Everything I asked for was unavailable. We should've left but didn't find anything better in the area, so we stayed. Worst idea ever because the bartender tried to get creative with what they had in stock and "customize" the drinks for us. Yeah, the drinks were horrendous. I will not come back nor will I recommend this place to anyone visiting Denver.

The space has a cool, slightly mysterious vibe with some Tulum inspiration from the owners' love of Mexico, but the menu also reflects their Eastern European background. It's an interesting mix that somehow works really well. The cocktails were excellent. Everything we tried was well balanced and thoughtfully made. We also ordered a few small bites and they hit the spot. One thing we didn't expect to find there is that they also have an escape room connected to the lounge, which makes the whole place even more unique. Definitely a fun and different spot in the Santa Fe area. I'm looking forward to going back and trying the escape room next time.

This visit was all about the cocktails, and Seven Grand absolutely delivered. Josh, our bartender, was running the room like a conductor leading an orchestra of happy whiskey drinkers. He asked what we liked, made a couple of recommendations for Old Fashioneds based on our preferences, and absolutely nailed it. Every drink was balanced, flavorful, and dangerously easy to sip. The guy knows his whiskey, knows his cocktails, and somehow still manages to make everyone at the bar feel like they're his only customer. The whiskey selection is enough to make a bourbon nerd lose all sense of financial responsibility, but surprisingly, we escaped without needing to refinance the house. If Josh doesn't own Seven Grand, someone should probably look into fixing that. Recently opened, it hasn't been discovered to where you can't get reservations or a spot at the bar. Place starts filling around 8ish and the club atmosphere kicks in around 1030pm. Staff is attentive without being overly helicopter as you dine or drink. Incredible drink selections are amazing with a nice selection of rum. Had the melo cocktail which features avua cachaca, a rum but sure tasted like the strongest tequila fun decision of the night. Babe had the Zona Rosa which is basically a fruit salad with tequila and rum. We ordered the ceviche de chicharrone that has such great flavors with crispy pork belly. Nothing left but a scraped up bowl. Suggest also the empanadas because you can't come here and not taste a staple item. The carne asada is amazing and basically a large slab of nicely grilled meat. LOVE IT!!!! Babe had the hamburguesa paisa which also is a nice slab of beef with bacon topped with pineapple salsa. I wish I could have had room for dessert but my slinky dress didn't cooperate. Next time... I have my eyes on the panna cotta de cafe and cheesecake guava. Looking forward to a return visit with friends. When I calmly asked why we were being refused, instead of receiving an explanation, I was threatened with pepper spray by staff/security. As someone who is used to dealing with high stress situations, I found the interaction especially concerning because this situation never warranted that kind of response. There was no professionalism, no clear communication, and no effort to de-escalate the situation. If you're looking for a place that treats customers with respect and communicates professionally, this was not my experience. Based on how we were treated, I cannot recommend MDE Lounge.
