Although it was really hot in the establishment due to ac issues, the food kind of made up for it. the hash is normally crab, however, they ran out of crab and used shrimp. the shrimp was okay but i'm intrigued to see how the crab tastes next time. the french toast was decent but left a lot to be desired. it really reminded me of regular toast with a dash of sweetness more than anything. the latte though!? amazing. i really enjoyed it and our waiter was super sweet so that made the experience more enjoyable. i would frequent again to try something different on the menu read more

I added myself to the waitlist around 30 mins before I arrived and was able to be seated around 10 mins after arriving. Our server was nice and came to check up on us around 2-3 times. My friends got the cappuccino and French toast latte both of the drinks were delicious and came out very quick. I ordered the Irish Eggs Benedict and it was a decent portion size. My bf got the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and said it was good. We were so full that we couldn't get any desserts. Also ask for a container if you have left overs! Unfortunately, Toast was not socially distanced on the second floor. It was very crowded and I could barely hear my own conversation. I've been here a few good times and I've always enjoyed the food. My go to order here is their Bella Nutella french toast because..well, Nutella! Their challah french toast is very well made too. Not soggy at all. I used to keep pairing it with chocolate milk but now that I've learned they have green tea latte I might start switching hehe I wasnt able to give this place a 5 start because my husband ordered smoked salmon benedicts and when it came it wasnt as warm as he wanted it to be. The server did a fantastic job of keeping up with everyone's orders and the food runners were also fast and friendly. I ordered the Spinach, Feta, Mushroom Omelet with egg whites and no feta, and a matcha latte. Everything came out hot and my order was correct. Everything tasted good. The matcha was definitely culinary grade but drinkable. In the past I've tried the Bananas Foster French Toast and that was phenomenal. Our food temperature was between room temp and cold when it arrived at the table, but we were super hungry so we didn't send anything back. My tofu scramble was drowned in turmeric, making it over seasoned and difficult to eat. The cinnamon rolls were ok but were a far cry from the moist and fluffy ones we had here three years ago. My husband's omelet was cold but he said it tasted ok. He really liked the coffee. The service was slow and not notably kind. We went early so it was quiet and clean. I don't think the heat was on high enough. But also dining is not what it used to be because of the pandemic. I used the hand sanitizer that was downstairs before the stairs as there isn't sanitizer provided at the table, and it was quicker than using the bathroom to wash my hands. However, there were a lot of people and the wait was around 30 minutes or so so my boyfriend and I had our names placed on their private Yelp waitlist and decided to hang out at Whole Foods across the street before our meal. Take note there is no parking lot so just street parking, municipal nearby, or Whole Foods if you take the risk. I ordered the Salmon + Taylor Ham Egg Benedict, a short stack of buttermilk pancakes, and hot Mocha Latte. The wait was not long for our food and we were checked up on a few times which was really nice :). The egg benedicts were made perfectly and tasted good along with the Louisiana hot sauce that was on the table. The buttermilk pancakes were to die for! My boyfriend and I both wanted egg Benedict dishes but we heard from reviews that the pancakes were amazing so we had to order a short stack. They were so fluffy and buttery delicious goodness!!! I highly recommend coming at least once for the brunch and to try something new on their menu. We were sat in their cozy second floor and the place was busy and alive with plates clattering and syrup being poured over stacks of carbs. We decided on a stack of strawberry pancakes that were at best made from a box mix. I think the Motel 8 uses the same mix, it was bad. To top it off, they use cheap syrup (not honey or maple syrup) so there is nothing redeeming except for the fresh fruit. Then there is the king of the bad choices, which was the huevos rancheros. It was eggs on a the soggiest tostada, with the most watery beans you have ever seen. Then comes the kicker....I ordered it with sausage, assuming it would come with chorizo (mexican sausage) as it does in literally every place I have ordered this famous plate...welp it came with American sausage. I know this is a matter of preference so do you. This plate is also very small, and I was literally still hungry at the end of our meal. Was honestly stressful and not relaxing like brunch should be. I got a spinach, mushroom, feta omelette and had requested to substitute feta for broccoli. Toast is a restaurant I have been to many times, and always with success. However, I'm just writing to say how disappointed I was with the corned beef Benedict. I've never had a Benedict where the sauce was served in a side bowl and served cold. (And I had two of those bowls, both cold.) The amount of corned beef on top of the English muffin was huge, and actually not in balance for the dish. I did think the corned beef itself was tasty, but my poached eggs were hard, not runny at all, and so the corned beef was dry. Our table started with the cinnamon rolls, unfortunately these were dry and could've used more icing and for $6 you only receive 3 small rolls. We really liked the Crab Hash which is a bed of roasted potatoes, egg, crab meat and some vegetables. The place has a rustic feel inside almost like a barn but nicer. I ordered challah French toast with Canadian bacon. So satisfying two thick slabs of sugar dusted challah with butter and maple syrup. The corned beef hash was legit and uses real corned beef. It was a lot of potatoes though, between the potatoes in the hash and the side of hash brown potatoes. The crab hash wasn't bad but would probably try something else next time. Carrot cake pancake tasted just like carrot cake. No complaints about the service. Firstly, GOOD lattes are hard to come by! This place has it!! Came here with a friend for Saturday brunch and OH I am so glad I did. We added ourselves to the waitlist via Yelp prior, to avoid a long wait time. Parking in Montclair is a hit or miss. You can either park far and walk or be fortunate enough to find decent parking close by if lot parking isn't provided. I did find free street parking around the corner. We waited about an additional 20 mins for a table. The place was packed and lives were forming but calmed down as the afternoon rolled around. We were seated upstairs in the back which was nice and away from crowded areas. The place was pretty good in terms of social distancing. Our waiter was very pleasant and quick with our order. The menu had so many options we couldn't choose! We kept looking at orders that came out of the kitchen; shocked of how good they looked! Lol but we settled on French toast, pancakes, an omelette, and VERY delicious lattes (Caramel and Vanilla). I love how pancakes are offered in short stacks and single just in case you have a smaller appetite; very convenient for me. My eggs were cooked perfectly and my my omelette was great!
