Lomo Saltado with a twist!!! The potatoes are crispy fries on the side. This is the first time I have had it on the aide. It keeps the fries crispy and the bottom ones are still soaking the lovely sauce. The beef and is marinated in a Peruvian brandy. strips are tender and seared to perfection. I am strangely reminded of the sauce of Hainanese pork chop. Come to find out from Carlo's that Peruvian food has a strong Chinese influence. Fried plantains. The tostones is a savory dish. Twice fried. First, the plantain chips are fried. Then they are smashed and fried again. The flavor is subtle. Andes is unique. It represents the mountains of Peru. The flavor and texture of their Aji De Gallina is something in itself. It cannot be described. The texture and content of the ingredients can, but not the taste. Aji De Gallina is made of shredded chicken covered in a thick cream sauce. It's seasoned with ingredients I cannot identify. The creme sauce is very rich. The flavor is mild but full. It included potatoes and rice. It's enough for at least two meals. Asian noodle dishes were served as part of Los Andes offering. It appeared to be spaghetti, soy sauce and coarsely cut vegetables. The restaurant is clean. Its bathrooms are too. There is no loud music playing, maybe none at all. As a member of a group of seven Andes assessed an 18% service charge. The service was good, but I'd rather be the one to make that decision. Why must they fine me for walking in with six other customers. This one will get five stars for all of you going in groups of less than 5. If you go with a large group, take away a star. Okay, let me break this down. I am Peruvian- born there and raised there part of my childhood. So when I go to Peruvian restaurants, I expect that our food is represented accordingly. Unfortunately, the food here was a disappointment. Our rice was hard- it felt as if had been over heated for days. As a matter of fact, all four of our meals had left over taste. We thought we were being pranked... food felt like they had gotten it out of the fridge, smacked it on plates, and stuck it in the microwave. As for flavor, it had potential. Service: our waitress was not as friendly. I believe we were so disappointed with the food experience that it just felt like the entire experience itself was not okay. Amazing! I went to Peru this past March and saved some Peruvian places on Yelp to try after that! Today I was on the west side and knew I had to try this place. I got saltado de vegetales. It has vegetables, rice, and fries in a delicious sauce. I ate it all so quickly, it was so delicious. Peruvian fried rice sounds good too, I tried that when I was in Peru and liked it so I'd be curious to try it from here too! A little pricey but it's a lot of food and worth it. I'm so torn about my review. While the food was good and good portions the service was far from good. We placed an order online on Mother's Day for pick up at 4 and got a confirmation email and our credit card was charged. I had a family member arrive to pick up the food and he was gaslighted by staff saying that the order didn't exist. After we sent him the confirmation the staff changed their tune and said that they just located it. Well after almost an hour after the scheduled pick up time we received the food. They didn't do anything to make it right. No partial refund, no coupon for next time nothing. It's like they didn't care at all that they made a big mistake and we just had to deal with it. Like I said chicken was great, sides were also tasty. Sauce left a little to be desired. Very vinegar forward. But due to the poor service we received we won't be coming back. read more

I went to Miami and had the best South American cuisine. When I got back to Phoenix, I craved it but found that there aren't very many here. I found Andes via Yelp and popped in one night. It wasn't busy cause I think they were closing in an hour so I got my order and food in. I had already known what I wanted cause I looked up their menu and the dish I was craving for -- lomo saltado. Basically, beef, egg, rice, plantains. Over here, they add fries and hotdog. I didn't care for those. The rest was good. It wasn't exactly the same but it'll do. The lomo saltado was good but way overpriced. It was the price of a more upscale restaurant. The prices on the menu in the pictures on Yelp are certainly outdated prices. If I'm not mistaken, the price was $20 or over. I also got tallerines verdes with steak. The noodles didn't have much flavor. I make them better, in my opinion. The steak was gross. I would not order this again. It was heavily peppered and just had an odd taste to it. I'm not sure if the waitress was just trying to not pressure us or what, but it did take a while to receive our bill. She was constantly cleaning the other tables making and kept not making eye contact, making it harder to request the bill. I think that they generally don't speak English here, either. Not a problem for me, but could make things difficult for those that don't speak Spanish! There are may also not be the best, as immediately when we were pulling out of the shopping center, we saw two barely 18 year old prostitutes. read more

The chef has been awarded a few recognitions and you can tell. I read that he started Tumu Peruvian restaurant and I had visited back when he owned it. This is authentic and delicious Peruvian cuisine with the details that make it distinct. The salsa criolla and flavors will bring out the Limeño in you. The lomo saltado is the best I have had. it was so good I forgot to take a picture of it. The beef was tender and the french fries were perfectly crispy. The seco reminded me of our friend's Peruvian mother and how she used to cook when we lived in Peru. The beans and the sauce were delicious. The chicha morada (purple drink) is made from the purple corn and not from a packet. I highly recommend this small restaurant and I hope it does well. read more

We ordered two beef Saltados and one Cowboy (same thing but with a hot dog and fried plantains). All were delicious! The seasonings were tasty, perfect, and evoked memories of our trip to Ecuador. We found this place online while searching Peruvian restaurants and decided to give it a try. The flavors are absolutely amazing! We ordered Arroz Con Mariscos and the Chaufa de Carne. The only thing that highly disappointed is in the lack of seafood in the Mariscos dish. We got 2 clams, both were just the shell and no clam and 2 mussels, one being empty. 3 shrimp and just a few small baby scallops and octopus pieces.
