I stopped in for a specific item, but they didn't have anything in my size- which is not an unusual size- but the selection was so limited and no staff were on the floor to help. It's hard to find sections in general as this place is set up like a warehouse. I had to squint and just wander to ty to find what I needed. They need to divide up sections and label everything better. Toy selection looked great initially and I was excited to pick up some stuff for work- discounted toys & books, hurrah!- but as I got closer I could see nearly every item was plastic! No high-quality toys, games or crafts. Just loads of cheap stuff. There were a few books I'd buy, but that's it. Only one small bookshelf of kids books that I could see. Buyer beware, before doing business at Villa Park Burlington. Very poor customer experience, rude associate and store manager that refused to accept return on poor quality merchandise. This is despite having three times the amount of new purchases I was ready to make in exchange for the return. It is apparent that customer experience is not a priority for the Villa Park Burlington, nor do they feel repeat business is important. I did express my dissatisfaction of my customer experience to the store manager. What was appalling was, in front of other customers, she told me that she didn't care. Let me tell you why I will never set foot in this store again. The first reason is they will not let anyone try on clothes anymore. Their reason! "They keep getting robbed" "Robbed versus having someone steal from your business is two different things" I spent a good amount of time selecting clothes to try on for a baby shower. I found no one near the fitting room so my son asked at the front desk if someone could open the fitting room for me. They flat out said NO, they were always getting robbed and therefore not allowing anyone to try on clothes anymore. Now you can buy it all and return what you don't want with a receipt within a reasonable amount of time. That didn't fly with me. I'm not going to buy Six dresses and then have to return five of them. So I settled on one dress hoping it would fit. I got to the register a little annoyed and asked about the return policy again just to make sure I knew the return window. I was annoyed at the cashier "Male" who was extremely rude to me when I asked why I couldn't try on clothes. He said "We keep getting robbed and if you want to get a job here maybe you can help us" Well that didn't sit right with me either as i didn't appreciate his nastiness. So I informed him I had a much better job to do that didn't involve loss prevention. And they made me so mad I told them they could keep the one dress I was going to buy because of their poor customer service. I feel like Burlington is one of those companies that's struggling. This store had a decent amount of items between all the clothing, shoes, accessories and housewares, but there were huge areas of the store that were completely empty- no racks or anything, just a large open space. It was a little depressing. Like similar stores, such as Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Etc., you get what you get. The stock isn't consistent. There were some nice baby clothing items from brands like Carters and Calvin Klein though. I'd be interested to come back and peruse the baby gear, once I see what I need in the future. Crappy selection of coats. Not sure if I waited too long in the season (mid October) but found nothing worth buying in coats. I did find a very cute watch at a good value so not a total waste. Cats and dogs only here, in weird sizes. This is the second time I have been to the place spaced some months apart and its the same. Skimpy selection of unattractive clothing and in sizes that are very large or very small and short. I am of average build size and weight, nothing there for me. The atmosphere of the store - personnel, etc. - just seemed moribund. I do not know if it's this location or the chain overall declining, but I recall the store in Arlington Heights some years ago being much, much better where I actually found stuff to buy. So this place is not worth the trip, or even going in if you are driving by. read more

I decided to make a baby shower gift for my friend and I didn't want to spend too much on it since I had already purchase a larger gift and I noticed this specific BCF has a baby depot department so I decided to checked it out and really glad I did! I got a baby bottle for $0.99, 2 bibs for $1.99, receiving blankets for under $10, and much more! Best part is these items are brand names that you can find at Babies R Us or Buy Buy Baby. but you pay less for them at BCF. I highly recommend checking out their baby depot because they have a lot of great items on sale esp. cute little baby clothes! Clearance items need to be checked for expiration before buying because sometimes they like to discount expired a few days ago food. However, most of the times there are a many interesting unique items for decoration. Good quality products in Kitchen tools department. Helpful staff, store is clean and roomy. read more

I was meeting a friend for dinner nearby, so I killed some time shopping in the area. I haven't shopped at Burlington in awhile, mostly because I worked there in high school and seeing the coat department look like a hurricane blew through breaks my 16 year old heart. But you can't beat the prices on clothes here. I tried on a handful of items and found a pink and white striped long cardigan for $13 (look at me! I look like a candy cane that's been sucked on! um, what?) and a Cable & Gage black blouse with a geometric print for $15. If you're into labels, they had a lot of Calvin Klein and Michael Kors clothing as well. There's also a junior-plus size section for all of those mourning the loss of the mall staple, Deb. I also found a gray short-sleeve button up with tiny white polka dots for my dad ($20). Polka dots may sound alarming, but it's a very clean design. Better than the Aurora or Bloomingdale stores. read more

I've been waiting in their designated layaway line for over 30 minutes. Cashiers have walked past and not helped at all while only attending purchasing customers. The manager, Black woman, with short black hair and Amina did not help us at all. Instead they looked at me as if I was crazy for standing in a layaway line!! I don't understand these stores and neither do the employees because they seem to be useless. I love Burlington. I always find a good deal. That being said, this store is probably the least organized one I've been too. The juniors section is rather small, and it's difficult to navigate through to find what you want. But I still love this place! The store is very clean, and the employees are very helpful. When we were in yesterday, I was looking for comfy pants to wear after my surgery. I left with a pair of sweats and soft fuzzy pajama bottoms with monsters on them. The second pair did not have a tag and was the last pair, the sweats were on clearance. The lady checking me out was kind enough to give me the price of the sweats for the jammies.That was super nice of her. I don't know how much they were supposed to be. They may have been more than what I paid! So it's like Burlington Coat Factory gave me a get well gift! :) Because I paid next to nothing! read more

Have not been into a BCF for years. Damn they are big (at least this one is). As Wifey shopped I took a walk around the whole store interior. This is what I found: *Ladies items galore..........not presented well (boring metal racks/hangars) but if you wanna dive in I am sure that bargains await. Kids stuff. Clothes + toys. Donald S. Trump (!) signature shorts for $19...............I am currently not into "colored collars" so I will pass. English Laundry shirt brand here also. Athletic gear is here. Candies at the check out. I visited the store with my mother on Saturday, October 22, 2022 around 4 PM. When we tried to purchase a pair of baby leggings they did not have a tag, the manager was called over. She refused to sell us the item because it was a mismatch set of three possibly. She refused to even look up the item as just a generic baby leggings and print a tag for it, as they have done it many other locations for me before. The manager was yelling at me and yelling at my mother about it, and we also heard her yelling at her employees for other things. I also overheard her yelling at an employee over the phone as well. This manager makes such a hostile work environment, that the employee checking out my coat forgot to take off the sensor, even though I only purchased two items. I highly recommend the female manager working at this time on that day be terminated. I will not be back at this location ever again because it was such a terrible experience. read more

I can see from reading other reviews on this site that the employees were nasty and rude to other people, and would not accept returns. One star is too many after having to call the police at Burlington this evening. The manager, James, at Villa Oaks Burlington in Villa Park, was working as a cashier and had a very angry customer arguing with him and the employees as we walked in. The employees gathered and one girl was very disrespectful to the woman and told her to stop talking, the other employee was laughing. I witnessed this as I was in line waiting to return boots that had been purchased three days ago. The boots were over the knee boots. After getting them home I noticed that they severely cut the circulation off behind my knee to the point of giving me pain when I sat down. So when it was my turn in line I went up and told him I wanted a refund. He looked at the price tag that was still on the boot and he said, " I can't return these". I asked, "Why?". He said, "You tell me". What a rude and disrespectful thing to say to a customer . I didn't know what he was talking about so I said, "No, you tell me". He said, " Because they're wore". I tried to explain to him that they were defective as they cut off the circulation in the back of the knee. He wouldn't let me get that sentence out of my mouth. How can a manager not let a customer tell him what's wrong with the merchandise? He was terribly unprofessional and was acting more like a teenage punk than a manager. He again just happily, with pleasure, told me that he would not return the boots. I again tried to get one sentence out of my mouth to tell him the situation, again he interrupted me after about four words. I was very frustrated by the situation. I told him that he was just taking his anger from his fight with his previous customer out on me. Then his employees started laughing at me. They were laughing to be disrespectful on purpose. I had my receipt, I had a pair of defective boots that needed to be returned and he refused for no good reason and would not let me speak. The price tag on the bottom of the boot was torn, but it was still legible, and it was like that when I bought them. The employee who originally rung them up is a witness to that. He didn't let me tell him that. He didn't let me speak My mother was also with me. She had a pair of boots also to return. He refused to even look at hers. She was not allowed to take them out of the bag. The employees again were laughing. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was. I told him I was going to call corporate, and he said he didn't care. There was no dealing with this person because he was rude from the beginning on purpose and meant to give us a hard time on purpose and the employees took pleasure in it, just as they had been arguing with the other woman not more than five minutes prior. My mother is 76 years old. As I said, he would not allow her to speak or take the boots out of her bag to return them. She got angry and started to try to tell him he was wrong and he yelled at her , "Get out". And he said he wasn't returning her boots either. After he had the audacity to yell at my mother to get out and not even look at her unworn boots that simply didn't fit, I told him that I was calling the police. I've never encountered an employee that got hostile and refused to do their job. He was acting abnormal. They were purposely being malicious. I called the police and the police spoke to him, but the police told me it was a civil matter and that they didn't have any power because of that. But the police understood the problem of him refusing to give us our money back and being hostile and unprofessional to the point of not even carrying out store policy. The police told us to call corporate and said that we could take the boots to another Burlington store in the area with normal employees. A couple of weeks prior my mother was, what we thought, "accidentally" overcharged $50 at the same store. She had to speak with her bank and get her bank involved. After today's incident we no longer believe it was an accident. This store and it's manager and employees are a real problem to it's customers and to Burlington itself. We both won't ever shop there again. read more

I love the styles and selection here. They carry a lot of what I love to wear and were usually reasonably priced though it seems like the prices are increasing. I also do not care for their 30-day return policy. I wish it was longer but they will give you a store credit. You can probably find what you are looking for and it is pretty organized, which I like. read more

I just visited the Burlington Coat Factory to purchase a few gifts for my daughters babyshower. I was so excited about finding such cute things. I approached the cashier to pay for my items. One of the outfits I selected was marked as a 3 piece set on the tag, it was also a clearance item. The shirt and vest were connected with a plastic toggle from a dennison gun. The pants were on a separate hanger. I explained to the cashier and I showed her the tag,and the label inside the pants. She argued with me that if I wanted all three pieces I had to pay full price. I explained that it was marked as a three piece and should sold as such regardless of it being on clearance or not. If it wasn't priced as such then it should have been retagged. I asked to speak with a manager and the cashier came back to inform me that it was just like she said . I would be charged full price for the item if I wanted the pants. I have been a sales manager for over 25 years, and I would never treat a customer so rudely. I will never shop here again. read more

I was shopping at this store and when I went to check out the computers went down. I knew mine when thought however it didn't show on the tapes. I went ahead and paid again. Nicole came over and helped with this and told me to call her if I was double charged. I was, so I called Nicole and she took care of everything. I cannot say enough about her. Not only did she follow up but return every call the same day. I did get my refund for the double purchase and to my surprise she even called after she got back from her vacation to make sure this went well. She is truly a gem. IF YOU ARE REGISTERING SOMEWHERE...DO NOT REGISTER HERE. From the first time I went into the store to register, it was a nightmare. The first time I tried to register, the computer was broken. They called someone to come help me, and after waiting for awhile, a woman finally came. She took down my name and went into the back to use the computer back there. After 45 mins. of waiting, with this woman running back and forth asking me info(address, then she came back, passcode, then she came back, etc), she told me the system was down, and I could NOT register. Great! Next time I went to register, the computer still didn't work. After half hour, they finally got me registered and gave me the gun to scan stuff. So I spent an hour walking around scanning for my registry. Which ended up being poiintless because nothing was being removed from the registry as people were purchasing. My girlfriends called me and said there were only 2 items removed from the registry. ANd it wasn't the things they had bought. Another friend told me when she told the cashier to make sure the item was removed, the cashier had to call someone to show her how. WHAT???? My friend's mom had to call someone to tell her what was left on the registry b/c the computer STILL didnt work, and noone ever came to help. On the day of my shower, I got multiples of many different items. So what was the point of having a registry??? Now I'm 8 months pregnant having to drag in strollers, etc to return for store credit. Great I get to shop at a store that has been FAR FROM HELPFUL. Unless you like to waste your time, do NOT REGISTER AT BABY DEPOT. read more

This Burlingtons has a large selection of clothes for the curvy girl.I was amazed at the selection.The have a nice assortment of coats,dresses,and shirts for anyone with big boobies.The purse selection is nice.I never looked at any pants or skirts so I'm not sure how that selection is but they did have a lot of racks.I also liked the fact that the aisles are a little bigger.I did not feel like I was smooshed between clothing racks. read more
