Ambiance is preceeded by the tunes being played. Upbeat music with that Latin flare. Tasty entrees done well. Everything smelled so good and arrived to the table quickly. The Mofongo is good with those crunchy bites of chicharrone. Shrimp cooked right. Chicken pieces were really good. The Moro is not much different from dirty rice, per my dining companion. My Sangria was okay but I probably wouldn't order it again. Made me think more like a juice than a wine cocktail. It was really slow on the day we visited but there was a regular stream of people getting food to go.

So I visited Mambo's for the first time today for lunch. I started with the Quipe appetizer (deep fried ground beef onions pepper) and it was small but very good. I then tried the fried green plantains and they are pretty good but needed a dipping sauce. I then had Bistec Guisado (braised beef) with Moro rice and a salad. The beef was very tender and was loaded with great flavors. Highly recommend you order this lunch special. There was only was server when they opened but I didn't feel like I was waiting too long and the food came out pretty quick. The place is in a strip mall and you might miss it driving by but it is worth the effort to find! Give them a try and I think you will enjoy! "FIMP" Food is my Passion

This place was a 10 out of 10!! Highly recommend! It was so clean and the staff was super friendly. My 1st time eating Dominican food and I am hooked !! If I could have given more stars I would have!

First time here and the staff were kind and friendly. Customer service was excellent. The food was good and the portions were generous. The cheese empanadas were a favorite for us. We will return and very much recommend this place.

The food here is really great! I tired Quipe for the first time and it was delicious! Empanada was also great! The raspberry soda was really cool as well. Tried the Steak Sandwich with fries and it was absolutely delicious! Fries were crispy and not excessively salty. They play really happy and upbeat music as well. The server was super friendly and attentive.

My second home as of 2023 has been the beautiful Dominican Republic. The months I'm unable to travel back there, I'm extremely grateful that the BEST Dominican restaurant out of the entire East Valley (possibly all of AZ too), is literally down the street from my AZ home. The beginning of my pregnancy led me to order their Sancocho since I was craving my mother-in-law's cooking. Apparently they only make Sancocho here on Sundays, so I got to try their regular chicken soup on Saturday and came back the next day to get their Sancocho. I would say the flavors curbed my craving. I do want to come back and actually try their other entrees. Like I wonder what their mangu tastes like, that'll be another true test as well. Service every time here has been friendly and warm (that's very typical of the Dominican culture). Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Now that the weather is cooling off I'm sure their patio will be packed on busy nights.

Food ok, they didn't have wat i wanted, no chivo, no Morro rice, so I had to settle for beef , service was gud enuff, wife had the mofongo con shrimp, needed more garlic, we only came because it kept coming in her insta feed, we have been there and done that now

Another chance to try something new brought me to Mambo's and I enjoyed ever moment. As soon as my friend and I walked in, we saw the most handsome men!!!! First impression is "Wow, there's eye candy already and we haven't had food yet!" Seriously, the service was amazing and the food was top notch! Our waitress even gave us a shot of mama-juana (if you've been to the DR you know all about this) and it was the smoothest tasting mama-juana I've ever had! Dangerous drink that will have you feeling some type of way!!! I ordered the pollo guisado and it was so flavorful and fall off the bone tender. The moro (rice with peas or beans) was the perfect accompaniment to the chicken. I wanted to eat half of it just so I could have some more for the late late night treat. The sweet plantains were amazing as well. I could go on and on. I highly recommend treating yourself to Mambo's and even if you can't travel to DR right now, give your taste buds the experience!

This restaurant is really amazing overall. The food was super filling and flavorful. I loved the empanadas as they were super soft and juicy on the inside. The main dish was pretty filling and could feed two people if you are wanting to get a lot of other food. There are so many great options it was hard to choose what to eat. I also recommend getting one of the smoothies, I got a mango smoothie and it was so creamy and delicious I drank it so fast. Our server was super sweet and quick to bring out our food. This place has such a great ambiance with latin music playing in the background and families enjoying their food. We didn't have any issues eating here and we will definitely be coming back again! I recommend this place if you want to try caribbean food and have a good time:)

This restaurant is a great opportunity to try Dominican food and hospitality. You should try the Santo Domingo coffee, juices and passion fruit drink. If you like falafel, you must try the quipes which I love. They are moist and juicy since they have meat, and the chimmichuri sauce is fantastic. The server was friendly and our order arrived in a timely manner. My friend ordered the chimi burger and it also had melted cheese on top of the bun. He loved it and he received a generous portion of fries. The pollo guisado is a "plato típico" or how traditionally or typically the dish is prepared or served in DR. It comes with white rice or with beans which can be drier. The decor will remind anyone of the island's love of vibrant colors, and love for sports. The country produces lots of baseball players and other sports athletes. The food is not spicy so it is a great place to enjoy the Latin culture, mudic, food and hospitality.

The restaurant is a very good size with lots of room and tables available. The decor is that of PR culture which is very colorful and bright. We started off with canoa which is a plantain stuffed with ground beef and cheese. It was very hot and delicious! For our "platos principals" (main entrees) I had the pechuga de pollo (chicken breast with grilled onions) with mofongo as my side (also comes with a side salad). It was very tasty and not dry at all. BFF had the pernil (pulled pork) with arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas) as his side which also came with a side salad. For dessert we shared the tembleque which is a coconut pudding but not in the traditional sense of pudding (more like a jelly texture). BFF also ordered coquito (holiday rum drink) & apparently our server (Sophia) omitted the rum so the owner came by and offered a fresh glass. Speaking of, everything was wonderful except that Sophia seemed to have a bit of a poor attitude as she wasn't too friendly. I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt as perhaps she wasn't feeling well but out of the corner of my eye she had this almost "eyeroll" look. Perhaps she just didn't want to be there (she was friendly upon us leaving and thanked us). Anyway, I highly recommend this establishment. Both food and ambience was great and the service was too.

By the time we left it was hopping! Lots of regulars you could tell. Staff was very nice, restroom clean and well stocked. Ambiance? Cute island minimalism! FOOD Had to start with the empanadas which were soo good and great flavor in the meat, I LOVE Cuban sandwiches but have failed to find a halfway decent one in Arizona. When we were in Miami and Key West I ate my weight in Cuban sandwiches so that's my gold standard! This one is just as good if not better! Advised it was big but we each ordered one anyway and big is an understatement they were huge! Roasted pork delicious and juicy, ham and Swiss. Just the right about of mustard not to overpower it and the right amount of pickles to also enhance but not overpower the flavor. The Cuban bread DELICIOUS! For 12 dollars it was two meals and a small snack for me. I'd say that's a heck of a deal ! We are already planning a trip out west to go back !

We both love Latin and Asian cuisine so the menu seemed to fit our palate Was seated pretty quick and they handed my gf a rose. Got me extra brownie points for sure (told her I arranged that jokingly lol) The vibe is awesome a dimly lit jungle vibe for the Peruvian inspiration. Good music not too loud like other "high end" spots in Scottsdale that try to do too much. They also had a fire performer in the middle of our dinner which added to the ambiance. We sat inside but the outdoor seating also looked nice. During the day this place would have great views of the golf course I imagine. Onto the food, oysters were great quality, fresh but still briny. Had a pineapple mignonette that complimented well. My gf doesn't like oysters but these were small enough for her to enjoy with the added sweetness. Calamari was also solid, had a great chipotle aioli and ginger scallion oyster sauce on the side. The salmon ceviche was a bit of a let down. More like a crudo if you ask me, but still great flavors. Cocktails were great too! The corn mezcal was super unique. Not the biggest mezcal person but it sounded too good to pass up and definitely glad I tried it. My gf got the pisco sour and it was perfectly tart but refreshing. For mains we got the Lomo Saltado and Salmon. Both were great, Lomo Saltado was super tender and had great flavors. Same with salmon, nothing too unique but still on point Overall all the food was very well seasoned and flavorful. Nothing lacked. Cocktails were good. The lobster fried rice was better, but small portions and a very small lobster serving made us wonder how this dish cost $49. We hoped me might finish with a dessert to pick up the mood after a lackluster meal. The salted carmel brownie we decided on wasn't great; tasteless and bland, it just wasn't worth it. The woman kept checking on me, and I actually liked that the cook brings out the food that's a nice personal touch you don't see everywhere. That said, the portions were underwhelming. I understand it leans more toward a dine-in experience, but the oxtail serving felt small. The presentation almost plays tricks on you it comes on a large plate with separate bowls for the sides, which makes it look like more than it actually is. On top of that, having to choose between cabbage or plantains felt a bit limiting for sides. The rice was a little dry and slightly hard for my taste, but I will say the plantains were really good sweet and done right. I couldn't help but compare it to another Caribbean spot I recently tried in Glendale, where the portions were generous and the oxtail was big, tender, and full of flavor. Here, the flavor was good, but it didn't stand out. I've definitely had better, so my expectations were a bit higher. Overall, it's not a bad spot it just feels pricey for what you get. I spent around $60 total: two cocktails at $15 each, plus the oxtail at market price (which can run $30-$40). The biggest plus is convenience it's close to home, so it's an easy option when I'm craving Jamaican food. But if I'm being honest... next time, I might still find myself making that drive back out to Glendale.
