An old school bakery that's been around for over 30+ years. Their signature dessert is their version of Boston Creme Pies. Super good! A big hit every time I bring it to BBQ parties. I buy them a few times a year. Boston Creme Pies: Perfectly lightly sweet and soft spongy cake layered with some fresh whipped cream. Comes in a variety of flavors: vanilla, chocolate, etc. Strawberry being my favorite. There are also the usually Chinese bakery items here, like buns and such. They are okay. Nothing out of the ordinary. You are really here to get the Boston creme pie! Birthday cakes can also be ordered here, with old fashioned designs though. Cake is nice and light and moist. I came back to Yeh's Bakery to pickup a 10" strawberry cake ($43) for a teamsgiving gathering at work. A few days prior, I called and placed my order. The staff member I spoke to on the phone was helpful and took down all my information like my phone number, which date I was coming to pick it up, the size and flavor of the cake, and if I wanted anything written on the cake. I told her I wanted "Happy Teamsgiving" written on it. When I arrived, the staff member asked me for my phone number and she went to the back to grab the strawberry cake and wrote on it. I asked for a knife and she put it on top of the box. Yeh's Bakery is still cash only, so make sure you bring cash. I always go to this bakery for one thing and one thing only. Their Boston crème cakes are absolutely heavenly. It is not only light and fluffy and but is also creamy and not too sweet. I usually get the original but once in a while if I am feeling adventurous, I get the strawberry one as well. I've personally been coming here for 16 years and the quality is exactly the same as it was my first day trying out their buns, pastries, coffee, and cake. If you know Asians (especially older ones), you know they love their sweets light and "not too sweet." The pies come in two flavors, vanilla and strawberry though I do wish they made a matcha version as their matcha cake are just as delicious. The bakery itself is very small it's a take out restaurant there isn't a place to dine in. It's so light and airy, so soft and fluffy, and so freaking good. Sponge cakes are already good, but sponge cakes with cream are even better. Yeh's also serves slices of some of their light, airy, and soft sponge cakes for $1.70 (sliced flavors like the green tea and vanilla, but not the strawberry or taro). Whole rolls go for $15 each. Cakes start at 8 inches with flavors including vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, green tea, taro, and chestnut. You can even make the cakes into a heart shape! For their egg tarts, their custard is very light and soft. Great for people who don't like their egg tarts too creamy or heavy! Being a Taiwanese bakery, they also sell Taiwanese pineapple cakes at $2 each with two cake rectangles inside. The next time I go to Taiwan, imma eat pineapple cakes like these everyday. But the bakery's looks are deceiving, because those classics and more await inside a long glass case that fills half the space. My wife and I tried a half-dozen sweets when we stopped in; everything was remarkably light, nothing was too sweet. Flavors were surprisingly similar among different items. One exception was the pineapple cookie, a real standout that has a buttery crust and is more akin to a pineapple pie. There are also some relatively savory options, such as a salted egg yolk with red bean paste in a light pastry shell.
