Love the consistent, delicious food that Topo serves. If your not a fan of hot food I would skip the hot sauce in your burrito. They only accept card NO CASH, so be prepared. Topo was fantastic. Went in the afternoon on a Thursday for my first time. The service was great everyone was happy and talkative. They answered my questions, explained the food choices, and made some recommendations. I got the pork Topo loco and wow it was way better then expected. I was a little nervous at first with all the stuff inside it but the balance between all of the ingredients really works out well. I also got a side of the elote, that stuff is dynamite. This is definitely a great place for a casual quick bite downtown. Don't be intimidated by the lines, it moves pretty fast. The menu is simple and to the point. The burritos are huge. Took a bike ride to downtown Gilbert. Decided to finally try Topo. Ordered the burrito , the girl taking the order was very miserable , didn't say a word. Took the payment I said " thank you" probably 3x and she didn't even respond to me. Not once . Waited for burrito , ask for napkin, same girl.... was given 1. Said " thank you" again. And again no response. Bad day? Who knows . Needed more napkins, went back up to ask, amd yet again " thank you" completely ignored as if I was invisible. Was walking down this downtown area in Gilbert yesterday. It's my last name so I wanted to check it out. Saw this little pop up shop & wanted to check it out. The girls working the stand/store were so nice; they answered my questions. The ice cream is so good; they have "dips" and literally dip your ice cream in a hardening flavored sauce...so good!! The burritos here are ridiculously good just beware the hot sauce unless you have an iron stomach. The soft serve is also excellent. I was a little unsure about the lime dip as lime flavored toppings usually taste like furniture polish but their's taste like fresh lime. I am now a convert. I couldn't stop eating it! read more

This simple menu and simple setup including the delicious and well made items make it the perfect stop for a satisfying and complete meal(it's the dessert that helps make it complete;) I love the chicken burrito and all that it contains- crunchy chips, creamy beans, spicy and tangy hot sauce, and cooling crema with tender spiced shredded chicken. Prickly pear ice cream to finish off the meal is such a deliciously not overly sweet soft serve with an option of chocolate or prickly pear dip (I definitely prefer chocolate since I feel prickly pear dip is too sweet due to the white chocolate base it's made from). Taking the first bite, the taste of smoked pork hit me like a truck. I wasn't expecting it. I realized that they probably use the same pulled pork as next door. That sweet and nutty wood-smoked pork flavor sang through the burrito and turned it from average to very good. The refried beans, corn and mayo sauce were fine. The Fritos were a nice addition, but there were so many wet ingredients in the burrito that even it immediately you will likely find that the chips are already soggy and not crispy. I also got the twist vanilla and prickly pear cone dipped in lime. The soft serve was fine, but the dipped coating was great. It did not taste or feel waxy at all. Value: for $8 you get a heavy filling smoked-pork burrito. And there is no mandatory tip. To me, that's a great deal for downtown. Service/experience: this may have been my favorite part. The stand was manned with just three workers the last night. But the best part was watching how slowly they worked. On a scale of 1(no service) to 10(in-n-out speed), these guys were a solid 3. It wasn't that they were goofing off, but they moved so slowly. It was like watching sloths at the DMV in zootopia. I timed it and it took a worker about 5-6 seconds on average to scoop a spoonful of corn into a small bowl. Otherwise, the employees were friendly and were eager to take the orders and were very helpful. And I will say that with the slow and methodical approach all of their food looked identical based on portion size and plating. Tips: *check the line and if the end of it is by Joe's real BBQ's entrance, that's about an hour wait. *you can order food and soft serve at the same time and ask to redeem the dessert after you eat your meal. Im sorry to leave a negative review but I ordered the pork burrito and it just wasn't very good. My food came out very quick, but it wasn't hot like it had just came off the stove. Honestly the food was just room temperature. It didn't look very appealing but I thought it was maybe because I ordered the burrito with no tortilla so it was just a bowl of my food. I took a few bites and threw the rest out because I wasn't satisfied with the taste of my food. It reminded me of Chipotle. When I got home I started feeling nauseous. I was sick for the rest of the day. I hadn't ate anything else, so I believe my lunch is what caused me to be ill. read more

We went there for the prickly pear ice cream, but the machine was broken! We ended up getting vanilla ice cream with prickly pear dip which pretty much tasted like white chocolate dip. What an awesome find! We have always like Joe's Real BBQ, and this new addition to their like is THE BOMB! I tried the Topo Loco burrito, and even though I knew what it was filled with, it was a surprise at every bite. The fritos and corn in the burrito make it a delicious, scrumptious addition. The portion is big enough to make you feel satisfied. I had the Topo mineral water to save calories for the dessert, which was a soft serve of Prickly Pear ice cream with Lime topping. That was not only refreshing on that warm day, but it was also delightful and flavourful. The cone was so perfect that it looked unreal, but I had to eat it and it was very pleasing to my taste buds. Tried Topo just now! No cash accepted! That's a tad irritating! Elote' very small, cilantro flavor overpowers everything! It's not in my Top 10 list of Elote' for sure! Prickly pear soft serve ice cream...winner per my Granddaughter! Curious why the no cash policy? Trust issues with employees? It will have a negative effect to staff for tips! Already spoke to several people who did not tip because of this strange policy! We ordered a chicken Topo Loco and was too spicy. Barely had any chicken in the burrito. It tastes more like a bean burrito with Fritos and cheese. Holy h*'ll! Delish! We tried the pork Topo Loco and it was to die for. Kind of spicy for those who are sensitive to that bit I LOVE spicy food so that was a pleasant surprise. I've never been a fan of the corn before with everything on it but when I saw it was already cut off the cob and in a bowl, I had to try it! I absolutely loved it! If you come to downtown Gilbert the prickly pear soft serve is a must! You can have it dipped in cholcolate or lime. Or you can just have it by itself.
