade coleslaw was sooo good! If you're a soda drinker they have glass bottled coca-Cola as well as fountain drinks. The meet your maker sauce (signed waiver needed) my husband loved. He said the chicken was tender, moist and the best chicken he'd had. The sauce was spicy and slaw was amazing and he doesn't like coleslaw. Our 15 month old ate part of my brisket sandwich, that's how tender and mouthwatering good the meat was. I heard a lot of good things about Peri Peri so I had to give it a try. I must say I was presently surprised. This may be one of the better chicken spots in Redding. The chicken is super moist and very flavorful. I got the Mango Lime and the Mango sauce on the 2 Boneless Chicken Thigh meal. Both sauces were great. Mango Lime was definitely my favorite. We stumbled upon Mister Peri Peri during a recent road trip through Redding, and the name alone piqued our interest. We were so glad we decided to stop! The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food itself was the real star. The chicken is super tender and juicy. We ordered the 4 boneless thighs with the Mango Lime sauce, and a whole chicken platter with two sides. They gave us two different sauces to try with the whole chicken, and both were equally excellent--flavorful and tasty without being overly spicy. The hot sauce has a little heat so you can control how much peri-peri you are after. Side of mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious as well. Service was top notch. Food came out fast and fresh. They pack the chicken do carry out in heat retaining bags so it was still hot when I got home which wasn't for 20-30 minutes. Ambiance was great while I waited for my order- super friendly staff. Love having a chicken shop in town that is serving grilled chicken with all that good flavor. You can put together a pretty healthy plate here that tastes great. Tender, juicy, marinated and grilled chicken with the spice that leaves your lips buzzing with the memory of every delicious bite. My son and I both had 1/2 chicken with creamy mash. I added come slaw. Our order was taken y a friendly server who was more than patient and willing to answer any questions we had. It was quickly served with hot juice succulent chicken. I had the very hot sauce that was more than just heat, but had an excellent flavor. Our mashed potatoes were creamy, hot and delicious, served with an excellent gravy. The coleslaw was fresh with delicious mayo dressing. My wife had the Portuguese salad which was a giant bowl of fresh crisp greens, topped with a mound of diced peri peri chicken cheese and their fantastic dressing. Our breasts were way overcooked. We bought two platters, each of which comes with a side dish. We got to Sun Oaks and discovered that they didn't pack either of our side dishes. The ugly: The ambiance is so absolutely modal strip mall that we assumed it's a franchise. Apparently it's not, but it looks like that's the future the owners have in mind. In sum: It wasn't busy, and one of the workers said it was because the locals are wary of trying new things. The food was absolutely delicious. I got 1/4th Chicken (1 breast, 1 leg, mild sauce) with a side of Peri Peri Salted Chips. The chicken was amazing, I got this huge chicken breast with a wing left on. It was extremely tender and juicy, the skin left on the chicken breast was delicious and really elevated it. The chicken wasn't smothered in sauce and was good on its own, but I was given an extra side of sauce which I applied once I got into more of the white meat. The wing was great, extremely juicy, and just straight up delicious. The Peri Peri Chips are steak fries with their signature seasonings, they were really amazing. Highly recommend getting them with whatever entree you get. Also, it felt like a pretty healthy meal, you just got a bunch of chicken and I did opt for fries but they have interesting sides that would be healthier. I paid around 12 for quite a bit of food. The pricing is very competitive and the portions are large. The service was great, everyone was friendly and the person working the register helped guide me as to which sauce to pick for my chicken. When I walked in the workers all in unison said "Welcome to Peri Peri's!" Even though it's not a chain restaurant, it had an extremely polished look and feel inside and outside. My 4 year old had the plain wings, she ate all 5 of them. And we got the potato wedges to share. We usually get our wings from Buffalo Wild Wings, so if you're expecting that kind of sauce it's not the same. It's definitely more Caribbean/African. Which I really enjoyed!
