Food was so good! Service was great and it was so cute in there! Recommend the queso barria tacos 10/10

My small family visited this restaurant for dinner yesterday. After we went to the counter (and carrying a stroller up the stairs to get there), we learned it would be 30 minutes and so we put my phone number down and they would text me when a table opened up. Within 10 minutes a table was available, but we had just gotten ice cream so we brought it with us they were nice about it. We sat at a high top table next to the window. we held the baby. The food was fast and accurate. My gluten free spouse chose the carnitas with gf tortillas. The gluten free tortillas look like flour tortillas but they assured us they were correct. Both spouse and our baby enjoyed these (even the scallions). For vegetarian tacos, I ordered the Jack fruit and veggie special (blistered shishito peppers). Both were cold (is that normal?). As a vegetarian, I would pick the impossible taco next time. Overall the vegetarian tacos were a bit disappointing but the queso was delish my 5 year old also enjoyed a quesadilla with impossible meat (she ate the whole thing) . read more

Inventive flavors for a resort town full of all things seafood. Service is kind. Atmosphere is laidback, typical of the slow vacation place of the town itself. Really cool atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Quesa birria tacos are a must. Packed with flavor and plenty of cheese. The carnitas and pollo rojo tacos were horrible. The meat had zero flavor, almost like it was steamed, and there were barely any toppings on them. Guacamole and chips were great as well. The chips taste homemade and the guac had tons of flavor. Service was OK. Not overly friendly and it can take a while for them to take your food order. Food comes out fast though. read more

I was skeptical of Mexican food in Maine as someone who is Californian and knows what good Mexican food is (both in California and Mexico). However, Instagram convinced me to give this place a try. F O O D: the tacos were okay. It was disappointing to not see any cheese on even the chicken taco. While we would get the chicken tacos again, we would not get the impossible tacos. The Tijuana Caesar was really bad. It tasted off, as if it had some funky dairy in it. It was the biggest disappointment I've experienced food wise at a restaurant in a while (or perhaps ever). The food was delicious I had the birria tacos and a side of rice and beans. The birria was very tender and had an amazing flavor. The rice and beans are just rice and beans it's nothing special but it's still delicious. The service was extremely good and fast, we got greeted and seated within a minute of walking in the door. Way overpriced but great atmosphere, food is OK. My girlfriend had pork tacos which were tasty. WHERES THE FISH?? I had 2 fish tacos. There was 1 piece of fried batter on each taco. Maybe a small morsel of fish (you had to search for it). For $20 and being on the ocean I expected a little more! I relayed this kindly to our waiter who responded "I know, sorry". So glad to finally get here! Loved the vibe and the food. The upstairs location had me expecting something small and serviceable, but it's impressive what they made of the space. And the food was excellent! Fiesta guac added pepitas and pomegranate seeds, which were fun but the guac didn't need them. Chips were great. We got three tacos: the Impossible Taco was amazing, just the right amount of heat, very flavorful. The veggie with sweet potatoes also great, kind of sweet but enough tang not to be TOO sweet. What an awesome little spot in Ogunquit! A unique feel and awesome staff makes you feel like you belong. I really liked the choice to limit the menu which lead to a higher quality for what they do make. We started with a guacamole and salsa and they were really good and served with their fresh made chips.We then tried an assortment of their tacos which all tasted unique and very good! I was in Ogunquit for a few nights with my family and even though we love lobster, we needed a change-up, so we tried this little hole in the wall taqueria. It's on a rooftop surrounded by foliage, hence its name. We had to wait for a table, and the waitstaff was very nice. We started with some chips and guac, which were pretty good, and I also got a Raspberry Cooler to drink. It was nicely presented and tart! Then we moved on to the tacos themselves. I got two of the quesa birria tacos with the slaw as a side. Oh my god, these tacos are heavenly. They were warm and filled with cheese and flavorful birria, and when you dipped it in the consommé (au jus), it blew my mind. The slaw was really good too, it was a good palate cleanser. The staff was incredibly accommodating with our toddler -- they even had high chairs for both regular and high-top tables, which made things so much easier for us. What a fun spot! Everyone that works here is super friendly - we loved our waitress. The outdoor seating area gives you a nice view of the Main Street below too. Very trendy and "instagramable" but in a fun and not a forced way. Food was delicious and filling. Margs are great!! Had to grab dessert to go because I was so full. The trio of apps (guacamole, salsa and queso) and chips is generously sized for 2. The raspberry lemon mocktail was delicious! Ask for the house hot sauce, if you like heat- they need to bottle it! The street corn doesn't need to be served with chips- great as a side dish on its own. Do not sleep on this place! I was not sure what to expect as many of the reviews mentioned the price was not worth what you got. We left absolutely STUFFED after three tacos and splitting one app! We loved that you could mix and match the tacos (I got their special- a blacked scallop taco and my husband a birria and pork shoulder taco combo!) Their homemade pico and salsa is absolutely delicious and we could not believe how good the food was. We inhaled our food before we could remember to take a photo but we will 10000000% be returning. The waitstaff was super accommodating of my gluten intolerance and even allowed my husband to mix and match regular and gluten free shells so that we could share. The food was good, one of my birria tacos was pretty much all cheese, but that didn't bother me as much as the service being on the slow side. I found myself turning around on more than occasion looking for my waiter because my water was empty, and the cherry on top was having to wait upwards of 15 minutes for the waiter to take my payment for the food. I ate here with my husband during vacation. The reason that we chose to come here was I am vegetarian and they had vegetarian options on the menu. I ordered a skinny margarita, which was very good. It was nice and tart however, I like it however I think the house margarita is also very good and tart. I do not like syrup drinks not that. I was initially going to get two tacos however I figured. Let me try all three of the vegetarian options. The vegetable taco was by far the best. Lots of flavor. I was a little disappointed with the other two tacos. The jackfruit taco was very, very sweet. I believe it was soaked and pineapple juice cause that's pretty much all you can. Taste is sweet pineapple juice. The impossible one was and not hot so it was hard to tell. I did like the rice and beans as well. My husband loves seafood and the reason that we are visiting Maine ordered three lobster tacos. He did like the lobster tacos and eat them all. Me and my family go to Ogunquit every 3rd weekend of October and always just miss going here, as it usually closes earlier in the month. But this year they were open and we were so excited to try it and it didn't disappoint! The margaritas and tacos were excellent and the bartender/owner, Peter, was great! One thing I know is you cannot tell someone something is fish if it's shellfish. If it's lack of understanding by staff your entire job is to train them. Chips and Queso - ultimately were chips and a white béchamel sauce, minus flavor or seasoning. Short rib under seasoned by a lot. Yes I am French but for the love of god blue cheese sauce and chimi? Birria tacos tasted as if they had cinnamon and sugar on them. Yes, I know Birria contains cinnamon but a big fat no. Thankfully my husband is not classically French trained. Rice under seasoned, beans definitely as well. Slaw lacked any salt but ok. However , the one thing that I cannot look past! Ordered two fresh catch tacos. Specified fish right? Sure did because someone with a shrimp allergy definitely knows what they can and cannot eat. Take a big bite and they were shrimp. Immediate hives. Super fun. read more

Perfect place for happy hour! $8 margaritas which I really enjoyed. My kids loved the guacamole and chips. I think the tacos could have been seasoned better. I wasn't really impressed with them.
