Didn't even listen to what she had to say. We weren't ordering we were inquiring. And then when I was leaving I had a trash and asked if there was a trash can and he said no sorry we are closed. Trash bags are closed. Wtf is that ? I've never been spoken to that way in my whole life and I thought it was so rude. If your trash bag is closed you can reopen it or open a new damn trash bag. Torotea is a great boba shop in a small plaza here in diamond bar. We came here on a Wednesday afternoon so we did not have to use the Yelp Waitlist system today when we went. We ordered the Dalgona Cloud Top Latte and the Crème Brûlée Ice milk. They were both amazing but I would say these are moreso dessert drinks than an everyday beverage. Dalgona Latte 5/5: This drink is definitely on the sweeter side but that doesn't take away from their amazing tea flavor. I would highly recommend this drink to anyone looking for a fun twist on a classical milk tea. Crème Brûlée Milk 5/5: The jelly in here is their version of boba and it's chewy and sweet. This drink is a sweet milk with an egg tart like topping and a great non caffeinated option! Service/ Ambiance 5/5: The drinks always come out fast and aesthetically pleasing. They are definitely on the pricier side for boba but I would say they are definitely worth it! Overall 5/5: This is a great boba spot to visit if you are in the area. Was introduced to Torotea earlier this year and was able to try many of their signature drinks. There's a waitlist when the shop gets a bit busier than usual which is great considering the interior is not too big. The waitlist is required when busy, otherwise you cannot get in line to order. Staff are wonderful and even professional to a certain degree, they have great recommendations and there's always free samples of a drink they're trying to promote. Unique from other drink establishments, they have taipoca mochi as a topping instead of the traditional boba pearls. A nice change of pace from the standard because the mochi is just perfect, it melts really nicely and it's super smooth in the terms of how it feels to sip. Popcorn brown sugar milk tea and many other drinks like their misty oolong and cassia black tea. You can't really go wrong with any drink here as their drinks are made differently. Cups are hand size and has nice covers caps for easy accessibility. One of the few shops that feel very gourmet when you receive your drink. This specific cafe has a nice corner where anyone can sit at and its a nice spot for a new photo taken. Their "to-go carrier" is also unique compare to other shops, using a paper-like strap instead of a box, bag, or cupholder is certainly a different look. While a nice design, it can easily be taken apart or easily spilled/fall if not taken care of, otherwise a nice, simple design. Torotea is a absolute must try when it comes to the quality of the tea. Never been to a boba place where you need to join a waitlist to get in haha. The place can get crazy busy on weekends. Interior is super cute with a nice woody seating area for those waiting for their drinks. Not too much space inside but the waitlist helps keep it from overcrowding. Torotea was so good that I went on Sunday and came back again on Saturday!! For those who don't know, instead of using boba, torotea has "mochi" cubes. I would say it has the flavor of boba but is less chewy and more bouncy. But you'll have to try it out for yourself to fully get what I mean! Before you visit, I recommend checking the Yelp waitlist. It has a time estimate and I would say the estimate is accurate. I would also send 1 or 2 people to get drinks for the whole group; not 100% sure but I think this might help you get to the front of the virtual queue faster. Once you're in on the Yelp waitlist, you'll get a text. This is the point when you can enter the inside line and order. It took about 30 minutes on the waitlist, 15 minutes to order, and another 10 to receive our order. The interior is very cute, very much modern Japanese design. There aren't many seats though so I would plan to take your drink somewhere else. I've tried the cassia milktea, misty oolong, and bamboo jade oolong. The less sweet is the perfect version for me. Of the three cassia is my favorite. My only complaint is that I wish there was a bit more tea flavor rather than milk. I am lactose intolerant but had no issues with this milk. Finally got to visit Torotea, hooray! We used the waitlist function and it was a pretty fast wait. We went on a Sunday morning around 11:30. The shop had the cutest aesthetics and is quite cozy inside. There's some sitting spots inside to wait for your drink or chat with a friend. We got the Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi™ (Tapioca Mochi) and Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly. I really liked the Popcorn Milk Tea and would 100% get it again. The line wasn't crazy but still took about half hour from the time we got in line and when we got our order. There's an option to get on the waitlist but not sure how much it helps. Drinks are high quality and sweetness level is on the less sweet side for its standard sweetness. If you have a sweet tooth, you will need to adjust for higher sugar level. I was the second group on the waitlist and was called in within 5 minutes. Their tea remains one of my favorites from any boba shop and the quality control is great. I had my mind set on ordering the cassia milk tea this visit but they started offering samples of the misty oolong pure tea and my mind was changed. I've tried the misty oolong milk tea before, which I loved, so I changed it up by ordering the pure tea with Himalayan sea salt cloud. The cream top was not my favorite but the tea was pure bliss when I ordered it less sweet. I also sampled some of the ember milk tea, which had a robust nutty taste. Their most popular drink, the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi, also had a nutty undertone. However, it's reminiscent of buttery caramel, similar to that of kettlecorn, hence the name "popcorn" milk tea. I highly recommend visiting at an off-time because I've heard of many stories where the wait is insanely long. Highly recommend the koan-im milk tea!!! It has such an interesting taste to it. Popcorn milk tea is pretty good too, but I would definitely choose koan-im if you're a tea person. The place is so aesthetically pleasing, but it is pretty small and it's an in and out type of place, not good for sitting down and chatting. The employees are very nice. I love their drinks. It is really, really good. I would love to try all other options on the menu again if I can. But! The biggest downside of Torotea is its location. It is far from where I live. Here's a thing, though. If it is just far, I understand. If the food or drinks are really, really good to my liking, I will sacrifice the long drive to go there even if it is far, only if it is close to the freeway exit. Torotea is situated in, like, the middle of a residential area by a school, and so even after I exit the freeway, I have to drive miles and miles to get there. That is a big no-no for me. I wish they had considered another location to open, but this could only apply to me. I had the Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly, and it was sooooo good. I love the roasted, nutty flavor from the jelly as well as the milk tea itself. I personally love this kind of flavor, and I look for it whenever I am out and about. I also got my friend a Roasted Barley Iced Tea with a little sweetener as he preferred, and he enjoyed it as well. The line was pretty long, and I did have to wait about 15 minutes to order and another 15 minutes to get the drinks, so if you are in a hurry, it's not the best option for you. Can't believe I haven't written a review about this place! This is a pretty good boba place in diamond bar! Torotea is known for their strong, quality teas and their drinks are unique! Now I don't know it I should call this place a boba spot since they don't actually sell the boba tapioca balls, instead they have tapiochi (like boba mochi) which I find really good! This mochi is still soft the next morning after refrigeration! I like their popcorn milk tea which is an Assam milk tea with popcorn syrup! The flavor of the popcorn is subtle and the brown sugar tapiochi pairs nicely with it. I've also had the misty oolong and the manor milk tea which is also great drink options. Overall would recommend this shop, the quality is great! They also have a yelp waitlist option so you don't have to queue outside for this place anymore! read more
