The views and atmosphere at Orange Sky are absolutely beautiful--perfect for a special occasion. The food and service were both excellent and lived up to expectations. Unfortunately, the experience was disrupted by a large group of intoxicated golfers. There is a dress code, and had it been enforced, this situation may have been avoided. My husband and I were celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary, and the group became extremely loud--yelling, using inappropriate language, and creating an uncomfortable environment. Management did try to handle the situation, but when the group was leaving, their behavior escalated. They were running around near our table, and when my 69-year-old husband (who uses a scooter and oxygen) spoke up, they became confrontational and appeared ready to start a fight. It was disappointing and honestly a bit unsettling. For a $200+ dinner, you expect a peaceful and upscale experience. While the restaurant itself is wonderful and the staff made an effort, this incident took away from what should have been a very special evening. read more

Orange Sky... kinda reminds you of Arizona sunsets huh? Located on the rooftop of Talking Stick Resort & Casino, this rooftop bar and restaurant is easy to miss, but you should definitely seek it out. Talking Stick has a spacious free parking lot. After entering the casino, you'll see some elevators close to the Cultural Center. Take them to the top and you'll be in for a treat. Ambiance (5/5): It doesn't get much better than this. When you exit the elevators, you'll be in the spacious bar area. If you're looking for drinks, you can sit at the bar or the comfortable seating that surrounds the bar. Don't sit for too long though because there's a little outdoor deck close to the elevators where you can see nice views of Scottsdale and Phoenix. Move toward the back and you'll find the sit-down restaurant and patio area. On the patio, you'll see those same scenic views. There's even an area with 10 or so semi-circle booths that face the windows (and those views I mentioned). Definitely a romantic, date night type of spot. Service (3.5/5): The service hasn't been bad the two times I've stopped by, just a bit slow. There was one bartender both times I visited. The second time, he must have gone to the bathroom or something because I waited 10 minutes or so to order a drink. That's the downside of only having one bartender working. Food (N/A): I've only had drinks the two times I've visited, but I have perused the menu and it looks interesting. It's upscale, think of it as the menu you'd typically see at a steakhouse with some flair. What type of flair, you ask? Exotic game. We're talking things like ostrich fillets. If you're the adventurous type, all of this should pique your interest. If you're not, there's a lot of "regular stuff" on the menu too. Drinks (4/5): Orange Sky has an interesting list of craft cocktails. I've tried two different cocktails and they were both solid. I was impressed with the unique blend of ingredients. They're a bit pricey, but well done and boozy (always a plus in my book). Outside of cocktails, they have a full bar so beer, wine, liquor, etc. That ostrich fillet is on my mind. I really don't like leaving reviews like this, but at this price point, Orange Sky needs to do better. We had a reservation for our friends birthday dinner at 5:30. This was all of our first time here and the experience started out great, but our main servers attitude really left a bad taste in our mouths. The older asian lady that greeted us at the elevator was PHENOMENAL. I wish I caught her name but she was bubbly and sweet, knew exactly which table we were and was hyping us up on the walk to our seat. Busboys were great but again, our main server could not have acted more rude and irritated towards us. I didn't catch her name and maybe she was having a bad day, but again - do better. Food selection is good. Entrees do not come with sides and the sides are family style. We all ordered some cocktails before dinner, and I got the grilled oysters with a filet and brussel sprouts for dinner. Food was good and maybe if our service wasn't so bad, I'd consider coming back. We had a geat experience at the Orange Sky Resturant at the Talking Stick Casino!! The staff was so friendly, knowledgeable and professional, great attitudes all around. The food was delicious. Presentation was top notch with the appetizers as well as main courses, the mini meatballs were to die for!! We enjoyed the desserts as well, I had the Flan and my wife had the Chocolate Mousse and they were the best versions we ever had! The atmosphere at this resturant was upscale yet allowed a casual feeling. The ambiance had a very comfortable feeling and the views will knock your socks off. We celebrated our 47th anniversary there and every staff member we interacted with gave us good wishes. What was a bit weird, it wasn't a big deal, we didn't expect one but most places will provide a complimentary dessert or drink for such an occasion. We started in the bar! We had the Kumamoto oysters and they were really fresh and clean. Drinks were solid good and the bartender was wonderful!! The salads were solid not great. Caesar could've had more garlic, lemon and parm. For the $$ stop the pie e of salmon could be a tad larger. OK.The chicken was solid. The corn cake was delish. It's a friend's birthday and they want to go somewhere very nice in the Valley, a dinner that they'll remember. Enter: Orange Sky. Book reservations early, because I booked our reservation three weeks in advance and was not able to get a sunset seating time. We got there shortly after sunset, but looking out onto the Vallt and seeing all the lights was still beautiful. Our server was attentive, engaging, and funny. We asked for recommendations, and she felt comfortable enough to give her honest opinions, which I truly appreciate it. My Boulevardier cocktail was probably one of the strongest I've ever had, so I only needed one to last through dinner. Thank you I want to try a different kind of red meat, and the fact that elk was an option really excited me. I ordered it, medium rare, and was so happy that I did! If you're looking for a red meat alternative that's lean yet filling, definitely try elk. I was so happy to have a Caesar with egg, as I add egg to mine when I make them at home. And they even had anchovies (upon request)! The creamed spinach was a little too "organic" tasting for me: the spinach wasn't cooked down enough and the cream sauce lacked flavor. Yes! Yes! Yes! Don't think about it, just go. We went for my Hubs bday yesterday and was impressed from the moment I stepped off the elevator. The views were nothing short of amazing. Breathtaking, honestly. They sat us in a table facing the window so that we were able to enjoy the sunset, and OMG was it beautiful. I had the seabass and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. While many fine dining destinations will serve you a tiny slice of over priced steak and call it luxury, Orange Sky blew my expectations out of the water! I ordered the Ostrich with the fried brussels sprouts. While some may not find these offerings to be the most appealing, I am here to tell you to try them... they will speak for themselves. My complements to the chef! My date and I were given a private booth with a phenomenal sunset view that simply cannot be understated. The sunshade was set on an auto timer so the harsh sun was blocked until just before it was ready to set behind the mountains. The host staff were very diligent, but not in the least bit disruptive. We went to Orange sky for a work event. We had about 15 people with us. And they, for some reason would only let us order from a select menu. And they even gave us a hard time about giving us complementary bread that everyone else got in the restaurant, but for some reason since we were on unlimited menu, we weren't even allowed to have the free bread lol! My husband wanted to order Ostrich and just as he was about to order, another server walked by and told our server that there was no more ostrich! Had our server not taken so long to get our order he could have had it. We both had salmon and while not a unique dish, it was prepared excellently. My girlfriend and I had a date night at Orange Sky, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. We arrived right before the kitchen was about to close, and despite the late hour, Vicky at the host stand welcomed us with genuine warmth and kindness. We mentioned it was a special date night, and she went out of her way to make us feel welcome. That first impression set the tone for the entire evening. Our server, Anthony, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable about the menu, helped us pair wines with our entrées, and offered great recommendations on sides. Speaking of sides--the Brussels sprouts and cauliflower were absolutely incredible. Without exaggeration, they were two of the best side dishes I've had in years. As for the main course, I ordered the bone-in New York steak, and all I can say is wow. My girlfriend and I dine at a lot of high-end restaurants in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and this was honestly one of the best steaks I've had in a very long time--possibly the best in the last few years. Great concept, but execution fails at all levels. Ambiance: The views I am sure were great, before Top Golf went in and the bright lights take away from the view. The sunset was nice, but I can get about the same from my backyard. The "private" little booths are separated by cheap dividers, so you dont truly get an intimate experience for a romantic dinner. Food: Drinks are mixed well and my old fashioned came in a fancy fog "Smoked OF". Food on the other hand was mediocre at best. Prices are on par with Steak 44 and Ocean 44, quality is on par with Outback. Service: To get the "private booth" experience I think you have to confirm to a min spend of $200 (from what I recall). It's not an issue as everything on the menu for two with drink has you blowing over that range. With reservations, we still had to wait 15 min to go up and get seated. Overall service was ok, but not at the lever one would expect for a "high end" dining experience. Overall: This is only suitable for an engagement setting, no other event makes sense at this price and quality standpoint. read more

We were doing a single night staycation as locals and I actually intended to go to Tash but I wanted to grab a Rez. Orange Sky had tables open so I booked there after reading about the nice sunset view. From start to finish we enjoyed our meal. The server Lindsey was perfect. Ambiance was nice and relaxing. And food was very good. The flat iron steak is such an underrated cut of meat. It had some of the most flavor I've tasted in a cut of meat. And oysters were fantastic as well. I had the pleasure of eating at Orange Sky for my friend's birthday and it was a fabulous experience! For the price we paid, it was honestly worth every penny. We started off with a round of drinks and the cheese board and I thought the charcuterie selection was great. I loved my espresso martini as well. I ordered a steak, and we got the carrots and brussels sprouts to share. The brussels sprouts were a hit with the whole table! They were cooked perfectly, not soggy at all, and seasoned to perfection. The carrots were also fantastic, and not too sweet. My steak was cooked exactly the way I liked it and the sauce option I got paired amazingly. The service here was great, and we were really taken care of here. The view from our table was hard to beat-- definitely a highlight of the entire dinner. You can see so much of the Valley from the restaurant! The 50-day dry-aged steak was outstanding, the sea bass and halibut were perfectly cooked, and the Old Fashioned in a smoke cage was a fun touch. I decided to give 4 stars (the experience was 2-3 stars when we arrived and later became 4 star). Hostess attitude was frosty at best. We asked if we could be seated a bit early and she snootily said they're busy. At our reservation time, we again asked to be seated and she again told us to sit down and she would get to us. Finally we were seated. The dining room wasn't busy at all. Not a great first impression for service. The views from the bar and the dining room are stunning. The sun began setting at the tail end of our dinner and that was very beautiful. The food was really good. I split a NY strip and a lobster tail with one of my friends, the other had a sampler platter of interesting and unusual meats, like ostrich. Very delicious! Today we had Mars and Felipe taking care of us, they are both very friendly and attentive. I was very impressed by both of them. Our drinks were never empty and we were checked on the perfect amount of times. I love how everyone works as a team here to take care of their customers. Although it was a busy night our food came out fairly quickly and was hot when it was brought to our table by Lindsay (she is great too!). Amazing food, amazing views!! We received a gift card to Orange Sky a couple years ago and never had a chance to use it, but finally made a reservation and we were so impressed! Our reservation was at 7:15 but went early to watch the sunset in their lounge and it was beautiful. The food was delicious - they came out first with the bread basket - the butter was delicious. Then we started with the roasted beets and burrata. The roasted golden beets paired so well with the creamy burrata and toasted baguette. My husband ordered the flat iron steak, which was delicious and perfectly cooked and tender. I ordered the chicken sausage pasta - the homemade pasta was perfectly cooked. We picked the roasted spicy brussel sprouts - perfectly spicy but not too much so - and the corn cake. Because it was our anniversary (and we were expecting), we got a delicious dessert - a chocolate and peanut butter semifreddo. It was perfectly rich with the chocolate ganache over the frozen peanut butter center. Had a reservation for Orange Sky that I so much wanted to enjoy for my husbands's 74th birthday on June 19th. Only good part of the meal was the views, that's it. Sat at the first bar at the reception area waiting for our friends, asked for blue cheese stuffed olives and was told it took to much time and therefore they didn't have them, ordered two Kettle One's on the rocks, not cheap. Then our friends joined and we were taken to our table with a beautiful view. My friend asked for Blue Cheese stuffed olives and yes, we have them. That was the end of it. I couldn't eat the meatballs, way to salty and mushy in the center, terrible and the server's attendend took them away and also took my fork and knife even though I wan't done eating the terrible beet salad. OMG. Don't go here, it's not worth the money and none at our table would recommend to anyone, sad since I had high hopes for this place. Must be all the High Rollers that eat there for nothing. I was expecting much better of both. I've dined at Orange Sky in the past and enjoyed it so when I was staying at the hotel, it was a no brainer to eat here to celebrate our 1st anniversary. Pros 1. Nice of them to give us a free chocolate dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary. It was the best tasting thing of the entire meal. 2. Beautiful views especially on the patio. 3. Bread basket was good. Cons 1. Sea bass was fishy smelling, definitely more than a fresh piece of fish should be. 2. All of the food looked really good, but didn't taste nearly as good as it looked. 3. Almost everything was under and overcooked. For example, the sea bass was overcooked on the ends but the center was undercooked. Same thing with the ribeye- part of it was done medium and a large portion of it was rare. Ribeye is typically fattier but this cut had excessive amounts of fat throughout. 3. The carrots were tasty except more than half of them were undercooked and too crunchy. 4. Undercooked chayote squash tasted more like the texture of apple slices. 5. Server was sweet but so was her very heavy application of perfume. 6. Cocktail sauce tasted like straight ketchup. Definitely needed some doctoring up with more horseradish and lemon. read more

The food and service are always phenomenal. The views are incredible. Recently here for Thanksgiving (second year celebrating here for turkey day ) and it was top notch.
