Overall à good experience. The hostesses were a bit lackadaisical, and the atmosphere has a touch of sports bar about it. Definitely a good place for families. Our server Katherine was attentive and enthusiastic. I especially appreciated her willingness to rush back to the kitchen to secure the last octopus dish for me. It was probably the best grilled octopus I've had in ages. The Mac and cheese was very rich. We had heard about a dessert treat offered here and ehe table next to us ordered it. The "Bomba" is basically ice cream sundae smashed on the (plastic covered) table and diners dig in with their spoon. Again, fun for the kids.

Attended a super fun ladies' luncheon at celebrity chef Richard Sandoval's upscale yet laidback resto featuring "Latin Without Borders" cuisine. Our flavor-forward set menu, served family-style: WATERMELON HEIRLOOM TOMATO & BURRATA SALAD heirloom tomato | mixed cress | shaved fennel tomato dressing | watermelon dressing | balsamic reduction AVOCADO SALAD mesclun | cherry tomatoes | charred corn | queso spread | fried garbanzo | ají-miel dressing GRILLED CHICKEN SANDWICH achiote marinated chicken | truffle aioli | tomato | provoleta cheese | bell peppers CUBANO SANDWICH French bread | pulled pork | ham | Swiss cheese | black habanero mustard | house-made pickled cucumbers VEGETABLE FRIED RICE When we had difficulty deciding on drinks, our server went above and beyond by bringing each of us samples of Toro's five signature cocktails! I decided to proceed with the PASSION FRUIT PISCO SOUR (passion fruit, lychee, apricot, lime, aquafaba, angostura) and had no regrets. :D

The food was delicious. Ordered the sweet corn empanada as an appetizer and the grilled octopus. I had the crunchy shrimp sushi roll. The background music was perfect not too loud, it allowed us to enjoy our dinner without feeling anxious. And to top it off the cheesecake was to die for. I highly recommend it

Very lovely spot for a high-end dinner, but expect to pay top dollar for the experience. Toro was able to accommodate our very large party of 13. We were seated at such a fun large round table with a center lazy suzy table top in the center. The table was not occlusive so we were all able to easily talk across the table, but still have individual conversations and plenty of personal space. The ambience was lovely with dim lighting that gleamed lovely off the wood accents and decor. The fire dancer was a fun element. The food all looked so yummy on the menu with Peruvian and Argentinian influences. Albeit the prices were a bit high even for Scottsdale. I got the short rib which was exquisite and fall off the bone tender (no knife necessary!). The sweet potato puree was lightly sweet, and perfectly blended with spices. The broccolini was also well charred and salted. Our waiter was intuitive and well accommodating. Overall, a perfect experience for our large group.

I do not even know where to begin because Toro was amazing. The food, the service, and the ambiance all came together perfectly. The staff was so attentive and friendly that it made the whole night feel like a 10 out of 10 experience. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share and every single one was incredible. The calamari was one of the best I have had, and the octopus was cooked perfectly. I also ordered a mocktail and the presentation was beautiful. The attention to detail is unreal. They even engrave the restaurant's name into the ice cube, which blew my mind. For our entrees we shared sushi. It was good, maybe not as amazing as the appetizers, but still delicious. We were celebrating my birthday and my friend's birthday, and they surprised us with their La Bamba tradition at the end, which was so fun to experience. Everything about this dinner was memorable. The food, the service, and the presentation were all top-tier. I highly recommend Toro and would absolutely come back next time I am in Scottsdale.

We made dinner reservations for a Thursday evening to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant was dimly lit and decorated with plants and beautiful chandeliers. Our server Brent was excellent. We were never left waiting for service. He constantly checked on us and made recommendations from the menu. We started with cocktails including a dirty martini, served icy cold, a passion fruit pisco sour, cuatros coco and the paper playa. All were tasty with the least favorite cuatros coco. The coconut was just overpowering. For the appetizer, we ordered the short rib tacos, sweet corn empanadas and the heirloom tomato & burrata for the table. The appetizers were plentiful for the four of us and all were delicious. We really liked the corn empanadas which were packed with flavor, especially with the accompanying chimichurri sauce. For dinner, the lobster fried rice, scallops and pork belly and the glazed short ribs. My friends loved the lobster fried rice and felt they had a nice portion of lobster. The lobster was cooked perfectly. I felt the short ribs were a little dry even though it was smothered in a glaze. The glaze was just way too sweet for my liking. The short ribs were also sliced like thin medallions which was different. For the birthday girl dessert, we ordered the brownie con helado which was delicious! We had a nice evening and we each said we would come back again.

Toro is an excellent choice for a night out, and it's a solid addition to the North Scottsdale dining scene. My recent visit was a fantastic experience overall, with just a few small details that kept it from being a five-star review. Ambience - From the moment you arrive, you're transported to another world. Approaching the restaurant, you pass by the golf pro shop, which blends a high-end country club vibe with a fantastical, vibrant destination. The dimly lit space, accented with fire dancers and a welcoming crew, creates a lively and memorable atmosphere. Food - The menu is an exciting fusion of Latin and Asian flavors. We started with the tuna guacamole, which I'd highly recommend pairing with your meal. I loved the plantain chip option instead of traditional tortilla chips, and the dish was flavorful overall. We also tried a sushi roll, which was good quality but a bit underwhelming in its ambition for a restaurant of this caliber. They also brought out a complimentary order of gluten-free cheese bread with a sweet and spicy salsa, which was a delicious surprise. For our main course, we ordered the ribeye and the lobster fried rice. The fried rice had great flavor, but the lobster on top was a bit overcooked. As someone with a partner from New England, we tend to be a little critical of our seafood, so that was some key feedback for us. The ribeye came out slightly more well-done than the warm pink center we asked for. It wasn't enough to send it back, but it was noticeable. One thing I really appreciate is that the kitchen doesn't shy away from spice, which adds an authentic kick to their dishes. We also sampled a few of the drinks. I can highly recommend the American Old Fashioned--it's a punchy, robust, and spicy take on a classic. However, my partner's prickly pear margarita was entirely too sweet and couldn't even be finished. Service - The service was excellent. We had a very personable waiter who was attentive and added to our overall enjoyment of the meal. The entire staff was welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. Overall - Despite a few minor issues with the food and one of the drinks, this is still a great restaurant that should be on your list for a special night out. The fantastic ambience and exceptional service make it a top contender in the area.

Toro - "Latin Without Borders" Perched on the 18th hole of the picturesque TPC Golf Course, Toro delivers an atmosphere that feels equal parts upscale and adventurous. As part of our cross-country road trip in May, my family and I met up with a friend here for dinner--and from the moment we arrived, the setting impressed. Expansive views, stylish decor, and a lively energy made it feel like a special occasion spot right from the start. It's a kid-friendly place, sure--but honestly, I think there are better restaurant options for families with kids. Ours weren't too into the food (standard kid fare like chicken fingers with fries and mac & cheese) and were way more excited to run around the golf course afterward, doing flips, handstands, and just burning off energy. The adult experience, however, was excellent. My husband, our friend, and I shared a variety of dishes, including the tomato burrata (heirloom tomato, frisée, compressed watermelon, shaved fennel, balsamic reduction), crispy rock shrimp (aji amarillo aioli, pickled chili, crunchy garlic), salmon (kimchee marinade, cauliflower purée, bacon morita chili jam, achiote ponzu, bok choy), and the toro omakase (chef's selection of ceviche, tiradito, maki, nigiri, and oysters). Each dish was thoughtfully composed, beautifully plated, and packed with bold, creative flavors--exactly what you'd expect at this price point. Toro would be an excellent choice for a date night or an upscale evening out. I'd also imagine happy hour here is a great experience. And if you're around on a Friday or Saturday evening, don't miss the live fire dancer performances--they're dynamic, captivating, and add a memorable twist to the evening.

If your looking for a trendy spot to take great photos, come here. The ambiance here was such a vibe. The patio overlooks a golf course, the indoor space has moody lighting with a tropical upper scale decor! There was also great live music. The food was alright. I really loved the calamari appetizer and the dipping sauces. For paying over 20 dollars for a sushi roll, it nothing special. The dessert was good. The server himself was a super kind guy, but the service sub par. We had a group of 10, the server recommended a cocktail to someone and didn't bring it over for 30+ minutes after everyone had cocktails, when we followed up about the drink he said they were out of the ingredients but he "knew what to do". The checks were split incorrectly, he "fixed them" but they were still incorrect.

Was not expecting phenomenal sushi on a golf course but... Wow! Omokase plate was insane. Oysters were insane. Caesar salad with steak - unbelievable. Great service. Almost over the top vibe. Great time!!!

The last time we stayed at the Princess hotel, we had such a wonderful lunch. We had to go back this time when we were visiting again. Next time we went to celebrate my grandson's birthday and they made it a wonderful experience as always. The service was excellent food was top-notch as always. I was very pleased with everything and so with my family the ambience is great if you don't know, it's on the 18th hole of the golf course, so the view is beautiful. They remodeled since the last time I was here so everything looks great. All the updates look wonderful great improvement. Food 5/5 View 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Service 5/5 Location 5/5 Return Factor 5/5

I ate it together with the rice, Calabrian chili, and herbs that came with it. The short rib agnolotti was another great dish that melted in your mouth and had a great cambozola cheese that added a lot of flavor. Great visit, look forward to going back!

From the moment we stepped inside and were seated, we were greeted by our favorite server, Anna. She's the epitome of the perfect server--always attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Anna's attention to detail is impeccable. She knows exactly when to bring us warm bread with seasoned butter and expertly shakes the last drop of the infamous cosmopolitan cocktail. The crab cakes are simply incredible--so soft, so flavorful, and better than any crab cake I've ever had anywhere else! But the real magic happens when Anna places the banana foster right in front of us with the flaming liquor. It's a showstopper that leaves us in awe. Eddie V's consistently delivers an exceptional service and dining experience. Keep up the fantastic work, EV!

Our server was 5 star amazing and quick on a busy Mother's Day weekend. The manager saved the day after our host was less than satisfactory. THANK YOU. Beautiful restaurant. My wife and I celebrated my birthday with dinner here and we had an absolute wonderful experience…read more It was our first time dining here but it definitely will not be our last. The service was top tier. I wish customer service like this existed everywhere. Hannah was outstanding. She was welcoming, attentive, and helped make our night even more enjoyable. She didn't linger but somehow always knew when to check back on us as soon as we needed something. We're always weary of trying out a new restaurant for the first time but dinner was spectacular. Everything we ordered was so delicious and cooked to delectable perfection. High compliments to the chef! Appetizer: Warm Bread Basket - A must have! The bread was so scrumptious that it doesn't even need the delicious whipped butter. But the butter was so amazing it was hard not to smother every morsel of bread with it. Fantastic appetizer option. Entrees: 1/2lb Dutch Harbor King Crab Legs - Served with perfectly cooked asparagus, potatoes, and the usual side of melted butter. My wife said the butter that the crab is cooked in/served with was so phenomenal that she didn't have the need to dip into the side butter. I chose this restaurant because my wife loves crab legs and these absolutely delivered. The meat was sweet and succulent, and most importantly, they tasted fresh! Filet Mignon (8oz) - Delicious and perfectly seasoned! Exactly cooked how my wife ordered it and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Willow Bend Lamb - I can't rave enough about how exquisite this was. I was worried the chops were going to be too large but the portion size was spot on to my liking. The roasted garlic thyme jus it's served with is rich, savory, and a great compliment to the tender and juicy chop. I would order this again and again. Sides: Parmesan Truffle Fries and Smoked Gouda Tater Tots - It's hard to mess up a potato but somehow Ocean Prime was able to make it even more delicious. The fries had a perfect balance of crisp and tender, and the parmesan truffle flavor was the cherry on top. Wonderful aftertaste and surprisingly pairs well with crab legs. The tots had a perfect crisp exterior and a fluffy inside. The offerings are generous so 1 side would suffice for 2 people. Every bite was scrumptious and a definite recommend for the table. Cocktails: My wife also had the Berries & Bubbles cocktail. Well, it was so yummy that she had 2 of them. I had a sip and although I'm not a vodka fan, I can attest that it was indeed yummy. The dry ice is a nice touch and adds to the beauty and appeal of this drink. The drink is poured at the table (Hannah is clearly a pro at it). It was like a dinner and a show! Dessert: We were offered to choose a dessert on-the-house to celebrate my birthday. We ordered the Warm Butter Cake for the table and a Chocolate Torte to go. Hannah was kind enough to comp both of them for us! The Warm Butter Cake was AMAZING! From the delicious ice cream served on top to the gooey buttery velvety center of the cake with a perfectly crisped edge, it was everything you'd want in a dessert and more. I'm sure it's the star of the dessert menu. I've yet to make it to the torte but I've no doubt I'll be swimming in chocolatey goodness when I do. Lastly, I had flowers delivered to the restaurant to surprise my wife, and I asked if they would please have them set at the table prior to our arrival. They were able to receive the delivery before opening time and were placed perfectly in the middle of our table (booth seating). I'm so grateful for how they accommodated my request and helped me execute a wonderful surprise that gained a beautiful smile from my wife. 10/10 experience. Five stars all across the board. Worth every dollar spent. I highly recommend Ocean Prime for any and all events, or if you're simply just looking for a delicious meal.

We were surprised how popular the happy hour seems to be, and the lounge seems to fill up quickly, so get there early. We were given a free bowl of truffle popcorn in the lounge, which was a nice touch and very good, especially if you love truffle like me. We ordered the Ocean Roll on happy hour, which is tuna, salmon, hamachi and avocado. This roll was good but I wouldn't pay full price of $30 for it, so I guess getting sushi on happy hour is the way to go. For the three course meal we got the house salad, which was good with a nice mustard vinagrette that delicious and not overpowering. For main we got the scallops with risotto. The menu and other pictures showed four scallops with parmesean and pea risotto, but instead we got three scallops with lobster risotto in a red sauce. I'm not going to complain about getting one less scallop since I got lobster risotto, but the only knock was both our risottos were ice cold while the scallops were hot. Also, my wife's risotto had a huge piece of lobster shell in it. For dessert we got the warm butter cake and carrot cake. Both were good, but the warm butter cake especially good with the ice cream. While the carrot cake seemed like a smaller portion made for the three course menu, it was still plenty of dessert to share. The sides of truffle mac and corn were also very good and rich. Ambiance and layout of the restaurant was nice and a good option for date night. Service also was very good. I would definitely go back for hapoy hour.

Words don't do this place justice!…read more The service was so on point and they all work as a team. Multiple people will check on you, clear the table, and refill anything you need. The overall place is super cute, quaint, and not loud so you can actually hear your table conversation. The food....delicious! I'll start off by saying those OYSTER BITES are money! My friend and I ordered multiple and I would have ordered more if we didn't have a place to be afterwards. I'm definitely ordering this every single time. The Tuna carpaccio was to die for, I would order this every time! The Lobster croissant was interesting, the lobster itself was so juicy and buttery, I didn't care much for the croissant or shrimp on it. The caviar chips were good but I wouldn't order them again, it was more chips than anything else. The drinks were sooooo good! If you don't know what to order the staff is very knowledgeable and can help guide you. A message for the owners: I absolutely love the concept! You two are extraordinary and I hope you don't change a thing at either of your restaurants. All of them are fantastic. The quality of food is outstanding and the way you train your staff is beyond amazing.

We also ordered their mashed potatoes. The service, while very friendly and helpful with the menu...went downhill from there. You might roll your eyes at the first one but we asked if they could split the two meals up as we were sharing. No, the kitchen can't do that. They can't plate it on two separate plates? Ok. Whatever. But then they brought out the pasta and shrimp and we waited quite some time, at least 10 minutes for the halibut. Reminded 2 servers that we also ordered potatoes and those came 5 minutes after the pasta. This was just not good. Since we waited, though we at half the pasta, the reminder was lukewarm at best. The potatoes finally came, weren't great, maybe they left out the gruyere? We had a few bites but with the elevated flavors of everything else it just fell short. I mentioned it and it was just ignored. Food coming out at different times, didn't like one dish - at least act like you care. This was our first time, and the food was sooooo good, I'll definitely be back but I do hope they take the service up a notch. I highly recommend having the staff read unreasonable hospitality, the food they served deserves it.

They are incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely make every guest feel welcome from the moment they walk in. Not only are their drinks consistently excellent, but they handle busy nights with an impressive level of calm and efficiency. Even when the bar is packed, they remember orders, keep a positive attitude, and make sure guests feel taken care of. That kind of service is rare. What really sets them apart is their personality and work ethic. They create an atmosphere that keeps people coming back. You can tell they care about both the customers and the success of the business. Every time I visit, I see them going above and beyond, helping coworkers, keeping things organized, and maintaining a great vibe for everyone around them. Employees like this are a huge asset to any establishment, and in my opinion, they absolutely deserve recognition!

The bartenders are amazing however we are sad our normal peeps have left. Tonight Sean KILLED it with us and so glad he was still there since first meeting him on Halloween. Honestly the reason for 4 stars is the fact the drunken wifey is gone and the 3% credit card fee. We have been coming here for a little over 5 years and never had to pay that. Wild change and slightly bs. You already charge a lot for food and drinks (increases over the years are noticeable with management changes) but when you always have a rather large bill usually $700-sometimes over $1000 depending on the kind of evening we're having it is going to be very noticeable. A change like that needs to be more obvious, minus a little print at the bottom of the menu. No one even noticed (since we really didn't need the menu to order) nor did our server. It truly makes me want to give you a three star but I can't discredit the hard working staff and people in the kitchen, as it is clearly the change of new management and the "rebuild" from the beginning of the year. It speaks volumes to a group that has been dedicated to the Americano since March of 2020 and now makes us wonder if it's time to move onto a different restaurant.
