    Fried Haddock Sandwich
    Clare C.

Came here on a Saturday for lunch after our half marathon. The parking signs were a little confusing but we were able to park across the street. We had a group of 6 and they said it would be about a 30 minute wait. The wait ended up being much longer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They seemed very overwhelmed by the amount of people in town for the race.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They told us they would be able to seat us after about an hour but we would have to wait for a server. We said that was fine and it took about another 15-20 minutes before our server came. We could tell she was not happy when she got to us but she warmed up over time. The menu has a variety of pizzas, sandwiches, and other entrees. Once we ordered the food came out pretty promptly. We were a little surprised. The food came out before the drinks that were ordered which was a little odd. I ordered the fried haddock sandwich. It was good. Nothing super crazy. There were large chunks of the fried batter that I didn't love but the fish part was good. Service was definitely a little rough and food was average

My wife and I love checking out every brewery we can. This was our second location of Batson River we have visited, the first one being their Kennebunk spot. This was a much better experience than that one. I still classify our experience here as average and will have no desire to rush back. Overall from a wide variety of times trying beers at their locations, other bars, and cans at home I have not been super impressed by any of their beers. A few have been decent but in general I will grab beers from other Maine breweries before. Service wise this visit the host and our server were friendly and attentive although wait times at moments were long. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole ambiance of the spot is a bar that feels more home like than the average bar. The fish camp aspect fits well too because all the fish mounted on the walls too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lastly food wise it was all decent but nothing I will remember long term. We started with the venison tostada nachos that were good but I expected a little more with the venison. For our entrees I got the fish & chips while my wife got the burger. Maybe they forgot but didn't ask how my wife wanted the burger cooked, it was a little more done than she wanted. Both our fries were under seasoned. With so many breweries/restaurants I have enjoyed more I am going with the three stars. Honestly if you are in the area and looking to try it out, give it a shot! Your experience may be better than ours.

I love this place! We stumbled upon it on a trip to Maine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's really cute and funky inside with different vibes in different rooms.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I started off with one of the fabulous cocktails, which one, I don't remember! But it was tasty! To start off, we got the duck poutine, which was ONG unbelievable! I still dream about it. I got the lobster which is hot buttery and delicious and my friend got the fish tacos, which were also outstanding. Our server was really nice and very efficient. All in all a great experience!

This was my first time at this Batson River location and I can say it's almost the same as the other location. Menu is fairly the same and had plenty of options. My go to is the wings with a side of the sweet chili sauce. Our server was fantastic as she kept checking in on us and made sure we were set. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location was nice and had outside dining, however it was fairly smaller than the other locations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would highly recommend coming here!

Date night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful night to eat outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great location and is easy to drive to from Route 1. Plenty of parking and indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was very attentive and the menu was diverse enough to meet our dietary needs. I truly enjoyed the mushroom pizza and found it very flavorful. Full bar and local brew options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Intimate dinner or group outing, Batson River Fish Camp will work for you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside, but the inside had awesome decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Check it out.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wonderful atmosphere/service & food...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the Maine Muscles for an app and they were very tasty! The burger I ordered was cooked exactly to my specifications & the lettuce/onions etc were in perfect proportions to compliment the taste of the burger without overpowering it. My husband had the fish tacos and he thought they were wonderful, with mango and purple cabbage slaw! I also ordered a Chardonnay and it was a quality wine & great accompaniment to the meal. We will definitely be back!

Took 15 minutes for somebody to greet us at the table. The tacos were pretty good but the drinks were overpriced and not worth the money.

What we ordered: -Cornbread: 3/5, great portion to share with the table and piping hot which I loved but wish it was moister and had more honey on top. -Caesar salad: 5/5, incredibly fresh, dressing was delicious and evenly spread among the whole salad, fresh anchovies on top were a nice touch -Crabcakes: 4.8/5, only comes with 2 but the cakes were very fresh and flavorful. The corn on top was very boring I wish they spiced it up a bit but it did not take away from the flavor of the cakes so I kept the score high. -Lobster Pappardelle: 5/5, one of my favorite meals we ate on vacation!! Generous lobster portion with perfectly cooked pappardelle in a very tasty sauce. I already miss it and wish I could eat it again. -Braised Short Rib: 3.8/5, beautiful presentation and everything tasted great but very small polenta/carrot portions and I wish the meat was more tender. It wasn't bad, it just didn't blow my socks off. -Espresso crème brûlée: 4.5/5, was the perfect birthday dessert for my boyfriend and he absolutely loved it. Quality espresso flavor, wish it was a little crispier on top. Food was ~4/5 but our overall experience was 5/5. Our server, Pedro, was so friendly and helped us with dish recommendations. When I told him we were celebrating a birthday, he brought the crème brûlée out with a candle and two other staff members to sing to him which was so sweet. We will definitely come back here next time we're in town!

We sat at a table by the window on the first floor. We overheard that there is an upstairs bar, not sure if they also seat folks for dinner there. We were able to place an order right after getting settled. We enjoyed the Sun mocktail, charred beet salad, mac and cheese, fried codd sandwich, steak frites, and corn ravioli (without the pancetta). My spouse is gluten free and I am vegetarian so we are always looking for restaurants that can accommodate both. The charred beet salad was good but I think dressed a bit too heavily. I thought the corn ravioli and sun mocktail were both great. The kids (ages 1.5 and 5) liked the Mac and cheese and fried cod sandwich. They did not have any appropriate booster seats for the 1.5 year old so my spouse held him. My spouse loved the steak frites but I think wished had a few more "frites" given the amount of interest from the younger crowd. Our waiter was wonderful and also brought some orange slices from the bar for the kids. We were very grateful. We decided to go nearby for ice cream after dinner, but I heard there is a dessert menu.

The highlight for me is, without question, the two-foot lobster roll. It's huge, loaded with fresh lobster from end to end, and served on a perfectly soft sub roll. Every time I order it, I'm reminded why I keep coming back. It's not just a novelty because of the size. It's genuinely delicious, generously filled, and an incredible value for the amount of lobster you get. It's easily one of my favorite lobster rolls anywhere. The restaurant has a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere that's great for families, couples, or anyone looking for a relaxed meal. The staff is consistently kind and attentive, and Barb always stands out. She's warm, friendly, and genuinely makes guests feel appreciated. It's refreshing to find a place that's been so consistent over multiple visits. Great food, generous portions, and people who clearly care about their customers keep me coming back. We came here at around 5PM on a Monday, you know, prime time dinner hours, and the place wasn't too busy (it definitely got busier). This place screams New England from the second you walk in to the second you leave. The cozy environment and seafood based menu kind of makes picking what to order pretty easy, especially when a two foot long lobster roll is a menu staple, so that's exactly what I ordered. The lobster roll came with chips that I wasn't even able to touch since the giant roll and lobster consumed every inch of my stomach (I really should have gotten a smaller one). I gotta be honest here, I ordered the giant lobster roll hot and with butter and I couldn't even tell if butter was used or not. I think my main issue is how dense the roll is, at some point I had to just start taking the lobster off since the bread was so thick. Overall, Bull N' Claw is a solid seafood restaurant in a state built on sea food restaurants. I totally get why my parents love this place, but the lobster roll itself was pretty bland compared to other ones I've had in the area and I probably won't be returning on future trips to New England. The staff was great, the place looks really cool, and this place is definitely somewhere worth checking out because it might just be a favourite for you.

The food was great as well, though I wasn't a particularly big fan of the wood-fired beets (if you like horseradish on beet, you would like them). Fried oysters were great, I mean really good. Spaghetti with guanciale is absolutely incredible; key lime pie similarly amazing. Overall, I'll be back here. Plan to spend at least $50 per person. What a great location.

We understood it would be a limited holiday brunch menu instead of the regular dinner menu, which was fine. However, by the time we sat down to order, almost all of the options were already sold out. Our entire table basically had to order the exact same thing because there was nothing else left. The space is lovely and it's a nice spot for a regular dinner, but they were definitely not equipped for the holiday rush. Don't go for Mother's Day.
