Buddha bowl with tofu
Doris G.

Ordered the Buddha bowl with tofu. I thought it was going to be a cold salad with cubes of tofu but when I went to pick it up it was warm. Wow such a treat to have beans, rice , and hot tofu, and salad greens. I feel really happy and healthy eating this. Service was very friendly and place was busy, this place must be good

Awesome Buddha Bowl!

Awesome food! Only got 4 stars because of the uncomfortable seating but the Buddha Bowls are amazing!

Hot Pastrami Sandwich takeout at the Sundial Bridge.

Wilda's Grill is one of the best local restaurants in Redding. They have a cultural variety of fast-casual lunch menu options, but my favorites are the Hot Pastrami followed by the popular Buddha Bowl, and you've got to try their sweet potato fries with that garlic aoili. They have great service, great music, and great food for dining in or takeout.

The Wilda

Bordering 4/5 stars. Everything we got was delish and good size portions. Service was super nice and fast as well. Sour dough rolls were perfectly toasted, each dog was juicy and flavorful. Highly recommend the bbq! 1 dog is very filling, hubby got 2 and was overly stuffed but still wanted a 3rd. Easy to find seating even though they were busy. Only reason I didn't give a full 5 was there was really only 1 veggie option, the falafel. No veggie dogs and no eggplant like what some other reviewers posted. I would come back again if we are ever near here.

Falafel!

Ordered the Falafel this time and it definitely didn't disappoint! Loaded with freshness and so tasty! I'll be sure to order this again

Wilda's Grill sits right behind the Dairy Queen in a mini mall on Churn Creek. As you walk in, order at the front and take your seat. They have self serve water but have to ask for a cup! Buddha Bowl w/ chicken and tofu - 10 - What a flavor combination!!! I would have never come with with this concoction but it is full of labors and spice with an adventure in every bite. The Chinese food container it's served in is cute, but makes it challenging to eat until it's half gone but you'll already be full. Hot Pastrami - 9 - The pastrami was moist, tender and full of flavor. The bun was so soft and the perfect thickness. It was also filled with banana peppers I would have liked a touch of mustard and Swiss cheese. Sweet Potato Fries - 8 - Slightly less crisp than I prefer and the garlic aoli it's served with just doesn't work for me The fries taste good on their own though. This place was poppin' on a Friday afternoon but we were able to find a table without a wait. This is my new favorite place to eat in Tedding!

This is a great place for a lunch stop when passing through Redding, especially if you like falafels and hot dogs! For me, it's hard to find a falafel that compares with my favorite place back in Los Angeles but this one was really good! Plus, it only costs $8.95! My husband is the hot dog fan and he went for the Wilda's Dog which comes with "Wilda's mustard," sauerkraut, bacon crumbles, and grilled onions. It only costs $7.25 and with all those toppings it is massive! The service was pretty fast but it was a little warm inside when we were there. We would stop by again when passing through town.

Buddha Both Bowl

The food here is the best! The Buddha Bowl are like chipotle, but seem to be healthier and taste so good. My favorite is the Buddha both bowl. It comes with chicken and spicy tofu. It comes in a little Togo box, but so much fits within the box. This place is cheap and my go to lunch spot. I always order online through doordash, but may be a little cheaper if you order there in person. About 10 dollars a meal, which is very good nowadays. If you get the hot dogs they are even cheaper.

We were tourists in redding for a few days and decided to check out Wildas grill because it seemed to be one of the popular joints in town. My bf and I were surprised that a hot dog place was known for their salad bowl instead of their hot dogs (it was also the biggest flashiest thing on the menu!) So of course we went with the buddha bowl and it was pretty up to par! Think a chipotle bowl but hot and more flavor. We got it togo and the box was pretty annoying though. They tried to fit a whole meal into a tiny takeout box making it hard to mix.. we ate everything on top first and ended up eating the rice and beans in the bottom separately

Plain hot dog - not good

Came here as a pit stop to the Shasta caverns. It's clean, lots of indoor seating, and many different options for hot dogs or Buddha bowl. We got the Buddha bowl (brown rice, beans, cabbage) with falafel, regular plain hot dog, and fries. Highly recommend the Buddha bowl, but not the plain hotdog - husband hated it because it tasted like it was boiled instead of grilled, so it was a bit soggy and cold. Toddler loved their fries and I loved their Buddha bowl - so good! I wouldn't come here for the hotdogs; definitely recommend coming here for the Buddha bowls!

Found another great spot on Yelp…read more This place is a kind of simple, no frills place that has GREAT food. You can see their high quality meats they display in the cold case kind of like a deli (in fact I wouldn't be surprised if this was formerly a deli). You pick chicken, beef or lamb and how you like it (shawarma / wrap, on a plate) and minutes later you are served some absolute deliciousness. If you like Mediterranean food, you will love this place. I say this as someone from SF who enjoys some of the best you can get anywhere. This place is on point and I am contemplating ordering some for delivery on day 2 of my visit!

That lamb and beef? Thin-sliced, perfectly seasoned, with just enough crispy on the edge to make every bite count. Laid over a bed of fluffy golden rice, it was practically begging for that cool, creamy tzatziki and trust me, they didn't hold back. The hummus was rich and smooth, and the fresh chopped salad balanced out the plate like a well-packed saddlebag. But what really sealed the deal? The stellar service fast, friendly, and full of good vibes. They treat you like a regular even if it's your first time. And at just $13.99, this kind of quality and portion size feels like robbery... the good kind. So if you're wandering inland and your boots need a break, make your way to Ali Baba. The entrance was a bit tough to recognize. In addition, the sign requesting patrons to wait to be seated was absent personnel. The youngster arrived while on the phone taking a reservation. Further delay as she coordinated seating for the large group (showing up on Wednesday, she shared). She mentioned they were slow and said I could select whatever table I liked. I ordered a savory martini and filet mignon, mashed potatoes and French onion soup. Soup arrived with the martini and the two could not have been more oppositely received. The soup exquisite, the martini...nearly undrinkable. But to be fair, I wasn't expecting an overwhelming bell pepper flavor. Black pepper Absolute Vodka was the description. I detest bell peppers. I tried to choke down as much as I could, then decided to give up halfway through. The soup was sublime. A 1/4 inch slice of brown toast under the melted Swiss cheese, the broth and onions delicious. I requested a 6 ounce pour of the Caymus California Cabernet Sauvignon with the steak. It arrived with my meat and potatoes beautifully plated. I'm not sure I wasn't served a sirloin. That filet was the shape of no filet I've ever bought or been served. But it was perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes were sublime - buttery and flavorful. The wine with less tannins than I anticipated- I really enjoyed that. Service was attentive and both the hostess and my server checked on me. My drive back to Sacramento will be pleasant.

Mac and cheese with bacon, French onion soup and the surf & turf skewers. French onion Soup was DELICIOUS, we added a little salt to the other two dishes and they were really good too. For dinner I ordered the $24 Caesar - it was good and it was big but it was a lot for a basic good tasting Caesar. Husband ordered the Chicken Parm over pasta with a red sauce and he loved it. Portion was huge and he brought half home. For dessert we had the cheesecake and the cream brûlée, both really good. Only downside, if you are dropping almost $200 for dinner, the bathrooms need to be clean and upscale. Mold in the ladies room toilet at the waterline - yuck - and Toilet paper dispenser broken and laying on the floor in the stall. This needs improvement. Overall we were happy with our meal and we will be back.
