We came here for a quick lunch on a Sunday. Was not busy at all, but the wait was quite long considering. We sat on the patio which was nice as it is dog friendly and were able to bring our dog. The fries are really good. Would come back just for those. I had the Ultimate Chicken Sandwich. The chicken was juicy but the sandwich overall was bland. I am pleasantly surprised by Big Chicken! Was craving lunch and this place was under a mile from my rental. YUM! I got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with a side of fries. I would say the chicken sandwich was a 7/10, it was super crispy but needed a bit more sauce. The fries were excellently crisp, like an upscale Culver's fry. We finally made it in here after the kids having asked to go since they saw it open. It is in a great location in downtown Gilbert with ample parking close by. We went about an hour before closing time and the place was quite empty and very few employees. They were friendly, but very slow. We ordered several meals and two beers. They had decent draft options. The beer took a very long time due to the lack of staff, but we eventually got it. The food came out piping hot and was pretty good. A lot of their sauces were running low or out, but I imagine they are better stocked normally. It did take a while before we were able to eat the food since it was so hot, which my husband and I didn't mind as we drank our beers, but it was tough getting the kids to wait haha. I was at a community event that was close to this location, which was great because I have been wanting to try the spot just because of Shaq and he thinks he knows chicken so well. Went in the place was pretty empty. It was an odd day and an odd time it was a Wednesday evening. Nevertheless, I ordered buffalo chicken and barbecue chicken bites. I ordered some chicken tender strips, french fries and mac & cheese just to get a variety of things and check out the sauces. The buffalo boneless chicken bites were the best with a close second on the chicken strips now I didn't taste all of the sauces, but my daughter says that the BC sauce was extremely good. The mac & cheese was one of their signature dishes. It was good, but it was much too cheesy for me personally. Overall, I think that the chicken was very good and I would return if I wanted a nice buffalo boneless and I'm in that area. Like I said it wasn't anyone in the place, but me and my daughter, but the set up was very nice. They had a bar TVs all over to watch the games and the seating was pretty comfortable. The only time we have been to Big Chicken was on a cruise ship and we wanted to check out a standalone location. The staff was very helpful and the menu offered a decent variety of options for a chicken place. I liked the sauce bar and the way it allowed you to try a number of different flavors similar to a traditional BBQ joint. The sandwiches were all very good and the chicken was cooked perfectly without too much grease. The dining area wasn't huge, but the location was great on the main strip and there were plenty of televisions to watch sports. The flavor of the food surprised us all and we were pleasantly surprised as it was much fresher than our prior experience on the cruise. We ordered from a variety of chicken sandwiches (there is only chicken) and one chicken salad, pils some "dirty" fries and sweet potatoes waffle fries. Easy menu to order from, and the folks taking our order was nice and made some suggestions and food came out fast. It was ALL delicious! The chicken on the sandwiches was large, moist and flavorful. The sweet potato waffle fries were probably some of the best I've ever had. My spicy Kenny the jet chicken sandwich with jalapeno slaw and fried pickles was really good, it did have a bite, but not too bad. We had someone come out from the kitchen and asked how we liked the food. Interestingly though, we were there for about an hour enjoying our meal and no one else ever came in, but all the other restaurants seemed pretty busy. This place was a huge let down. I was SO excited to try this place out after hearing people brag about how good it was... but then I left upset... We let a few weeks pass by after the grand opening and we let the hype die down before we even considered stopping by. We finally visited on a weeknight and the line wasn't too bad. I opted for one of their most popular selling sandwiches which was the crispy chicken grilled cheese and my sister had the uncle Jerome (Nashville hot). We also got a side of fries, one mac and cheese, and two large drinks. One sweet tea and one lemonade. The food didn't take long for it to come out. The presentation looked promising and everything did look delicious. I was excited to try out the mac and cheese so I opted to try that first. The mac and cheese was cold on the outside and inside was a tad bit warm. So disappointing. It was very basic and I can honestly say that frozen mac and cheese from the grocery store tastes better. Next were the fries. The fries were also disappointing. They were very soggy and flavorless oh and cold.. Next was the sandwich. The sandwich was actually hot (temperature wise) but not my fave. It has a weird sweet kick to it which is a no for me. The chicken was also very dry and the breading had no flavor. The Nashville hot sandwich was also sweet and a definite no. It was more sweet than actual hot. They both had weird tastes and just thinking about it makes my stomach hurt. The only thing I liked was the sweet tea.
