I love driving out to this T.J Maxx for some shopping therapy. Nice selections of purses, shoes and jewelry. The prices are moderate. I'm just a little upset that they discontinued the layaway plan. I was just in (5/18/2024 @8:30pm) with my sister looking for graduation shoes, when one weird female comes up to us saying "you have to clean up after yourself or you'll get kicked out of the store" mind you we were sitting down trying on two pairs of Sandals which were still with us. If we were rude or throwing shoes I understand but she came to us pretty aggressively without any nice attitude. She was wearing all black, bold eyebrows and pony tail so we didn't buy anything and went to dsw what a disappointment and ugly customer service. The Christmas decor in my house is very few and seems to be lacking to achieve a Christmas vibe. So I came here again cause I like its quality. They have a lot of decor where you can choose. I bought my Christmas tree here. The quality was good compared to my Christmas tree last year. I bought a lot of decor including Christmas lights and some dwarves. Aside from that I also bought a mug because it was what my wife wanted. She will give it to her friends. I chose a different mug design. I took a picture of it and sent it to my wife if she would like it. The plain wite mug with some mini design she chose. I bought it and the price was cheap. It also has a good quality and it looks durable. I highly recommend this place. read more

I always love coming to this location. They have a great selection to choose from in every department. My mom and I always go home with something no matter what lol. I also like when the holidays come out cause the decor is amazing and so cute. And we always find the best mugs. We're kind of collectors of the cool and unique lol. But we dont have any complaints and the employees are always friendly. Def recommend. read more

I have found great product here a long time ago but now this store is horrible. The customer service is the worst! The people who work in the jewelry section are miserable. And the manager christine does nothing to help the situation. Instead she tries to see if you want to open a credit card. She is just as bad as all the others that work there. This location i was not happy with. The store itself is smaller and the service here was very slow. I ran in to grab something on a Thursday evening. The place was packed with people and the check out line was really long. There were only three lines open and for some reason each customer took so long to check out. I had enough time in the line to look at every single last minute item that they sell in the checkout line. Was a little upset cuz I didn't have too much time and spent more time in the line than shopping. In general I love TJMAXX. It's awesome and it has everything you need. I did find everything I was looking for in that visit but I wasn't happy with the service they provided. I heard a lot of people in the line also commenting on how long it was taking for the line to go through and that there's only a couple chasers open when they have 10 windows. And dress was only 39.99...not some designer item.Ccoordinator ,who was staying from beginning process,said "this is not same dress"I said it's exactly same dress which I both 5 days ago.You see my receipt you see bar code on the tag.I both this dress in your store.She was so root,so ignorant.I said you have security cameras,check those.She answered to me "i amI am not checking cameras and not taking this dress back."I tryied to explained again about purchasing those item and possibility to proof about it by checking cameras.But she ignorant.So i taking further actions. read more

I am the queen of bargain shopping, and am no stranger to picking through lotsa junk to get to treasure. But damn. I hate this store, I really do. Not so much for the store itself but for the clientele it apparently attracts, and the lack of buying/shopping etiquette that they apparently possess. I can think of NO other store, chain or other-wise, where the majority of its goods are used, opened, stained, marked, broken, or in otherwise less-than-brand-sparkly new condition. This would be fine if TJ Maxx were a resale shop, but it is not. Right? Right? I mean, the premise of this establishment is that you go in there to buy a NEW item. Right? Right??? Seriously. Makeup stains, holes and ripped seams on clothing. That alone kills my shopping buzz. But couple with that, the fact that EVERY. SINGLE. BEAUTY. PRODUCT. HAS. BEEN. OPENED. I can't help it. Call it a sense of entitlement but I expect my stuff to be NEW and nothing makes me seethe and see red more than this annoying factor that again, seems unique to TJ Maxx/Marshalls. People, if you want testers, go to Sephora, go to Ulta, sample to your heart's content. Paying full retail price DOES entitle you to such action. But when you visit an off-price retail establishment that sells last year's surplus, enjoy the deep discounts and take a chance and BUY the item. Take it home. Use it to your heart's content. Just don't usurp on MY shopping experience, because I have manners and would never do that crap to YOU. So if my problem is with the patrons of TJ Maxx, why am I giving the actual store the paltry stars? Easy. They have got a security camera installed on every square foot of ceiling it seems. If they cannot use this system or their employees to STOP the very things I am complaining about - or at least seriously improve it - then my problem becomes with the store itself. And the volume of missing items and empty boxes thrown on bottom shelves indicate to me that their methods of loss prevention clearly are not working. read more

Ridiculously awful customer service at this location. I had gone in a fee days after a purchase with my items and receipt still fresh in the original bag. I told Selena behind the register I would not need my money back, but I would like store credit (as I had other items to purchase). She then has the nerve to tell me I didn't have the right receipt! I had the right receipt, the only receipt and the one attached to the items it in the bag that is also the same receipt linked to my banking used for that transaction! Now I'm starting to count and keep myself calm as I am tired and have kids and this is supposed to be an easy transaction right.. she continues to have an attitude, raising her voice as if she is above me in some way as a store employee and says "nope can't give you nothing without the right receipt". Super professional! At that point I calmly said I need to speak with your supervisor, this woman has an attitude as if I was crazy and the supervisor wouldn't do anything. So she walls away to go get the supervisor. Well guess what?! This Selena not so Gomez comes walling back with half her sass and tells me, the supervisor said to honor it... but she says this is just a one time thing! What planet is this woman on?! I said nothing to this awful employee, I acted as if she was invisible while she finally did her job. I laughed and said some people are crazy and I guess don't keep your receipts because they are no good here. Even my child was laughing at that type of behavior. Goes to show how some people think they have power over anything as silly as it can be and they try to use it. There was no issue from The beginning, yet she wanted to make one and in the end she had to do what she should have to start with! Not today lady, not today! Go home! I like this TJ Maxx, they have enough variety for a relatively small store. Lines do get overwhelming at times so unfortunately I sometimes have to abandon my potential purchases. Some of the staff are really petty and definitely not customer service experienced but the majority are fine. Again for a small store I can usually find what I need (and then some.) You can find some great designer finds here but the prices are still through the roof and I've finally figured out how they "buy" the items to bring them to this store - they buy them at clearance prices at designer boutiques and then mark them up about 20%. Since it's still below the original value, it's considered a "deal". If you know anything about the Oak Brook area, you know it's a very well-to-do, higher income community. That's why I'd expect the store to be less ghetto. It is not uncommon to get rude service here and hear crying children that should already be in bed. Their toddlers are standing on their feet next to them wailing, while they look through the clothes as though that's more important than properly taking care of their little ones. If you want to feel low class, you found your place because you'll fit right in. But occasionally you may score a great deal once they mark the item down to the original clearance price they purchased it for in the first place. read more

If you're a bargain shopper like me than this is your place. Wait, I should correct that. If you're a bargain shopper and a patient, have time on your hand shopper, than this is your place. My girlfriend always tells me she finds great bargains here, but I always cringe because of the mess and lack of organizations T.J. Maxx and Marshalls normally have, however needing new tops I decided to give it a try since I didn't want to spend a fortune. I got a nice Calvin Klein career halter top for only $15 and two other tops for $10/each. I've worn 2 of the 3 and really like them. The quality is good for the price and they're cute to dress up or down. They also have really cute dresses at discounted prices and there's a great home selection and designer bags. Also everything is pretty organized, it might not be pretty has a Macy's or Carson's but if you just look you can find a good bargain here. The cashier was extremely friendly and you can return anything even with a yellow (most discounted) tag! Kudos! I'll definitely be a repeated customers. read more

This store has a really great selection, however, it's a bit strange; it has about 90% of the usual "Home Goods" wares, but then it's missing a few of the key items. I couldn't quite wrap my head around it. I realize that sounds funny, but basically they have items that most people won't ever buy and are lacking the ones more likely to sell. I love tj maxx and will will.always continue to shop here... the staff is wonderful and helpful. Only downfall Is the parking on the weekends. After attempting to return a very expensive handbag to the Lemont TJMaxx unsuccessfully, the manager of the Oakbrook location accepted the return. I was treated rudely at the Lemont location by the manager, Esther, but the manager at Oakbrook was very reasonable and they could see that the bag was defective. There's never any excuse to accept being treated with rudeness in any store. My review of my bad experience at the Lemont store is posted on Yelp as well. read more

This is probably my favorite TJ Maxx location in all of the Chicago suburbs! Dedicate a solid hour (or two) and you will find some treasures at incredible prices! This location is nice, because it has a runway section, which means like legit designer items at TJ Maxx scaled prices! YAY! The store can get messy, and sometimes picked over, but with time you will find some great deals! The women's department, home store, shoe section and accessories are all better than other locations I have been to. The staff is great, very helpful and kind. Be sure to stop here when you are in the area, or make a special trip. It is so worth it! read more

I had an awful experience at this store. The manager, Stephanie, was taking care of me at the counter. I had a return of clothes I purchased online. I pulled up my order confirmation (the only email receipt I received). She kept telling me, rudely, that I have to have an actual receipt and the order confirmation is not enough. I told her I have done multiple returns with just the order number, she then got frustrated and inputted the order # into her system and my order pulled up. She then told me that since I used Apple Pay online, that I couldn't get a refund, only a store credit (another first for me) She then started taking out my items and noticed some were missing the bags they came in, but had tags attached. She told me that because I didn't have the bags that they came in, this would take forever. I felt awful standing at the counter, feeling like an INCONVENIENCE for her. I then told her that I'll go to a different TJ Max since she has no idea what she's doing. I packed my stuff up and went to the TJ Maxx in Downers grove and they took care of me from start to finish in 5 mins. Pulled up my order number, inputted the items returned, and gave me a full refund to my card - no store credit! read more

The best tjmaxx I've been to yet in terms of higher-end brand selection. Stella McCartney, Balenciaga, Missoni, etc. Valentino pants on clearance for $30. Missoni tights for $15. Large leather Longchamp bag for $400ish. Some cute Rag & Bone bags. Men's selection is poor though, some horribly ugly Versace and Hugo Boss graphic t-shirts. read more

Nice store, good selection of lower to high end products. I like to stop in here if shopping at the other stores in the strip mall but find it no better than the Countryside location. It's fun to look around and discover some of the deals- I found a vera wang perfume for $35 that is $80 at Ulta and dry shampoo that I ordered online only here in this store. So I call them and they told me that bc I didn't have a receipt I couldn't return it. I'm pretty familiar with 90% of the TJ's that are west of 294. That being said, this particular location has the most high-end brands of all the TJ Maxx's that I frequent. My wife got a pair of Prada boots for $5 from here. Wtf? They were on yellow clearance(refer to my other TJ Maxx review for more info). They also have Michele and Movado watches and all kinds of other goodies that the other locations don't carry. The only two problems with this particular store are that the parking lot gets real small on the weekends, and that the clientele that shop here can be a bit annoying. I'm talking about no-English speaking, hit you with their cart, grab every pair of tall boots and purses, reaching for clothes on the rack that happen to be in front of your face people. You know the type? I know you do....and you know who you are! For all the annoyingness that this store has to offer, the amazing deals are more than enough to tip the scales in favor of a "shop here" verdict. Conveniently located near Nordstrom Rack and DSW, nearly adjacent to Costco, and down the street from Oak Brook Center. read more

I was so over TJ Maxx and Marshall's, swearing never to venture into one ever again. Then a friend wanted to stop by, having heard that they had some couture stuff that was better than the picked over junk at too many outlet stores. Not 2 minutes into the first rack, I found a Tory Burch skirt I debated over and decided not to buy at the Tory Burch store on Oak, originally for $275, on sale at TJ Maxx for a cool $29.00. Granted, there were 3 higher price tags behind the magical 29, but what I paid is what it is. I'll definitely be back in the near future. read more

I will not be coming to this location again. Never been treated so poorly at any tjmaxx I have been to. The same employee stole my cart to return to the front of the store TWICE. The second time it had a book in it and I had to search the shelves to find where she stuck it (not even back in the right aisle). When I asked for it back she was very rude and did not apologize, told me I have to have it with me at all times. So even when the aisles have ten people in them on a Saturday afternoon I am supposed to run them over so that I can keep my own without it getting taken away? Makes NO SENSE. Then I get to the front to pay and there are over 10 carts sitting there. What was the point? read more

I'm surprised by the two negative reviews of this particular TJ Maxx location. I will agree that it is on the smaller side, but when you couple that with the fact that it is incredibly organized, it is so easy to navigate! Much easier to find what you're looking for, or realize that you need to look elsewhere. The selection here varies, as is the case with most other TJ's. The only negative to shopping here is the parking lot. With Nordstrom Rack, Ulta, and World Market in the same strip mall, it can be really packed. read more
