My all time fave store! Great locale service and selection. Staff very attentive and it smells absolutely amazing in this store!

I just had a terrible experience with a sales person in the fragrance area named Espressa, I believe. Although I was standing at the counter first. She took a woman in front of me who I believe she made a high dollar sale too at another counter. I'm not sure if it was because I'm dressed extremely casually, but she couldn't have been less interested in helping me I was in the middle of asking a question and she walked away from me to help the other woman. I have a $300 order that I am picking up in the next couple of days and I will be promptly returning it. If that's the kind of employee Neiman Marcus has I don't want anything to do with them. read more

I would love to give this store a higher rating but sadly only a few of the departments are really nice. Men's furnishing can be better but their customer service is very good. They were able to same day deliver me an item for only $50 which is excellent in my opinion And it was exactly what I need. Their perfume counter and cosmetic counter is supreme they do have some of the best perfumes without having to go on the city and they occasionally do give discounts and their sample selection gift bags is remarkable. I wished that the whole store was like this. It was once a beautiful store. I hope that they can restore back to the glory days or better But if you are in a pinch and you need something exquisite you may find some hidden gems. read more

Really disappointed in Neiman Marcus. I was trying to return a gift that I can't wear because it gives me a rash. I wouldn't have thought that a luxury store like Neiman Marcus would have a time limit for returns. Apparently they do. 30 days. Nordstrom does not and I'll be shopping there from now on. The manager would not even hear me out. Just looked at the receipt, said nothing she can do. Not even apologetic or even personable. So disappointing for a store that used to be the height of luxury. My experience with Neiman Marcus has not been pleasant in anyway. You walk into the store and nobody greets you. They do not have a service desk anywhere so you need to go to the department you purchased the product from. I did not know this and so when I finally found help, they said I can't help you, you need to go to the specific department. When I arrived in the specific department, I needed to be in the woman was not welcoming or friendly. The woman was not very friendly, and did not understand what I was explaining after explaining it multiple ways. She got upset with me and told me I was being unnecessary. My husband came here to purchase Ferragamo shoes, he was a wide foot and the Louboutin shoes he had purchased prior, were narrow and also hurt his instep. Jason, in the men's shoe department, was extremely helpful. He brought out our selections and in different sizes as the wideness allowed my husband the space for his foot so he could wear his actual size. Jason also told us which shoes were more commonly worn for what type of events and introduced my husband to "driver shoes", which he has told me feel so much better and have rubber on the back of the heel for where your foot rests when driving. Jason also mentioned pant length and gave us the 411 on socks. He introduced my husband to the shoe horn, which may have changed his life. It was a wonderful experience. We were also there at close and my husband typically gets anxious about time and feeling rushed. He told me that because of Jason's calm demeanor, he wasn't impacted. These shoes are not cheap, we could have shopped around, but the ease to try on and then buy what you like appeals to us. We bought several pairs and only one needed to be shipped due to sizing. I highly recommend if you or someone you know struggles with high end shoes that are comfortable. This brand comes in a standard wide and my husband says it makes all the difference. read more

I ordered 3 bottles of Chanel sublimate lextrait de cream in store. I only delivered one. The sales lady said the 3 bottles are from different places and delivered from different dates. I told them I have ring camera and showing I only received one small package one 8/16/2023. Then they changed their words, said all 3 are from one place. They want me pay the 2 bottles I didn't receive! And I have to fight for this! This is the worst experience ever!!! I strongly recommend only buy what is in the store. Do not ask them to ship to you. Our experience was extremely displeasing at this store. The first time we entered, we were there to buy a fragrance and lotion as a Mother's Day gift. We found what we needed, but when it came to customer service, we were strongly displeased. We were rudely greeted by the employee Peter. When we asked if the gift could be nicely wrapped, Peter offered it to us with a high price of about seven dollars. In my opinion, that is an unreasonably high price for some gift tissue and a nice looking box. A few weeks later, we went to return the Mother's Day gift, because we bought the wrong thing last time. The employe helping us with our return seemed very out of it and very inexperienced. We also had some candles that were given to us, but we wanted to return them. We did not have a receipt, but there was easily other ways we still could have returned them. The employee said that the store had a thirty day return policy, which is a very short time in my opinion. The store Nordstrom has a lot of the same products as your store, but there, the employees were much nicer, and gift wrapping was free. read more

Went in and seen some Chanel sunglasses and my sister wanted to buy a pair as well, I asked a lady who worked there (Silvia) if she could take the glasses out and she said "I'm leaving" I then asked if she could get me someone she said "oh I don't know" so I went and found someone myself, came back to get the glasses and she's at the same counter helping another lady (white) out then after she checks her out she's still there WORKING??? In an age of lazy retailers, one stands alone: Neiman Marcus. Remember the local feel of Fields? The customer service at Nordstrom's? They are both gone and all that remains is Neiman's hyper-focus on the customer. Recently at their Oak Brook location I was buying a small hostess gift. In walks Stephany. She helped me pick out something nice, wrapped it, rewrapped the stuff I bought at the book store, walked me over to pick up the sweater I ordered, of course helped wrap that, gave me advice on what to write on the card, talked without making me feel rushed and no joke, gave me a little hug. I spent $60 (plus the sweater that was already purchased). But in that moment they made a customer for life. Not kidding. read more

Extremely rude and condescending associates. I swear, you must pass a credit check before entering this establishment. If you're not earning at least 6 figures they don't want your money. Young woman working on the 2nd floor will simply give you a cold stare instead of greeting you and welcoming you into the store. The woman showing me fragrances made it very clear that "well, we close in 9 minutes, sir". She consistently reminded us that we were poor and unwelcome here. I love coming here to look at the latest fashions. I spend hours looking at the purses. I have purchased most of my purses here. Fendi, Gucci and my channel purse. My husband bought me my tori blue purse here also. I brought my son to have brunch with me at the new re model restaurant. We enjoyed the puffs with butter and the soup. We ordered tacos the tortillas were cold. They bring the food I beloved from downstairs so the hot food is warm or cold. I suggest they should have a toasters oven upstairs to heat the food before serving. I thing this is my favorite store because I had never had a complain about anything. As soon as a walk in they ask me if I can be helped. I have never made a return because I truly love what I buy. I am looking forward to the new extension to the Gucci with in the store read more

I was so excited that Neiman had a variety of different colors in a jacket I wanted compared to other stores. I ordered from Maria and she was very nice about overnighting the coat to the store before closing. Asked to order a Small after trying on an Extra Small. I paid the extra $25 for overnight. I went home that night and realized that my receipt said Extra Small. And called corporate to change it and they said it was too late. I tried to reach Maria next day but I could not. The following days when it arrived I returned it and Maria made it seem like it was my fault and did not return the $25 overnight delivery fee. She was so nice when I purchased the coat, but after returning the wrong size she ordered for me she was not happy. Customer service should be much better than that. Ill keep this short, Neiman Marcus has lost two customers for life! My fiancé' and I spend a lot of money there every year, last night we purchased about $1000.00 in items. My fiancé' purchased a product for her hair, used literally a drop and didn't like it, she went to return it today and they will not take it back or offer store credit. They asked her if she used it and her being honest said yes and they said its their policy; i didn't mention that this is a $49.00 item, the least they could do was offer store credit as we are good customers. So our policy is we wont spend money in your store! I will continue supporting your competition where they accept returns with no issues and i will be returning the rest of the items i purchased last night and buy them else ware. read more

Wow, I did not want to believe the reviews about the customer service but alas I can say that I will never buy anything here again. I visited the store to ask about returning some Balenciaga slides my wife gave me for Valentine's Day. They we the worst slides I've ever worn and they cut my feet a couple of times. I checked online and sure enough the reviews were terrible for them. I thought that considering the below par quality for this product that the store would want to at least offer me some store credit but no. The sales person very coldly said that since it's after 30 days that they can't do anything about it. Then he said that since I bought them in the downtown store that they definitely would not do anything. Also told me that even if I tried to return them downtown they would not take them back. Today while I was picking something up in Oakbrook, I had to cut through Neiman-Marcus, so I decided I could save myself a trip to another store and pick up a cosmetic item they sell. I stood and waited at the Clinique counter, and waited, then another woman walked up and suddenly a sales women walked right past me and very pleasantly asked the other woman what she might assist her with. The VERY classy other woman (please note the sarcasm) neglected to mention that I had been there first and went on conducting her business. I went to 2 other stores, made my purchases, and on the way back to my car through Neiman-Marcus, that woman was still at that counter. I had not shopped there in years and it will be years before I try to make a purchase there again. Last time I was there I tried to return a jewelry item, with the receipt, and was not able to do that either. It did not come from any department where I was sent. Still have the item, never worn. Wow Awful customer service. Bought a item during 30% sale. They didn't have it in stock in my size so they shipped it to me. Sales person said I could exchange for another item if I didn't like it and they would honor the discount sale for the exchange. When I came in to exchange she said "I never said that". She also went on to lie that the item I exchanged it with had just come in, which wasn't true because I had tried it on 10 days before. She must be concerned and consumed about her commission. The place was sorta dead so the lovely ladies and lone gentleman guided me through what turned out to be an excellent choice. One lady in particular was so thoroughly knowledgeable and informed about every little nuance I'm not sure what to say, other than Wow! The detailed explanation of not only Jo Malone, but Tom Ford's line and a few others was beyond impressive. I've been a loyal customer for decades and was treated like crap by a sales lady by the name of Sue that worked in Fragrances..didn't acknowledge my presence. I walked to the counter and notice the fragrance I was looking for was in stock. Soon as I got there she walked completely away.. I couldn't believe it. Raquel saved the day by assisting my needs. Sue was very rude and FAILED my customer service needs. I spoke to a manager and there was NO APOLOGY.. only saying, she will talk to her. Sue gets 0 stars.. Raquel gets 5... This review is not about Neiman Marcus as a store but the Gucci store within Neiman's. Receive the WORST customer service in Gucci. I was so excited to get a Gucci belt. Went to go buy one Memorial weekend. I was willing to spend a lot of money in order to get the belt as I know it's not cheap. But never have I EVER received a bad experience as this one. I went in and started looking at belts. At first it took a couple minutes before I was helped. This guy then came over and helped. I told him which belt I wanted and possibly what size I thought I was. After he got it for me I was completely ignored after that! A couple minutes later this lady who came in started looking at belts then asker me if I could help her because she thought I worked there but I didn't. When I told her I didn't she went to the guy who was just standing around and got help even though I was first and was going to buy the belt! He was just standing there and just left me. No help after that or nothing. It wasn't even busy. I shouldn't have to ask for help especially when there is 2 sales people and only 2 customers. But clearly I had to. Do NOT give this place your money. I'm a 20 year old student and after this experience I felt as if I didn't deserve anything nice or any designer brands. The belt was going to be my first high end belt product. Customers should feel special and should be helped out. But my experience was far from that. The only thing good about the visit is that I left knowing what size I was. Ended up just ordering straight from the Gucci website. When walking into a Neiman Marcus, one may think of class and style. Since spending time at the Neiman Marcus in Oak Brook, I can think of nothing except the word "appalling". The building and decor itself was typical and nice. The selection was nice as well, even though they did not have what I was looking for. Regardless, the service is what concerned me the most. While perusing the makeup and perfume sections that smelled absolutely awful, a rude employee made a snarky comment about a woman's weight as she walked past and proceeded to turn her nose up at this woman who was simply going for a fun shopping trip. When I looked around at the other perfume saleswomen, I was appalled that they simply laughed at the woman and encouraged the other saleswoman in her rude remarks. One would think that a grown woman and a group of grown woman working in a service field would have better discretion. Thank goodness the young shopper did not hear the comments that were being made. The woman who was helping me was out to lunch, spaced out and almost rude. When I was in the dressing room she kept on knockingon the door every 3 minutes seriously...I had dress delivered to the store from TX because they did not carry the size I was looking for...so I tried on the 2 dresses and I purchased my dress that fit best but then when I went to get the dress wrapped she was out to lunch...and was playing o stay out to lunch until dinner-I and left a little miffed. My thought processes this....I am not at Sears or JCPennys shopper (nothing wrong with those stores just a different level of merchandise and service-just not my cup of tea), I purchased at full price for an everyday office dress that was over $400.00 so this was not a $50.00 dress purchase but it shouldn't matter what the price was but you do expect a different level of salesperson she could have worked at Forever 21 or another hoochie coochie store where they sell cheap merchandise and and shirts for $9.99 I've gotten better service at a gas station (yes I just wrote hoochie coochie in a Yelp review! Went to Neiman Marcus to sample a few fragrances by Tom Ford before purchasing. Met a lovely young girl named Victoria who pleasantly assisted me. She also talked to me for a few mins about some other fragrances that I may possibly enjoy. I let her know that I was a bit upset at my self for missing out on a gift box set from Tom Ford. She told me that they were out for weeks. I let her know that I had a lunch date and if the fragrance I had come into sample continued to smell the way I liked then I would be back to purchase it. After lunch I went back. She had a huge smile on her face. She told me that she had gone to a different counter and long and behold she found the gift set that was being displayed in a wrong spot it had caught her attention through the corner of her eye. She asked if I would like to purchase it. Of course I wanted it. I even had some other questions about a different fragrance brand and even though it wasn't her section she apply talked to me about it. I had such a present experience that I will now forever continue to go to her for any new fragrance purchase. read more

Not impressed, which is terrible because I love NM! Not a week passes that I'm not on the NM app on my phone. So when I went to this store I was expecting fireworks. Nope. I came on 1 trip in search of Vosges chocolates that they supposedly carry. So I made my way through the handbag dept. were a sales associate saw me and turned around and walked away. Rude. So up the escalators I go and end up in the shoe dept. I fell in lust with some Alexander McQueen flats AND a ridiculously impractical but gorgeous pair of Christian Louboutin heels. Both on sale! Yay! But this time the sales associate is standing across the table from me, staring at me wordlessly. Ooooook....weird. So unfortunately, they were mostly sold out of the chocolates I was looking for. At least the sales associate in that area was pleasant.
