Short rib "al Chianti" has never heard of Chianti

I don't often leave reviews, but this was the worst meal I've had in a long time. Everything we ordered was consistently tasteless and poor quality, well below diner level, and the audacity to charge those prices made me mad enough to write this because people need to know. Here is what we ordered and how it tasted: -I got a $20 cocktail (can't recall the name), which was supposed to be a bit spicy. It's not that it was too mild, it had 0 spice at all, and almost no alcohol. My husband got a martini which was mostly olive brine, again almost no alcohol. -Truffle fries were very bland, barely tasted like anything. Texture was similar to In-n-Out fries. -Shrimp ceviche mysteriously had 0 acid. I'm not talking light on lime juice, I'm talking 0 lime juice, begging the question how was the shrimp cooked? It tasted like the shrimp was pre-boiled and put into a watery tomato sauce. -I was so excited about the $60 short rib al Chianti because I love both of those things, but it was awful. The meat was dry and brittle (see photo) and had no flavor, just tasted boiled. The Chianti sauce has never even been in the same room as Chianti, it was more like carrot puree (see the orange stuff in the photo). The mashed potatoes were lumpy and served cold. -My husband got the halibut which tasted like a fish-n-chips slab of fish with a bunch of cream sauce, which tasted nothing like poblano. The asparagus was passable but not trimmed. Our server was nice enough, but all the food was so consistently awful, we just paid out tab and went nextdoor to Veneto to try to save the evening.

Six of us came tonight with elevated taste, and Miel did not disappoint. The restaurant is not too large and very dimly lit. Service was impressive , very attentive server and our waters were never empty. In fact we had some of the best dishes, service and experience any of us have had. Calamari was divine!! Everyone either finished their meals or are looking forward to left overs tomorrow. Highly recommend you try this spot if you like next level Mexican cuisine.

There has been a few different restaurants at this location. Finally, I think the landlord has found a winner. The redecorated decor is absolutely beautiful. Food was excellent. I had an Mola enchilada, which was the best I have ever eaten. Service, I think our waiter was a little on the new side, perhaps a little on the young side. He was friendly and tried hard. He could have done a little better had he had a little more training. But don't hold that against the restaurant. Go, you'll love it.

If I could give Wayward 10 stars out of 5, I absolutely would! This restaurant is amazing, and…read moreevery dish we tried gave us another reason to come back. The buns on the appetizer menu are a must order. The half chicken is one of the best dishes I have ever tasted in my life. You absolutely have to get the fried rice, it is spectacular, and the tacos are unbelievable. The flavors and presentation make every dish feel like a work of art. Our server, Jacob, made the experience even more memorable. His warmth, professionalism, and exceptional service are a true testament to how someone should represent a restaurant's brand. He was absolutely outstanding and deserves recognition. Wayward, you have created something special. Incredible food and equally incredible service. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

My family and I came to check it out, and we all really enjoyed it. The menu is such a cool fusion of Asian and Mexican/Latin flavors -- definitely different, but in the best way. We ordered the pork carnitas board, and it was AWESOME. Calling it "carnitas" almost doesn't do it justice because the pork reminded me more of a super meaty pork belly -- tender, flavorful, and there was a TON of it. There were four of us sharing, and we still had leftovers! The homemade blue corn tortillas were amazing, and I loved all the different sauces. They had that Asian-fusion flavor with a Latin spin that somehow just worked. And give me ALL the pickled veggies! The pickled slaw and vegetables added that perfect tangy crunch to the rich pork and really balanced everything out. The kimchi rice on the side was another fun touch and went perfectly with the whole meal. It's a small, laid-back spot, and there was a one-man band playing acoustic guitar and singing some great classic songs while we were there, which made the atmosphere even better. Nothing stuffy or overdone -- just relaxed, good food, good music, and a really enjoyable night. Definitely glad TikTok led us to this little hidden gem. I'm happy we tried it, and I would absolutely go back!

The atmosphere inside is relaxed yet sophisticated with an overwhelming feeling of being in on a secret no one else knows, so cool! We happened to come early enough in the day to where getting a table wasn't an issue but I would say make a reservation when coming as it is limited seating and absolutely worth it. I came with my husband and my bestie for some birthday cocktails and bites. We were actually lucky enough to have our Uber driver point out the door on the way in, I don't want to give away any secrets but keep an eye out for a door marked with the goose silhouette. It was very back-door, hush hush The cocktails were fantastic! The Clover Club was by far my favorite but everything we got was wonderful! I definitely recommend getting some bites while you're there too, we got the charcuterie board and it was plenty for the three of us. Nick took great care of us, making excellent recommendations throughout our visit but the star of the show was Miss Bella! She was so sweet right off the bat, welcoming us in and wishing me a very happy birthday! She very clearly takes a lot of personal pride in her customer care and it shows! Plus, her nails?? Gorgeous! We really had a great time and will definitely be back soon! Thank you The Goose for a wonderful birthday!

It feels brand new and the staff is super kind and friendly. - Super cute venue and I love the decor and the AI generated duck photos on the walls, LOL! - Expected board games with the name, but was pleasantly surprised to find miniature versions of bowling, axe throwing and curling! - This spot is perfect for company get-together's, which is what I was there for, birthday parties or just a low-key hang out with friends. Highly recommend checking out House Rules, especially with our summers being so hot. This is a great indoor activity. My birthday is coming up in August and even thinking of throwing a small birthday thing here with friends/family!

We were exploring Old Town Scottsdale last February when we came across this spot. We were already…read moredeep within the 2026 olympics, so, we thought it might be neat to try curling. Now I realize that the 2026 was a Summer Olympics and Curling is part of the Winter Olympics, but we didn't care Upon entry to go to the host stand and tell them what you're looking to do (activities vs bar/waiting). The space is relatively open and you can immediately see the fully stocked bar, the bowling area, the back axe throwing lanes, and the enclosed curling lanes. We opted for a package that got us unlimited games (any) for an hour. We started with curling and we didn't need any special clothes or shoes. We were lead to a lane and it's set up like shuffleboard (you can stand on either side and there's two separate color stones). There's ice where you glide your stones and you stand on rubber for traction. You can glide by hand or use a piece of equipment that is essentially a stick to help push and guide your stone. There's an attendant on duty to help any stones that are stuck or that don't make it down the lane The experience was awesome. We've always wanted to try curling, but it's difficult to find somewhere that is set up to let you do that. We were amazed that we finally tried it in a desert of all places. There are no brushes like in typical curling, but you still get a sense of the Olympic activity. The bowling was fun too, but it's a smaller version like you might see in some novelty bars. Axe throwing was that of typical ax throwing. You had a couple different sizes of axes, there's lanes and you throw at a wooden target. They had computers to input your name and keep track of points. It was sometimes difficult to stick the wooden target, but it was fun We didn't try the food or drink, but everything looked good. The staff were very helpful. It was a weekend, and it wasn't overly crowded which was nice. Overall it was a fun experience Some tips: If your stones seem to be getting stuck down the lane, ask the attendant to move you to another lane. That's what we did and it made all the difference Explore the rest of bustling Old Town Scottsdale. There's literally something for everyone, and definitely check out the Frybread Lounge for some great Native American fusion cuisine Chee

Really enjoyed the food we got especially the Lumache allá Vodka with meatball. My chicken Parmesan was also excellent. There were a few hiccups with our sever but not Enough to derail the meal. We ordered martinis when we were first asked for drinks. After we got the martinis he told us about the whole Martini cart and menu, which I really we he would have led with that. We still ended up Ordering something with the martini cart but probably would have started with that if we had known. Other than that everything was perfect. I made a reservation, but it was absolutely unnecessary because there was not one other person in the entire restaurant. I didn't expect it to be as crowded as night time, but I didn't expect it to be completely empty either. It felt kind of weird to be in there alone. The place is nice, kind of understated except for the red neon light running along the ceiling. I wouldn't call it especially special, but it was definitely nice. There is a lovely huge lighting fixture in the corner, and an atrium with tables and lots of hanging plants. There's a bar and a couple of lounge areas with sofas and TVs. We ordered a sparkling water and a peroni beer. The water was more than the beer surprisingly. For appetizer we ordered the Roman Style Meatballs and Agreed Provolone Sticks. The Provolone sticks were pretty good, but I found the meatballs too be just okay. For entree I ordered the Lamache alla Vodka, which was really good, with a little spicy kick to it. My son ordered the Godfather sandwich, served with house made potato chips and a pickle. I didn't try his, but he said it was quite good. For dessert we got chocolate chip gelato with a delicious lemony cookie. Our server was polite and attentive. He added the nice touches--every time he came to check on us he ruled our glasses from the bottles on out table. I would say everything was fine at Sexy Roman. I did expect it to be more than five, though--i had expected it to be fantastic. I can't see us returning here, though.

Let me start off by saying my first 2 visits were not the best. In fact, This place was sitting on a 3 star rating for a while, but my last visit picked up and made up a little. I waited to wrote this review in hopes that they would redeem themselves from my first 2 visits. The first time I came, I had Lemon Pepper Wings which came to me after a very long wait. When I finally got them, they were basically naked wings, like without any seasoning. I asked for the seasoning and one of the bussers came and brought me a cup of it. I sprinkled the wings with it but when I took a bite, they were SALTY AF!!!!! I then had to shake off all the seasoning to be able to finish them. SMH. I also ordered some Sweet Potato Fries which oddly came to me within about 3 minutes. I almost finished them before I finally got the wings. I was seated at the bar and since it was packed, I sat in the only open seat which happened to be between 2 gentlemen. The guy to my left was ready to go and when he asked for his bill, they had charged him for my stuff. Super weird because we clearly weren't together and I wasn't even talking to him the entire time. He kindly alerted them and they adjusted his bill. My second visit the next day wasn't any better. Went in with 2 coworkers for $1 oysters and Happy Hour. We ordered some cocktails which took forever again, and when we asked about them, we were told they didn't have the blended margaritas ready, so she offered us on the rocks instead. We said okay since we were thirsty on a Thursday. We tasted each other's drink and they tasted exactly the same, even though we ordered different ones. I also ordered a 2nd round of 6 oysters for myself which I never got. I had to let our server know that I never got them, so she took them off the bill. Our server wasn't very friendly and she just looked like she wanted to leave. My 3rd and latest visit is when I had the Tomahawk. My friend and I started off with oysters, then ordered their huge Tomahawk, which came with a variety of sauces and a side of French Fries. This time, we came in a little later, around 730 pm or so. It wasn't as busy, so maybe that's the perfect time to go. Service was great that last time, and our drinks were perfect. Overall, it's a cool place and the decor is pretty gnarly, but I feel like they do need to work out some kinks. Prices are average but Happy Hour is where it's at. The Tomahawk special is $99 on Mondays and Tuesdays I believe, and they come with 2 large sides (we went on a Thursday so we didn't get that special). The last visit brought up my 3 stars to a 4. I'll come again, but I hope they stay consistent!
