I visited here recently and had another wonderful experience. I previously visited with my niece and we were delighted to find this yummy sulbing location in the heart of Gilbert. Some of the places that offer this don't get the formula quite right of the mix for the snow. I think it might depend on the kind of milk and water ratio, but this place is on point. The snow is light and airy and has a good mouth feel. It melts well without giving one a cold freeze headache. Previously when I have visited, I ordered the strawberry but this most recent time I had the mango. My friend had the very very flavor. Delicious!!! Frostails has a couple of tables and benches and a couple or stools. It is a small dessert shop but very clean and absolutely delicious. It was my first time trying bingsu and I highly recommend it. It such fine snow that melts in your mouth and topped with high quality syrup/puree and fruit. The guy working there is really great at walking you through the ordering process if you're unfamiliar and explains how to eat it. While I didn't get any bingsu myself, I stole a couple of bites from my friends' ube bingsu and some strawberry matcha bingsu as well. So fluffy and oh so good! This is the kind of dessert that would satisfy immensely on a warm Arizona evening (and we have plenty of those). The owner was really nice. He made an off the menu flavor for me but only because our lovely CM was there! I ordered an ube bingsoo topped with chocolate sauce. It was good but could use a bit more ube flavoring. I really appreciated him doing that for me. I tried some of the matcha strawberry bingsoo and that was delicious! I've had this location bookmarked for a while now and I finally made it in last week. I brought my sister and mom along and we had a great time. We were quickly greeted and welcomed as we walked on in. The inside is spacious, clean, and there are a few tables and chairs set up. The owner gave us the 411 and explained to us all the flavors, toppings, and types of bases you can pick from. You can build your own or pick from the menu and we picked a mango one from the menu. We looked around while we waited and bought some apple juice, chips, and a fluffy cheesecake from the fridge. The Bingsu was delicious and I was immediately taken back to when I first tried it in Korea. It tasted very authentic and not artificial. The yogurt base was delicious as it was very creamy and flavorful, ugh it was a mango heaven.. There was another family that walked in while we ate and they also ordered and sat down. The owner was very nice and he came around and gave us all some mini pies to take home. We ended up eating the fluffy cheesecake at home and MMMMMMM it was delicious! This is my second time coming here because it's far from me, but I LOVE their lattes! They have various milks imported from Korea (from what I remember the owner telling me) including black sesame milk! I was really excited to check out Frostails, made the long drive from Phoenix, but the experience was pretty disappointing. The worker wasn't welcoming at all- when we mentioned it was our first time, there was no enthusiasm or sense that he wanted us there. It felt a bit cold and uninviting. When we did ask questions, we were met with one-word answers, almost like we were bothering him, which made the whole interaction uncomfortable. As for the dessert, it was just okay- nothing to write home about. Honestly, I can get something similar (if not better) at my local Water & Ice spot or HMart for a much cheaper. After a group dinner on a cold evening I didn't want anything cold but Frostials had a few hot drink options specifically Yuja Cha (citron tea) which is a citron jelly and hot water. The benefits of this tea is rich in antioxidants for anti- aging (which is a yes for me ), full of vitamin c, enhances skin complexion, increases blood circulation, good for sore throat and cough, and good for treating common cold. So if you see someone sick with a cold treat them to this yuja cha!! I was warm and comforting for my body and I love a taste of the citrus family. First off, let me tell you how nice it is to walk into a business and have the owner take the time to explain everything to you, I've had Korean dessert before but you know usually nobody ever explains the difference in flavors or how to build your order etc... The fact that he puts fruit and syrup at the bottom did it for me! Usually its only in the middle and on the top, but when you get to the bottom its just ice.... I ordered their strawberry with condensed milk and it was delicious!! Im sad I havent been here before since I live across the street. It's so nice to have a Korean Shaved Ice place added to the valley! The store was so clean and spotless. The shaved ice machines and syrups are all from Korea. I ordered the Mango Bingsu which has a yogurt base and it was delicious. I can also tell myself it's more healthy since I picked yogurt. The yogurt is mixed in with the shaved iced and the fruits were on top. The yogurt isn't like your typical yogurt you get at a grocery store. It's creamier and tastes more like a dessert. What a gem! Do yourself a favor and check this place out, but please, take a moment to experience and appreciate the culture. No, this is not a Sno-Cone! It was quiet when I came in as it was still around dinner time. The place is spotless, clean lines (industrial but inviting), neat and organized! Love the bar stool seats and the picnic tables. Since it was quiet, I got to talk to the owner Albert and ask all about the bingsu, how it's made, and the tradition behind it. I ordered the most popular Mango bingsu to bring home to the hubby and after talking with Albert I ordered the OG. If you want to actually experience a traditional Korean bingsu, order this (not on the menu). The shaved ice is completely different from what I expected (I pictured the piragua I grew up with). It comes out in a bowl and looks like fresh snow. It's a bowl of snowflakes with the toppings in the center (and throughout the bowl). I took a few bites of the mango one while in the shop and it just melted in my mouth. The hubby really enjoyed it and said the fruit was ripe and fresh and the syrup is thicker and sweet but not overpowering. I took my order home so I didn't get to experience the fresh pow, but it was easy to crack into and start eating. It was a great blend of savory with sweet, and I get a bonus to have some protein for dessert! This OG has rice cake bits (made fresh in-house), red beans, and condensed milk. Now, this will not be for everyone, so it's up to you if you want to experience the culture and branch out to try it, but I recommend you do. I enjoyed it and the hubby even kept asking if he could have more of mine (even though he was skeptical when I first told him what was in it)!! Came to our Yelp Elute event here after work today and am glad I did! This is a new and inviting local business in Gilbert. Located in an all brand new shopping and dining area off Recker Rd & Williams Field Rd. The gentleman who owns this place is very nice and welcoming. He was telling me all about Bingsu and I got to watch him make mine for me. Being I have citrus allergies, we chose strawberry. It was SO DELICIOUS! A very healthy alternative as well! Also, you can buy Korean snacks, teas, & treats here. The restaurant is very clean, well stocked & organized. I was very impressed with this place and will definitely come here again!
