My favorite kebab restaurant in Burbank...and that is saying a lot, since Burbank has many kebab eateries! I have never been disappointed with the food or service. The lamb ribs is eat-off-the-bone good. The chicken thigh kebabs are perfectly cooked and tasty. Love this place and their wait staff. read more

YUMMY!!! and so convenient that its right across work! I absolutely love this place and the service is wonderful too! Their Lule kabob is amazing! read more

WOW. I got the Greek salad with beef on top and wow is all I can say. This place is amazing, you can tell they use quality stuff. 6/5 stars. Can't wait to go back and try their other delicious meals they have read more

The hummus is fantastic, although my friends with huge Armenian families claim that it's not the BEST they've had, they do indeed find it to be very delicious. I recommend practically any of the chicken dishes, I love the way they prepare it. Very friendly service. read more

This restaurant is in an odd spot... on a strange street behind train tracks and next to a marine repair shop. When we went for dinner, we were the only folks in this place... we had it all to ourselves. Too bad, because the food was very good. The eggplant caviar was a great starter-- cold eggplant mashed with spices and served with fresh pita bread. The Green salad was pretty standard-- nothing special-- but the chicken kabobs and grape leaves were delicious. Service was a little on the slow side, despite the fact that my friend and I were the only ones in the place, but the woman who waited on us (I believe it was the owner) was nice and tried to help us in her broken English on recommendations. read more

For dinner my son & I were craving Armenian food but didn't want to drive to far. So hoped on the internet & searched. Found this Lil hole in the wall. I have driven pass it so many times never noticed it before. I must admit I was disappointed :( Greek salad had no flavor, beef kabob very under cooked, rice & pepper OK. Small portion for the price. Needless to say we will not be returning. Now I know why the place was empty & why I never noticed it before. read more

Best eggplant caviar I have ever had. Homemade from scratch. Actually everything is really good. Best kept secret on Burbank

This is probably one of the best Middle Eastern Restaurants I have had in all of SoCal, highly recommend the chicken breast and the cucumber yogurt. read more

Best quality food with best prices. I eat here at least twice a week. Just not much to say must try to appreciate.

Came home from a long day at the hospital with my mom and didn't feel like cooking so hit up yelp for some cheap delivery options. This restaurant popped up and we were feeling Middle Eastern so we called up and ordered a chicken and beef lule plate, and some hummus with extra pita bread. The flavors were awesome, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the hummus was some of the best I've ever had! My only critique would be that I wish the package of Pita that was given would have been heated up, but it's minor when delivery was fast and friendly and the food was delicious! This will be one of my new go-to spots in Burbank! read more

By far one of my favorite places to eat in all of burbank! i eat here at least once a week and I am never disappointed. Excellent quality food at a fairly low price. The beef lule is amazing and always goes great with an Armenian coffee! read more

This place is a block away from my work, many of our employees eat there, and still no one has gotten sick of this place . When it first opened I was skeptical, as the restaurants that were in the space before were super shady laundering-type places. Thankfully the good people of Tonir finally took over this space, as this was the exact restaurant we needed by our offices. I always have the same thing when I order, chicken breast kabob. I crave this dish that I've even driven out from Sherman Oaks on a weekend to pick it up. Tonir has a wonderful staff and a wonderful family vibe. They always greet me by my first name when I come in. I hope they continue to be successful. Oh, and try the jalapeño hummus. VERY good. read more

I had guests so based on the reviews I decided to order food from this restaurant. Unfortunately the food was TERRIBLE. I think the reviews are fake. I will never order from this place. Ordered almost everything that was on the menu, and I can't even name one that was mediocre, all of them were bad. Definitely the worst Mediterranean/Armenian food I have ever had. read more

Mommy approved! It's a classy family friendly resturant where you can really enjoy your food and company. My 3 year old loves coming here too, and I don't have to worry about us feeling rushed out. The customer service is EXCELLENT, always with a friendly sincere smile. The portions are huge and extremly affordable. Its a great place to either take the family or for some adult time for some friendly FREE pool game! Your taste buds will savor every tasty dish. Wow I'm craving it now. Guess where I'm going tonight for dinner. lol read more

A great find right by my work thank God there is something to eat in this area!

We ordered takeout 2 beef lulu & 1 beef skewer just by itself and they were tiny i mean less than 6" and it cost us $14. Way overpriced! Go to Cafe Bravo instead for $14 I would of got way more meat. The guy over the phone told me I should of got double but because we said "A la carte" they gave us less. Makes no sense ..we told him only skewers Ah la carte as in no side dishes. Way way overpriced. .. read more

I think this place is a great deal with great food for this area. Inside interior and the service could have been better. But regarding the food don't change anything. 5 stars anyways read more

Went with a large group and decided to try the Family dinner along with some hummus and yogurt cucumber. It was absolutely delicious!!! All of us left there completely full and even had leftovers. Never once was a single glass on our table even close to empty, and the man serving us was delightfully friendly. read more

i am a fan! came here last night for a late dinner. it was not exactly hard to locate but the surrounding area as well as the restaurant itself are quite unassuming. we were the only table there at the time, and were waited on very quickly by a friendly staff. we shared a plate of hummus (with unlimited pita that my boyfriend simply could not resist) and greek salad (saucier and a bit more kick than the ones that i was used to, but still delicious). i ordered the hot plate with chicken breast, with the roasted tomato and eggplant caviar. the chicken breast was simply amazing. the chunks were well prepared, nicely cooked, juicy, tender, flavor, and not overwhelming at all. the eggplant caviar has a nice smokey flavor that gives it full body flavor, but pleasantlyly light in texture. the roasted tomato was bit burned on the outside, but the juicy inner was nicely preserved. the most practical noteworthy feature of this place would be its affordability. i wish i had this when i was in college. thumbs up! read more

I usually get food to go here for dinner. This time stopped by for lunch. Had jalapeno hummus, eggplant caviar and chicken lula kebab with salad. Everything was fresh and tasty. Great place. read more

Great family style Middle Eastern food, in a funky industrial locale. Tasty kabob platters that appear to be grilled out back by dad. Creamy hummus, excellent tabbouleh. Eggplant/pepper entree is uniquely interesting. Grilled green pepper is always a great touch. Good variety of beer on tap. Big TVs showing soccer and odd talk shows. All in a trip, a real "trip" out to eat at good value. read more

4 stars only because of location. Where is this place? I got lost trying to find it. I was soooo hungry and so beyond frustrated. I called and the poor lady who had to deal with my frazzled self and she stayed on the phone with me and directed me until I got to the place. Got home and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken breast kabob plate was sooooo yummy. The hummus is soooo good and fresh, the rice cooked to fluffy perfection and maybe I was starving but I was so pleased!!!! Give this place a try! If you're ordering more than $15 worth, save yourself the hassle of trying to find this place and opt for free delivery. I will be back! Good food, nice staff, great prices! read more

I've never had Armenian food before coming here. We picked a great place to start!. I had the combo chicken and beef sish. With rice and salad it was more than filling. The spices on the kabobs was fabulous. Family run with pleasant staff. We'll be back for certain. read more

We order out from here easily three times a week. Basically whenever we aren't cooking. It's the best hummus in the world, and the chicken is always moist. It's the best Mediterranean food in the city, no lie. And SO cheap! read more

I saw the 4 1/2 star Yelp rating which led to my decision to take my friend to Tonir Cafe for his introduction to Armenian cuisine. He had ordered the chicken and beef combo (kabobs) and I ordered the chicken and beef lulu combo. On my friend's very first bite, he was surprisingly amazed on how chicken can taste that good. The waitress said their chicken kabob was their specialty and by the reaction from my friend, I could see why. The chicken and beef lule was also seasoned to perfection and the portions are generous. The menu prices are very reasonable too. This restaurant is a diamond in the rough in an industrial location. It's a keeper. read more

Really excellent kabob and comfort food for me. Growing up in Glendale, I always crave a specific kind of kabob, and these guys definitely nail it. It's located at an odd and industrial area near the train tracks (luckily I work nearby), but don't let that fool you. The food is really fantastic! I only order to-go, so not sure how the experience is when you dine in. The 5 stars is for the food and value. Love that they have an easy low carb option as well - I always order grilled tomato, salad, chicken shish kabob and hummus. Perfection. read more

We picked my sister up from Burbank airport tonight, and we wanted something yummy and non-chain to eat for dinner. I looked through Yelp, and found this place, which was the highest rated nearby. We love Armenian food, so we thought this would be an excellent opportunity. The restaurant itself is lovely - hidden in an industrial area, but the inside is quite nice, with linens, cloth napkins, and really nice bathrooms. The server was very nice as well. Prices were excellent - can't beat it! We ordered hummus and pickled beets to start. The hummus and pita were just blah. No real flavor, and no olive oil added. We felt a jolt of garlic would help., and the pita was thin and cold. The beets had a weird tang that I couldn't get past. We ordered three different dishes - the proteins were all great - beef and chicken, and I ordered chicken breast, and the breast was cooked perfectly, not dried out at all, so that is a definite plus. But the sides again lacked flavor. I want to say this was a decent dinner - there was not a single awful thing. We might even stop by again if we're hungry in Burbank. It's just we have had better. (If you find yourself in the Santa Clarita Valley, Sam's Flaming Grill is the bomb. It has spoiled us for Armenian food!) read more

This place is so good. Weird location but who cares when the food is so tasty! Yummmmmm. Suggestion: Veggie Plate read more

Great food and ambiance. Don't let the outside or location fool you. Great homely feel inside with wonderful service.

I have been here a few times and it is just phenomenal. Really cheap (you get a huge plate of food for 7 or 8 dollars with sides), outstanding taste. I have had the pork, lamb, hummus, chicken and various sides and everything was spot on. I go every single time I am nearby! read more

I concur with all the reviews, good stuff. I order family meals delivered when i have guest coming its always a big hit. Never actually ate and sat here. read more

Great food, friendly staff. I usually make bbq at home, but if I'm ordering out, it has to be from Tonir. Meat is always cooked to perfection, and is always fresh! Thank you for a great meal always! read more

This places is our go to Friday lunch. We order the family style Lamb, ground chicken, ground beef, and pork ribs

I've been looking for an affordable, flavorful Mediterranean spot in Burbank... and this did not disappoint. The chicken shish kabob is definitely the way to go... tender, juicy, and cooked really well done/crispy. The green salad is extremely flavorful and add so much to the dish. The yogurt and cucumber dip is one of the best I ever had... Eggplant was good, not great. Overall, HIGHLY recommend - and the staff seems super friendly and accommodating. Definitely coming back soon. read more

The food is spectacular; the service is excellent!! I had the beef shish plate with dolmas, my dad had the chicken pita, and we tried the jalapeño hummus - it was ALL outstanding. At the end, I couldn't decide whether I wanted my last bite to be beef or dolma; it was that good! Servers were polite and helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!! read more

The food was amazing, the service was even better. All at a crazy reasonable price. Do your tastebuds a solid and pay them a visit.

Not sure if it was just bad luck on this one ocassion, or if I am used to better kabobs in this area (am blessed with many kabab options in Burbank). In any case, Tonir didnt do it for me. I tried the chicken breast kabab and the shish kabab. Both were a-ok, as yelp would have me say. Not something I will be dying to go back to. read more

Excellent food. We ordered from Eat 24 and rather than the usual high in quantity low in quality Middle Eastern affair - we had a good portion and a great flavour. Chicken Lule and chicken Shish were great. Delivery was quick. read more

My coworkers dug the proteins available, I instead had ordered the vegetarian options - grape leaves, tabbouleh, greek salad, hummous and rice. Sorry, not tasty to my buds to my Middle Eastern standards. The service was nice though! Maybe next time I'll try the kebob. read more
