Sure customer service could be better but I came here for the pastries and the wide space and shorter lines. This location took the original Koryod@ng's a few years ago but has grown on me whenever I want to catch the bus to Bayside. It's conveniently located in front of 3 bus stops and has a decent parking space. Food is always good. Get the savory double egg and ham bakery! But recently I bought a so-called "Green Tea Butter Cream Bread" - and it was horrendous taste of chemical. I gave it to try to my husband - and he too described the taste as if he eats something "chemical". Don't anyone try to play my words around, as I am well aware that the whole material world consists of chemicals. That's not what I mean here, obviously. The pastries are a little expensive around 3 bucks a piece compared to a typical Chinese bakery, but it is to be expected for a high end place like this. Tried the different croquettes, shrimp dumpling croquette, curry croquette, regular croquette, and a braised beef short rib bun. The shrimp dumpling croquette was an interesting filling, but it didnt mesh well and was unnecessary. Better to eat it separately, not in a bun. The curry croquette was really good. Highly recommend. The beef bun was a little sweet from the sauce. Asked the cashier for a cold drink recommendation and got the watermelon hibiscus iced tea. Very refreshing, but the cup size was small for 5 bucks and half the cup was all ice. I can understand why other reviews said it was a little too pricey. Overall a nice location to chill for a bun and a small drink. Saw a lot of people order takeout, so the demand is definitely there even though it's bear Chinatown. read more

The chicken croquette had a nice crunch to it but otherwise tasted like baloney with 2 meager pieces of chicken. The whipped cream bread was a disappontment. Where was the whipped cream I know and love? Won't be back anytime soon. Older: Had a friend recommend their custard cream bread loaf so I gave it a try. $5 isn't a bad price for a whole loaf. Their prices are slightly higher than Paris Baguette (approx 25% more in some instances) but their baked goods are arguably superior. Their Danish- is the best I've ever had! Crisp flakey exterior and rich, fluffy cheese in the center. Their Magic Mocha Cream bread is airy, smells of coffee with a hint of sugar. Even though my overactive home heater melted all the cream and icing atop the bread and the icing smeared along top of the packaging, the bread is still delicious and somewhat presentable. The coffee macaroon had the best crunch but creamy factor that a macaroon should have. The cream inside had a delicious espresso taste making me feel like I was having another shot of coffee!! So an update on Tous Les Jours! I still don't come here often but when I do I don't usually go for their buns or anything, even though it looks pretty. The last few times I went in with some co workers to grab a coffee. Well, they got coffees but I decided on a caramel macchiato. It came out to about 3. 25 or so, which isn't that bad I guess if compared to starbucks and whatnots. I saw the way they made it and when I got my drink I was fairly impressed. The reason being that it's not overly sweet at all. There was a hint of caramel but not TOO much. After that one time I came three more times for their macchiato. I've gotten one of their sweet buns. A bear shaped one, it had red bean inside . When I took a bite I was surprised that the bread wasn't dense at all. It was actually pretty light and fluffy. The red bean paste inside wasn't too sweet or heavy as well. It was the cute shape that had me go for it . I still don't crave for their buns whatsoever only their drink. The outside was so crispy, and the inside was filled with just the right amount of lightly seasoned shrimp and squid. I was surprised at the tender texture of the squid.
