Green tea cake
Anh Y.

One of my favorite places to get a cake for family gatherings. So far, I've tried the green tea cake, strawberry cake, and the Boston cream pie, and I love them all. I usually call a day before with my order, and request any messages I'd like on top. When you arrive, they show you the cake before they box it. Even if I have less than 20 people that the 12" round cake can feed, I order it because everyone asks for extra slices and leftovers to take home. Their cakes are fresh, flavorful, light, and not too sweet. It's still cash only, but there's a bank ATM next door in case you forget to bring cash.

I always go to this bakery for one thing and one thing only. Their Boston crème cakes are absolutely heavenly. It is not only light and fluffy and but is also creamy and not too sweet. I usually get the original but once in a while if I am feeling adventurous, I get the strawberry one as well. The strawberry one is definitely a favorite for me but that is because the kid in me loves the lightly artificial strawberry flavor. But this is definitely a must try if you are in the area (the sell the original in individual slices too)! It is a small bakery with quick service and always worth the drive!

Great little bakery to grab some fresh clean dessert or snacks. - Curry bun was plain looking bun with some curry powder for flavor, but somehow it was very good to snack on, so simple yet just enough interesting flavors to keep you munching until it's all gone. - Boston cream pie = the famous item here nice and spongy. Everyone loved it, but I only just liked it. - Green tea cake = this was the best for me, with good flavor and such soft texture. We tried the slices one day, then few days later bought the entire roll to take for a big family gathering, so I could eat it again:) Cash only, good prices. Def worth to grab some snacks or dessert. Small store just choose things from counter, pay, go and enjoy:)

Cozy local family run bakery with nice coffee, tea. Excellent sponge cakes that are a great afternoon snack. Not too heavy. Very tasty.

Still my favorite cake! We ordered for pick up on Thanksgiving Day. Lines were long but goes quickly and the cake is always a hit. Strawberry with extra fruit, YUM!

Service is great. They offer a very transitional cake and not too sweet. Price is very friendly and and overall service is good.

Small family owned no frills bakery but offering the best green tea cake. Bit pricey compared to other asian bakeries and often difficult to park but you pay for the best.

Had to stop by when I'm in the neighborhood. Today I tried the rainbow roll. The other shell was a little dry, but the strawberry, matcha and vanilla cake were soft and moist. This cake could use a little more cream.

Bad food might be expired and still selling

Be careful with The cake. Check before you get them. Yesterday bought it and already hard

Boston cream pie

I think it's clever that they called this a Boston cream pie because it's definitely just a simple arrangement of Asian fluffy chiffon cake with two layers of whipped topping cream. It was just ok to me, nothing spectacular but I might go back for their traditional birthday cakes which might be more interesting to consume.

This bakery makes some of the best sponges cakes!! The sponges are always super fluffy, light and delicate. Even with the cream, the cakes are not too sweet and taste so fresh. I love their Boston cream pies too. Highly recommend the cakes here. They are also well priced! The 8" cake was $28. I would definitely come back to try their other bakery items; they look amazing as well.

The Boston cream pie and cakes here are delicious. They are sold at a reasonable price too. My favorite is the taro cake.

My son LOVES the strawberry cake with whipped cream and fruit! Traveled from NJ to get this cake for him for his birthday.

Ask the Community - Yeh's Bakery

Is the pineapple shortcake made fresh and high quality?

Personally one of the best I've ever had!

Do u have a sale on mooncakes?

Yes, but not cheap @ $8.50 each. However Mid-Autumn Festival was on September 10, so they may not have any left today September 11.

Is the green tea cake nut-free?

Yep! No nuts at all

Does the Boston cream pie have nuts?

No.

Do you guys sell Japanese cheesecakes?

No they don't have cheesecakes here

How much does their whole Boston cream pie cost now? What time do they open on Fridays?

I think it's 7 a.m. on Fridays. I believe it's $15 per pie.

Is their Boston Cream pie dairy free?

Not sure, but I highly doubt it cause it tastes like whipped cream between the cake's layers.

Shinpuru Baking - Cheese cake matcha ganache

Shinpuru Baking

Auburndale, Flushing

Stopped by again (was closed Wednesdays when I first visited) and finally got to try the goodies!…read moreAlthough I didn't have time to find parking for a stay - it's a small cute dessert shop with limited seats. I am a fan of the pandan flavor desserts and bought two that I wanted to try. One being a roll cake and the other layer cake. The pandan roll cake with taro I was told is a specialty that they only have on weekends. It was really flavorful, moist and spongy, just perfectly touched with a dash of sweetness in both the cake and the cream - I personally don't like overly sweet foods, and this is just perfect for me and my mom. I'm equally pleased with the layer cake as well it was very fresh and have that "QQ" texture - deliciously chewy and bouncy. This too, just hit right for me on the gentle sweetness, the pandan flavor keeping the spotlight in this dessert. My mom and I are big fans of these desserts. We just came back trying out others pandan layer cakes in Downtown Flushing and this shop beats them by a large margin. I hope to come back more when we could even though this shop is quite a distance for us.

Delicious baked goods with great attention to detail!!…read more I recently visited Shinpuru Baking and was extremely impressed. Everything I tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. The pastries and breads had a perfect texture, and you can tell a lot of care goes into every item. The staff was friendly and helpful, explaining the different options and making recommendations without being pushy. The bakery itself is clean and welcoming, making it a pleasant place to browse and enjoy treats. Overall, Shinpuru Baking delivers top-quality baked goods and excellent service. I'll definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves fresh, tasty pastries.
