Breakfast sandwich, ham and eggs, pancakes
    Lauren S.

Went here before our day in Lassen nation park - Exactly what you'd want it to be!! Solid food solid service solid vibes. Partner got breakfast sandwich, I got ham and eggs which were all simple but good. Decent pancakes. Would go again simply because service was very quick, and the ambiance was charming.

Been in Redding for a week now and just found out about this place on day 3 of being here.. I'm eating here every day until I go back home! This is the most affordable "real food" and what I love the most is it's family owned! Miss G and Uncle Jose are great people and are so welcoming. They have daily specials on top of their regular menu. Thanks for the great service Miss G and Tito Jose! I hope to dine in soon

Jose at the grill working hard.

It was easily the best breakfast experience I've had in a long time. This looks like all the other industrial warehouses in the area, but do not be fooled... the food is outstanding, and the owner is a unique, friendly, and dedicated human. In between making the orders Jose turned and talked with me as I sat at the counter. He explained how he has been running the business for 26 years with his wife. She ran around helping customers, and accepting payment. He steadily worked the grill. The conversation I had with Jose was memorable. We talked about things like gardening, bison, Montana, and his business. His attitude was so laid back and genuine... I got the feeling that he really enjoys his work... which is wonderful being that he has been at it for 26 years. I ordered bacon and eggs with sourdough toast. The food was quality breakfast fare. A couple tables of regular customers chatted behind me and helped themselves to the coffee pot for refills... so I did too. This was a small, family atmosphere place. Nothing corporate about it. The kind of atmosphere I would eat my breakfast in any time I am given the chance. Thank you Jose for the friendly banter and quality food. Your establishment is a diamond in the rough. Respect.

Doesn't look like much in the outside, but turns out Josè's is nice little hole-in-the-wall restaurant/diner. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant was neat and well-kept, even though it's small. We the two specials of the day: the tamale pie and the green chili burger. So delicious!!

Great food, but the service was not really great. The French toast was not very good. But the rest of the food was awesome.

Located in the Placer Heights Plaza, next to Starbucks. Same plaza as Holiday Market and CVS Pharmacy. We were seated immediately as they were not busy. The menu was a bit different than online. Our server came to take our order. He didn't introduce himself and seemed like he didn't want to be there. We decided on the fried green tomatoes, fried chicken sandwich and catfish po' boy. When the po' boy came out, we thought it was burnt! We didn't know the catfish will be blackened by default. We thought it will be fried since it is a po' boy. The options can be blackened or fried based on the menu online. We were not given those options by our server. They brought out the food but didnt provide utensils until minutes later. Fried green tomatoes: It was good. Fried perfectly. The dressing that was tossed with the side salad was super salty. Catfish po' boy: Fish was tender but super salty as well. Fried chicken sandwich: Pretty good sandwich. Chicken was huge. The fries was so soggy, not crispy at all. Also very greasy. We were a bit disappointed as we drove out of our way to try this place. Nice ambiance though. I felt I was a bit underdressed lol

I ordered the breakfast burrito and my partner had some pancakes. The burrito was decently sized tasted fresh and was nice and filling, no complaints there. The pancakes were really good and fluffy. Staff was friendly whipped up some spicy salsa for me since my breakfast burrito needed a little kick and was very attentive. There's a good amount of seating for the size of the place and they had a small bar area which I thought was a nice touch. Solid little spot of people to stop by and grab a bite to eat.

We had just taken our daughter to a water park so we were dressed rather casual. Albeit very casual and partially wet front the water we were greeted immediately and seated outside. I love Al fresco dining which they offer with misters on their outside patio. Our little one got to run around while we waited on our order. The craft root beer and burgers were top notch. I ordered the GOAT burger with arugula and bacon jam. It did not disappoint. My husband got the widow which was also quite delectable. Both burgers were cooked perfectly and the flavors complemented each other. Little notes of arugula, salty bacon, sweet jam, goat cheese, beef combined with a buttery fluffy bun made it a masterpiece. I upgraded to the duck fat and Parmesan fries. These are must try. Better than any fries I've had in NYC, SoCal Italy Germany or anywhere. Their fries were hand cut, the herbs and Parmesan were so fresh and drizzled with duck fat oil just sent them over the top. My husband upgraded to the cheese curds which were perfect as well. Their house ranch was also great and I'm a ranch snob. We were hungry and were served quickly with a smile. Our server or manager was on top of everything but not smothering. We will be back soon, this is a must try! Kid friendly but also a place you could come dressed to impress and enjoy as well. Thank you!

Sounds like a vacation to me!

We chose Woody's because our little one wanted mac 'n cheese and they have some of the best in town! I cannot rave enough about the restaurant and how well they handled the party. The booking process was easy and completed via e-mail. This aspect was handy as I didn't have to leave the house or make a phone call on a busy day. The gentleman I spoke to answered all of my questions during the booking process. On the day of the party, we showed up a few minutes early to put up some decorations. A waitress and waiter came and greeted us right away. The owner even came by, promptly, and introduced himself to me. The kindess and professionalism was outstanding. Our waitress (I wish I remembered her name! I feel terribly that I can't provide it.) did an outstanding job! We were a big group of people and she took all of our orders, answered questions, and helped us with anything we needed. I hope it can be determined who worked that day so she can be given her kudos as she was lovely! Lastly, the kitchen staff did a great job getting our food out in a timely manner. I was impressed by their speed and the food was delicious. As the restaurant was busy, we didn't have a chance to say thank you one final time before we left. So, thank you again, Woody's!
