We were genuinely excited to go to this place, until we actually did. The service was just awful. Nice interior design, but then we went to the bar while we waited for our reservation. Finally get the bartender's attention, give him 3 out of 4 drink orders and when I go to ask the 4th in our party what he wants, I go back to give the last order to the bartender and he is gone. Gone to wait on someone else. Instead of coming back to me he waits on someone else, changes a keg and gets a beer sample to someone who's actually in our party and chats with a co-worker. Then, eventually comes back to us. We place the order, he comes back to ask me to repeat it, then gets one of the drinks wrong. He gave the beer that my friend sampled, but we didn't actually order. He gets pissed and says, "Thanks for telling me" what I'm guessing he thinks is under his breath, but he really knows better. Rude, inattentive, inefficient. Great combo for a bartender. We get our table in a timely manner. Despite the bar experience, we're still into it. The waiter seems nice enough. We ordered a new round of drinks and appetizers that we shared. We made a little mess passing things around, but the table was never wiped. He cleared the table, but left the mess. He took the dirty silverware off of the appetizer plates and put them down on the same filthy table for us to reuse. We've been there for an hour and he comes over to take our dinner order and two of us had decided on the duck. "Oh, we just ran out of the duck -- sorry." Really? Now, all of us at the table are past restaurant people. Bartenders, waiters and a cook. It is regular practice for the kitchen to let the front of the house know when items are low, so they can communicate it to their tables. Not here. Bush league. We adjust our order. Entrees come in a timely manner and our placed in front of us on the still filthy table. Here's why this a two star review and not a one star -- the food is good. We all agree. But staying on the poor service track, we ask the waiter what the whole fish is that one of the ladies had ordered and he says "Seabring." None of us had heard of it, so we googled it. Didn't come up. Why? Because it doesn't exist. We then ask the busboy if he knows fish and he immediately says "scup." Hey, a real fish! At least the busboy new. There was one waitress working the bar tables when we were there. She was very pleasant and attentive. Had just had a table open for 4 and asked if we wanted it. But they had just called us for our table. We all agreed we should have sat with her. Just instinct, but if you do go here -- look for her. read more
