The food was very tasty with a sprinkle of spices. The food was delicious. A very small place with 5 tables that seats 4. It is mostly a take out place. The service was great with explanations of each dish. The place was very clean. I would highly recommend this place. It is in the Lenny's strip mall.

I've always wanted to explore more Peruvian food. Located in the former taco chiwas space near the NW corner of Alma School and Warner is this casual, family run eatery. Their specialty is their "authentic" rotisserie Peruvian chicken. I honestly wouldn't know how genuine their food is but I do know it is tasty! On this visit last month, we ordered camarones saltados $20 and a can of Inca Kola $3. After a short wait, the food was ready at the pick up counter. Seasoned shrimps, tomatoes and onions cooked in a fiery wok served along steamed rice and french fries was fresh and flavorful. The Inca cola, a fun soda with a bubblegum flavor was a refreshing change. Cream soda varieties come to mind when I had my first sip. They also sell dry Peruvian grocery goods and sodas to take home. I need to go back and try their "authentic chicken" and dive deeper into Peru's food scene.

Delicious Peruvian food! My husband and I love Peruvian food so when we heard about this place opening up near our house we knew we had to try it out. It's a great fast casual place with lots of classic options. They also have a little store area where you can buy things like ají and huancaína sauce. It's a family owned place and the staff was very sweet. They spent some time talking with us about different places I've been to in Peru. I also enjoyed the decor of pictures of different places in Peru and the restaurant was very clean. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Chorros a la chalaca, strongly recommend this if you love mussels and want something so fresh!

Recently came back from Peru and have been missing home! Decided to try this place with my boyfriend and we were so impressed. The food tasted just like home. Authentic Peruvian food and the owners are the sweetest people and gave us the best suggestions! 10/10 we will be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Mi Corralito. The chicken is superb- savory, not dry at all and well cooked. The accompaniments we got were fries and fried rice both were also delicious. The half chicken which was $12 and sides/ drinks for two cost us $33, reasonably priced. The service was very good. It's a mom and pop shop with not much seating but you can always order ahead and do the out. It's clean, and well decorated. The photos of Peru and its culture are featured beautifully. I would highly recommend and this is something I will crave from now on for sure!

Love coming here! Every time I call, they respond quickly and get my order in asap. The food is delicious; I have had the pollo la brasa and the lomo saltado. The French fries are phenomenal. And I love that they have Peruvian products to purchase. Super organized and clean space. Highly recommend.

Really good, fresh chicken! Rice is always perfectly cooked. Make sure you get a side of their homemade mayo. Staff is always very nice. The full chicken is plenty of food for 2 meals for 2 people. They don't skimp!

This is a new family run business that serves authentic pollo a la brasa rotisserie chicken. It is mostly take out as there is very limited seating. If you have never tried Peruvian rotisserie chicken, you are in for a treat. The smell and flavor is reminiscent of the streets of Lima and restaurants that serve this slow cooked and moist chicken. The flavor was great and my only fault is usually there are 2-3 sauces with one being a green chimi churri. The yellow sauce was creamy and may have had some aji amarillo, but it was not what I was expecting. The price is a little high to feed a family, but I understand - $20/ whole small chicken quartered, I ordered 2. The lomo saltado was great with tender pieces of beef and kept separately from the fries. They also serve authentic drinks that you can try such as Inca cola (coke product- bubble gum/cotton candy?) Kola Inglesa and Chicha morada which is made from purple maiz. It will help to speak Spanish as my call was answered in Spanish. You can order in person but I would call ahead as it is not fast food. I would give it a 4.3 and you definitely should try this chicken because it is not dry and tastes best eaten pulling the meat off the bone with your fingers. Use lots of napkins because you will be licking your fingers to enjoy the taste.

The Papas Verde had an addicting tang from the tomatillo salsa but were brilliantly balanced out by the chorizo and asadero cheese. The shaved brussel salad could have used a little more date and chile to balance out the vinegar but I was pleased either way. The elote was probably the only thing that fell short execution-wise as I didn't get much of the chorizo flavor, but the cook on the corn itself was perfect. The Gambas al Ajillo are absolutely a must-get. Juicy, sweet shrimp with an unexpected kick from the butter sauce and unsurprisingly great bread from Noble. The Tlayuda was a little heavy on the lettuce, but the smoked pork and bean puree combo were so flavorful that it helped balance out the richness with texture and freshness. I also loved the crispy contrast from the fried tortilla. We ended with the Concha and Mango Sticky Rice ice cream which sounded pretty simple but was quite impressive in its own right. The ice cream was a touch too frozen, but it ended up working out well with the crunchy cornflake coating and lightly warmed, pillowy concha to make a really satisfying ending to our meal. Service was excellent and the patio was well-lit and had heaters ready for colder weather. Vecina is on the pricier side for sure, but you will not be disappointed.

While they don't have a…read moreparking, it's located in the heart of Old Town so parking is free on the street and in most surface lots. I found a spot in the surface lot right across the street from one of the most popular Mexican restaurants in town. Ambiance (4/5): The Mission is a nice restaurant. There's a small patio in front and a large patio out back. Sit at the outdoor patio if you can pull it off. Inside is great too, and there's nice artwork both inside and outside. The only issue? It's a popular restaurant and they try to pack in as many people as possible so space is at a premium. That also means that if you come at a peak hour, like we did, it's going to be pretty loud. Service (4/5): There was a wait when we arrived and the bar was full (first come, first served). Luckily, a group was leaving right when I lingered by the bar and we were able to snag the seats. The bartender did a pretty good job taking care of us. There was room for improvement as far as her efficiency and checking in, but overall, given how busy the restaurant was, pretty good. Drinks (4.5/5): The Mission has an interesting cocktail list. As you'd expect, it's tequila-focused but there's a good variety. You'll find creative cocktails which is always big in my book. Plus margaritas like prickly pear margaritas. I went with the correndo na chuva which has cachaca, passion fruit, lemongrass, sherry, and lime juice. Cachaca is a Brazilian liqueur which you don't see in many places so this was a treat. It was a refreshing cocktail. Lots of spicy cocktails are available, too. Food (4/5): While the brunch menu is pretty extensive, I think there's a clear winner: the all-you can eat whole roasted pig out. For $19, and only on Saturdays and Sundays during brunch, it's a steal of a deal. You get pineapple roasted shoulder and pork belly carnitas tacos served with your choice of one of five sauces. There's a little buffet stand where a member of their staff will make the tacos for you. I had about 10 of them and they hit the spot! Nice variety of sauces so I tried all of them except for one (two spicy for my blood) and you can request flour tortillas if you prefer that over the corn tortillas they have. Between the two proteins, I thought the pork shoulder was more flavorful and tender. It's no surprise that The Mission Old Town has some of the most Yelp reviews in town. It's a popular restaurant. Just make sure to make a reservation or stop by outside of peak hours or there's a good chance you'll have a wait.
