Logan's has been a staple since moving here to Redding. My boyfriend and I call it one of rotation staples for a night out dinner. (Huge steak people). We have yet to have a bad experience here. The staff is always so friendly and attentive. We typically order the jalepeno poppers which is spicy and creamy all together. There's always that one popper though that is way spicer then the rest and it is a fun surprise when one of us gets it. The steaks all together are cooked the way you like it. We always order medium rare and each time it is cooked just like so. The sides are your normal sides- will say it is your average- Ceasar is one of the go-tos and it's great everytime. Same with the baked potato. Our favorite though, has to be the rolls! With the delicious butter. They are definitely bigger than some of the competitors. And we always ask for some extra for our take home cause we can never finish our meal because we get so stuffed. The establishment is normally busy when we go in. We stayed at the hotel next door so we decided to come check this place out plus we wanted to watch the NFL game. They had a bar in the middle with lots of TVs around the area so that was nice. Service took a little bit longer than expected but they did look a little short staff and we were not in a rush so we didn't mind. Everyone was moving and you could tell they were working hard. Ricky Bobby is easily the benchmark of what every server should hope to be. Balance + The prices have not changed very much and for the amount of food you get it's very well balanced. Cleanliness + The restaurant was in good clean order, from a spic and span bar, to clean floors, and a nice clean restroom. Deliciousness + I've been here a few times, the food never lets you down, and it has a lot to do with the server. I've only ever had one experience that wasn't the best and it was because the server really didn't care to be there. This was years ago of course, since then I've been here many times and plan to be many more. The food is cooked perfectly, is fresh and delicious, abundant and the menu is always getting a couple new things added to it especially for holidays. Ordered delivery thru DoorDash. Looking for a good salad and came across Logan. Had the Cobb salad with tri tip, was pretty good. Meat was cooked well, juicy and tender. My big regret was getting the angry pickles...it was supposedly deep fried in a batter but sure didn't look like it. Paid $14 for literally just pickles and jalapeños, Big disappointment. We paid extra for loaded potatoes. we've had them before as well as dry rub ribs. Redding isn't famous for great food in our opinion. Yesterday was it. No more. what an insult to our hard earned money. The loaded potato was a combination of cut up old potato mixed with seemingly boxed mashed potatoes stuffed in a paper cup. OK. Misleading. Don't pay for using up their garbage. Clearly, the kitchen thought this clever, but it went in the garbage can. The ribs were burned ( can you say carcinogens?) and we really felt ripped off. BEST MOZZARELLA STICKS! Look at that cheese pull!!! We have been here a few times and normally enjoy ourselves. It's your standard busy, family-friendly restaurant environment with great hosts and servers. The tables and interior are clean and decently taken care of. Our steaks are always so tender and well cooked. I tried the coleslaw this time and enjoy the yummy, cool crunch against my other hot food. My only complaint is that some of the food seemed over seasoned and too salty for my tastes. The rolls, while delicious, were also saturated in butter which made them hard to handle. My wife and I have visited this Logan's several times while living in Redding, and until recently, we've always had great experiences. However, our last two visits were just okay, which is why I'm giving this place three stars. On our second-to-last visit, my wife ordered a Ribeye Steak, and I had the Brisket. The food arrived about 10 minutes later, but both dishes were burnt--her steak was worse than burnt ends, and my brisket was no better. Fortunately, the manager stepped in, comped our meal, and showed genuine concern, which gave us hope that this was just an off night. Wanting to give them another chance, we returned on Friday. This time, my wife ordered the Loaded Potato Skins, and I went with a Salad and Chop Steak from the secret menu. Our food took almost 40 minutes to arrive, and that was only after we asked the Front House Manager about the delay. Meanwhile, our waitress was standing by the bar, more focused on her phone than her tables. The manager, aware of our previous visit, apologized for the prior experience and assured us they'd make it up to us. When the bill arrived, they comped $20 of our meal, which was appreciated. While that helped address the food quality and inattentive service, the long wait was still frustrating. We arrived around 6 p.m., got seated quickly, but didn't receive our food until much later. Being busy is understandable, but a distracted waitress ignoring customers isn't. I didn't even get my salad until she noticed the manager stepping in. Overall, we appreciate the effort to make things right, but the service and consistency need improvement. While people may have off nights and us working in the restaurant industry I know that, people have times where they just dont come through for their Customers with Excellence. While we dont expect it continually, I do give Grace to those who can't always peform at their best. I am leaving this review in hope that Logans will see the some what disatisfaction of their customers and make changes going forward. I came into Logan's Steakhouse in Redding yesterday around 6 PM and sat at the bar for dinner. First off, huge shoutout to Darra, the bartender. The bar was busy, she was juggling multiple tables and making drinks, and she still managed to stay friendly, fast, and attentive. She really kept things running, and she deserves a lot of credit. The food was what I expected -- I had the 16 oz prime rib, broccoli, and rolls -- everything came out as ordered. Where things could improve:    *   There didn't seem to be a manager around to help back up the bar staff during the rush.    *   There were two blonde servers, one in training. They were polite, but the trainee grabbed the water pitcher right in front of me to serve another guest and didn't offer to refill mine.    *   Later, she asked if I was done with my roll basket when I wasn't, which felt a bit rushed. I even told Darra how much I appreciated her, and honestly, it was frustrating that I didn't have cash to tip her directly since tips are pooled -- she really deserved extra recognition for how hard she was working. There has been an ownership change and management shuffle, but we only knew because we had marvelous ongoing exchanges in our conversation with our server (and apparent team-leader for the front of the house Friday night), the efficiently effective and charmingly confident Harleigh. Among an attentive corps of servers and other staff, her support for other staff in no way distracted her from showing special care for our grandchildren and their special needs, not to mention the sometimes slowly-deciding adults with whom they live. Both my wife and I have worked restaurants previously, and when we notice some of the special extras, the "above and beyond the call of duty" in our dining experiences, we're careful to note those verbally and increase our tip accordingly. Our last trip to Logan's Roadhouse was at least six years ago, and the dates on some of the negative reviews here suggest that there was some inattention to detail for a bit. As we shared with Harleigh, my sense from Friday night is that any deficits have been corrected. The quality of all aspects of our meal was exemplary. Online reservation accurate, greeters friendly and communicative, drink orders promptly taken, appetizers timed well, and the full roster of entrees and sides perfectly prepared and attractively presented, with appropriately timed attention to refills of drinks and rolls. (Oh, those ROLLS!) Those who know Logan's from years previous to the pandemic will understand my final question: Does the "roadhouse" ambience survive, despite missing the crunch of peanut shells underfoot? My family came to Logans tonight to celebrate 2 birthdays. We had a wonderful time. Our server was Ricky Bobby and he was right there for everything we needed...he even anticipated some of our needs before we asked! The food was excellent and plentiful. My salad was so fresh and crunchy and the steak on top was so good. Why only 4 stars? Was in town in Redding for work and stayed across the street at the Holiday Inn. Ate here twice for dinner and drinks, first night was meeting up my 6th grade teacher who is local. We sat at the bar, service was great, I had a margarita and she had a glass of red wine. I ordered a burger and fries and she had some mushrooms, service was quick and prices are reasonable. Their bread and butter is SO good!! They don't do peanuts anymore post Covid. The next night I reserved dinner for our team of about 20 people. They split checks and the service was great, the bread and butter kept on coming and our server was accommodating. I wasn't too hungry but I shared a steak with my vegetables with a friend. Some days you get what you want. Other days you get a do over. That was the case this evening when I had the distinct pleasure of being served by Ricky Bobby and Mercy. We took our time ordering sides and tenderness of the steak & tips so it was a surprise when the kitchen threw the wait staff under the bus by sending out overcooked meat and gravy on the mashed that had been requested on the side. Candace the manager on duty came to the rescue and adjusted the bill and made the wait time for the replacement steak easier with light conversation. Saturday night prime rib! There are a FEW restaurants in the Redding area that serve prime rib. But quality can be hit or miss at most of them. Not at Logan's! The prime rib was cooked to perfection! And ya know how frequently you get that piece that looks right but just tastes dry and "powdery" in your mouth? Not here! Our slices were seasoned and cooked to perfection. So much so that even (careful) reheating of the leftovers produced outstanding 2nd night dinner. Ricki Bobby, our waiter, was OUTSTANDING! He made appropriate recommendations and really knew what he was talking about. He was always available and generous with refills. Went there tonight for dinner with my husband, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The service was decent, but the food was terrible. I ordered a steak, mashed potatoes, a side salad, and shrimp. I specifically asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare, but it came out extremely overcooked, well past well done. It was rubbery, dry, and nearly inedible. The shrimp were just as bad burnt, flavorless, and overcooked. I'm not sure why the kitchen thought it was acceptable to serve food in that condition. The only somewhat enjoyable parts of the meal were the mashed potatoes and the side salad. In total, we spent $61 and honestly, we would've been better off grabbing fast food. read more

We wandered in late (think around 8pm) on a Saturday night and were seated within 5 minutes. They seated us in a booth near the bar and within a few minutes the bartender came to assist us. Service wasn't fast, but our server was nice and he had a big section so we know he was busy. There were a few hiccups with our food and they took a good amount of time on the remake meal. The chicken (pictured) was also a little Overdone, likely due to them preparing it so small. Overall our experience was as expected for a restaurant like this. Not horrible, not 5 star amazing. This place reminds me of a Texas Roadhouse, but not as good. They have the same peanuts that they seem to encourage you to toss the shells on the floor. It has the same chain feel to the restaurant and the faux friendly servers. I think the food is just not as good. I got the bacon cheeseburger ($15), something not so complicated to make. My friend got the rib eye with mashed potatoes and some weird veggies. Service was fine and the food showed up in a timely manner. My friend's steak was cooked a little more than he would have liked, but he ate it anyways. He said the meat quality was just OK and was a little tough. My bacon cheeseburger was just OK, it was made incorrectly, I mean the assembly was backwards with the meat patty on the bottom and the veggies and tomato on top .... WRONG! You put the meat on TOP of the veggies so that the meat juices wont soak directly into the bun and make a squishy mess and have the burger fall apart in the diners hands! Basic burger making people! I flipped the burger over and just ate it upside down. My fries were not hot as they should be, so they were sitting uner the heat lamp or my order just was sitting on the ready counter for too long before the server got it. Overall I've had a better experience at a Texas Roadhouse. This place not so much and I don't think I'll be back. Better steaks in Redding elsewhere. read more
