I saw the reviews and the pictures and decided to give Chicken Hug a try. Sometimes it's hard to find a place with good chicken that isn't dry. Here, they did not dissapont! We ordered 1/2 spicy chicken, and 1/2 garlic and basil meal. It comes with a huge portion perfectly cooked and seasoned rice and, a portion of ok fries. The chicken is very juicy and tender! Full of flavor! The only drawback is the salt amount. We aren't shy on seasoning, but this was borderline. The service was excellent! The man behind the counter was friendly, helpfull, and more than patient dealing with new customers! Very small sitting area, but clean and neat. I highly recommend this place, if you aren't afraid of seasoning.

I knew I would like this place when I opened my car door in the parking lot and smelled the deliciousness in the air. It is a middle eastern place, specifically serving the food of Jordan. This place is not fancy. It's kind of a strip mall place with the walls and ceiling painted black and little chicken pictures and signs in the wall. You order at the counter and your food will come out in a Styrofoam box. You can see the food being cooked, which I always like. We ordered the half chicken meal, which comes with a choice of rice, fries, it veggies--we chose the rice. We chose the spicy sauce for the half chicken meal. We also ordered the chicken wrap meal with the garlic basil sauce, which comes with fries and a drink. I reserved this for very special food, but I will say my chicken with the spicy sauce was f*****g fantastic!!! Soooo f*****g good! The rice was also delicious, and there was a ton of it. The cole slaw tasted super fresh and crunchy. The wrap was grilled and the chicken was so good. I cannot say enough great things about the food here. It's so delicious and I might actually have dreams about it at night.

ChickenHug Meal with 1/2 Chicken, French Fries, Corn on the Cob, Potatoes and Rice

Chickenhug Chickenhug Meal - Half Chicken with rice, french fries and veggies. Halal Mediterranean style Chicken is very tasty, we shared the 1/2 chicken meal and was plenty for the both of us. Good portion of rice which h is yummy, red potatoes and sweet potatoes along with very good tasting French Fries. Came along with a tortilla size pita and 3 dipping sauces which one was the yogurt, a spicy salsa and ranch? Restaurant is small and could drive by it if you are not paying attention or using GPS, look out for the rooster statue in front of the shop and that will lead you to the front door. Nice thing going on here, support local business

Spicy half chicken with rice. Husband says it's not very spicy. They will let you sample the sauce.

Updated to add photos. We love this place and probably will go weekly. The owner already knows us! The chicken (we get the original) is so tender and flavorful and the sides are generous portions. The only thing that didn't impress me is the bread. It's fresh and made onsite. But it has no flavor. But it's really an afterthought anyway. The owner is warm and friendly and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. Check it out!

I was referred by my Lebanese friend Jack, he said just try, you love it. I tried, my wife tried, We Love it! The chicken so moist and juicy with a crisp flavored skin that makes your mouth beg for more! The Roasted whole onion couldn't be sweeter if you tried, the rice, light moist fluffy with just enough saffron to give you a taste of Heaven. Crisp crinkle fries, with side of mint yogurt and coleslaw. The light and fresh pita to help wrap it all up, just excellent! They have a selection of lebanese carbonated drinks to give you that touch of Lebanese flavor, thank you Habibi ! Don't pass on this place, its going to be IYKYK fast!

Searching for new place to eat I find this place. What an interesting location, you would have to know this place exist considering it's next to a transmission shop office. Don't make same mistake I did and walk into the transmission office. .. New restaurant so of course it was nice and clean, with friendly staff. Decided to order the chickenhug half chicken meal. I asked the difference between half chicken meal vs chickenhug meal and he said chickenhug comes with all the side dishes. So I said why not. Initially I thought to myself, hmm almost $20 for half chicken meal little on the steep side.. But nooooo how much food you get for that price, actually pretty darn good price point. You could feed 2 people with all the food that came with the order. Guy who took my order was nice enough and offered me free drink on the house, so I got me some Mexican coke.. That was nice of him. OK so I get my food and he said potato weren't quite done and asked me if I wanted to wait for it while I'm eating so I said yes. Open the container and I'm greeted with steamy hot chicken with nice soft and chewy pita bread on top of the chicken. I forgot what kind of pita bread he told me but it was thin and nice and chewy. Surrounding the chicken it was filled with corn, onion, French fries. All that on top of rice.. Side plate came with yogurt sauce, garlic spice sauce and coleslaw. Chicken was pretty interesting, I opted for spicy, and it was not spicy but it had pretty good flavor. Chicken was fall off the bone, moist, and juicy. Probably one of the best roasted chicken I tasted. Corn was sweet, French fries was pretty good with seasoning. But the darn rice, yummy and flavorful. I ripped up some meat made little taco with pita, added some onion, and dipped it in the yogurt sauce and also spicy garlic sauce. Yogurt sauce was nice and refreshing but my favorite was the spicy garlic. I could not finish the food and he asked me if I want the potato to go and I had to decline.. Since I was beyond stuffed. Asked the guy who took my order what country the dishes come from and he said Jordan. I was pretty happy considering I never had Jordanian food. This place was really 4 and half start but with such a friendly staff and tasting the love and care they put into the food I gave it a 5. I also love the small menu... Your choice... Chicken and side dishes.. I would definitely come back here again.

If you love roasted chicken and rice, you've got to check out Chickenuhug. They recently opened in Tempe and have already become a community favorite -- and now I understand why! A few days ago a friend brought me in. I was not too hungry because I just had eaten dinner but wanted to check the place out. Let's say I forced myself to eat and can't wait to go on an empty belly. They offer several flavor options including original, spicy, garlic basil, and smoked BBQ. I ordered mine plain with sauce on the side which is the original and paired it with rice. You can also choose fries or veggies as your side. The meal comes with a delicious garlic dip (toom), a spicy sauce, and coleslaw. Then a new sauce that was garlic/herb. That is now my new favorite sauce. The chicken was incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. You don't need sauce. It honestly felt like enjoying a home-cooked roasted chicken meal from a Middle Eastern kitchen. Portions are very generous and the prices are fair for how much food you get. We got the half chicken meal was $19.99 and definitely worth it. We even got an extra one to go. Which I munched on it the very next day and it was still savory. The vibe is cool. It's a small venue inside but seating both indoors and out. The staff is super hype with lots of personality they will help you order. I'm loving the service.

I seen this place on Instagram and the food looked amazing! I'm a sucker for middle Eastern food and I find myself cooking a lot of it at home. I needed a break; so I came here to try a a place I never tried before. When we pulled into the parking lot, I didn't know where to park or whether I could park there because the whole parking lot looked like it belonged to an auto mechanics shop. I just parked in an available spot and wished for the best. The restaurant is located on the street side. It isn't very big, but appeared very clean. The main menu item is chicken hence the restaurant name, Chickenhug! We decided to order their Chicken Hug meal, which included an original half grilled chicken, basmati rice, fries, Cole slaw, sweet potato, regular potato, pita bread, and garlic sauce! The meal came out piping hot. The chicken was steaming! The three rice blend was very flavorful and delicious! The potatoes were good as well as the Cole slaw. I didn't get why the fries were there. There were already potatoes and very good potatoes at that. Now the chicken which was supposed to be the star was nothing to brag about. Don't get me wrong; it wasn't bad! I was really expecting more; especially more middle Eastern or Jordanian flavors. It just tasted like bland grilled chicken. Maybe I should try one of the other chicken next time such as the garlic basil , spicy, or smoked BBQ! I don't know. We'll see!

You'll have to try Chickenhug if you love chicken and rice or love roasted chicken. They opened up recently in Tempe and they have already become popular in the community. They have multiple flavors. We tried the original and chose rice with it. They have spicy, garlic basil and smoked bbq. You can choose fries, rice or veggies to go with the chicken. It is served with a delicious garlic sauce/dip (toom) and a spicy sauce as well as coleslaw. The chicken is so tender and juicy, it is delicious. The garlic sauce and chili sauce pair so well with the original chicken, it's simply amazing. It's like eating roasted chicken with rice at a Middle Eastern home. The portions are super generous and the prices are reasonable. The full chicken meal is $28.99. We've tried it twice already, once for takeout and the second time was at the restaurant. Their service is fantastic and very welcoming. The place is a little small and it was very busy on a Friday night, so we sat outside. You should definitely give them a try!

I heard about this new chicken spot that opened recently in Tempe. So I decided to check it out. Placed a to-go order with Ross, who was friendly, gave good recommendations, had great energy/vibe & customer service was FIRST CLASS!!! This chicken was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! It was so tender, juicy, moist, full of flavor & falling off the bones. It literally melted in my mouth & so good you could eat the bones. Their chicken is Halal & the menu is simple. It comes with coleslaw & 2 dipping sauces as well as a flat bread, your choice of veggies or rice, both are delicious & a generous portion & a choice of 4 flavors of chicken...original(my choice) spicy (my choice) smoked Bar B Q or garlic basil and ask for a side of the mint yogurt sauce it's to die for :) There's indoor seating, nice decor with TV's but no patio or outside seating. Parking was good & it was easy to find. This food would be great for catering also which I think they do. Definitely kid friendly & a great place for groups, family or quick business lunch. I AM looking forward to trying the garlic basil & Bar B Q chicken on my next visit.Oh & btw...they have desserts but ask about the chocolate pistachio bar.Absolutely addicting :) You will definitely enjoy yourself @Chickenhug.Tell Ross I said Hello

This place was pretty good, there's parking on both sides of the building. If it's during operating hours of the transmission shop, you'll want to park on the west side of the building. The line was pretty long inside, but mainly because people didn't know what of the 5 items to get. I got the original half chicken meal with rice. The chicken was very juicy and tender, I'm talking fall off the bone tender, which is great, except the bones were also falling apart. If you have little ones, be sure to pull the bones out for them! I also got 2 "freez" drinks. And they tasted really good! I believe this place is halal as well! They had these mini cakes for dessert, so I got vanilla banana cream I believe it was. The food wasn't bad and I reheated my food the next day and it was still bomb! The gentleman taking your orders was very polite and respectful!

Wow, it did not disappoint--this place is legit delicious! I went with the Swiss & Shroom MeltBurger (mushroom burger) and customized it by swapping the Swiss for pepper jack cheese, adding ranch, and drizzling on that spicy buffalo sauce. Holy cow, it was a home run! The burger literally melted in my mouth, super juicy and packed with flavor--one of the juiciest burgers I've ever had. The angus-wagyu blend shines through, and the toppings took it to another level. The ordering process was super simple and modern--I loved the big touchscreen kiosks that made customizing easy and quick. No hassle at all. They have some unique soda flavors I've never tried before, which was a fun surprise and paired perfectly with the meal. Bonus points: the bathrooms were spotless and well-maintained, which always matters to me. This jumps straight to my #2 burger spot overall (Shake Shack is still king in my book, but The Melt is giving it a serious run for its money with that melty, juicy goodness). I'll definitely be back soon--highly recommend checking this place out if you're in Tempe. You won't regret it! 5 stars all the way.

I didn't think anything about it when 10 minutes had passed, but once it was 20 minutes I decided to ask one of the workers how much longer it would be for my order and that's when they finally decided to inform us they were working on a catering order. I work in the food service industry so I was a little confused as to why that's not something they would disclose at the beginning of us ordering, especially if they knew it was a large order. They told us it would only be 5-10 more minutes though... and then that became 20 extra minutes of us waiting. The customer before me also ended up waiting 40 minutes for just 3 tenders. I feel like they should've offered us a free drink or something after seeing us in the lobby waiting for half an hour. And it didn't help that the 3 people on expo were just talking and fooling around. They had also looked irritated when we had gone up after that half hour to ask about our order. While I love the food, I don't know if I'll go back. TLDR: Food is great. Service not so much.

Plus, it's one of the few fast food chains that has their process for consistency and quality locked in. Every time I eat Cane's it's exactly as I expect it to be. Crunchy fried chicken strips that are juicy, nicely fried crinkle cut fries, Texas toast that I could easily eat 3 of (but don't), a little side of cole slaw and the famous Cane's sauce.
