    My banana tree stand
    Rosanna S.

I decided to make a baby shower gift for my friend and I didn't want to spend too much on it since I had already purchase a larger gift and I noticed this specific BCF has a baby depot department so I decided to checked it out and really glad I did! I got a baby bottle for $0.99, 2 bibs for $1.99, receiving blankets for under $10, and much more! Best part is these items are brand names that you can find at Babies R Us or Buy Buy Baby. but you pay less for them at BCF. I highly recommend checking out their baby depot because they have a lot of great items on sale esp. cute little baby clothes! On a different note, BCF has been my go to for discounted shopping, I was in need of a griddle, which unfortunately they did not have but I was able to find a banana tree stand (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/burlington-coat-factory-villa-park?select=OWsZzGITDZeWSXDzuohNlQ#OWsZzGITDZeWSXDzuohNlQ) and new cutting boards (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/burlington-coat-factory-villa-park?select=OWsZzGITDZeWSXDzuohNlQ#oZXfZodGVzKJ8DihRI6ICg) so I don't contaminate my food. I love that both items are colorful and gives my home a pop of brightness. BCF, I can't wait to see what I find on my next visit!

What was awful was the intense perfume smell on the south side of the first floor that extended through the pick up and returns area. One of the other customers agreed with me that it was terrible. I initially came into the store to return a pair of shoes, which went smoothly. While in the store, I decided to purchase a men's cologne as a birthday gift for my fiancé. When I proceeded to check out, I asked the associate to look up my Macy's credit card account, as I typically do. My transaction was declined, and I was told it was due to an issue with my identification. I explained that I recently upgraded to a Real ID and was issued a temporary paper ID by the DMV, which is valid and contains the same information as my previous ID. Instead of receiving assistance in resolving the issue: * I was told I had to call customer service myself. * I spent approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes on the phone trying to resolve the issue while standing in the store. * The transaction was retried but declined again. * I felt a lack of support and empathy during the process. This situation became extremely embarrassing, as I was left standing at the register for an extended period. I felt as though other customers and staff were watching and judging the situation, which made me feel uncomfortable and humiliated. While one associate eventually attempted to help by suggesting another call, the overall experience lacked proper customer care, discretion, and support. I am requesting: 1. A review of how situations like this are handled in-store. 2. Additional training for staff on assisting customers with credit card issues. 3. Better coordination between store associates and credit services to avoid placing the burden entirely on the customer. 4. Follow-up regarding how this situation will be improved moving forward. I have been a loyal Macy's customer and was very disappointed by how this situation was handled.

Seriously if there was an option for no stars I may have put that…read more I went here when Christmas shopping. I walked in not really looking for anything in particular... and ended up finding something cool for my boyfriend and brother/sister-in-law. BUT. First of all I was greeted by a guy with dreadlocks when I walked in-- who had his mouth full of food. I understand sometimes timing isn't ideal, but he continued to have a conversation with me despite the fact that I was getting a disgusting show of the inside of his mouth. I quickly excused myself from that and said, "just browsing." Now as I'm walking around the store, I am distracted by a woman having a very LOUD conversation with an employee (who I later found out was the manager). Not only was this woman talking at an inappropriately loud volume, she was also talking about rather inappropriate things. I don't know if she worked there, but she was bashing people openly and just overall being a total ass hole. The manager woman just continued conversing with her as if it was no big deal. I finally picked up my items and went to the register to fill out paperwork and check out. The guy with the dreads got me started on paperwork for engraving. As I was filling out the sheet (and mind you, it is pretty quick), two other customers came in and the guy with the dreads moved on to greet them. They had a lot of questions which he was answering, but after I filled out my 30 second paper, I was standing there waiting for the next step. So the manager is standing there having a personal conversation about 2 feet away, the dread guy is helping a customer, and another guy was just walking in circles in the back of the store... while I stand there twiddling my thumbs. About 30 seconds before I'm about to walk out, the dreadlock guy comes back and takes care of me. There is more to this story, but I think you get the jist. I have worked customer service before and basically the idea (especially around Christmas time) is to help customers. And the manager is supposed to delegate tasks. On the other hand, the products turned out beautifully, so that is the reason for my 1 star rating. However, I don't normally like to support businesses that have shitty customer service- no matter how good their product is.

I was able to achieve both here! Yorktown Center and mall are the anchor of this area and have all the classic vibes of an interior mall while being surrounded by open-air shopping and eateries. Additionally, this complex also has a movie theater an a gym. So, multi-faceted and mixed used for sure. The mall has a lot of the standard mall store you expect, but they also have a good variety of smaller branded stores and even some local shops. Like any other mall right now, there were serval empty store fronts. While the shops were cool to wander through and by, I came for the food court, which is huge! Featured a solid selection of chain and local spots. The mall was clean and well kept. Worn in some places, but for the most part in good shape. Overall, solid spot to spend some time at, with or without purpose.

Firstly, I appreciated that this mall is located walking distance from a big store-front shopping center, including a hotel and stores like Target and a bus stop. A circus was on tour in the parking lot the same weekend I arrived here, which I would assume would've brought more business to the mall. It seems to be a good spot for pop-up events like that. And secondly, service dogs are welcomed for those that need them. Overall I had a great experience with the stores that this mall does have, including the biggest highlight being at Victoria Secret's where the staff greeted me, gave me a post-weight loss bra fitting and great service when checking out with my new items! Vacancies are plenty-full in this mall unfortunately and specifically I want to mention Barbra's Bookstore - a small owned bookstore in the mall that I 1000000% wanted to support, mostly because they fullllllly advertised their banned book section and had tote bags for sale around the store branded with those same banned books *see pictures* , BUT - no one acknowledged me in the store & I don't appreciate that. Decent mall, decent stores, great food court (Burning Mouth being the best place) - with lounging, sitting area. There's also a family bathroom in this mall, located by the food court that is HUGE - and I'm sure helpful to mothers nursing. A family, small-oriented mall indeed!
