Torotea definitely lives up the hype and reputation that they receive. I was able to find time to go to this location after driving by it many many times. I would hear wait times could get crazy on busy days. However, I came by during quick work break during a weekday and it wasn't packed at all. I tried their Gardenia Oolong Tea at a past Yelp event and wanted to see what the storefront had to offer. The staff here welcomes you immediately and offers up samples to try. The zesty oolong was a delicious sample. The location is very chill and relaxing. There are few seating and tables. Also commentary water. The staff here was very knowledgeable and answered the questions I had about the to go bottles of Gardenia tea. Apparently, they sell them for $8, but have limited supply sometimes. I ordered the Blossom Black Tea and it was ready in few minutes. First sip was impressive! Great balance of flavors. The first amount of sweet and just enough caffeine from the black tea to give me a pick me up. I'd order that one again. Toro Tea is a small bubble tea shop in the Diamond Bar area. We were heading to a wedding up north, so my wife found it on Yelp, and our friends who used to live in the area said it was really good, particularly their tea. I've had enough bubble tea to say that I couldn't really distinguish between good and great tease at this point. We ordered five of their drinks to try different options as you can't really add tapiochi to drinks that don't already come with it. We ordered ahead on the app (definitely do this) to save time, and the drinks were ready shortly after we arrived. There were already lots of people waiting inside and even more came as we were leaving. By the time we pulled out of the parking lot, there were people waiting outside as well! One sip of the tea and I agreed with my buddy's assessment. This IS next-level tea as the flavors were bold and really stood out. I'd ordered the Cassia tea not knowing what it was since it was one of the options with tapiochi, and it ended up not being a fav. Honestly, I love the drinks here, the viral popcorn milk tea is SO good. The shop itself is cute, cozy vibe, but seating is a little tight. My only real issue was the service. When we walked up, the three girls at the counter didn't say a word. I ended up being the only one to speak up and place our order. I get that it's a boba shop and maybe not much to say, but even a simple "hi" or "thank you" would've gone a long way. It kind of made me feel unwelcome. Creme brulee ice milk + brown sugar tapiochi - Hands down one of my favorites! Thick layer of creme brulee. Smooth milk tea. Stir the creme brulee into the milk tea... you'll get the next level milk tea drink! So very good!! 2. Popcorn milk tea with black tea tapiochi - This is my daughter's favorite. She loves it! 3. Came here for the first time with a friend in an afternoon on a Saturday and didn't realize there's a waitlist on Yelp... we just heard of this place and decided to simply google map it. Went here with the grandkids. I'm not a big boba drinker, but I let my granddaughters talk me into going one Sunday afternoon. There was a considerable line, so we checked in and came back an hour later, since we live close by. One granddaughter had the macha, one had the crème brûlée, and I had the popcorn milk tea. We all tasted each others teas, and I have to say the crème brûlée was my favorite. Popcorn was next, and Macha my least favorite. All of them were good tho This is not really a place you wanna sit down and hang out in, in my opinion. Seating is limited, so in my mind it's more of a "to go" establishment. Honestly, idk why i haven't reviewed torotea because I'm here every single weekend lol I think i was on a matcha craze when i stumbled upon the location on yelp. I've tried practically everything on the menu but their black teas since I'm more of a milk tea girl. I'm not a huge boba fan, so the jelly just hits different! It's not super sweet and it doesn't upset my stomach (hot girls have sensitive stomachs obviously lol) but man everything here is so good. Their cream tops are top tier, i usually get the Himalayan salt cloud top or their creme brûlée top. I will say the Bamboo milk tea is my favorite with them and so is their osmanthus refresher if you can't handle caffeine well like me. I don't think their matcha gets the craze it deserved because honestly it's top tier! All the jelly's are good so any option you get will be good. The location is small, so i highly recommend you order online if you're not trying to wait. Sometimes they have yelp check in as well so it helps. I will say the inside decorations have a very nice aesthetic feel to it, but this place gets super packed so come on a day you have time ! A unique boba shop that offers yummy drinks! I was with some family members and was told about this place was close by. One of them joined the yelp queue and we waited about 45 minutes. When it was our turn we headed down which was a very short drive thankfully. I wasn't expecting the store to be very small when we entered. They had some samples of an osmanthus drink which I tried. Wow wow wow. I went on here on a Sunday after church and there was a waitlist that was 51 deep. I couldn't believe it. I then decided to try it on a Wednesday morning right when it opened and I was able to walk right in. I can see how this place had the waitlist because it did not disappoint Cute little place with cute seating, but you're not gonna stay there as you'll probably take it to go as there is only probably a max seating of less than 10 comfortably. Super small inside. Everything sounded so good so I ended up getting four drinks! Each one of them was so good. The cashier was so helpful and patient as it is as it was my first time there. 5 stars for the tea jelly by itself. I'm huge on texture, and this was perfect! Definitely not your typical boba tea spot, unless you really like the slight bitterness from the pure flavors of the brewed tea. Their sweetness levels are "perfect" (recommended, intended this way) and there are some customizations, so if you do get "less" sugar, it'll mostly likely be barely any, which was fine with me as I loved the bitterness of the tea. Their default / perfect level of sweetness is great as well as all of it weren't too sweet. They specialize on popcorn milk tea. I tried it (thank you, bestie!), and it wasn't my thing so I was glad I didn't order a whole one for myself. I did appreciate the drink though as the flavors were there, but I'm not a popcorn fan in general. The popcorn milk tea contained brown sugar tapioca mochi, which was amazing. I absolutely love the toppings here. We also tried their Cassia milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi, and the black tea flavor was rather unique. I got their misty oolong with vanilla cloud and tea jelly / tapiochi. So good! I really wanted to try their matcha einspanner, but wasn't really in the mood for that at the time, but next time, I'll get that depending on the time of day and how I feel. I have since come back to try a couple of drinks since then - I really liked their Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea and yesterday when I came in they had samples of their Bamboo Jade Oolong Milk Tea out (which I think is seasonal if I read the sign correctly) and it's my new favorite drink! More herbal-y than the Jasmine and I just love Oolong in general - Torotea does an outstanding job, I've yet to find anything remotely close to their balance between milk and tea, and perfect sweetness really is perfect sweetness. Came by one night after dinner for a drink. When we arrived, there was actually a bit of a wait. In order for you to go in and order, you have to put you and your party on the waitlist. When it is your turn, they will let you know, then you get in line to order. It's actually the first drink place that I've gone to that uses this type of system. It was not a short wait either so it seems that Torotea is fairly popular. I decided to go for their popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca mochi. My husband got their roasted barley tea and my friend got their creme brulee iced milk with brown sugar tapioca. The popcorn milk tea was pretty aromatic. It smelled like popcorn and the taste was pretty light in flavor. There may be a hint of popcorn flavor in there as well so it wasn't extremely weird or anything. I couldn't really taste much of the tea in the drink. I felt like the milk just drowned it out. The brown sugar tapioca mochi was interesting -- they were square so they didn't go up the straw as easily as regular boba. The mochi's texture was good but flavor was also pretty light. My husband wasn't a huge fan of his drink cause the barley flavor was extremely subtle. We're used to regular barley tea that is typically served at Korean restaurants. My friend really enjoyed his creme brulee drink but if you do get it, be sure to mix it. Otherwise, it's just milk at the bottom. Overall, good quality but the tea flavors are a little too light for my preference. It may be their style, which is fine. Worth the hype! You can order online to skip the line (note: they charge an online ordering fee). I don't like paying extra fees so I opted to go in store and it wasn't that bad of a line around 7pm. Dalgona Latte 5/5: This drink is definitely on the sweeter side but that doesn't take away from their amazing tea flavor. I would highly recommend this drink to anyone looking for a fun twist on a classical milk tea. Crème Brûlée Milk 5/5: The jelly in here is their version of boba and it's chewy and sweet. Was introduced to Torotea earlier this year and was able to try many of their signature drinks. There's a waitlist when the shop gets a bit busier than usual which is great considering the interior is not too big. The waitlist is required when busy, otherwise you cannot get in line to order. Staff are wonderful and even professional to a certain degree, they have great recommendations and there's always free samples of a drink they're trying to promote. Unique from other drink establishments, they have taipoca mochi as a topping instead of the traditional boba pearls. A nice change of pace from the standard because the mochi is just perfect, it melts really nicely and it's super smooth in the terms of how it feels to sip. Popcorn brown sugar milk tea and many other drinks like their misty oolong and cassia black tea. You can't really go wrong with any drink here as their drinks are made differently. Cups are hand size and has nice covers caps for easy accessibility. One of the few shops that feel very gourmet when you receive your drink. This specific cafe has a nice corner where anyone can sit at and its a nice spot for a new photo taken. Their "to-go carrier" is also unique compare to other shops, using a paper-like strap instead of a box, bag, or cupholder is certainly a different look. While a nice design, it can easily be taken apart or easily spilled/fall if not taken care of, otherwise a nice, simple design. Torotea is a absolute must try when it comes to the quality of the tea. Never been to a boba place where you need to join a waitlist to get in haha. The place can get crazy busy on weekends. Interior is super cute with a nice woody seating area for those waiting for their drinks. Not too much space inside but the waitlist helps keep it from overcrowding. Torotea was so good that I went on Sunday and came back again on Saturday!! For those who don't know, instead of using boba, torotea has "mochi" cubes. I would say it has the flavor of boba but is less chewy and more bouncy. But you'll have to try it out for yourself to fully get what I mean! Before you visit, I recommend checking the Yelp waitlist. It has a time estimate and I would say the estimate is accurate. I would also send 1 or 2 people to get drinks for the whole group; not 100% sure but I think this might help you get to the front of the virtual queue faster. Once you're in on the Yelp waitlist, you'll get a text. This is the point when you can enter the inside line and order. It took about 30 minutes on the waitlist, 15 minutes to order, and another 10 to receive our order. The interior is very cute, very much modern Japanese design. There aren't many seats though so I would plan to take your drink somewhere else. I've tried the cassia milktea, misty oolong, and bamboo jade oolong. The less sweet is the perfect version for me. Of the three cassia is my favorite. My only complaint is that I wish there was a bit more tea flavor rather than milk. I am lactose intolerant but had no issues with this milk. My favorite "boba" shop at the moment. To start off, they don't sell tapioca pearls they have tapioca mochi which is a jelly that is delicious! The drinks themselves are brewed to perfection and are perfectly balanced in sweetness and tea flavor. The service was quick! I went right before rush and got my drink super fast. The shop had the cutest aesthetics and is quite cozy inside. There's some sitting spots inside to wait for your drink or chat with a friend. Torotea is currently one of my favorite boba spots at the moment. They opened up their San Marino location that I haven't tried yet. I'm hoping one day they can open up a location in the OC. The first drink I ever tried here was the popcorn milk tea. It was absolutely unique with its savory punch but a sweet finish. The tea here is tastes freshly brewed and is quality you can taste. When Torotea had first opened they had long wait times with a long Yelpwait. Nowadays it isn't too bad but they still have a steady stream of people coming in and out. I appreciate that as you enter they most of the time have drink samples available and ready for you to try, Everything from their tea to their toppings I enjoy. First timer! Heard great things about Torotea, but also heard that there was often a long wait, and during peak times you should join the wait list. Fortunately, I came on a Monday morning around 11am. Was surprised to see about a dozen customers there, which to me is an indication of how great this place is. The decor is simple & sleek, with few areas to sit; but not a place to work or study. The employee that helped me was friendly, took the time to explain the menu and made recommendations. I enjoyed their tea sample of the day, which was light and refreshing. I opted for the Cassia milk tea with brown sugar tapochi (tapioca mochi), tasted a lot like an iced latte as it had a subtle hint of coffee flavor...I'm obsessed! I kept hearing about this boba shop online and finally tried it with my friends! The location is in a small shopping plaza and it's a fairly small shop but you can see the aesthetics from the type of chairs they have to the minimal decorations. There was a bit of a lime but it went by so quickly and the staff was very friendly! I opted to try the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi and my boyfriend tried the ember milk tea with barely jelly. Absolutely loved the popcorn milk tea! It has a nuanced flavor that really suits the tapiochi. The tapiochi is their "boba" I suppose, which was very fresh and light and could have it all day. The ember milk tea was okay to me, I found there was just one base flavor and it was too sweet without any adjustments.
